In this faith‑based motivational podcast, host Hannah Keeley shares how the character Bert, the chimney‑sweep from Mary Poppins, became her childhood hero and taught her the power of self‑creation. She contrasts Bert’s ordinary, self‑designated roles with the magical Mary Poppins, using the story to illustrate that anyone can choose their identity and purpose. Keeley then links this principle to biblical truth, recounting the feeding of the 5,000 and emphasizing Jesus’ command to the disciples to “feed them” as a model of personal responsibility and divine authority. She argues that God has given believers power and authority over health, finances, relationships, and vocation, and that asking for blessings without taking action is ineffective. Throughout, she urges listeners—primarily moms—to examine where they have strayed from God’s directives, repent, and actively pursue the abundant life promised in Scripture. The episode concludes with multiple calls to action, promoting her Mom Mastery programs, the That Mom Show starter kit, and related online resources.

So when I was about nine years old, I found my hero. I watched a movie, and the most unlikely character popped out of the screen and basically became my ambition. You're gonna love this podcast episode. Here's the big question. How are these average, everyday moms getting radical results in their lives? How are they able to transform their health, money, families, homes, and have fun doing it? The trick. Check this out. We're not average. I'm Hannah Keeley, and I'm going to spill our secrets and answer your questions right now in that mom show. All right, so it's true. I was about nine years old and I saw a movie that changed my life. And that movie was Mary Poppins. And oh, by the way, if you listen to my last podcast, remember I was talking about my voice and how I was having such a hard time with it, and I had two choices. Well, guess what? It was awesome. It was awesome. I coughed a little bit on stage, but that's was fantastic. Just pretty proves you can't let the enemy speak to you. You always have to speak louder. Let your voice of the promise be louder than the problem you're facing. But that's not what we're talking about today. But I just had to give you a little wrap up about what actually happened at the event. So I saw Mary Poppins, and I know what you're thinking. I know you're thinking, Mary Poppins, she became your hero. Nope, it wasn't Mary Poppins. And I'll tell you why. Because Mary Poppins had magic and she could snap her fingers and things just happened, you know, and her umbrella floated in her bag, could move and hold, like, all these things. So she was. She was like this magical, almost an untouchable character. But the character that really just popped out of that screen and became my hero, really the most unlikely hero was Bert. Bert the Chimney sweep. So at the tender age of nine, I had a hero, and his name was Burt. He was a chimney sweep. And that became my goal. And here's what inspired me so much. And literally, that movie changed my life. Like, when I was nine years old, my life changed. And the reason that Bert inspired me so much was because he wasn't magic and he created any life he wanted. If he wanted to be a chimney sweep one day, he was a chimney sweep. If he wanted to be an artist the next day, he was an artist. If he wanted to be a, like, whatever he wanted to be, he just decided, today I'm a chimney sweep, today I'm an artist. I don't Know what I'm going to be tomorrow? And that magic just taught me that I could be anything I wanted to be. It was almost like that reality hit me. Like, you know what? He's just, he got chalk and he's drawing on the ground and he's an artist because he says he's an artist. But no one needed to say, bert, you are officially certified as an artist. And he didn't have to go to art academy and he didn't have to hang his certificate on his wall, and he didn't have anyone approve him, and he didn't have to have a showing and people go in and be written up in the paper. He was an artist because he said he was an artist. And he just did that thing he loved, which was create art. The next day he decided, you know what? I'm a chimney sweep. I don't have to go to chimney sweep university. My daddy doesn't have to be a chimney sweep. I don't have to know everything. I can just decide, you know, today I am this. And he was a chimney sweep. And the reason he was a chimney sweep is because he got the best views. He could dance on the rooftops of London. Right? And Bert inspired me so much that it really was my life pivoted after that movie because all I had seen up to that point was experiences of just living what people told you you had to do, or living what was demanded of you, or relegating yourself to some role that didn't fill you. I never got the chance to see, like to be inspired by a life story and to be inspired by, you know what? I'm just calling the shots here. And Bert did that for me. Like he, he showed me the power of self creation. And that's who we are as children of God. He breathed his spirit into us. He's the creator, so he breathed that creative spirit in us. I'll never forget one time when I was reading about when the feeding of the 5,000, which is probably more like 15 or 20,000, you know, but feeding of the 5,000 and, and you know, with the bread and the fish, you're probably already familiar with that story, but there was a little boy with five loaves and two fish, and Jesus blessed it and broke it and they had enough to feed all five, probably a lot more, 5,000 people that day. What a miracle, right? Well, here's the cool thing. And I didn't even realize this till one day I was reading the story and I just read it very, very carefully and looked over every Single line. But his disciples came to Jesus. And Jesus, like, you need to let these people