Hinesh Chauhan argues discipline is teaching, not punishment. When you get up to run or correct a child's harmful behavior, you're building self-sufficiency and independence. Discipline that focuses on growth, not control, teaches people to protect themselves and their environment.

What's discipline? Whether it's it's with you or in terms of disciplining your child. Disciplining means to teach. It's it's not about punishment. It's about teaching. You teach yourself how to get up every morning and go for that run. Unless it's for me below my not even minus 10 degrees Celsius becomes too cold for me. But discipline is teaching your kids how to do the right thing. It's teaching them how to be self sufficient, independent, how to correct their behavior or processes based on something they're doing that is going to be damaging to their environment or damaging to themselves. So keep that in mind. Discipline. It is about teaching. Teaching leads to growth. Growth is the best mindset and attitude you have for improvement.
