Hannah Keeley argues moms need a deliberately designed sabbatical, not just a quick break, to reset beliefs and gain vision. She grounds the concept in biblical Sabbath and cultural practices like vision quests and the Hajj, calling it intensive spiritual work that removes mental obstacles. She offers the three-day Mom Mastery Experience as a structured sabbatical with workshops and belief-reframing.

So what is a sabbatical, and do you need one? Well, you probably already know you need one. I'm going to tell you how to get it and what it's for in today's podcast. Here's the big question. How are these average, everyday moms getting radical results in their lives? How are they able to transform their health, money, families, homes, and have fun doing it? The trick. We're not average. I'm Hannah Keeley, and I'm going to spill our secrets and answer your questions right now in that mom show. All right, let's talk everything. Sabbatical. Have you ever thought, like, moms need sabbaticals? And I don't mean like, locking the door of your bathroom and hiding out in there for a little while and scrolling on Instagram. That's not a sabbatical, girl. That's an emergency break. There's between taking an emergency break and taking a designed sabbatical. And you might be thinking right now, well, that's impossible, Hannah. I don't have the time. I don't have the resources. It's not even an option. Let's really break this down, okay? Because first of all, what is a sabbatical? A sabbatical, of course, comes from the word for Sabbath, which means rest. And it's that anointed rest. It's not like resting, like when you have to lay down and, you know, binge watch Stranger Things or something. That's not. That's not. That's not that kind of rest. That's chilling out. But the sabbatical kind of rest, the Sabbath rest, is an intentionally designed anointed time of repair and rejuvenation and basically getting readjusted. That's what a sabbatical is. And we all know to take a day every week to. To, you know, just to have that rest. And I think also it's not so legalistic like that. Like, I would. Of course, we're supposed to take a day every week and chill. But I think sabbatical and Sabbath, I think that's more of a concept where we are finding our rest in our faith in God and not our faith in ourselves. It's where we're stepping out of the toil and the effort, and we're saying, you know what? I'm going to stay in the secret place. The Bible calls it the secret place to the most highest. That place that is in this confidence that God's doing the work. He's doing the work. And then we can rest and just follow the steps and execute it. So is. This isn't a podcast episode on the Sabbath or on rest or anything like that. You probably hear my dog scratching in the background. He's. He just came over here to hang out with me and you. But a sabbatical, I think every mom needs to take one. And the purpose of this, like I said, is to really get readjusted, to get your focus back and to get fueled up for what you have to do. Now, it sometimes is not restful. So that's what we have to understand. In the Bible, it says that we labor to enter into his rest. That is a labor. So a Sabbath may not be necessarily a time of physical, like, wow, I'm just, like, so chill now. I like, you know, hung out and I ate and I rested and I'm feeling good. Like, that may not be Sabbath. Sabbath may be that laboring to enter into that rest where you are on the right track, you're in the right place, and you know that your efforts are actually being productive and they're yielding results. It's yielding fruit. You stepped out of the toil and into the harvest. That's what a Sabbath is intended for. Now we see Sabbath, we see a sabbatical. We see it all over the place in our culture, like Native Americans, they have a vision quest where they remove themselves and they spend time in quiet fasting, prayer in order to get their vision, in order to know the direction they're supposed to go. Our Muslim sisters, they travel to Mecca. I have a friend. I'm not even joking. My friend has a great aunt who travels with four of her best friends every single year to Graceland. Graceland, y'. All. The birthplace. Well, is it the birthplace of Elvis Presley? But it's like. It's like Elvis Presley Wonderland, okay? They travel to Graceland every single year, not even joking. It's been like a yearly tradition. That's their sabbatical, okay? That's their, you know, voyage. That's their pilgrimage. That's what they do. And it restores them and it. And maybe it gets their focus back, or maybe it just gets there like that. That place that only Elvis can fill, filled up. But I want to talk to you about a sabbatical and why you need it. A sabbatical is when you remove yourself to really focus on the direction of your life and on the next steps that you need to take. Because if you're listening to this, I know that you're the kind of mom who's ready to level up. You're ready to. For something different. You're ready to pursue the next thing that God has for you. And yes, that may be right there on the floor having a tea party with your 2 year old, or it could be starting that ministry, or it could be starting that business, or it could be taking your life to the next level, whatever that means. But I know that you're in a period of growth because we either growing or dying all the time. So I want you to understand having a