In this tutorial, Helena Liu demonstrates how to turn ChatGPT into a personal tutor for PMP exam preparation. She walks viewers through logging into ChatGPT, prompting it to act as a study coach, and then showcases five practical use cases: (1) asking the model to explain PMP concepts such as leadership styles and work breakdown structures; (2) feeding earned‑value‑management math problems to receive step‑by‑step solutions; (3) requesting concise summaries of the PMBOK 7th Edition or relevant blog posts; (4) generating PMP application description drafts that incorporate PMBOK terminology; and (5) creating a customized 6‑week study plan that accounts for a full‑time job and limited study time. Throughout, Helena emphasizes the speed, flexibility, and free accessibility of ChatGPT, encouraging viewers to experiment with prompts, refine outputs, and use the tool as a study buddy. The video concludes with a brief recap of the five use cases and a call to like and subscribe.

Hey guys, it's Helena here and welcome back to my YouTube channel. In today's video, I'm going to share with you all the ways that you can use ChatGPT to become your personal tutor and help you ace your upcoming PMP exam. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes! So the first thing you want to do is to log into your ChatGPT account and the URL you want to go to do that is chat.openai.com. It's completely free to create an account. And once you do that, just go up here and create a new chat. So what you can do here, once you have created the chat, is you can just say— you can prompt the tool first to let it know what you want to do. So I'm just going to say, I am studying for my upcoming PMP exam and I want you to be my personal tutor. And so now ChatGPT knows what kind of role it needs to go into. And now, you know, I can— it says, of course, I'd be happy to help you prepare for your PMP exam. Pretty cool, right? ChatGPT is a natural language model, which means that it can read what you're writing to it as if it is another person, which still kind of is mind-blowing to me. Amazing. So again, the first thing that I can use ChatGPT to do is to answer any questions about the upcoming exam for me. So I can say, what the different leadership styles, right? For example, or I can say, what is a work breakdown structure, right? So I can ask ChatGPT to explain any topic for me. So as you can see, you know, in real time, it's written the 8 types of leadership styles in Less than 30 seconds. Mind-blowing. So, you know, another example here, I can ask ChatGPT to explain what a WBS to me is. So you can really ask this tool to explain any concept to you. So that's the first way that you can really use ChatGPT as your personal tutor or study buddy. Another way that you can use this is, let's say you have a hard mathematical problem on your exam. for example, in earned value management, and you don't know how to solve it. So I have an example right here. You know, you're a project manager that has a project that with a cost of $800,000, you have 2 teams of programmers, and, you know, you can feel free to pause this and read it. And let's say you don't know how to calculate this particular problem. You can just put it into ChatGPT, and it actually breaks down the mathematical steps step by step for you so you can see how the answers are derived step by step, which is pretty cool, right? So if you ever struggle with the math sections of the exam, whatever math problem you see, just copy and paste it into ChatGPT and it will break it down and tell you how to actually come up with the right answer. Another way that you can use ChatGPT is to summarize things. So you can say, you know, for example, summarize PMBOK 7th edition for me, or provide me a summary of PMBOK 7th edition. Or you could copy and paste a blog post that you see and tell ChatGPT to provide you with a summary of that so you don't have to read it from start to finish. I mean, like a blog post about project management, for example. Now, another way that you can use ChatGPT is to help you write your PMP application descriptions. So you can say that I want you to write a PMP application description for me using the terminologies from the PMBOK. I worked as an IT project manager. For the past 5 years at, let's say, IBM, right? And, you know, the more information you can give ChatGPT about your role and what you have done on it, the more accurate the description would be. So there you go. So you can, you know, you can kind of read through this and then pick out what you like. You can always reprompt it and add more information if what it has written is not exactly accurate. Okay, so, and then the last thing you can use ChatGPT to do is to create a custom study plan for you. So what I can do here is just to ask ChatGPT to create a custom study plan for me to help me prepare for my PMP exam in 6 weeks. Note that I have a full-time job and can only study for 2 hours at night. We're just putting all of your specific situation, when you want to study, how long you want the study plan to be, and then ChatGPT just goes to work and writes your study plan for you. And here we go. See, it's generated a 6-week study plan here for us. So pretty mind-blowing. The extent and how much use cases you can have for this tool. So just to summarize here, you can use ChatGPT to study any topic that you will encounter on the exam. You can ask it any question about any topic. You can ask ChatGPT to break down math problems and help you come up with a solution so you can see how the right answer is derived step by step. You can ask ChatGPT to help you write your application descriptions for your upcoming PMP application, and you can ask it to create a study plan. So thank you so much for joining me for today's training, and I hope to see you in my next one. Be sure to like and subscribe to this channel for more awesome content like this one. I'll see you soon.
