Healing isn't a finish line. Speaker B explains that wounds stay in your nervous system, but they can become less painful and even funny. A client describes triggers that once caused stress now feel like harmless speed bumps offering lessons and chances to grow.
Are we ever healed or is it always a healing process?
The answer to your question is we're always on the healing journey, James.
To reach this absolute all-nervonic state of I am healed is a myth.
What we've come to understand is that there are wounded parts of us that are resonating inside of our nervous system forevermore. We are on this journey. That doesn't mean that, oh, well, cynical and we're never gonna heal and it's never gonna feel good. Rather, it's just the opposite.
We had a client provide a testimonial and I loved the way he put this. He said he knows he's healing essentially because the things that used to trigger him and stress him out, he now finds amusing. They're amusing. They're a part of life. They're speed bumps. He can now see the lessons in each of those experiences. There's always something else to learn about ourselves. And with that comes new opportunities for evolution and development and healing and releasing and shedding and letting go, but also rebirthing something incredibly spectacular within.
