Jezebel: Part 3 - Poison Fruits, Part A
15 Nov 2024 · 20 min
In this episode of Mom Mastery University, host Hannah Healy explains how the spirit of Jezebel corrupts the biblical fruits of the Spirit, turning them into toxic counterparts that hinder a mother’s spiritual health. She outlines the pattern of the Jezebel spirit—using isolation, idolatry, and deception to draw a person into agreement with a false source (money, relationships, status) and then produces distorted “fruits of the flesh.” Healy walks through each of the first five fruits, showing how love becomes lust, joy becomes discouragement, peace becomes imagined fear, patience becomes urgency, and kindness becomes aggression. She illustrates each distortion with everyday examples and biblical references (Ahab & Jezebel, Nehemiah 8:10, Philippians 4:7, Jesus in the temple). The episode emphasizes the importance of repentance, staying connected to a supportive community (Mom Mastery University), and recognizing the Jezebel spirit’s tactics—controlling, dominating, and preying on the isolated. Listeners are invited to enroll in the program for deeper work and to continue with the next episode covering the remaining fruits.

Welcome back to Mom Master University. And we are talking about the spirit of Jezebel. Yeah, just a light discussion. Right. Well, we've been talking about it for a couple of weeks here, and this is part three. Now, if you missed part one and two, go ahead and stay here because I think you're here for a reason. But make sure you go back and listen or watch part one and two as well. Now, we're talking about today, the poison for fruits of seduction. Ooh, sounds spicy. Well, stay tuned because it is. Welcome to Mom Mastery University. The education every mom should have had, but mom didn't. I'm Hannah Healy, America's number one mom coach, and class is now in session. Okay, we all know what the fruits of the spirit are, right? Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. If it weren't for a song, I don't know if I could remember all those. Right, mom brain. But we need to talk about what it looks like when those fruits turn toxic. And when you come into agreement with the spirit of Jezebel, that is exactly what happens. And is it turns the fruit that you produce in life, instead of fruit of the spirit, it turns it into this fruit of the flesh, which is toxic, bitter, and poisonous. So when you do come into agreement, and if you have experienced, you know, what we talked about in part one and part two, about feeling isolated, and then there's a threat in the environment, and the spirit of Jezebel uses that to cause you to imagine things, and all of a sudden you're believing it, and then you start speaking it out, and then you start creating it, and then you commit tre, which is turning from your source to another source, which is also idolatry, and then trying everything you can to get what you need out of that other source. Which is witchcraft. Yeah, it gets dark really fast. But what happens when you do come into agreement with that spirit of Jezebel is you do produce fruit. Every single word, every agreement, every. Every action does create a reaction. And that reaction of abiding in the spirit, of being planted, grounded, rooted in God. Well, that looks like fruit of the Spirit. Looks like love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, stillness, self control. Right, but what does it look like when you've been in agreement with the spirit of Jezebel and letting now the enemy be your source and. And the world be your source. Mammon is your source or relationship or your children or job or something as your source other than God. What happens as a result of that? Well, let's talk about each one of those. We're going to go into each one and really discuss how that can show up in your life and how to turn from it. Because repentance is like the core here of how we can move out of this spirit of Jezebel operating in our lives. Now remember, the spirit of Jezebel can operate through people. It often looks like a narcissist in your life. It looks like someone who is very controlling, very dominating, makes you feel bad when. When you're not doing what they want you to do. Preys on that. So just like the spirit of Just like Jezebel preyed on Ahab. Ahab was weak. You can tell because Ahab went and told Jezebel what Elijah did. And then Jezebel was the one that said, hey, all right, I'm going to kill you. You're going to be dead tomorrow, just like you killed all these prophets. Why didn't Ahab say that? Because he was weak. So what makes you weak? Isolation. Think about it. We're stronger together. So I want you to see the pattern here. The spirit of Jezebel operates through people. It looks like they're controlling, they're dominating. They make you feel bad. They give you all the reason in the world to do something that is against your moral code or against what you think is right. They give you perfectly logical, sound reason to do it. But they often prey on people who are weak. Weakness as a result of isolation, not being supported, not being surrounded. That's why you've got to stay inside Mom Master University. I'm telling you, I've seen so many times when moms have, you know, been inside Mom Master University for a year or so. They're like, oh, I'm good. I'm good. They get out, and all of a sudden they find themselves in a place of distress, overwhelm, pain. You have to stay plugged in. Just make it your life decision. I'm a lifer because I'm always going to be surrounded with other moms who are wise, who want what's best best for me, who love God. And we're all seeking to create a better world for our families. Stay plugged in. So what happens as a result of getting into agreement with that? You start to produce fruit. And it looks very different than the fruit of the spirit. So let's take each one of these. The first one is love. Now, that's the very first fruit. The spirit is the most powerful fruit of the spirit because love is really the energy of God. God is love. Now