Jesus Gabriel Mendez and Danny celebrate Danny's new Porsche 911 Turbo S while reflecting on their climb from 7 am to 7 pm warehouse jobs to owning supercars. They credit relentless work and surrounding themselves with driven people. Danny once helped get Wes Watson out of jail by talking to a judge.
Chapters
We are at Earth Motor Cars. Danny apparently bought a vehicle. I got my McLaren. We've been harassing Danny for the past couple months to get a car, and I think the moment has come. So we will see the man himself. Hold on, give him a little backstory on how we've been harassing you to get a vehicle.
You know, I just talked to him right now. You don't find people— if, if your friends will bring you down, even if they're not bringing you down, you gotta find friends that bring you up. And that's the only thing that Troy and Jay have done. They bring me up. All right, I didn't— I was fine with a Toyota. I had a Toyota Toyota minivan. Look, that's my car right there.
No, it's not.
I had a Toyota and they bought some crazy shit, so now I gotta buy some crazy shit to keep up. And because we deserve it. So it wouldn't be possible without Jay, wouldn't be possible without Troy.
Let's make it happen.
Let's see what you get.
What'd you get? Is it in plain eyesight?
It might be.
How you feel?
I feel good. It's, it's so—
it's smart.
It's a smart decision. It's not the craziest.
Can you park next to me? What is it? What is it?
Little something.
Is that satin, people? Turbo? Oh my God, stand next to that bitch right there. Stand next to it. Yeah, yeah, it's calm.
Yeah, that's calm, cool, collected.
Yeah, yeah, that bitch is tough. She a little dirty. Turbo S. Oh my God, that bitch is tough, bro. It's, it's, it's with the clear, with the clear headlights, fucking clear, with the center lock wheels, center lock carbon ceramics. Yo, is this satin PPF?
No, satin.
Now the only tragic thing—
ah, it's coming, don't fucking judge.
Ah, hell nah, boy. What the Fuck, lost aura immediately after opening the car door.
Hold on, turn her on, turn her on.
You going to hear something that you ain't hear with a regular Porsche.
Come on, let's go. That's so tough, bro. What? That bitch is sexy. Got the carbon fiber, carbon fiber, carbon fiber, carbon fiber, carbon fiber, carbon fiber. Steering wheel look— it look trash. I ain't even going to hold you, bro. It look like you driving some 1960s shit. Fast. Hear about—
see, uh, what the fuck going on? What the fuck going on? What the fuck? Ah, hell no, bro. What the fuck? Ah, but what you doing, bro? Aura lost immediately. Oh, hell no, bro. What the fuck? What did you buy, bro? Hold on, what did you buy, bro?
This shit was on sale, bro.
I told you don't buy no bullshit, bro. What the fuck?
Oh, come on.
All right, she quick. Turbo's fucking— you hear that?
I heard that. I hear that. What you think, Dan, man?
Did it.
We are doing it. The many cars You're the man.
Yeah, it just happens.
It just happens to you sometimes.
You work hard, one day you're struggling in the fucking— one day you're in, uh, not knowing where you're gonna go next, not having clarity with anything with your business, and then the next day you're driving a Turbo S.
Next day, this is your point of view.
Yeah, happens very quickly. That's all I can say is enjoy Enjoy the process.
Enjoy the struggle.
Enjoy the struggle, because then after that you just—
you might miss it a little bit.
Yeah, you might miss it a little bit. Two packets tastes good sometimes.
You guys have to understand that this was not overnight. And moments like these, me and Danny talked about countless times. So many times where it was 2, 3 in the morning and we were saying, bro, one day we're gonna have these cars. One day we're gonna show up to a dealership fleet crazy, cars crazy. We're gonna go to to Cars and Coffee. We're gonna go to Highland Park, which is the most expensive part of Dallas. We're gonna park there. We're gonna be the youngest people there, and we're making it happen. You know, this— again, like I'll say again, this shit will not happen overnight. Danny said it himself, there was times where it was 3, 4 in the morning, we're fucking starving, but we're still fucking working. We're still focused on the vision. We're still focused on being consistent with the work that nobody wants to fucking do, because everybody wants to see the Everybody wants to be in the McLaren. Everybody wants to be in the Turbo S. The reality is the amount of people that are going to actually do the work to be in that position to purchase those cars and drive those every single day is very little. What did you say to the judge to let Wes Watson out of jail, bro?
