The Care & Keeping Of A Palace: Part 1
3 May 2024 · 31 min
In this solo coaching episode for Mom Master University, Hannah Healy introduces her "Care & Keeping of Your Palace" series, a faith‑based framework that helps mothers transform any living space into a "palace" fit for a queen. She begins by presenting the "faith formula" (thought → feeling → action → result) and explains that true change starts in the mind, aligning thoughts with God’s truth. Healy then outlines four core "palace thoughts"—Pride, Protection, Perfection (being perfected), and Prudence—each paired with a specific biblical‑rooted mantra and a queen‑identity statement. She illustrates each thought with personal anecdotes (e.g., growing up in a 1,400‑sq‑ft home, living in subsidized housing) and practical advice on setting standards, cultivating elegance, and completing tasks. Throughout, she reinforces the idea that a mother is the "thermostat" of her household and that embracing a queen identity leads to a home that reflects God’s handiwork. The episode concludes with a promotional call‑to‑action to enroll in Mom Master University for deeper coaching and community support.

Welcome to Mom Mastery University. The education every mom should have had but didn't. I'm Hannah Healy, America's number one mom coach. And class is now in session. All right, guys, Master Moms, I am so excited you are here. This is part one of a brand new coaching series inside Mom Master University called the care and keeping of your palace. That's right. We're going to learn how to create a home that is fit for a queen. See, I believe you're a queen. Yes, Queen. That is who you are. And now we're going to learn how to take that queen mentality, that identity of who you are and whose you are, and let it just flow out into the world around you, which exists first and foremost in your home. You see, I believe that any home can be a dream home. I remember when I had, you know, just, just seven little ones, right, and, and now they're all grown. But when they were all young, our home was really small in relative terms. I mean, at the time, I didn't think it was that small. We lived in about 1400 square feet, all nine of us. And I always told myself that I can't go anywhere in my home without touching someone I love. And it may have been small in some people's terms, but, you know, it was a perfect home for me and I was content. But it didn't allow me to stop dreaming for more, right, to expand my vision on, on what could be possible. But I always approach it with the, with a feeling of gratitude. And I truly did create my palace right there in 1400 square feet. And so no matter if you're living in a small home, a big home, whether you live in a, in, on land, on sea, like on high altitudes, on low altitudes, it doesn't matter where you live, but we're going to learn how to develop that identity and let it flow out into Your home so you can create a palace right where you are. Okay, so we're going to start on part one. Creating your dream home, that home that is fit for a queen. We're going to learn how to start thinking palace thoughts. Because you can't create a palace in your home until you start learning how to think like a queen and start ruling like a queen and start operating your home like a queen. That all starts in your head. So we're going to learn how to think palace thoughts. So let's go ahead and dive into this. And I'm sure you know, if you've been tuning into Mom Master University trainings for any time at all, you're probably already, already familiar with that core process that we always use called the faith formula. Now, the faith formula just goes like this. Whatever you think becomes how you feel affects what you do and results in what you have. It's a think, feel, do have. And that's the faith formula because we all see that it goes back to basically, you know, how God works. We learn from scripture that everything that is seen comes out of that which is unseen. So everything that is created that we can experience here in life as our circumstances, as the physical realm around us always came from the supernatural realm, the invisible realm, and that is in that place of thought. So thought creates things. And that's what we learned in Romans. We learned, don't be conformed to the pattern of this world that always thinks you have to change the outside. If I could just get a bigger home, right? If I just had more money to buy nicer furniture, if I just had more updated appliances, like whatever that is. When we think that way, we're getting caught up in our circumstances and trying to change the result instead of going to the root and changing our thought that created the result. So if you're not familiar with the faith formula, definitely keep tuning in. Because all of our trainings are based on that. We change the way we think so we can change the world that we create. See, it happens inside our head before it can ever happen inside our lives. So if you want any change you want in your life, whether it's, I want to change my marriage, I want to change my money, I want to change my, my family, I want to. I want to change my health. It's always going to start with the thoughts that you're thinking. And so that's where all of our training starts. That's where all of our coaching centers on, is we're going to start with the thought is starting with the Root so you can change the fruit if you want to. If you want more experience with this, more knowledge in this area of the faith formula. And there's an entire series inside our faith trainings called Roots and Fruits. So if you want to tune into that, it'll. I think that that's a very transformative coaching program. So get