This is how you change your life.

Jesus Gabriel Mendez went from a struggling student to claiming over $1 million in real estate before age 20. He argues success requires a ruthless mindset, strict daily habits like waking at 6 am and writing goals, and willingness to break expectations, not following conventional paths like college.

If you're not willing to be a selfish motherfucker, you will never win. What is this video for? This video is to motivate you and really show you how to be successful outside of any specific advice for any specific industry. I'm not talking about wholesale, I'm not talking about dropshipping, I'm not talking about being a construction worker or being the CEO of a company. This has nothing to do with any connection to any business model. This is just straight mental advice., right? And I can tell you from my experience as a 20-year-old entrepreneur that has generated over $1 million in the real estate industry without a real estate license, without going to college, without— well, I did graduate high school, but they didn't let me walk the stage for a different reason, but that's besides the point. To get to this point, you have to be resilient, right? And what do I mean by resilient? Because everybody says, oh, you have to be this, you have to be that, you have to be that. But nobody really tells you how to do it. So growing up, I was always lazy. I'll tell you what, I've always been lazy. I always knew money was the thing that I wanted to get. Money was the achievement because I knew I hated people telling me what to do. So I would go to school, I would break all the rules, I would get suspended for half the year, I would get expelled consistently from school to school to school. But I knew money was the motive and that was my main motivation. From selling snacks in school to selling other things to— I don't know, what else have I done? I've sold fidget spinners, I've sold those silly bands that all these people used to wear back in the day, sold speakers, I sold— you can name it, shoes, everything. I've sold everything and I've gotten to the satisfaction of that, of knowing that hey, I just did one thing and it paid for this, right? And I didn't have to go to school. I didn't have to do any of this stuff just to get fucking paid. So I knew if I got fucking paid, I was able to not only put myself in a position where I've never been in because I didn't grow up with having a lot of money. We didn't grow up super poor, but we grew up where it was, hey, we can't do this, this, this, this, this because we just don't have the income for it, right? And I understood that from a perspective of, okay, I have to make that change. I have to do something different than my parents. To see a different life. I have to change for my life to change and my parents' life to change. So once I started seeing the money coming in, I knew that, hey, I can buy myself all the shoes I want. I can buy myself all the clothes I want. I can have the car I want, the place I want, the freedom that I want. And I could also put my parents in a position where they can have the freedom and do whatever they want. Right now I'm helping my dad with his company. Right now I'm helping my mom with her company. Right. And now we're growing as a family. We're building generational wealth because of the actions that I took.. But for me to take those actions and be able to put them in that position, I had to be selfish. I had to be at a point where I couldn't listen to my parents. If I listened to my parents, I wouldn't be in the position to put them in a better position, to put them on a pedestal to where now they have the highest chances of being successful because of their son. But I had to do that, of being selfish, of not listening to them, of breaking the rules that they had put for me because I knew it was a bigger cause, right? And for a lot of people, sometimes it depends on your definitions, but sometimes you have to take a step back to, to take two steps forward, right? And for me, the taking the step back was not necessarily having the greatest relationship with my parents growing up because I never did what they told me to do. But that didn't come from a place of hate. That didn't come from a place of I don't love my parents, or I I despise them or anything like that. I just knew that the advice that they were going to tell me was the advice of every single immigrant parent of, we came to this country, we risked our livelihood for you to have the best opportunity. And for them, the best opportunity is to get a regular job that's making $30 grand a year, right? And I know a lot of you guys that come from immigrant families, either you guys be Asian, Indian, Hispanic, most immigrants, right, that come from other countries, Arabs, it's go to school, get that degree so we can have that thing to flex to other families, right? My son does this, my son works for this company and he has this title, my son makes this much money, right? But the thing is that not everybody is meant to fit in that box. And I knew I myself wasn't meant to fit in that box, not from something that I heard or something that I read. It was just a natural instinct. It was a gut feeling that I knew I don't want to be told what the fuck to do, but there's rules in the world, right? There's laws that you have to follow. There's moral codes that you have to follow that are set by other people for you to be a regular working human being, right? So if you want to be a successful entrepreneur, from my experience, the way that you have to be successful, the way that you create success for yourself, is not only