The 1 thing that was keeping me broke… and how I changed it.

The speaker crashed his BMW because he was ungrateful for it, then shifted from a misery mindset to gratitude and visualization. He argues that what you focus on you attract, and that abundance requires both a grateful mindset and practical boxes: risk, sacrifice, relentless work, and patience.

These chains that I have on, these designer clothes, this watch that I have on, I had it before I had it, right? Before I was wearing it, I was already wearing it. I could see myself living this life. I could see myself driving that car. I could see myself having these conversations, having these dinners, having these meetings, because I had delusional ability to see that through, right? Something that's not currently real I could daydream about it. I could visualize it. I could see it in the future because I believed it already happened. And for a lot of you guys, you haven't made that shift yet. And there's two different types of mindsets between most people. Obviously, you could say there's, there's different variables of it, but mostly there's two. And it relates to the frequency that most people are living by. Somebody that might look at me walking down the street or driving in my car might say, oh, that car's rented. Oh, those shoes are fake. That watch is fake. That jewelry is fake. Who is he trying to be like? And when you have that mindset, when you're trying to be, I guess, very critical of people in a bad way, you're not trying to add value. You're not trying to be positive. You're at a very, very low frequency. The same way when you just purchase a car, let's say you drive, I don't know, a Land Rover or a Range Rover. The second you drive that car, you go out onto the street, you start noticing them more frequently, right? When I tell you to think about a color, and I saw this exercise in some video I watched a while ago, the guy told the other guy that he was talking about in the podcast, look at everything that's red. And the guy said, okay, he started looking around and he started looking for red. Obviously, you're going to find red now that I'm talking about this video. The borders of the screen that I'm looking at of myself, the border is red. Little parts of my computer are red. The bottom of this tripod is red. There's a red fire extinguisher right behind you guys. That's at the top of my mind because that's what I'm thinking about. I'm at a frequency where I want to see red. I'm trying to find it every which way, and I might even see a color that's maroon and say, hey, that's red, just to fit it into the example, just to fit it into the vision. But if you're doing that, and right away I'm like, all right, what's blue? And I keep making eye contact with you, it's going to be very hard for you to tell me that's blue, that's blue, that's blue, because that's not what you were looking for. So what I mean, and to relate that back to the frequency conversation that I was talking about, When you're at a very low frequency, when you're being critical about other people, you're judging people in the wrong way, you're talking bad to people, you're a miserable person, right? And the way I can explain this so well, it's not because I read a book about it. It's not because I talked to some physiologist about this or I talked to a counselor about this. No, it's because I was that type of person, you know? And I'm very transparent with you guys to tell you stuff like that because most people won't. When I didn't have money, when I didn't have the mindset that I currently have as I've been building it for the past 7 years, I was very fucking miserable. Anytime I'd see a car that's a crazy car that's out of the norm, I would say, that's a rental, that guy can't afford it, that guy's living a fake life, that guy's trying to be something he's not. I would look at other people that already had success, maybe even in the same industry, and I would say, that guy doesn't deserve it, that guy got lucky, that guy cheated. So when I was in that frequency, not only was I judging other people being miserable like that, but I was always holding myself back of my own opportunities, of my own potential, because the same way I saw other people, it was a reflection of what I thought my own personal limits were. I was living inside this box of misery. So when you are looking for misery, when you are at the frequency of misery, what else is going to come to you? The same way when you're looking for red, you're going to find red. I was miserable, so I found misery. Misery loves company. Whenever you're miserable, whenever you're on that frequency, you're going to attract people the exact same way. So it's going to become home. And for a lot of people, home is comfort, and it's hard to change home, right? Because that's what you're used to. I was used to being miserable since the age of 13 to 15, 16, because that was the normal reality that I was living. I was waking up miserable, I would go to bed miserable, I would dream miserable. I'd had these terrible dreams of me being a failure, of people saying this, of people saying that. So that's what kept going around my life. And the start to my transformation of my own personal mindset, my own personal well-being, and my self-development journey was being grateful for everything that I had and understanding that nothing will ever be given to me. Everything that I will have in the future is by my own actions, because nobody was going to come to help me. I was miserable for so long because I was expecting something out of the world that never came. I had these expectations that somebody was going to come help me. I had these expectations that somebody was going to come change my life. I had these expectations of finding the person that's going to be that big brother, until I decided Hey, I haven't found this person yet. I need to become that person, not only for myself but for everyone behind me, right? Once I started being grateful for everything that I currently had— the parents that I had, the clothes that I had, the car that I had, the opportunities, the way that I thought— once I started being grateful, I started thinking in abundance. I was so grateful for everything that I had that I didn't feel like I needed more. I was detached from needing more. I was detached from chasing something that is not currently mine