Reality is that most guys would rather stroke their ego and be in a room where they're the smartest, they have the most money, they have the most success, than be the dumb guy in the group that has the least money, the least success, the least opportunity, less knowledge, but to be the guy that's learning more from the group, the guy that's asking the most questions, the guy that has the most potential of growth. There comes a time in your entrepreneurship journey where you have to realize that you have to leave some people behind and you have to change your scenery, change your friend group, to actually grow. I was in a group of entrepreneurs where everybody was really stuck between $30,000 to $50,000 a month, and that was kind of the baseline, right? The majority of the friends, they were all comfortable. They weren't looking to make more money. Nobody had reached $100,000 a month until one guy at a dinner said, if I want to grow, if I want to make more money, I have to be in a different friend group. I have to stop being friends with you guys. And a couple of them took offense to it. And I just thought in the back of my mind, that just makes complete sense. And obviously the group started to split up. Some guys made less money, some guys made more. But the lesson that I learned from that is you have to be in a room where you're learning, not just stroking your ego from what you know.
