My Favorite Line From A Movie EVER
14 Jun 2019 · 12 min
In this solo, faith‑based motivational podcast, Hannah Keeley uses her favorite line from the original Jurassic Park—“hold on to your butts”—as a recurring metaphor to encourage moms to embrace a radical, adventure‑filled, faith‑filled life. She explains two key principles: (1) hold on to your butts because life is crazy, has an expiration date, and should be lived fully rather than safely; she illustrates this with vivid analogies about mayonnaise, chocolate cake, and the inevitability of death. (2) Adopt a light‑hearted attitude when faced with intense, uncertain situations, laughing and trusting God’s guidance even when circumstances seem foolish or chaotic, referencing the biblical idea that God uses the foolish to confound the wise. Throughout, she shares personal anecdotes (her dog interrupting, a deer chase) to keep the tone conversational. The episode also includes promotional calls‑to‑action for her MomMastery online university (mommastery.com) and a free “Mom Show Starter Kit” (thatmomshow.com or text KIT to 345345), positioning these resources as tools for moms to achieve radical results in health, money, family, and joy.

Okay. It's my favorite line from a movie ever, ever, ever, ever. My favorite line. And it also helps me remember what I'm going to tell you in this episode. The two things you need to know about this crazy faith filled life you live. Here's the big question. How are these average everyday moms getting radical results in their lives? How are they able to transform their health, money, families, homes, and have fun doing it? The trick. Check this out. We're not average. I'm Hannah Keeley and I'm going to spill our secrets and answer your questions right now in that mom show. Okay? So this, this line from a movie, my favorite line, oh my gosh, my dog is literally scratching at the door. All right, come on. Come on out. Come on. All right. Yep. Okay, now, now I can get back to it. Okay. My favorite line from a movie ever is Jurassic Park. Yes. The original, the OG Jurassic Park. And it's this line, hold on to your butts. Hold on to your butts. It was. When was it Samuel L. Jackson? Was that it? When he was, you know, he was supposed to be controlling all of the stuff in Jurassic park and they had to turn off the main power source so they could turn on some backup or something. Said it twice in the movie hold on to your butts. And it's my favorite line. And, and there's two things. Like I remember this all the time and I probably say it all the time, much to my kids and my husband's chagrin. So it way too much. But this is what it reminds me. This is what I want to tell you about these two things, about this crazy life we live. Because if you're a believer, if you're trusting God with your life, and if you're walking in faith, you need to remember these two things. And the first one, hold on to your butts because this life is crazy. Crazy. Like if you want an adventuresome life, if you want to live like that wild ride where you come pulling in to death's door saying, whoa, what a ride. I did it. That's crazy. If you want to live that kind of life where you are 100% all used up and squeezed out and you truly lived a life worth living, then go ahead with the faith filled life. Yes, I had to let my dog back in. Go ahead with that faith filled life because God is going to lead you on some crazy adventures. And here's the thing, things aren't going to make sense. That some things are going to be totally illogical. Some things don't make sense. Some things are just look, appear to be foolish. But this is where God says in his word that he uses the foolish of the world to confound the wise. I literally have that verse on my vision board because when I think about God using me, I think, did you know what you were doing, God, when you picked me? Are we talking about the same person here? God? But it's true. He uses just the craziness to make sense of the chaos. And I love that about God because he's always got an adventure. He's always got something up his sleeve. You know, something to wake us up and to make us live full out. Where we can't walk by sight, we've got to walk by faith. That's that faith filled life. Especially if you're a mom. I feel like you can't be, you can't be high strung and be super strung out and be like a nervous wreck if you're a mom because you're going to drive yourself crazy. You've got to lighten up and enjoy this life. You've got to realize it's gonna be crazy. But I, I want that life. I don't know about you, but I don't, I don't want a life where I arrive at the end with as few cuts and bruises and scrapes as possible. Like, that's not the point of our life. Everyone's gonna die. I mean, I don't know if you realize that or not, but eventually everybody's gonna, gonna give out. Like it has an expiration date. Your life has an expiration date. And I don't want to think about trying to do this as safe as possible. Kind of like if you have a jar mayonnaise, that mayonnaise has an expiration date. You can keep it safe tucked in the back of your fridge. Don't ever use it. It'll still have an expiration date. And if you don't use it up, it's just going to get stinky, gross, smooth, smelly. It'll probably make you sick if you try to eat it because it's expired. Okay. Or you can take that jar, mayonnaise and you can make the most