Why So Many Christians Are Miserable (And How to Fix It!)

Hello there and welcome to the crazy blessed show. We are live right now and we are going to talk today about why Christians are so miserable. Okay. I mean, we shouldn't be, right? We have eternal life. We have God inside of us. We have hope for the future. But there's so many believers that are just miserable. So we need to find out, like, why we are and what's going on, because we can change that if we knew what were these two mandates for every person. So in order for us to create an abundant life, we need to understand there is a template to do that. There's a pattern, and if we follow the pattern, we're always going to get the results. So Jesus tells us that we can have an abundant life, but for some reason, a lot of people miss it. So I want to talk to you about, first of all, these two mandates that are so important. And the first mandate is we gotta get our spirit saved. Now, what does that mean, to get your spirit saved? That's basically when you say yes to Jesus. That's basically that point of salvation. You can call it whatever you want. You can call it salvation, born again, whatever. It's that time when you're like, you know what? I want my spirit, who I am to. Now, I'm not going to try to run this thing. I want Jesus to run it for me. I want him to be Lord of my life. So I'm not Lord of my life. Like, we're always gonna. There's always gonna be a God in your life. Either your God or you. Let God be God and letting God be God. Saying, I, I'm not going to try to run this because that's just going to look like worshiping myself. I want you. I want to give my. Give my life to you. I want to worship you. I want to put you on the throne. And that's the first step of making Jesus the Lord of your life, getting your spirit saved. Now, for a lot of us, we think that's the end all. Like, we just got to get people saved and then everything's great. Not really. Or else Christians wouldn't be miserable like there are. You can hardly tell the difference between believers and believers, meaning Christians who. People who have said yes to Jesus, believers and non believers. And the amount of stress, struggle. Like, there are just as many divorced Christian couples as there are non Christian couples. There's just as much stress in Christians as there are non Christians. There's just as much financial poverty and, and Christians as are non Christians. Now, why is this? And if it's really supposed to be like that, then what's the advantage of even becoming a Christian? Like, okay, sure, I'm going to go to heaven when I die, but do I really want to live hell here? Like, what changes about my life now? Because if nothing changes, there's no real advantage to becoming a Christian other than that, you know, second when you die and where you go after that, which is a huge advantage, of course. But I don't know about you. I want to live out days of heaven on this earth, not just go to heaven after I die. But that comes down to the second mandate, which is to get your soul saved. So once you get your spirit saved, now we have to get our soul saved. Like, becoming a Christian is not the end of the story. It's the beginning of the story. And from that point on, it becomes a process of learning how to live an abundant life. An abundant life is not just an automatic download. When you say yes to Jesus. Saying yes to Jesus now gives you the starting point of how to now save your soul. So your soul, just so we're all clear, is your mind, your will, and your emotions. Now, that's why you can be a believer. And your mind is riddled with stress. Your emotions are all over the place. Your. Your will is. Is up and down, and there's no real pattern of success behind it. So we're gonna hack the system today on how to live a different life, not just go to heaven when you die. That's getting your spirit saved. We're gonna learn how to live out days of heaven here on earth. That is a process of getting your soul saved. So that's where the story starts. Not where it ends is where it starts. And Romans 12:2 tells us that we are not to conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our mind. So now the point. Getting your soul saved means now I'm going to. I've already renewed my spirit, right? I've already renewed my spirit. I am born again. Yay. My spirit's locked up right now. I'm going to renew my soul. Now. How do we do that? Because your soul is your mind, your will, and your emotions. So we're going to learn today how to renew our soul. Because I want to show you this. Your life will always be characterized by the thoughts that you hold. Okay? The life you live, it's like. It's almost like. It's that. It's that regulation, like whatever I'm holding in my head is going to determine the life I'm going to live. So that's why it says to, you know, we're supposed to be renew our mind so we can test and prove what God's will is, is good, pleasing, perfect will. So if we want a good life, if we want a pleasing life, if we want a perfect life, then that means we, it is 100% dependent upon renewing our mind. Now, unfortunately, a lot of people don't make this an intentional work. They just think, well, life is just whatever's thrown at me. It's just whatever the day brings. It's just, you know, I just constantly have to, like, I don't, I don't know what's coming down the road. I just have to, like, be ready for whatever. No, because you determine your life circumstances by the thoughts you hold in your head. That's why in, in 3 John, verse 2, it says this. Beloved, I pray that you prosper in all things and be in health. Just as your soul prospers, everything is leveraged to your soul, everything is leveraged to your soul, your mind, your own emotions. So, number one, this is very important. Number one, your soul is the thermostat. Now think about what a thermostat does. You set the