sabbatical is part of that. And here's what often happens. We will think, wow, I got to get away for a little while. And maybe we will take a trip to Greece land, or maybe, you know, we'll go for a weekend, you know, off with our friends or, or a lot of us will go to a conference. Like, we'll know, you know, we'll see that there's maybe a Christian conference in town or really like, you know, life building conference. And, and we go to that for a couple days and we get all hype, right? We get hype. We get that Christian hype and then we come back. But we come back and we think things are going to be different and they're not going to be different because we really haven't done what the sabbatical is intended for. To get the vision, to get the tools, and then you're supposed to execute it. So I don't know if you. This has ever happened to like where you go to a conference and you're like, yeah, Jesus is awesome. I'm cool. Life is great. I got my best friends for life. And then you come back and there's the laundry and there's the dirty dishes, and there's the leftover takeout bags in the fridge and you're like, okay, back to my life. You know, like kind of. It's kind of deflating. So this is what I want to encourage you to do is I want to encourage you to really create a sabbatical for yourself. Not a time to just chill out and get away from it all. That's not what this is. This isn't a get away from it all. This isn't a lock yourself in the bathroom and scroll on Instagram thing. This is a well designed, well thought out time where you level up, where you get your vision. It's your pilgrimage. It is your Graceland. It's where you're going to find that rest, that place that you're going to labor to get into, where you get into the secret place of the Most High, where it's not stress, but now you're operating and you're moving forward. This is what I think about a sabbatical. I think about a sabbatical like this, okay? Pretend that you're driving down the road and I don't know if you've ever been like me and you left your emergency brakes on, but let's say you're driving down the road, you left your emergency brakes on and you just feel this resistance. You know, you know something's off. You feel this resistance. Your car engine is laboring harder and harder and harder to accelerate because you unintentionally have the brakes on once you stop, okay, you put in park, you take the emergency brakes off, put it back in drive, you're like, okay, yeah, it feels much better now. Your engine's not working so hard and you're making better progress. Now when you intentionally design a sabbatical, it's that time when you stop, when you take the brakes off, which are your mental blocks, those beliefs that are holding you back and you put it in drive and now you're going back and things are just so much smoother. Hey, mama. We'll get right back to the podcast, but did you know there is an entire online university just for moms? If you're ready to get radical results in your life, just go to mommastery.com that's M O M M A S T E R-Y dot com. Make sure you check it out and take your free quiz again. That's mommastery.com and M O M M A S T-E-R-Y.com now back to the podcast. Here's one thing. We have a conference every year with Mom Mastery University and it used to be called Mom Mastery Live. It was two days, very in depth, breakout groups. It was, it was designed to be a sabbatical. It was designed to do the mental work to take the breaks off so that when, when you go back, you have everything in place to make it so much smoother and make so much more progress and, and be like 10 times more productive and get more results. So it's funny because we had this joke about you can always tell people who have been to like, Mom Mastery Live, like when you would see them in the elevator, see him on the hall, where it's like you had this like, like deer in the head lice look. Like so much is going on internally that you're just processing stuff. And it's so much mental work. What we're designing this year, mom mastery xp, we've gone up about like 20 levels. So we added another day. It's a three day conference. We're going to do deep mind work, deep thought work where we break off our limiting beliefs. We get out of, from under the obstacles that a lot of people have been under their entire lives. They don't know. They formed these beliefs when they were young. And it's where you take the limits off, where you take the brakes off. And all of a sudden you realize like who you really are and what you're designed to do. And we're able to set up behaviors and patterns and thought patterns especially to change the results we're getting. So when you go back, you have totally different results. It's not a typical conference. It's something very atypical because it's not that hype thing. It's okay, it's time to get down and get to work. So it may or may not be the right thing for you. Maybe you, you know, do just need to get the height. Maybe you do just need to chill out and lock yourself in the bathroom, that kind of thing. Because a lot of moms, you know, we get to that place where it's like, I shouldn't go, get away from it. I would love it if you would see a sabbatical as not a time to just get away from it, but to get away and to do the hard work. Because if you've ever done the mental work, if you've ever really, really done the mental work, like been coached through this process of