Be objective, and just talk. Communicate.

Hinesh Chauhan argues for setting clear boundaries around response times. He uses dating as an example: some partners wanted instant replies and left when they didn't get them. The same applies at work. Ask for extensions, explain your situation, and communicate directly instead of reacting immediately.

I guess in terms of posting or creating content, this isn't procrastination, but it's definitely not a priority. It is procrastination, but I just have more thoughts that are well, that I want to share and on, on, on the, the thread of, of response time, I, I find that's been a huge deal breaker for women when it comes to dating, which I find a bit ironic because I tend to give attention to what I'm doing and to the people that are around me. And so a lot of women who I had met, whether had been messaging, then switched over to text or had gone on a first date and my response time was slow, they would disappear. Which was a really easy way to screen out those individuals because I realized that they needed that outside reassurance or validation and weren't able to be empathetic or even respectful to what may be happening in my day or on my time. So very, very easy way to weed those people out. And so with that I just wanted to share that people get upset with you and you communicated that these are your standards or your boundaries and why you do it. It's not on you. And don't feel bad and don't feel the need to have to respond quickly because like I said before, if someone really needs to get a hold of you, they can call you. It's the same thing for work. The comments of oh, this is due to the minister's office or whoever's office because somebod made an arbitrary deadline that, that deadline trickled down and really is, is anyone gonna die? No, no one's gonna die in the majority of the circumstances. And I have worked in circumstances where people were dying, there was a need or would die and there was a need to, to get whatever information up the chain of command as needed. And so in those situations it was asking for consideration of an extension or asking I can give you what I have now, it's far from perfect and it's lacking these details. So either you get information now or I can give you a comprehensive amount of information when I am able to do that without impacting the regular day to day operations that have to go on. So people just don't understand your position or perspective and they won't understand it unless you communicate it to them. So set those boundaries. Don't feel the need to react and respond to things right away and ask for that extension for that grace and communicate what is going on in your life because people just don't know. Don't just get angry and bitter about it again. Be objective and just talk, communicate.