inside Mom Master University. But basically, if you are having trouble in managing your home, if you're having trouble in the clutter in the organization. And remember, we're focused on our palace today, we're focusing on home. This is under the pillar of fortress, which is how we manage our homes. So that's where we're going to be hanging out this month. And if you're having problems in that area, we have to go back to the thoughts. So that's where we're going to camp out, is thinking palace thoughts. And I want to show you there's actually four palace thoughts that we're going to dive into and learn how to internalize those inside us so we can start to affect our home. So the first one is pride. Now, wait a minute, Hannah. Pride. I thought that was sinful. I thought pride was wrong. Well, pride focused on yourself is wrong. It's just exaggerated focus on you as a creator. Right. And that it can be good or bad. It's like, oh, look at me, how awesome I am. Or. Or it could be like, oh, I'm nothing. Don't even. I can't do anything either way. It's still an exaggerated focus on yourself. That's what pride is. And proverbs tell us that pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit goes before a great fall. Right. So we're talking about taking pride in whose we are not who we are, right, but whose we are if we know that we have the presence of God within us, that just like Paul, he said, I don't boast in, like what I can do in the flesh. I boast in and who lives inside me and what I do with the power that is in me through Christ Jesus. So I want you to think about taking pride in and instead of distorting it to be an exaggerated focus on yourself, why not line it up with God's word and develop a sense of pride over your position as a mom, your position in the home, your position as a child of God, your position as a queen, Right, According to who dwells inside you. So I want to give you one thought with each one of these areas. We're going to just. We're like four areas of thought. I want to give you actually a thought you can hold on to, to practice. So a thought you can hold onto in terms of pride in your home is. My home reveals God's handiwork and all the details. So think about that. My home reveals God's handiwork and all the details. Is that self pride? No, that is pride in your home because it is a manifestation of. Of everything that God wants to do in you and through you. So it's boasting in what is possible through that relationship with Jesus. So we always go back to Scripture, right, to reinforce anything we're talking about. And Ephesians 2:10 tells us we are God's own handiwork, his workmanship recreated in Christ Jesus, born anew, that we may do those good works which God predestined and planned beforehand for us, taking paths which he prepared ahead of time that we should walk in them, living. Check this out. Living the good life, which he prearranged and made ready for us to live. What? That sounds like a palace life to me. Living the good life. Say good life. Yeah, good life. It is a good life, right? It is a good life, which he prearranged and he made ready for me to live. So what if he already went before you? He set this home where you live, he set that home aside. Whether you're living in it temporarily or you're going to be in there, you know, for decades. It doesn't matter. Wherever you are right now, wherever you reside, it could be a hotel room. Wherever you reside right now, he set it aside for you to exemplify that good life that he already planned for you to live. So I want you to look around your home today and look for those areas that could not be manifesting God's handiwork. So if we practice this thought, like, think about the mess on the dining room table, or think about the clutter at the bottom of the stairs, or think about all the laundry piled up and the mildew that inevitably forms. Right? No judgment here, but I want you to use this thought as you look around your home and say, you know, my home reveals God's handiwork and all the details, right? Look around. Does it reveal God's handiwork? That's where we take this thought and we develop a pride in our homes that that will motivate us to go in and start affecting change. So understand that something that always. I love to go to little mantras and, you know, my mom brain hacks that push me forward. One mom brain hack is the phrase, how I do anything is how I do everything. I want you to think about that. How I do anything is how I do everything. You are characterized by how you make decisions, and the little decisions, the big decisions, they're all based in the same identity. So when you get that identity as a queen, you can say, you know what? How I keep my kitchen is going to be how I show up for my family is going to be how I show up on my purpose is how I show up in this world is how I show up for God, right? So nothing is small in God's kingdom. Everything is just revealing more of who you believe yourself to be. So how I do anything is how I do everything. So start having this mentality of, you know what? My home reveals God's handiwork. I'm going to. I'm going to clean that up a little bit. I'm going to empty. I'm going to empty the dishwasher, load it back up. I'm going to catch up on my laundry. Because my home reveals God's handiwork, and I want to show you that nothing is small. Luke 16:1012 tells us, One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much. And one who is dishonest and very little is also dishonest and much. If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust you to the true riches. And if you have not been faithful in that which is another's, who will give you that which is your own. You