how to assess what your beliefs really are, what is actually holding you back, and then how to drop the thoughts that are no longer serving you and to move forward into a new way of thinking so that you can start getting better results. If you've ever done those, the hard mental work, you know, it's probably the most exhausting work you'll ever do. You don't see people at Mom Mastery, like at our conferences, like partying and staying up into the night because it's exhausting. If anything, they're staying in their small groups and they're doing the hard work and they've got the worksheets in front of them and they're, they're doing that. It's hard, it's a struggle. That's why it says labor to enter into that rest. We are laboring at our conference because you, you're going to go back changed, you're going to go back with a totally different mindset, a different thought pattern, different way of processing information so that when you go back, you're going to start getting the results that you've always been wanting, but you never knew how to get it. And you always thought you were trying to get it, but you were actually driving with the brakes on. So we take the brakes off. And I want to encourage you, if you have kind of been disappointed with, you know, getting away, you kind of go back to the same old thing. It feels deflated. You're like, you know what? It's just another thing. I want you to try this. I want you to try Mom Mastery Experience. We're bringing in three amazing guest speakers. Blow your mind. It's going to be a three day event. We're doing full work. Like, this is not a party, this is a work. This is a mighty work that's going to change your life. You can ask anyone who's ever been to our past events. So I want to just share with you how important it is to do the work so that you get the results you're after. Because it's not going to happen. Just with luck, it's not going to happen. You know, I remember thinking, like, if only I had, like someone to come in and control all the food I ate, maybe I wouldn't be so fat. Or I wish I had like a cleaning service to come in and like declutter and clean up after me and I. And I could have a clean home. I kept on thinking that there was some solution outside of me to fix my body that was overweight and out of shape, to fix my home that was a cluttered mess, to fix my emotions. You know, like someone, something from the outside. There was a solution that I just hadn't found yet. What I didn't realize that it was inside of me. I had to do the thought work. I had to do the mind work. I had to change the way I was thinking, thinking so that I could take the brakes off and start getting results. When I started doing that work, that's when everything changed. And I can. I know at least 100 women who can say the exact same thing because they've been there, they've been at the event, they took their sabbatical. So I just want to encourage you, do this for you. We have Mom Mastery Experience is coming up at the end of September. And I just want to encourage you, do this work. Do what you need to do to get here. I don't know when you're listening to this podcast episode, but right now it's July and for the next few days we're having a buy one, get one. So I don't know if you're listening to this now. If you are, please take advantage of that. But if not, if you're going to the Mom Mastery XP page, that's what it is. Mom Mastery xp. If you go to that page and the bogo is off, don't let that stop you, okay? Just get your ticket, get to the event. Once you take that bold step, you're going to find provision happens. A lot of times we wait for the provision before we make a move, but that's not how God works. We make a move and that's when God puts in the provision. Watch and see. It's happened to me every single time. When I'm doing a bold, when I'm making a bold step to change my life, to change my future, to create my destiny that I know is an abundant life, things just fall into place after I make the first move. It wasn't like the water in the Jordan didn't part and then the Israelites stepped in. The Israelites stepped into the water. They made the bold move that I'm doing this or I'm drowning. They made the bold move and that's when the waters parted and they walked through on dry land. So trust this bold move. And if you, you know, if you're listening to this after the event, it said the last weekend in September. If you're listening to this after the event or, you know, maybe you tuned in, maybe it's just absolutely impossible for you to come because you're going to be in a wedding that weekend or something like that. But all things are possible. Take that bold move and do this. And if it's, if it's after, if you're listening to this afterward, I want you to make sure that you are taking measures to create your own Sabbath, to create that time when you can step out and do the mental work. And you might be like, hannah, how do I do the mental work? It's a process, girl. Get plugged in. Get plugged in, please. If you're not inside Mom Master University, get plugged into Mom Mastery University, get plugged in today so you can start doing that mental work and you can start getting the results you're really after. I'm on your side. I'm rooting for you. I love you and I want to see you at Mom Mastery xp. This is where it's all going to go down. This event is the sabbatical that's going to change your life.
