The END of Overwhelm! | God's Secret Strategy for Peace & Power
8 Aug 2025 · 21 min
In this live episode of the Crazy Blessed show, host Hannah Keeley addresses the pervasive feeling of overwhelm that many experience in areas such as parenting, homeschooling, health, finances, and ministry. She shares personal stories of homeschooling seven children and a mysterious health crisis that was resolved by her chiropractor daughter, illustrating how natural attempts to manage overwhelm often fall short. Keeley then pivots to a "supernatural" solution rooted in Scripture, focusing on Psalm 61:2 and Psalm 62:2. She interprets the lowercase "rock" in Psalm 61 as the overwhelming problem itself and the uppercase "Rock" in Psalm 62 as the divine, internal source of strength (Jesus). The core teaching is that God does not remove the problem but leads the believer directly to it, so that reliance on the internal "Rock" (Christ) grows. Keeley emphasizes that true transformation comes from facing the problem, surrendering control, and inviting Jesus to be Lord of one’s life, concluding with a prayer of salvation and an invitation for listeners to reach out for further help.

Foreign. Hey, guys. Welcome to Crazy Blessed. This is a show going live every Wednesday at noon Eastern. So I want you to set your alarms. I want you to, like, make sure you tune in, because you don't always see all of this stuff. You don't hear it in the podcast. You may not see it on the video, but this is live, so I can't edit any of it. Hey, will you hand me my Barbie devotion book right there? Thank you. Appreciate it. Yes. This not a devotion. It's a journal. It's my. It's my journal, so look good. Okay, cool. Not me, the video quality, but me too. Do I look good? All right, you can. You can leave the comments. Thank you, sweetheart. You just leave it open. The dogs come in and out. All right, guys, so we are talking about overwhelm, because I think that's something we have all experienced is overwhelm. And if you're tired of the overwhelm, if you're tired of feeling the stress, and overwhelm doesn't always feel like stress. Overwhelm feels like powerlessness. You know what I'm talking about? Where you're like, I. I don't have a solution. I don't know what to do. If I could just figure this out. If I just knew the person who could help me. Like, all these thoughts come up when we're in that state of overwhelm, and I want to show you today. It's a secret strategy. It's a hidden strategy that I found in the Bible on how to get out of overwhelm. And I wish I had known this back when my kids were little and back when I first started trying to grow a ministry and first started trying to grow a business, because so much of it felt overwhelming. There were days with, you know, with my seven kids when they were little, when I was like, I am done. My husband's laughing the other day because I was reminding him, like, I homeschooled all seven kids throughout all of their schooling. And I said, do you remember those days when I would call you and I would say, if. Okay, don't judge me. Okay. But I would say, if you want to see your children alive, you. You better get home right now, because I'm. Mama's about to lose it. Like, there were those days when I felt so overwhelmed. I remember I would like, probably at least every 90 days, there would be a day when I'm like, forget this homeschooling. I'm done. They're going to school. I'm gonna drive them to the bus. Stop tomorrow morning. As if, like, that was even an option. I could just put them on the school bus, like, without any, like, record or anything. But I was. I was like, no, I'm done. No, I. I promise you, this is the last day. I'm never homeschooling these kids again. They don't appreciate it. They won't learn. I'm. I'm overwhelmed. There's that word again, and I'm done. So I don't know if this is the right crowd, right, that I'm talking to today, but if you've ever been trying to accomplish something, teaching your kids, cleaning up and organizing your cluttered, getting out of a sickness that could feel overwhelming. I remember there's this one time I didn't know what was wrong with my body. I was having migraines. I was having. What are they called, hives all over my body. Horrible hives. Like, all these symptoms, and I could not figure out what was going on. And I was trying every. Every diet. I was trying to, like, eliminate everything in that I'm eating. I'm trying, like, we're not even using cleaners where it was. It was ridiculous. No matter what, I couldn't figure out what was going wrong with my body. Now my daughter, who's a chiropractor, diagnosed it and. And amazing. Like, within a couple weeks, it's over. But in that time, I