This is really, really hard. I don't. I really don't know how much I've struggled with this. And it's led to a significant amount of emotional pain. Let's get started. Hi, I'm Heinish Chohan. Welcome to Decent Divorced Dads. Today we're going to be talking about acceptance. Let's get started now. Acceptance. This is by far the hardest thing I've had to deal with over and over, repeatedly. And I couldn't even tell you the number of hours of therapy I've had conversations surrounding acceptance, accept and finally understanding. There are things I can change and things I cannot change. And it's a matter of asking yourself, can I change this? Will thinking about this over and over and over change my situation? Will it help me come to terms with it? Well, maybe and depends on how you think about that. So if you're thinking about it in the sense of how can I get rid of this? That's not going to work. The idea is to acknowledge. You have to acknowledge this is what happened, this is what it is. And work to understand how did it come to be and what are the takeaways from it? What can you use for. From this experience as a lesson and move forward with it? And again, this is really, really hard. I really don't know how much I've struggled with this. And it's led to a significant amount of emotional pain which has led to physical illnesses because it stacks. And the more you hold onto something, the worse it gets within you. So I really want you to understand that this is a challenge for many people and to be open about it, to talk about it. There's a reason why women live longer than men and it's their ability to openly talk and vent with their friends. Us as men, we're not so great at that. So we tend to hold in our feelings to repress them, but don't do that. And an easier way to be able to come to acceptance is to be able to share those frustrations and to get other people's opinions, but to get it out, to mourn it. That's what I'd recommend, is to not just catch yourself ruminating, but to share the experience and get that pain out, to help you move on and accept it and learn from it. I really hope you enjoyed that, guys. And if you did, please remember to like, follow and subscribe. And if you found it was helpful, please share it.