thermostat. I went upstairs today, okay? It's in the middle of summer. It is hot and humid outside. I went upstairs and it was cold. Now, I don't know about you, but when you're like, I'm, I, I, I'm pretty wise when it comes to spending money. And I'm not gonna, like, make the house freezing cold when it's hot outside because I know I'm spending a lot of money in energy costs. I could do that, but I, I don't want to. Went upstairs, and there's a separate air conditioner for upstairs. It was in the middle of the day. It's freezing cold, and my son's still hanging, I was like, no, no, you're not. I am turning the thermostat up. We're not spending money to cool, like, make the whole top floor refrigerated so you're comfortable. Like, no, we can, like, turn it, turn the thermostat up a little bit, and you can come downstairs if you need to. So. And you might think, hannah, you don't have to do that, but I did. So I'm telling you this because the thermostat regulates the temperature. Now, a lot of people are looking at their soul as the thermometer. It's just there to tell you what temperature it is. Like if it's a bad day, your soul, which is your mind, your own emotions are going to show up in a bad way. You're going to be stressed out, you're going to be angry, you're going to be overwhelmed. Okay, it's a good day. Awesome. Your soul is going to show up good. It's going to be like happy, it's going to have fun, it's going to enjoy the day. That is a response system. Now, your soul, your mind, you will and your emotions is not supposed to be a response system. It's supposed to be a regulatory system. So it doesn't matter what the day throws at you in your mind, it matters how you respond to the day. And you get to regulate that. Not just like, it's good when it's good, it's bad when it's bad. Anyone could do that. As believers, we're called to make our soul, our mind, our will, our emotions, to renew them so that now we can change our life. So a lot of people think that they have no power over the things that happen in their life, but actually is created in your mind first. So your mind is the thermostat. It gets to regulate how your life goes. That's why it says, I pray that you prosper in all things and be in health. Just as your soul prospers, so think about prospering in all things. Think about if you're prospering financially, what would that look like right now for you? Then if you're prospering in your health because it says prospered being in all things and in good health, so prospering in your health, what would that look like? Would you have a lot of energy? Would you be strong? Would you be healthy? Would you have to deal with like, disease and. No, probably not. You have a great immune system. You'd be strong, you'd be healthy, prospering financially, you'd have more than enough overflow. Prospering in your marriage would mean your. It's intimate as fulfilled, filling is strong, it's healthy, you have joy being together, prospering as, as a mom, that's going to look like my, my kids are growing in the Lord, that they are living good lives characterized by self discipline. And so we can see what prospering looks like in all areas of our life. But it says prosper in all things and be in health. Just as your soul prospers, Just as your soul prospers, so if your soul, again, your mind, your will, your emotions, if your soul isn't Prospering. There's no way any of those other areas can prosper because it's dependent and it's leveraged to your soul. Everything is leveraged to your soul. Like, this is basic training. I'm trying to help you understand how you can be a Christian and actually live in abundant life. Because, number two, your thoughts direct your life. So, number one, we have to remember, my soul is a thermostat. It's regulating my life. Number two, my thoughts direct my life. So Proverbs 4, 23, it says this, Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. Guard your heart and other translations of the Bible, that verse says, for out of it flow all the issues of life. So again, think about all the areas where you want to be blessed. Think about it right now, what would it look like if you're blessed? Financially, physically, relationally, all the areas. I want you to hold that picture of what it looks like for me. Now, in order to establish that, it has to be established in my heart first, it has to be established in my mind, my belief system first, or else I will never see it in my life. That's why it says here, guard your heart above all else. Because out of it flow all the issues of life. So above everything, I've got to understand my thoughts, what I'm believing, because I am living out the days that I have prophesied in my mind in the past. Think about it. You're always prophesied. You are a prophet. You are prophesying your future at all times. You're thinking thoughts in your head and you're speaking words out of your mouth. And out of that, there is a creation power that goes to work to now establish that in your life. So a lot of people are complaining about poverty. They're complaining about their health, they're complaining about their marriage, they're complaining about their kids, they're complaining about the clutter in their home, they're complaining about their health. And they have created this from holding those thoughts and speaking those words because you are the prophet of your own life. So we have to understand, if you are a believer, that doesn't just magically make your life joyful and abundant. You have to go through the process. Just like you had to renew your spirit, you have to renew your soul. So the third way we do that is we have to understand everything natural is created supernaturally. Everything natural, everything that we see in our lives from. From now. I want to make this practical for you. I want you to live a life where you're like, oh, my gosh, Hannah, I. I am