Jesus Gabriel Mendez teaches sales professionals how to handle rude prospects. Start conversational to keep dialogue open, then shift to direct confrontation if disrespect emerges. Call out rudeness explicitly and set boundaries so prospects don't see you as a pushover.

This is my business at the end of the day. This is how I keep the lights on, but I'm not going to sit here and get disrespected just to potentially buy your property and do you a favor. You can take the passive route or you can take the bumping shoulders route. And it depends, right? If this is in the beginning of the call, you probably want to take the passive approach to continue the conversation and see if it ends up leading to them having some sort of pain point or some sort of interest in selling the property. But if it's deeper into the conversation and then they start being rude, that's when you kind of set the tone and check them and say, hey, I don't like the way you're speaking. Hey, it doesn't seem like you're too serious about selling the property. Me personally, if I was trying to sell one of my houses, I would try to be as nice as possible. That lets them know, hey, I'm human at the same at the same time. Versus if you just take it and you're just like, you just try to ignore it and continue the conversation, they're gonna be like, all right, this guy's a pushover.