know, the home we live in now is. Is very spacious. We live in a quite large home. And, you know, it's got all the bells and whistles, very fancy. But if I had not exemplified God in my 1400 square feet. I don't know if I'd be in one that's. That's this big, right? It's. We have to. We can't think. If I just had a bigger house, I would manage it better. No, how are you managing where you are? I don't care if it's a hotel room, if it's a. If it's a trailer, if it's like I lived in a 1400 square foot house. If you are not showing up as a queen in that palace, why would God promote you to another one? So we have to show our faithfulness, and that's part of taking pride in where you are. I'll never forget one time, the first place that Blair and I lived in. It was a little, tiny, rinky dink townhome apartment in the hood. Legit in the hood. Like, subsidized housing. Like, we. We lived where. Where I had to keep the window shut so that my. My baby wouldn't get a contact high because of all the people that smoked weed outside. I'm being totally for real with you. And I remember the first time my parents came over. We were meeting them at a restaurant, and we drove them over to where our little townhome was in that complex. And my parents followed me. And I was. I remember being so embarrassed that they were going to see where I was living because it was kind of like a very slum area. I kept it beautiful. Like, you would walk in, and you feel like you were transported into this, like, house beautiful. I use what I had. I use what I could find at different donation centers. I just, like, pulled together magic out of nothing, right? So it's different when you stepped inside, but it was really one of the only apartments that we could afford at the time. We had nothing. And I remember I stepped outside my car, and I kind of had this, like, facial expression of, like, kind of embarrassment and shame. And I saw my mom, and I saw her in the car, and she got so mad. I saw that angry mama face. You know, she made this angry mama face. I'm like, oh, no, I'm in trouble. Is she mad about where I'm living? Like, what's happening? She got out of her car, she marched herself over to me. She pointed her finger at me, and she said, hannah, don't you ever be embarrassed of where you live. She was mad at me because I was not taking pride and where I lived. She's like, you make any home, your. Your kingdom, you make it beautiful. And I remember, like, that really like, kind of shot something through me at that moment. It's like, no, it's not where I live. It's how I manage where I live. It's how I show up where I live. And I'll never forget that day. It really changed my perspective on what it means to be a homemaker, to make your home anywhere. That today it truly, it doesn't matter if Blair and I are in a hotel room. And for the night, the bed's going to be made. In the morning, it's going to be cleaned up. Like, the maid servants will come in the hotel room and they think they. They already been there, right? Because of how we choose to leave our surroundings. Because what we do is for a higher purpose. It's not just to get by, is to show who we are in God's kingdom. So I want you to understand and capture this identity. A queen is proud of her palace. Like, I want you to say that to yourself. I'm a queen and I'm proud of my palace. We're diving into these four areas, and each one is going to have a thought associated with it and a queen's identity. And the queen's identity is a queen is proud of her palace. So be proud of that palace. Wherever you are planted, that's where you bloom. You heard the saying, like, bloom where you're planted. Well, plant where you bloom too, right? And so we go to where our natural tendencies are as a queen. And wherever we are, the. That's where we bring our queen ship out into that space. So that first pride. Take pride in your home. Because a queen is proud of her palace. Now, the second feeling that we're going to. I mean, the second thought that we're going to think is protection. So we are the guardians of our home. And I want you to think about this thought right here. I am the guardian of my home, and I set the standards. We have this. You know, what a queen says goes, really? In her home. It's your home. It's your palace. What you say goes. You are the queen. You are the matron of that place. You are the head, right? And we know that, you know, husband's the head. I love the saying in. In. Well, what was the movie? Oh, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, where she was so frustrated at her father's decision, and the mom said, listen, listen, Tula, the father is the head, but the woman is the neck. And she can turn that head any way she wants. So it's true, we have quite a bit of influence in our homes. It's like our domain. So I want you to think like this is a thought of authority, just like pride is a thought of ownership, protection is a thought of authority. Take authority in your space. So I want you to think about this like God is our first authority. That's one thing I really want you to dial in on. Because I say I see a lot of moms as believing it's like God and then the husband and then they're down here, right? But. But we are. Like there is in the Bible says there's no Jew, there's no Greek, there's no male, there's no female in the kingdom of God. So really it's God is the authority, and the husband and wife fall underneath that. Now, this is something we have to understand as women. And there's a lot of trainings on this as well. Inside Mom Master University is that God is our first authority. So it's lovely to have like the covering of your husband. However, if the covering moves off of