how does this show up when it's toxic? When it comes out of an agreement we've made with the spirit of Jezebel, it looks like lust. So instead of love, we have lust. Now, lust often masquerades as love, but it is false. That's a deception which is at the root of everything the spirit of Jezebel does is. Is deception. That's how the enemy works. He tries to deceive you. So what does this look like? It looks like a lust for the thing that you believe would give you what you need to give you the feeling you want. Let me go back. Lust is that is looking at something in your life as I need this so that I will feel this way. For example, I want to feel safe. So now lust looks like I'm going to look at money so I can feel safe. Because money will buy me what I need. And they can pay the bills so I'll feel safe. That's lust I need to feel. I need to feel noticed and seen and heard. I need to feel connected. So now let me lust after a person to get that feeling that I want. So do you see? Lust is. Love is very other focused. Lust is very self focused. I need to feel this way. Love is. I want you to feel this way. Lust is. I want to feel this way. So just think. I want you to think of if you want to get a really clear picture of what that looks like. Because even love can like get distorted and turn into lust. Because that's how the enemy works. He just works by twisting things, right? So I want you to think right now of every single argument. Or just maybe let's just give one too many arguments. Let's think of the last argument you had in your marriage. Do you see that? The energy switched from other to me. Think about the argument. Whatever argument it was, the energy shifted somewhere from you focused to me focused. Because arguments are usually. I need to tell you how I'm right. I need to tell you what I need. I need to tell you how you need to change. And it all means I want to feel a certain way. I'm after this feeling. So that's what it looks like as a distortion of love. It starts to show up as lust. I need to get my needs met and I want to feel this way. So I'm going to lust after that thing that I believe. Give me the feeling I want. Dangerous territory. So that's what it looks like for love. What about joy? Well, that fruit that starts to be produced out of an agreement we make with the spirit of Jezebel, of course, that you know this, the idolatry. Instead of joy, we now have discouragement. See, this is what happens even for the most powerful believers when we're in spiritual battle, when we're believing for something and we're not seeing it happen, and we're still believing and still believing. We can have joy of believing, like, oh, but I can trust God. I can depend upon God. He is faithful. That's where joy comes in. What the enemy will do if he can't take you out, he will wear you out and he will create fatigue in you, a spiritual fatigue. So now you're looking at this, you know, instead of joy, because you can trust God and He's faithful, you're looking at discouragement because God hasn't come through yet. Do you see that? You've lost your courage. That's what discouragement is, losing your courage. In Nehemiah 8:10, it says, Be not grieved and depressed, for the joy of the Lord is your strength and stronghold. So think about this. Who does the spirit of Jezebel attack? He attacks people when they're isolated and weak. It just said that the joy of the Lord is your strength. So when you have discouragement, guess what? That becomes your weakness. So the goal is, if I can create enough discouragement in you, you will make agreements with a source that is other than God to get you what you want. And that's a scary place to be. So I want you to think, what belief currently is your source of joy? Now, joy is a feeling that comes from a belief. So that belief can look like God is faithful. I can trust him. He always comes through. He loves me. He's working everything out for good. So I want you to think very clearly here. If I'm going to create joy in my life, I need to know what is the belief at the root of that feeling of joy, what gives me that feeling of joy? And really hone in on that. Because the feeling of discouragement, you can do the same thing with discouragement. What belief is giving me the feeling of discouragement? It'll never happen. I should never start in the first place. I'm behind. He does everything for everyone else, and I'm not noticed. Like, those kind of beliefs create discouragement. So we have to get really clear on what beliefs can I hold that will give me a feeling of joy? And we start intentionally camping out in that, and we're going to do more in the extended work. Okay? Now, the third fruit of the Spirit is peace. But of course we're not going to have any peace when the spirit of Jezebel is working in our life, right? So what does this look like as a toxic fruit instead of peace? We start to have fear. Think about the things you hold fear around now. Fear can be a real and present danger. Like, this is like, literally, someone's breaking in the house. I'm going to have fear and I'm going to operate with that. But what we're talking about is a spiritual fear over an imagined threat. Not a real and present threat. An imagined threat. And think about it. If it's not facing you right this second, it's imagined. Even if you're like, but what can happen tomorrow, it's still imagined. So think about this fear that we create. I want to show you something. In Philippians 4. 