from the mental state, but the actions that you take. Because everybody can have a great mindset. Everybody says, oh yeah, I want to be rich. Oh yeah, I do this, I do that. But nobody really does it behind the scenes because you're not, you're not being seen by somebody else. You don't do what you're supposed to do. And that was the thing that held me back from making more and more money when I was younger. It was because when I stepped behind the scenes, when nobody was watching, I was bullshitting. I was watching YouTube all this time, all the time. I was eating like shit. I wasn't going to the gym. I was, you know, doing things behind closed doors that you shouldn't be doing as a young man, you know. So these are the things that I had to sacrifice, right? Because it's pleasures. You sitting there and watching YouTube videos for 10 hours a day isn't going to help you, but it's satisfying, right? You're getting entertained all day for free, right? You don't have to do anything for it. You don't have to work for it. YouTube is fucking free. But the thing is, those things are holding you back from your true potential. You need to sacrifice those things. You need to sacrifice these relationships. You need to sacrifice sometimes even your own well-being to put yourself in a better position where you don't have to sacrifice, right? I had to cut out sleeping in. I had to cut out smoking weed. I had to cut out drinking. I had to cut out being with friends that all they did was sell drugs and talking about girls and talking about going to the club and doing all these things. That was so fun. Do I miss it? Sometimes I do when I get bored, right? When I'm on calls with sellers and they're just wasting my time, and I know they are, I get bored. It happens, right? When you grow up in that environment, you're gonna be set to come back, right? Well, the same way as somebody that went to prison or went to jail, they have the mindset of going back even if, even if they don't want to, because it's just something that feels like home. And for a lot of people, including myself, home sometimes is just being that lazy person, being that, that individual that's mediocre, right? That's home to a lot of people. So when you actually try to make the change, yeah, maybe you made the change mentally, but your actions aren't aligning with that. So when you start changing your actions and you try to become this person that you're not just yet, but you want to be, it doesn't feel like home. It doesn't feel comfortable, right? It feels weird. It feels like you're faking it. It feels like you're not being who you truly are. But the thing is, who we truly are is just a behavior. It's just a picture painted by other people based on our actions, right? So if I see somebody that's broke, if I see somebody that just has terrible vocabulary, if I see somebody that's not doing what they're supposed to do to change their life, I'm gonna label them as a lazy broke person, right? But that's just the behavior that I labeled on him based off his actions. But if I see that, yes, he might be broke, yes, he might be lazy, but he's doing everything in his power to change his life and he's actually taking the actions that doesn't really want to do, but he knows he has to do, then I see him as somebody that, hey, that guy's making a change. That guy's set to be successful because of his actions, because of the behavior that he changed in his life. So you need to get away from comfort. You need to get away from home for you to actually change your life. You know, it's not just about, oh, you need to buy this course, oh, you need to learn this book, or you need to read this book, you need to, you need to talk to these people. The start and the place where you actually jumpstart everything is from here, and then the actions that you take, you know. And you've heard this before, but it's about actually fucking doing it. It's about watching this video and then actually going and doing something that doesn't feel comfortable so you can change your fucking life, you know. My routine that I've just started these past couple weeks where I've been super consistent doesn't feel natural just yet. I'm slowly starting to get comfortable in the routine, but at the start it wasn't. My routine is I wake up, I woke up at 6 AM on the dot sharp. I drink vitamins. I hated drinking vitamins because I'm young, I don't need vitamins, but I knew for, I know for a long-term reward I have to take vitamins so I can stay healthy. So I can enjoy my money, so I can enjoy seeing my family come up and be more successful than they already are, so I can see my siblings grow up and be more successful than I am. I woke up at 6:00 AM, I take vitamins, I drink honey and lemon water, which, I mean, it tastes good sometimes. Most of the time it doesn't because I can't figure out the ratio just yet, but I drink that to be healthy. I go straight to the gym. Right, I come back from the gym, I drink protein milk, I eat something that's healthy. I hate eating healthy food. I fucking hate it. If it were up to me, I would eat Wingstop 3 times a day because that feels like home and it's satisfying, right? But what's satisfying didn't bring me the body that I wanted. I don't want to be skinny anymore. I don't want to be skinny fat anymore. I want to be jacked. I want somebody to see me on the street and see and say, that guy take that guy takes care of himself. And the only way for somebody to get that perception of me, to see that, to label me as a person that takes care of themselves and is healthy and is productive and is consistent, I need to do what doesn't feel