the alignment of God, your first authority is not to your husband, but it's to God as long as everything is lined up in his will and in his kingdom and in line with His Word. Right? So we have to understand that, yes, I love having the covering of my husband, but my ultimate covering and my ultimate authority is God and I answer to him first. And that I've always held this idea that if I answer to God first, He smooths out my marriage and brings it into line underneath Him. So just have this idea like your first authority is God. And when we line ourselves up under him, he works all the details out in our life. And so. And that might step on some people's toes. It's okay because remember what I've always told you about coming to any of my coaching. You have to come with steel toe boots and big girl pants and I promise you'll be okay. But I want to share this verse with you. This is Psalm 127:1, and it says, except the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it. Except the Lord keeps the city. The watchman wakes, but in vain. So understand this, this is the identity, the queen's identity that we're going to go to is a queen guards her kingdom, a queen guards her kingdom. I want you to consider, I don't know if you've ever seen the movie the Godfather, but, you know, whatever he says pretty much goes right or else, right? Well, we're not going to rule like that, but we have to develop this ownership, this authority. Authority, this Protection of our domains. It's like, no, I am the palace keeper. I'm not just the homemaker. I am the palace keeper. And what I say goes. I can set the standards. So I want you to think about, if we were to truly step into that position as guardians of the palace, then we're like this. This is how we run our family. This is how we run our home. This is. These are our standards. And it's good to, like, set time with your family to get very clear on that. Something that was very important as I raised my children was to develop a family identity. So often we would talk about the Keeley family, the Keeley kids, how we do things, how we make decisions. And so they would know ever since they were growing up. No. In the Keeley family, we love one another. In the Keeley family, we forgive quickly. And the Keely family, we always show each other honor and respect. And the Keeley family, we always say, I love you. In the Keeley family, we always apologize quickly if we dishonored anyone. Like, we have to know the identity of the family so you can guard and protect. And that way, if there's anything coming in that does not line up with that family identity, you can say no. No. In these walls, in our palace, this is how we run things. One time there was this, I'll never forget. We. We always had our open home for children. We still do open open house policy where kids can bring any of their friends over. And one time there, there is a. There's a friend over that my kids had and she started the movie Chucky. Do you remember that Chucky movie? That, like where. That. Where that doll kind of came to life. And I remember I walked in, I saw that, I was like, hey, guys, you know what? This is not something that we watch. We just don't. This isn't what we allow. And so we're going to turn that off. We're going to turn on something different. But basically. And my kids were like, oh, okay, yeah. Because I mean, that's not what we do here in this palace. We don't watch Chucky. So things like that. So, I mean, they were little. They were much too little to be watching something like that. But it's important to understand, like, what your standards are before you can really execute them. And in your home. So give yourself the freedom to set the standards. Say, no, this is how it goes. I am the guardian of my home. I am the guardian of my family, and I am setting the standards. And never forget, the mom is the Thermostat. And you know what I mean when I say that the thermostat always determines the temperature of the home. Like, we are not a thermometer. A thermometer just reveals what the temperature is. Excuse me, but a thermostat sets the temperature. So we are the thermostat as goes the mom, goes the rest of the home, goes the rest of the family. So you have to get clear on your standards, set those and dial those in so that you can now say, nope, this is just how we do things. I'm the guardian. The third area of our thoughts is going to be perfection. Now, I know perfection sounds excruciating. And I want you to understand, first and foremost, it's not about being perfect. It's about being perfected. Okay? We are always growing, we're always transforming, we're always evolving. And so none of us is perfect. There was one perfect person. That was Jesus. But he tells us, be perfect as I am perfect. What? That. If you look at that tense of the verb, it's actually be perfected. Be always in the process of striving toward what he has set the standard for. And so I want you to get this thought. And. And here's this thought. My home is elegant, nurturing, and luxurious because I have an extravagant father. So this is kind of a thought of superiority, not arrogance. But I'm going to operate at the highest level. Elegance, luxury, It's. It's organized, it is nurturing. These are the. The identity, personality traits, kind of, if you want to. If you want to call it that, of my palace, because. Not because of what you do and who you are, but because we serve an extravagant, loving father. He is generous. He is good. And so we can develop this identity and characteristic where we can let things that are inferior go so we can let more things that are superior into our life. So I want you to go to First Corinthians, 1558. It