go. Like, it's almost dinner time. They're getting hungry. Like, wrap it up, dude. Right? Like, who tells Jesus to wrap it up? Basically, that's what they're doing. Hey, Jesus, come on. Cut. All right, let's go. Come on, Cut. Roll tape. Let's do this. But that was what they were doing. Like, all right, Jesus, like, you know, come on, wrap it up. They're, they're getting hungry and they need to go find some food, right? This is a remote place. It's like, it would be like us saying, dude, there's like no exits here for like 10 miles. Like, you gotta let these people go early so they can get out there and find some food. But Jesus with his sheer audacity, turns to his disciples and he says, you feed em. Like, if you don't believe me, go to the Bible, look it up. Hey, mama. We'll get right back to the podcast, but did you know there is an entire online university just for moms? If you're ready to get radical results in your life, just go to mom mastery.com, that's M O M M a S T r y dot com. Make sure you check it out and take your free quiz again. That's mommastery.com m o m m a s t r y dot com. Now back to the podcast. He turns to his disciples and he says, you feed them. So basically, I feel like we're that way with life. Like, God, heal my body and restore my finances and make my marriage better and, and help me with all this, all these things I have to do and, and make me more disciplined and, and God just turns around, he's like, you do it. Like I have gifted you. He says in the, in his word that all power and authority I have given you. So don't come crawling to me like I've given it to you. If you're, you know, begging me to heal your body. Come on. What can you do today to heal your body? What can you do today to come into line with the covenant of health and vitality and energy that I have for you? Don't keep coming to me begging. Do it. You do it. It's like, God, I need help with my finances. Okay, you do it. I have gifted you with the power and the authority to create wealth. It says in proverbs, the blessing of the Lord makes R. Whoo. I like that promise. Hallelujah. So he's like, just operate in my blessing. Do Things my way. We can't go through life, have no budget, have uncontrolled spending, not keep any balance, run up our credit cards, buy on whims and never tithe, and then ask God to bless our finances. He's like, girl, you got some work to do. Like, go back there, get wisdom, right? Because wisdom is a principal thing. And all you're getting, get understanding. Like, get the wisdom, please. And you do it. Here's, here's what I, what I think. Here's what I think that God has already given us all the power and authority. Like, he's got. He's got the secret passages, he's got the, the connections. He's got the open doors. But if we're not going to abide by what he tells us to do in His Word, we're never going to be able to access those secret treasures, those hidden passages, those secret connections. We're never going to have access to that because we're not being diligent and responsible with the directives we've been given in His Word. So he's turning to us and he's saying, you do it. That's what. That was a revelation that I got at nine. Like, you know what? Instead of like, wondering what I'm going to be when I grow up and if God's going to use me in any way, you know what? I can do anything. Like, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. He has strengthened me and prepared me and infused me with power to create whatever life I want. So when we are struggling with situations, we've got to go back and say, God, where did I get off course? Because that's not his will for you. His will is not that you struggle or that you be in stress or that you be in lack. That's not his will. So when we're in that situation, we've got to stop, look around and say, okay, where did I get off track? Because I know I have the power to create the abundant life that Jesus died for me to live. So evidently I've gotten off track somewhere. And God is so good. If we go to him, submit to him, repent, say, God, I haven't been doing things your way. I haven't been tithing. And now I'm begging for you to bless my mess. I haven't been honoring my husband, and now I'm begging for you to heal my marriage. Instead of doing that, go to God and repent, just like I said and say, God, I'm sorry, like, I blew it. Thank you. That you forgive me. Thank you, Father, for your forgiveness. And Father, right now I'm asking you for wisdom. Wisdom, Father, to see where I went off track. And, Father, the understanding to know how to get back on track. Because he wants to bless you. God's deepest desire is to bless his children. He wants you to be able to create any life you could ever imagine. If you want to be an artist, be an artist. You want to be a chimney sweep, be a chimney sweep. If you want to be a life coach, be a life coach. If you want to be a real estate agent, be a real estate agent. Be a real estate mogul. Like, don't even put any limits on it, because here's the deal. You don't need magic. You don't need Mary Poppins. You don't need the magic. You've got the magic. You have got all power and all authority running through every cell in your body and every neuron in your brain. You can create whatever life you desire. Because God's will is for you not to struggle, but to be blessed. That's why Jesus said that I've come that you may have life, abundance to the full, overflowing. Like, that's the life. Look at John 10:10. If you're not having that life, remember, you've got the power to create whatever you want. Go to God. Don't dream small, dream big and go to God and ask for wisdom on how you can go about creating that. I love you so much. And now is a good time to go watch Mary Poppins again because it's an awesome movie. Tell you, Bert is quite an inspiration. I love you. We'll talk later. Bye bye.