felt overwhelmed. No matter what I tried to do, nothing works. So there is an issue in your life. Growing a business, growing a ministry, dealing with your health, dealing with your home, dealing with your family, teaching your kids somewhere where you have probably felt overwhel. Now, what we do here in the Crazy Bless show is we're all about the supernatural strategies. This is a training platform. This is not. I'm not here to give you information. I'm not here to give you motivation. That is not my intent. My intent is to give you transformation. Because when you apply supernatural strategies that we see in the word of God to natural problems we have in the world, you're going to have a dramatic result. So I am here to make sure that you are trained in supernatural strategies. So to get out of overwhelm, you can chat, GPT this, you can Google it, everyone in the world has. Here are the top 10 ways to get out of overwhelm. And some of that is just not how to fix overwhelm, but how to manage overwhelm. You know what I mean? Like, deep breathing and do. Do a box breath and go outside and meditate and come on. Like, yes, Those might work in the natural world, but when you have a big old fat problem like we've all had, you don't want to manage it anymore. You want to get out of it. You want to fix it, be done with it. So I want to show you what I found in the Bible the other day that is going to 100% change your life if you've ever felt or are feeling overwhelmed. Okay, now in Psalm 61, I want to show you something, Psalm 61:2. And I'm going to read from the classic Amplified. Check this out. It says, from the end of the earth, will I cry to you when my heart is overwhelmed. There's that word. When my heart is overwhelmed and fainting. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Yes, a rock that is too high for me. Okay, I want you to hold on to that. I'm going to explain it. I'm going to break it down for you, because it probably doesn't mean anything right now, but I'm going to show you a hidden meaning in this verse. But in order to do that, I need to move you over to Psalm 62. Guys, you're gonna love this. Sorry, I gotta do a little happy dance. When I discovered this is like, oh, my gosh. This is the end of overwhelm. This is the end of overwhelm. As a matter of fact, I think that's what I need to call this podcast, the end of Overwhelm. Because over here. And that's how God's strategies work. They work faster, they work easier. They work like, just. It's. It doesn't need your effort. They just work. So over here in Psalm 62, verse 2, same number, 61. Two is the one I just read you. 62. Two is the one that I'm reading to you right now. He only is my rock and my salvation, my defense and my fortress. I shall not be greatly moved. Now, you ready for the secret? Okay, if you look at Psalm 62, verse. I mean, I'm sorry, Psalm 61, verse 2. That rock is a lowercase R. Lead me to when I'm overwhelmed. When my heart is overwhelmed and fainting. We all know what that feels like. Lead me to the rock, lowercase r, that is higher than I. Yes. A rock that is too high for me. So I want you to think of that situation, you, that is creating overwhelm in your life. I want you to think about. Maybe it's. Maybe you're struggling in your business, maybe you're struggling financially. That is a rock that is Too high for me. I can't figure it out. I. I don't have any strategies to get around it or over it or under it or. Or disintegrate it. I. I've been seeking help for it. No matter what I do, nothing works. I am overwhelmed. This rock is too high for me. This rock of homeschooling my kids. This rock of managing my money, this rock of building my business. This rock of a marital problem that we're having. We have the same problem over and over and over. This rock of. Of trying to get my home organized. This rock of this health condition that no matter what, I can't get rid of. So I want you to think about that rock. Hold it in your head right now. This is. This is like an interactive podcast. This is an interactive show, okay? We do real life strategy here. We execute it in real time. Think about that situation. It is too high for me. It's bigger than me. And that's what this verse says. So when my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock. Lowercase heart that is higher than I. A rock that's too high for me. So basically, here's the cry of the heart when I'm overwhelmed. God, don't take my overwhelm from me. Don't comfort me in the place of overwhelm. Don't even give me the solution in the place of overwhelm. Now that seems so counterintuitive. Doesn't God want to help us? Doesn't he want to comfort us? Doesn't he want to make us feel