says, Therefore, my beloved brethren, be firm, steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, Always being superior. Check that out. That's the Bible, baby. That wasn't me. That was the Bible. Always being superior, excelling, doing more than enough in the service of the Lord, knowing and being continually aware that your labor in the Lord is not futile, it is never wasted or to no purpose. Now, I want you to get this queen's identity of a queen is elegant. She is. She's just. She's just elegant. She just walks in elegance. She walks in luxury. So I want you to start thinking from this luxurious standpoint in your home. So even at, like, you know, when we had barely any money, I remember I would want less of stuff and more of the nice things. For example, we had one sheet set for a bed. It was a nice, like, high thread count Egyptian cotton. I didn't have any other sheets for our bed. We had that one sheet set because I would rather have one really nice, nice sheet set than like three inferior ones. So this is part of that identity of a queen. A queen is elegant. She has the best of the best, right? So wouldn't it be better to get rid of the things that aren't serving you at the highest level and make room for being more choosy, more just operating in that superiority of like, no, I'm a queen and I can allow the best things in my life. Now, that doesn't mean you have to have a lot of money. It means you have to have a lot of elegance. I like to choose what is best, and I'm willing to go without so that I can have the best. Think about that. If that begins to characterize your entire life, you no longer have clutter, you're no longer having a lot of stuff. You can let it go, you can give it away. And now you're making room for just nicer things because a queen is elegant. Right. Now, this last, this fourth area is prudence. And this is a very, very. Like this thought can help you complete tasks being prudent. So I want you to practice this thought. And it is. I practice habits of completion that allow my home to run effortlessly. So I want to show you where the Proverbs 31 woman actually did practice habits of completion. If you look at Proverbs 31:16, it says she considers a new field before she buys or accepts it. Expanding prudently and not courting neglect of her present duty by assuming other duties. And with her savings of time and strength, she plants fruitful vines in her vineyard. So I want to break that down for you because a lot of people think like, she was. She's a real estate investor. Absolutely. She was a real estate investor, but it said she was prudent. So she looked at potential opportunities, and before she would buy them, she would go to her property that she already had and make sure she was taking full advantage of the seed that she already planted and the space that she had available to plant something else. So what is that telling me? I know the disco ball syndrome. I know all the distractions. Well, let me just abandon this and I'LL start doing that. People do that with businesses all the time. They'll work in a business for six months, nine months, 12 months. I'm not seeing it quick enough. Let me run off to another business and they'll start that. And then six months, nine months, 12 months, and they'll move on to another thing. And they never prosper and collect a harvest because they don't stay in a field long enough to do it. So this is part of prudence. And that's not just like in business. That is with every task in your home. So I want you to think about in a palace. A palace has a staff that makes sure everything is done and the system is in operation. So before you decide we need to take on a new project, we. We need to. I need to leave this and start another thing, right? That whole disco ball syndrome. I want you to think I can actually get a return where I am. I can complete what I'm doing. I can finish the task at hand. And here's that identity I want you to get to. A queen never quits. A queen never quits. I want you to say that out loud. A queen never quits. I'm a queen. I don't quit. I will stay at a task till it's done. This starts to now practicing these habits of completion. I can finish the laundry and tie a bow around it, right? That bow tie. Mom Brain hack. Priceless. I can. Before I can start another project. I can complete what I'm doing right now. Before I start trying to get more curriculum for my kids, I'm going to use the books and the and the workbooks I have right now. Because what we often do is we trick ourselves into thinking we're making progress by just taking on something new when actually we're neglecting our current duties and where God has placed us right there. So we're not going to allow the drama. We're not going to allow the distraction. We're going to spend this week practicing our palace thoughts. Right? And that's in the area of pride. It's in the area of protection, it's in the area of perfection, and it's in the area of prudence. We're going to camp out there. Now make sure this is just like one third of it. Okay? If you are listening to this right now or watching this video, congratulations. You are doing one third of the assignment. So now it's time to get inside Mom Master University and do the extended work. That's me breaking down everything inside this. We do the work together. We learn how to practice these thoughts, how to execute these thoughts, and what it looks like in your home. We do all of this inside the extended work, so don't neglect that right? Remember, a queen never quits. Practice those habits of completion. Get inside, do the extended work, and then we're going to share it inside our Facebook group. I love you, my friend.