healthier than I've ever been. I am wealthier than I've ever been. I am happier than I've ever been. I am. Like, I've got the relationships I've always wanted. Like, I want you to live that kind of life, and God wants you to live that kind of life. But it has to happen in the supernatural before it ever happens in the natural. We see that you can look at a seed and how it grows and understand this process. So when I was homeschooling my kids, I remember we would do, like, science experiments all the time. And. And there's one science experiment where we would put a seed. We would put it, like, in a wad of paper towels like this. We put a seed in a lot of paper towels, wet it, and put it in a clear cup so that we could see the seeds sprout and the roots come out and then the shoot go up and form into a plant so they could see what actually happens underground. Now, we're not privy to this. We don't always get to see what happens underground. Underground is invisible. It's in the fourth dimension, okay? The third dimension is time, space, matter. Those things we can see, touch, hear, taste, experience in the natural world. But everything that we are experiencing in our life came out of a seed that was planted in our soul. Get that, please. Everything. Everything you're experiencing, whether you're experiencing lack or abundance, whether you're experiencing health or disease, whether you're experiencing a struggling marriage or happy one, whether you're experiencing wholeness in your family or. Or destruction. Whatever you're experiencing came out of a seed that was planted in the supernatural. We don't get to see this. That's why it's called supernatural. It's not like we live by faith, not by sight. But unfortunately, a lot of believers live by sight. And they think they have no control over anything because they're just at the whim of whatever life throws at them. No, you're creating your life every single minute by what you're planting in the supernatural. So I want to read this first to you. This is. I don't know. I think this is Hebrews. Maybe you guys can help me. It says by faith. We understand that the worlds during the successive ages were framed, fashioned, put in order, and equipped for their intended purpose by the word of God, so that what we see was not made out of things which are visible. You can look that up. If you look that up, send me a message and let me know what verse that is. But so it's saying here that the world, everything we can physically experience was created out of something we can't experience. It was create. Everything seen was created out of the unseen. Everything physical was created out of the spiritual. Everything natural was created out of the supernatural. So now which area should we learn to master? Which is more important to learn to master the natural or the supernatural? Well, if everything natural is created out of supernatural, it's most important for us to learn how to master the supernatural. That's why a lot of believers are so miserable today, because they're focusing on the natural and trying to change natural things and they're not focusing on the supernatural where those natural things were created to begin with. We're trying to get the right diet, we're trying to get the right workout program, we're trying to get the right supplements, we're trying to get the right marriage therapist. Nothing's wrong with any of this. This is all good stuff. But we're trying so hard in the natural that we're neglecting the supernatural. And it says here that what we see is not made out of things which are visible. It's made out of things which are invisible. So if you can master the root, you will subsequently master the fruit. You don't have to focus so much on the fruit because what you're already trying to get, you're establishing the supernatural realm. I want you to get this, okay? Because when we become a believer, we are transferred into a new system. Okay? I want you. I want you to read this first to you. I actually have the reference for this. Thank you, Jesus. This is Colossians 1:12 through 13. Now listen, I think this is going to change a lot for you what I'm about to share with you, because it did, it greatly affected me. It started me on a path where of getting, you know, from going from poverty to multi millions, from going to struggling my health to being healthier now and in my 50s than I've ever been. Like, is it this right here? What I'm sharing with you is the critical element it says here, giving thanks to the Father who has qualified and made us fit to share the portion which is the inheritance of the saints. I'm going to break this all down. God's holy people in the light the Father has delivered and drawn us to himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the saints, Son of his love. So that's that. Initial getting my spirit saved. I was Transferred out of a kingdom of darkness, moved over here, put into a kingdom of light. That's what it looked like when I said yes to Jesus, when I became a believer, when I became a Christian. I was transferred out of one kingdom and put lease into another one. Now it says here that we have. That God has qualified us and made us fit to share the portion. Portion which is the inheritance of the saints in the light. So what is our portion? What is the portion that God has set aside for us? We can find that in John 10:10, which says, Jesus said, I've come that you may have life in abundance to the full till it overflows. That overflow life again. I want you to go into your mind. I want you to think about what an overflow life would look like for you right now. What would it look like in your home? What would it look like with your health? What would an overflow look like in your bank account? What would an overflow look like, overflow life look like in your marriage, with your children, in your emotions, what would that overflow