better? Well, tell you what. God is way more concerned with your character than he is with your comfort. So, yes, he's your comforter, but he's your comforter when you finally had the surgery. So we have a great physician, okay? He can heal your body. He can heal your money situation. He can heal your marriage. He can heal the relationships with people in your family. He. He can heal your business, your ministry, your home. He can heal it, but he's also the comforter, which is that kind of holy spirit anesthesia. So he only applies the anesthesia when we're having surgery? If he applies the anesthesia. Did I say that wrong? Anesthesia. That's hard to say. If he applies the anesthesia. Anesthesia. Now, now I'm nervous about saying that. I can't say. If he applies to anesthesia without doing a surgery, then we. Then we're just tripping. Then we're just like, hey, let's, you know, become a. A Mormon wife and. And have a laughing Gas party. Now, that's. That's all we're doing. The Holy Spirit is there for way more than you tripping out. It's way more than you there to have a laughing gas party and for you to get comforted and in life, the Holy Spirit anesthesia. The comfort is there when you require the great physician to do the surgery. So if we're led to a situation, if we. If we're in a situation, if we're overwhelmed by a situation, literally, the psalmist here is saying, lead me to that situation that feels so much bigger than me. Don't take it away from me. Don't take the problem away. Lead me to it. Now why would the psalmist say, lead me to that problem that's bigger than me? Is he. Is. Has he gone bananas? Is he crazy? Does he. Is he just, like a masochist? Does he just want, like, oh, like, beat me up, tear me up, like, oh, punish me, Lord? It's like, what's. What's wrong with this dude? He understands the only way to get past the problem is to learn from the problem, to get through the problem. So what he's saying here, okay, I'm going to pull all this together. He's saying, don't lead me away from the situation when I'm overwhelmed and my heart is fainting in me, lead me directly to the very situation that. That is causing the overwhelm. Because this situation is blocking the freedom and the abundance and the joy that I can live on the other side of it. So I, I. If I can't find a way around it, God, lead me straight up to it so that the only thing I have is you. So I will become more conscious of you in me than the problem in front of me. Because we know greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. So if greater is he that is in you than he that's in the world, we're never gonna know how great he is in us if we don't face the great problems that are facing us right now. If we avoid the problem, if we distract ourselves from the problem, we're never going to learn the greatness of the power and the authority in us to overcome the problem. The secret to overwhelm is, is to overcome, not to pull back, not to be afraid, not to just always seek comfort in that place of discomfort, but to face the discomfort, have the surgery, apply the anesthesia, and learn from it. We will never grow. Please listen to me, just this one. If you just. If you just know this one thing that's about to come out of my mouth, it's going to change everything we. I. I almost forgot it. This powerful truth that's going to change your whole life. Almost forgot. No. Mom brain. Mom brain alert. Okay, here's the truth. You will never change in a place of comfort. You won't do it. You won't do it. You can tell me you'll do it all day long, but I have studied human behavior and I have coached and I have done this work for over three decades. And here's what I know to be true. No one ever change changes unless they get uncomfortable enough to do so. So that discomfort comes from going straight up to the problem, facing it head on and just worshiping at his feet and saying, God, it's too big for me. I acknowledge it. And God, I right now, I release this, this me trying to figure it out. I release the pressure of me trying to know how to get through it. I release it all, God. And I'm not going to look at this problem anymore. I'm going to come face up to it. So the only option I have is to go in where you are. Don't forget you are the temple of the Holy Spirit. The only option you have when you come head up to that problem and you quit distracting yourself from it. You quit making excuses for it and you quit avoiding it, and you quit talking smack about it. As soon as you come face to face, the only option you give yourself is, is God. I'm just gonna, I'm just gonna. I'm just gonna go to you. I'm just gonna worship you. You are the only option I have right now. This problem's too big for me. So when I'm overwhelmed, lead me to that problem. Make me face that problem head on. Because then. Psalm 62. 