James Hype breaks down three production moves from his track Vibrate: turning a vocal into a lead synth with Ableton Granulator, creating risers by reversing and stretching synths with Warp Mode Texture, and shaping a breakbeat with transient processing for Rio Techhouse.
Yo. These are my top three production secrets that I used in my new track, Vibrate. Wait for the last one, because I use it in every single track. Really cool thing about the lead synth in this track, it's actually made out of the vocal.
Tell you this now, then I got to go.
If I drop this vocal onto Ableton Granulator, it sounds kind of like this. Change the grain size. That's cool. I made a really cool riser sound just by stretching some audio. Check it out. Recorded this synth and then reversed it. Change the warp mode to texture and stretch it as far as it will go. In the drums, I used this really cool break beat, but it doesn't sound like this. In the finished track, I used Ableton Transients to shorten it. It sounds like this Rio Techhouse groove.