life look like? Now, that is not just a pipe dream. That is a desire, because you have it right now. It's a desire that God places placed in you to come out of you, to change the world around you. So in when you know the desire that you have now, you can see it reveals your destiny as well. Your destiny is not to just have a desire and not let it come to pass in your life. Your destiny is to take that desire in its state that it is in your soul and bring it to life and manifest it here in this world. God gives you the creative power to operate in that way. To take the desire he gave you and to bring it out into the world. So you actually get to experience in your life. Okay? Beloved, I pray above all that you prosper. Be in good health. Just as your soul prospers, so we're supposed to prosper. We're supposed to be in good health. We're supposed to live out this desire in our life. How do we do that? We have to understand how the kingdom operates. This is a thing that changed my life. When I understood that God, when I said yes to God, he placed me in a new kingdom. I realized I was in a new kingdom and I didn't know how that kingdom operated. It was like when I remember when I went to Paris and I didn't know how the subway system operated. I didn't know how to speak the language. I didn't even know how to find a bathroom or Order things from a menu. I was clueless. Fortunately, I was with a guide that knew the language, knew how to travel on the, on the public transportation, who knew how to get around and where the best restaurants were and all the things, right? So I felt safe, I felt secure. Now the problem with most believers is we have been transferred into this new kingdom and, and we have no freaking clue how the kingdom operates. So it would be like me going to Paris and having no travel guide, no tour guide, no interpreter, and just being stuck there trying to figure out, how do I find a good place to eat, how do I get the money I need? Because I don't know how. Like, you know how to, how to get the. How to get my money converted on how to get a hold of my money. I don't know how the ATM machines work. I don't know anything. So I would be lost, struggling, overwhelmed, stressed out here in Paris, France, having a miserable time. So most Christians are in this glorious kingdom of light having a miserable time because they don't know how the kingdom operates. When you are transferred into a kingdom of light, you have to know how faith works, how to bind, how to loose, how to declare, how to prophesy, how to create. That becomes the most important mandate once you become a Christian. If you don't know this kingdom, you will still be stressed out, miserable, and overwhelmed. So we have to understand, if I'm going to reach that inheritance, that overflow life, I have to understand kingdom principles. It's like, if you don't know what is lawful or unlawful for you, you will never know how to get your stuff and keep your stuff. Think about your stuff. Your health, your finances, your family, your home, all the things, right down to the clothes you wear, the car you drive, all this stuff. I'm right here in my studio. I got my two dogs here. I got my computer over there. Like your stuff, right? So if someone was breaking into my house and I saw them and I said, get out of my house. They said, no, I can legally break into your house and steal whatever I want. If I didn't know it was illegal, I could just roll over and say, well, okay, take all my stuff. Then I guess I don't have any rights, but I know the law and I know, hey, fella, you're breaking and entering. I can call the police. You're not allowed here. I can take action. I can protect myself. I can even create cause bodily harm to you. And I'm legally allowed to do that because I know the law. Now the biggest problem with believers as we're in a kingdom, but we don't know the kingdom laws, we're still stuck in the natural laws. So here comes Satan trying to get your stuff, and you don't know how to protect it. You don't know that he's not allowed to touch you. You just think you're susceptible to it. Like whatever happens, happens. No, if the enemy's messing with your stuff, you need to know kingdom laws so you can exercise those laws and take authority of your domain. You have a jurisdiction, you have been here, placed in a jurisdiction to now exercise the kingdom of God, exercise his laws, be God's ambassadors, and create order where there's disorder, create calm, where there's chaos, create righteousness where there's darkness. That is the design for you. If you don't know how to do it, you're always going to be miserable. Like I said, you can be in Paris, France, beautiful city of lights, and be freaking miserable because you're lost, confused and overwhelmed and stressed out. You are in this kingdom of light. If you don't know how to operate, if you don't know how to bind and loose and operate in faith and how to believe and how to really work in the supernatural, you will still be stuck with a life that doesn't look any different from a non believer. Same amount of stress broke as a joke, overwhelmed. Your relationships are struggling. You are designed for an abundant life. Get that in your heart right now. I am designed for an abundant life. And if you are a believer now, your number one mandate becomes this. I need to learn how to renew my mind. Romans 12:2. We're back to that. I need to learn how to renew my mind so I can test and prove God's will. His good, pleasing, perfect will. I am declaring and decreeing over you. Your life is going to be so pleasing. Your life is going to be so good. Your life is going to look so perfect. You are going to live an abundant life. When you step into a dedicated energy of. I will learn how to operate in this kingdom. I'm going to renew my mind. That becomes your new mandate. Renew my mind. That's what I am here for.