I told him—
yeah, what'd you tell Wes?
I mean, I mean, judge. Yeah, man, you better let go Wes or else I'm gonna get my gremlins on you.
Yeah.
And then he was like, bro, it ain't nothing, I'm just doing my job. I said, uh-uh, don't do that, man. Phone.
Yeah.
And then he got—
hit that one more time. Yeah, yeah. And then he, he was just like, all right, my bad. Yo.
And then Wes got off.
And now Wes out on bail?
No, he got nothing.
He, he out on nothing. He free. He a free man.
He just walked out the courtroom.
I said, Wes, come on, you got ties like that?
Come on, outside.
So talk to him, bro. How does it feel to be the owner of a 991.1 Porsche 911 911 Turbo S in stealth PPF, musty dusty black, and musty dusty black stealth PPF, carbon ceramic brakes, carbon ceramic brakes, center lock wheels, roll cage delete, comfort seats with an unky steering wheel and a broken rearview mirror. How does it feel? It feels good.
This is what I dreamt for. That's what I dreamt.
Talk to him, give him a little bit of motivation, a little bit of motivation for the sensation.
You see what you Lock in. Yep. This is what happened.
Y'all don't know about this. Y'all don't fucking know a dang about this. For all of you that don't know, this is the wholesale company that I used to work at. And as you can see, it's— what time is it?
4 PM? It is 4:25.
4:25 PM and there's nobody here. There's a reason I left, but I came here After Danny right here got his dream car, I got my dream car, just to kind of reminisce, see if anybody was here, and nobody's here. This is the importance of your environment. Here's where I met Danny a while ago, and we both left for a reason. Our goals weren't aligned with the company, and as you can see, it's fucking 4 PM on a fucking Monday. No, there's nobody here.
When we were here, we didn't leave till 7 PM. 6 PM, 7 PM.
And I got here at 7 AM.
Yep, I got here at 7 AM as well. We were the first two in here, last two out. Went to go eat, get back to work. All we dreamt of, all we worked for is this shit to be successful. It's 4 fucking 20, bro. Like, this is nothing. Just, just be $100,000 a year.
We laugh at that now. Yeah, a year is crazy, but your environment matters a lot. Be in places where people that have the same exact vision as you will be at, and you'll meet people like Danny, and then you'll get results like us. I got a McLaren, Danny got a Turbo S, and we're here just reminiscing. This was Hey, they'll see some shit like this, bro. This is what we used to do during the week to have the vision, bro. Gone. Time changes, bro. Time flies. You were on this same balcony. Years and years ago, just looking down, looking down at the car, saying, bro, one day we're going to have Lambo, whatever car we were thinking, two Porsches. Danny's car is still at the shop right now, but if we look down, we got a fucking 720S down there. This is low-key surreal, bro. Like, we were here on this fucking roof saying this shit. We hit the exact same one. I'm gonna pop up the video. We hit this exact fucking video. You literally have to believe it before it's there, bro.
More work than anybody else. We were the only two people that stayed the longest, and we were the fucking only two people out of everybody that worked with us that is successful right now.
The only two.
That's literally the formula. Just put in more hours than everybody else, even if it's not the right thing. If you could—
you think you're doing a lot, do fucking more.
These were the days that— these were the fun days.
These were the fun days. Days. And when those days were present, we were saying, bro, I wish we had this, I wish we were here, I wish we were doing this, I wish I had this much money, I wish I had this car, I wish my parents were here, I wish I was doing this. And now we're doing that, and now we're reminiscing about the times where we didn't have it. And this is a highlight, coming back here and just seeing— this is 10 years, I might fuck around, own the building. Just cause—
because just for the culture.
We were there.
Yep, we'd go in, we'd walk in those doors every single morning.
Every single morning. Go to lunch, come back and be proud to work there.
I was driving a 1998 steer the Tacoma. Yeah, that's crazy.
Yeah.