comfortable, and that's me going to the gym every single morning, right? So I do that. Then all these fucking notifications. You'll need to unlock your iPhone first. Buddy, stop. Okay, I do that. I sit down and write my goals, right? It doesn't feel good because it's like, damn, I gotta do this, then I gotta do this. Now I think about it, I also got to do this, this, this, this, this. So I list up 20 things that before, if I listed out the 20 things I would look at, I would say, yeah, I'm gonna get that done. And then I wouldn't do anything with it. I would, I would get caught on my phone. I would scroll through TikTok. I would scroll through Instagram. I would scroll through YouTube and not get anything done. At a point to where my dopamine receptors are already done. They're done for the day. They got the dopamine. They're satisfied with what I've done, right? So now I don't have the energy, I don't have the mindset to actually do what I need to do on my to-do list. Now I don't do that. Now I don't scroll on my phone until I have every single thing done. I do that, then I literally just get to work. And sometimes get to work doesn't mean just sitting at my setup right here at home. Sometimes it means, hey, go to Starbucks, go get the work done, whatever you have to do to get the work done and put yourself in that mindset. Maybe you have to go eat sugar before, before you go get the work done. Maybe you have to do this to go get the work done. As long as the work gets done, you will be successful. You will move the needle closer to your goals, right? And don't be scared to set goals that are far apart. There was once upon a time where I wasn't making $5K a month, but I was like, I want to make $100,000 in a month. And I knew it was possible, but part of me still said, uh, bro, but you got to get the $5K a month, you got to get the $10K a month, you got to get the $15K a month. But you don't get to $15K a month having a $15K a month mindset. You get the $15K a month having a $100,000 a month mindset because you know, hey, $15K a month is not enough. This is easy. I need to get that out of the way so I can get to $100K a month. Because if you have a $15K a month mindset, once you make that $15K a month— once you— maybe not even $15K, maybe you make $10K, maybe you make $11K, maybe you make 12. Once you get to those 12, 13, 14, you're gonna get comfortable, and that's when the, when the struggle starts again. Now you're at a point where you're in the 1%. You're making $14,000 a month, $13,000 a month. That's a lot of money for a lot of people, right? But once you get to that financial amount, you're gonna get comfortable, and then you're gonna start going like this, and then you'll start seeing a trend in your life where, okay, this month I made 14. This month I made 6, 14, 6, 14, 6, 14, 6. And then most people get stuck in that forever. But the reason they're stuck in that is because of their mindset. Most people's goals are achieved by being the minimum. What do I mean by that? Is most people achieve the minimum requirement that they have for themselves. So if I say to myself, I My minimum for today is I get 2 things done. I go to the gym, I eat healthy, and I, I don't know, close the deal. That's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna be satisfied if I get that done. But if your minimum is I need to make $1,000 today, I need to go to the gym today, I need to wake up at 6:00 a.m. today, I need to go to bed at 9:00 p.m. today, I need to do this, I need to do that, I need to do that, that's your minimum now. So if that's your minimum, if you're being that productive person, then your minimum income has to go up naturally, right? So now I'm at a point where if I'm not making $50,000, $60,000 a month, I am very, very uncomfortable. I'm in a place where it's like, oh bro, I'm sharp. But if I get to $70,000 a month and I don't have the mindset of I need to get to $100,000, I'm gonna get comfortable and I'm gonna go down to $20,000. I'm gonna go down to $30,000. So Main takeaways is be selfish. Sacrifice all the things that make you happy right now so you can be happy later. Figure out your why. Why are you making these sacrifices? Is it worth you being jacked, not being able to eat the food that you want to eat right now, right? You need to do that. You need to write down your goals. You need to go to bed early. Wake up early, and you need to take risks. That's, that's another big takeaway. One thing about myself, I've never been scared to risk my last penny on something. If I believe that there's value in it, if I believe that I'm gonna make my money back, even if I believe that I'm just gonna solve one problem in my business, I am willing to risk my money and put my money there. Because even if that don't find this, this necessary answer, I'm gonna learn something that will help me. I've never been scared. I've never been— my— I'll say this, my risk tolerance is at 110%. And that's another reason why I'm here. I've never been scared to risk it, right? Going to college is risking it. Buying programs is risking it. Starting a business by yourself is risking it. Starting a business with a partner is risking it. Going on the road is risking it. Everything is risking it. So Why not risk it in something that you'll see a return on, which is yourself? Don't forget to invest in yourself. You're the best investment. You're the best. You're the most valuable thing in your life. If you can get yourself to be that person that you want to be and do all the actions that need to be done so you can become that person, you will never fucking fail. Thank you for watching.
