Drinking too much water can actually dehydrate you if you're missing electrolytes. One person drank 150 oz daily but felt constantly thirsty and made endless bathroom trips. Asian cultures hydrate differently, using mineral-rich broths and soups instead of plain water bottles.
Is bloat the only way to really know if you're getting too much salt?
I would say bloat and fluid retention, swelling in the legs.
You're not peeing regularly. That's retention as well, right?
Correct. Or some people, then they pee like crazy because their body's trying to get rid of it. All I do is drink water. I'm drinking like 150 ounces a day. I'm trying to be so hydrated and I can't stop going to the bathroom. It's like, then your body doesn't like the water you're drinking, whatever that is, whether it's electrolytes or from your tap, your body is like, no, thank you. That's not good for my cells and is excreting it. And you're not absorbing it. Like, if you look at other cultures, like Asian cultures, they think we are like idiots carrying around our giant water bottles all day.
But what do they have? They have mineral-rich broth and soup with every meal.
We shouldn't have to drink our body weight in ounces to be hydrated. That's like just kind of how unhealthy we are.
