A short conversational YouTube video featuring Hinesh Chauhan discussing risk management with another speaker. The discussion frames risk-taking as a trait common among founders and executives, notes its potential downsides (a "tragic flaw"), and asks Chauhan to describe the types of business risks he helps clients mitigate and his approach.
You know, risk management is something that more probably business owners, C suiters, a type people need to hear about because you probably don't start a business if you are risk averse, you know, so you, you, you know, so this is kind of like the, the underside of that strength, you know, what do they call it? An Achilles heel? Is that what it's called? No, no, no.
This. I'll break you.
No, I know what it is. The tragic flaw. So it starts, so it's, it's great that you have that to start the business. And I'm going to talk to a lot of people like this and, and look, not to go down a rabbit trail, but this can bleed into so many things. This can bleed into, you know, putting your money in the risky financial moves and so many other things. And I know I've, I've made certain mistakes because, you know, having been risk averse. So, so talk to us a little bit about when you, when you work with businesses and business owners around managing their risk. What are the types of risks that you're helping to mitigate? You know? Yeah, what, what are you talking about there?
Yeah, and risk is everywhere. And I'd like to first preface this discussion or anything related to risk to change the way people see risk because they feel it's a very complex activity. They need to bring in these specialists with these different certifications and in my whole life has been in absorbing information and identifying what the threats were, whether it was in the military, as a strategist, as a combat engineer, understanding what the threats were and helping commanders plan out their strategy. As a martial artist, as a delivering or having a multi hundred million dollar budget and landing within half, less than half a percent of my, my budget every year, which is unheard of in, in the world of capital. And it was because of risk management and just understanding what can go wrong. So when you cross the street, what do you do? You look left and right. That's risk management.