because I'm already so grateful about what I currently have, you know. And a lot of people that are at that low frequency, they're stuck chasing this thing because they're miserable about what they currently have. They're not grateful. Therefore, when you're not grateful for whatever you believe in— I believe in God, some people believe in the universe— they'll say the universe needs to give me this. But it's like the universe or God will never give you anything if what you currently have you're not grateful for. Right? I wasn't grateful for my car. Because I was ungrateful for it, I literally crashed it. And this is a real— I haven't told anyone. I hope the, the BMW driver of the last car that I had— I'm sure you guys have seen it, uh, doesn't see this video. But I was literally so ungrateful for the car that I had. I was telling my friends about it. Ah man, I'm starting to hate this car. Low-key, bro, like, this is, this is common traffic. Like, I'm tired of driving this car. I'm tired of, you know, I can do more. So God was like, okay, you're tired of it. Okay, you're not grateful for what you had. What happens? I literally go to the tire shop on a rainy day. My back tires are fucking bald. Keep in mind, it's a 4-wheel drive M5 Competition, and I'm literally driving to the tire store because I'm like, hey, if I keep driving on these tires, this shit's not gonna go good. What happened? Literally days before I was saying, oh, I hate this car, I'm gonna sell it, I don't want it anymore, I'm not grateful for it, I want something better, bigger, faster. I crashed it. And that was— again, I've had these moments over these past 7 years that I've, you know, started my entrepreneurship journey, started to change who I am as a person. I've had these breakthroughs of like, all right, here's the reality check. You know, when I got too confident, I lost money. When I got too confident, I lost opportunities. When I got too confident, I I lost people that I should have had around me. The same thing with this car. I had that moment of like, fuck, like all this can be taken away like this. And that brought me down not to a level where, you know, I'm less than, but it brought me down to a level of being grateful again. Being grateful to drive a nice car, being grateful to live in a nice apartment, being grateful to have a nice watch, being grateful that all my family is healthy and doing well, right? Being grateful that my friends are doing well. Right? So I say that to say this: you need to be grateful, and that's the number one thing, right? The number one thing to be successful, to live in abundance, to have all these things that you guys might see me have or see somebody, some other creator on social media, that they're showing you. You have to be grateful. Now, can you be successful and be ungrateful? I don't know. That's not what worked for me, right? Obviously, some people will sit here and tell you, oh, you need to be jacked. Oh, you need to speak this certain way. There's fat people that are rich. You know, one of my good friends, that's one of the richest friends that I know, he's not in the best shape. He's doing his best. He's on his self-development journey. He's in the gym every single day. He's doing great. Shout out to you if you're watching this video. He didn't need to be jacked and have a six-pack to make $20 million, $30 million, you know. So it's like, yes, you don't need to do certain things that, you know, I tell you, but it's like, if you do all these things, if you check all these boxes, The probability of you being successful is so much higher, right? If you tell me you're grateful for everything you have, right? You're very nice to people. You're always open to new opportunities. You're willing to take the risk and put the back— put your back against the wall with hard-earned money that you've saved for the past 6 months. You're willing to put that on the line to be successful because you see being successful more important than losing what you currently have, right? You're willing to sacrifice parties, drugs, distractions, friend groups, right? If you're willing to sacrifice all these things, you're willing to put the money where your mouth is, you're willing to work indefinitely without expecting a result the next day, without expecting the result the next month, without expecting the result the next year or 2 years or 3 years. If you're willing to work so hard every fucking day like you want the result tomorrow, but you're okay with the result coming 5 years from now, 10 years from now, How are you going to sit here and tell me that your chances of being successful are the same as everybody else? You'd be a liar. You, you'd be arguing against yourself because I wouldn't even listen to you, right? I'm at too high of a frequency to believe those type of things, right? But there's literally all these boxes that you can check to prolong your success, to emphasize your success. If you have all these checked off, how can you lose? Right? If you're already down here, the only way is up. That's one of my favorite songs by Babyface Ray. It's— it's— I don't really talk about the music that I listen to, but it's like that song itself— I might play a clip, probably not. I was— I want to be monetized through YouTube. It's like, when you're all the way down the way, the only way is up. So it's like, if you don't have anything right now, how much worse can it get? Yeah, you could sit here and be that, that realist loser. Okay, it can get a little worse. You know, but it's like when you don't have, the only way to change is to have, right? And I wanted to make this video for you guys today specifically just, just about being grateful because I'm very grateful right now. You know, I'm in LA, I'm in a very nice area, I'm in a nice Airbnb, you know, I'm working at a very consistent rate. All my friends are healthy, all my friends are doing well. I'm very happy about the people around me. My family is doing well. And not necessarily because of the materialistic things, but just because I'm at a place where if you would have told me 5 years from now, 6 years from now, I would be here right now talking to you guys, I would call you a liar because I wasn't at that frequency yet. I hope this video helped you guys. If it did, comment, 'J, you're the GOAT.' See you boys on the next one. Like, comment, subscribe.
