1-Minute Deep Breathing Exercise — Rediscover Your Complete Breath
28 Apr 2026 · 1 min
A guided one-minute breathing exercise that walks you through a slow, deep breath that moves from your belly to your chest to your collarbone, then a complete exhale. The practice reconnects you with how your body naturally knows how to breathe.
There's a fire inside you you can't ignore. Stand still? Not a chance. You're a lifelong learner who's come this far. Now we are here to help you keep going further. Capella University. What can't you do? Visit capella.edu to learn more.
Take a moment to arrive here, right where you are. Close your eyes and notice your breath exactly as it is right now, before you change anything. Is it shallow, tight, held slightly in your chest without fully releasing? Are you breathing in short sips rather than long satisfying breaths? Have you been holding your breath? Most of us spend the majority of our day in a state of partial breath, taking in just enough oxygen to function but never fully inhaling, never fully exhaling, never giving our bodies the complete breathing cycle they were designed for. As you inhale now, breathe slowly, deeply, all the way down into your belly. Feel what a complete breath actually feels like. Let your belly expand first, then your chest, then all the way up to your collarbone. And as you exhale slowly completely, every last bit of air. Feel your shoulders drop, your belly soften, your whole body remember what it feels like to breathe. You knew how to do this perfectly the day you were born. Your body still remembers. It was just waiting for you to slow down enough to let it. I am sending you so much love.