2. You ready for this? Are you ready for your mind to go? Watch this. Psalm 62. 2. He only. He only. Not you figuring it out, not you complaining about it. Not someone coming in to rescue you. Not some mentor or guru that you, that you get their advice from. No, he only think about that word is my rock. And there we have a capital R, Capital R greater. See that is in you, capital R rock than he that is in the world. Lowercase rock. There is a rock in front of you that's overwhelming you. Don't forget it is less powerful than the rock, uppercase R, that is inside you, baby, you. He only is my rock in my salvation. Capital S, my defense, capital D and my fortress, capital F. I shall not Be greatly moved here. I'm telling you, stop being moved by the rock in front of you. That is threatening overwhelm. Maybe it's threatening financial ruin. Maybe it's threatening divorce. Maybe it's threatening disease. Maybe it's threatening, like. Okay, all right. Face it. See if it's really true. You've been. You've been talking about long enough. Face it and see if it's really true. Because lined up with the word of God, those things that scare us and provoke us and create the most overwhelm, they go strangely dim in the light of his glory and grace. The things of earth that threaten to overwhelm us grow strangely dim as soon as you turn your focus from the rock in front of you to the rock within you. And that is Jesus who dwells inside of you. And if he doesn't dwell inside you, let's change that right now. Right now, this second. Don't wait another moment. Pray this prayer with me. Jesus, thank you for dying for me. I make you, Lord of my life, come into my heart. Take my life. Do something with it. Amen. Done, sealed, finished. Okay? That's your first step. Because if you. You can't face the rock, you're gonna have to figure your own way through that rock in front of you if you don't have Jesus inside you. So first step is Jesus has to be the Lord of your life. You will not know. I remember my husband before he was a believer, we were on a date, and I was like, dude, Jesus is my first love. Like, sorry, if you're not on board here. We will never be a thing. And strangely enough, he got really hungry to hear about the gospel at that point. I don't know if he was hungry for me or hungry for Jesus, but. And I remember explaining to him, it's like, I told you so much about Jesus. I told you so much about my faith. I said, at this point, it's like trying to explain color to a blind person. You only know when you know, and that only comes out of a relationship. And sure enough, pray the prayer of salvation. Let Jesus in his heart. And it all just was sublime from that point on. But what I'm telling you is that's the first step. You will always be consumed by the rock in front of you. You'll always feel overwhelmed. You'll always be struggling. You'll always be flailing. You'll always be like, imagine being your own God, trying to figure out your own problems, trying to solve your own issues, trying to become your own rescuer. No I don't want that life. I want this life. Psalm 62. Two that says, he is my rock, my salvation, my defense, and my fortress. And therefore I'm not greatly moved. Don't be moved by that rock in front of you. It's just there to help you now retrain your focus to the rock inside of you, which is Jesus. As soon as we can switch our focus, all of a sudden that rock goes away. We can't beat down the rock. We can't shovel our way under the rock. That thing that is creating the most pain for you is actually being. Is there instrumentally. It's there intentionally by God to. To help you learn how to turn to God who is within you, for the power and the authority to make that rock in front of you obliterate. You don't have to fight your own battles anymore. We are led to battles so that we reveal the power that we have as believers. And I hope this helps you today. I hope this helps you with Overwhelm and. And we just. We just put an end to it. Whatever's overwhelming you right now is not. I. It probably isn't demonic, to be honest. It's probably there by design to help you learn a new strategy of depending upon God in a way you have never depended on him before. He is your all in all. He only. Don't forget that word only. He only is my rock and my salvation. Therefore, you're not going to be greatly moved from this point forward. This, my friend, is the end of Overwhelm. I love you. I'm praying for you. Drop me a message and let me know if this helped you, because there's a lot more where this came from. Bye Bye, my friends.