delicious chicken salad. Or you can make, have you ever had, made like a chocolate mayonnaise cake? Like you use that as a fat. It's so rich and delicious and. Oh, you could eat like. Well, you can't eat the whole thing because it's so rich. Like that deep chocolate cake with mayonnaise. Okay. I don't know why I use mayonnaise. I don't know. What's that? Why, that's the first thing in my head. But what I'm telling you is everything has expiration date. You can make this amazing, delicious, deep, dark, rich chocolate cake, or you can just let it expire and sour and get moldy and not eat it up. Hey, mama. We'll get right back to the podcast, but did you know there is an entire online university just for moms? And if you're ready to get radical results in your life, just go to mommastery.com that's M O M M A S T E R-Y dot com. Make sure you check it out and take your free quiz. Again, that's mommastery.com M O M M A S T-E-R-Y.com now back to the podcast. Use up your life. Like, hold onto your butts. Because this life is a crazy life. And it should be. It should have hills and valleys. It should be explained. Explosive. It should. Everything should be experienced. It should be an adventure. I think it was Helen Keller who said, life is either an adventure or it's nothing. You're either going to make that delicious cake or that amazing chicken salad, or you're not going to make anything. And if it is still going to expire. Hold on to your butts, man. Trust God with this craziness. He knows how to give you the adventure that you want. He knows how to wake up that desire that maybe, just maybe, you've pushed aside because you thought other things are more important. And now you're caught in the urgent, and now you're caught up meeting demands, and now you're caught up trying to balance everything. Instead of having that adventure that God has called you to. He gave you one life. You have one turn on this earth. Hold on to your butts because it can. It's going to be fun one for me, it's either an adventure or it's fun or. Or it's nothing. I don't want life to be nothing for you. I don't want it to expire. And there's nothing in that dash between your birth and your death. Like, what is your dash gonna mean? What is that dash going to hold? Is it going to be all the adventures and the truths and the experiences and, and the impact you can make and the. And the lives you could touch? Or is it just going to be a dash? Come on. I would go for the chocolate cake, okay? Any day. I would go for the chocolate cake. It's going to expire. Hold on to your butts because God wants you to live a full, enjoyable life. And you're probably saying, hannah, if you say that phrase one more time, I'm going to lose it. I might just say it one more time or so because I want you to understand this. By the way, if you want to watch Jurassic park this weekend, the OG the original gangsta Jurassic park, you totally have my permission. Great movie. Okay, here's the second thing. That line in Jurassic park is just funny. I don't. I mean, they didn't, like. I don't even think they meant for it to be funny. But here's this intense scene, right? Oh, my gosh, are the dinosaurs going to escape? And is. Is. Are these people even alive? Are they dead? We don't know what's going to happen if we turn this electricity off or all the dinosaurs going to escape. Oh, my gosh. Like this intense scene and he just puts down a cigarette and says, hold on to your butts like that. See, I said it again. But I think that is the attitude we need to have in life. We need to have that attitude where when things are intense and we don't know what's going to happen and things are hanging in the balance and oh, my gosh, this is freaking me out. Lighten up. We need to be able to laugh about things. Because you know what? You're going to get to the other side of this. Whatever you're. If you're going through a stressful time right now, listen to me. You're going to get to the other side of it. I promise you this is not going to kill you. And if it kills you, you better have lived a full life, baby. But you're going to get to the other side of this. What are you going to do in the meantime? Are you going to, like, cringe and worry and lose out on sleep and stress out and yell at your family and call everyone you know and share your worries? You're going to pray out of desperation or are you going to know that God has your back? Lighten up. You need to enjoy this life. You have it. Once you go around on this earth one time. You can't go around tied up in knots. When things get tight. This is when you have to step back and get the right perspective. Hold on to your butts like it's gonna be fun. We're gonna get to the other side. You're either gonna get to the other side a nervous wreck, sick to your stomach with anxiety, migraines, or you're going to get to the other side. Laughing, joking, having fun, y'. All. My dog has now chased a deer off our property. I'm watching him do that. This is cracking me up. And the deer is about to turn around and attack him. This is like a saga. This may be part one of the saga. Will Fitz attack the deer, or will the deer attack Fitz? You got the two things right. Live your life. Lighten up. Oh, my gosh. Cause you never know when a deer might attack you. And you've seen your last days. Okay, so there's some crazy deer out there, guys. So hold onto your butts.