7, it says, God's peace. And this is what we're after. This is for the spirit shall be yours. That tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ. And so fearing nothing from God and being content with this earthly lot of whatever sort that is. That peace which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Now, that's the classic amplified version. And I wanted to share that with you because it just. Well, it amplifies it, right? It gives you so much understanding of what peace really is. First of all, it's the tranquil state of your soul. Your soul is your mind, your will and your emotions. So if you. And that's where peace is manifest in your mind, your. Your will and your emotions. So you can establish that peace, where does it come from? It's fearing nothing. Fearing nothing and being content with whatever you're currently in right now. Now, contentment doesn't have to be like, well, I'm broke and I'm fine with that. It means, you know what? I. I see that I don't have any money, but I'm believing for this. It doesn't mean, well, I'm sick and I just have to face it. No, it means I feel this, this is real. But I am believing in healing. So it's causing your mind to go in a direction that creates a feeling of peace. And that is why this peace transcends all understanding. Because other. The way the world operates is like, oh, this is your circumstance and you should feel this, you should be scared, you should be confused, you should be freaking out. And that's why it transcends all our seeing, because we're like, well, I'm in this. But I'm okay. I'm content with it because I know God is still faithful. So it pushes us a little bit further. That's why peace, real peace, is not just a feeling of bliss that you enter into in a meditative state. It's God's peace, which says, even in this state, I'm still 100% good. I'm still good. Now also, another fruit of the spirit is patience. Now, what does it look like as a toxic fruit? It looks like urgency. If you've been with me for any time at all, you've heard me say this. Urgency never makes good decisions. It doesn't. Urgency is a state of panic that we have to do something now. And I think about how Jesus handled urgency. So think about when he was at the temple and all these Pharisees came and these, you know, people at the temple, they threw this woman in front of him that was caught in the state of adultery. Like, no question, she was actually caught committing adultery. Threw her down and said, okay, the law says that we're to stone her. What do you say? They were trying to catch him, right? In. In some kind of, like, flaw. They're trying to catch him. And so there's urgency here. I need to respond to them. I need to respond to them. They need an answer now. I don't know what to do. What do I say? Here's this woman on the ground. Everyone's looking at me. Urgent, right? What did Jesus do? I call it. He popped a squat. And sometimes I think to myself, in urgent situations, I just need to pop a squat. He squatted down on the ground and he started drawing in the sand. And I know everyone has all these theories. Oh, he was writing names or he was writing, you know, what I believe he was doing. He was just buying his time. He's not going to respond to urgency. He'll just sit and draw in the sand. Because it says earlier in that book, I don't do. It says earlier? Yes, that I don't do anything unless I see my Heavenly Father do it. And I don't say anything unless I hear my Heavenly Father say it. So he was waiting to get a directive from his Heavenly Father. So what if we just didn't allow urgency? What if urgency. Whenever we feel that urgent. I gotta do something now. I gotta figure this out. I gotta react. Oh, no. What if we took that as, like, the trigger to intentionally step. Pop a squat. I'm just gonna pop a squat, and I'm just gonna abide. I'm gonna listen to my Heavenly Father. Because I have ears to hear and I know his voice. And the enemy wants me to react in urgency. But remember, urgent decisions made in urgency are never good ones. So what if I just sat in this and I really tuned into God and listened to him in this place? That's what patience looks like. Patience looks like I don't have to make it happen. I can trust God. My dog's growling for some reason. You good, bro? You good? Okay, he's good. All right, so let's move on to number five. And that is kindness. Now you know what kindness looks like. Kindness looks like. Well, being kind, thinking about others, being thoughtful, being considerate. Now, what does it look like, though, when it's toxic? What does it look like when it's twisted? What that looks like is aggression. Now, the Jezebel spirit cannot take no for an answer. Just can't do it, can't do it my way or the highway. I can't take no for an. Even if that no comes from God, it's like we're going, la, la, la, la, la. I can't hear you. Can't hear you. So that aggression is that spirit of, I've got to make it happen. It's got to be my way. And if I step on you, it's okay because I'm more important. It's really like operating in vanity, glorifying yourself because you believe you're right. Now this. This looks like when it's. When it's whitewashed by someone who is operating with Spirit of Jezebel, it looks like, but this is the right thing. This is the good thing. This is the. This is the just thing. This is how it should happen. And it can seem so logical. The spirit of Jezebel does work with logic that is often in direct conflict with the word of God. But the spirit of Jezebel will get you to believe that it's the right decision because it's just right. It makes sense. This is how it should be. Even before checking with your heavenly Father to see if that is the right decision or not. So you need what? So what this looks like kindness is being other, focused and listening to God and how to make decisions to move forward because he doesn't believe in stepping on people to get what you want. People matter to God. So what aggression looks like. It's like, I'm not going to listen to God. I'm going to listen to the logic. I'm going to listen to what's right, what should be in my eyes, and I'm just going to make it happen. It doesn't matter who I step on. And it can feel just. It can feel good. But remember, we don't go by feelings. We talked about that. Number one. I think we're not going to be led by feelings. We're going to be led by faith. So these are just the first five. And we're going to continue with the last four fruits in part four, the very last part. So do not miss it. I'll see you there. Remember, this is just the first part. Tune in to Mom Master University.
