Step one is find an undervalued home. And to do this, you find a home in a distressed situation. It may be foreclosure, it may be a tenant trash the property and the owner no longer wants to deal with it. Or it may have just been sitting vacant and they've been paying taxes on it for years and just don't want the burden anymore. So get the home under contract and then move to step two where you're going to renovate the houses. Go to your local investment meetup and ask other fix and flippers in the area who their contractors are. Hopefully you have some nice people in your city so they'll give you the full list of contractors they use. That way you can have a similar budget. They do. And step three, sell them for 30, 40, 50, and maybe even $60,000 in profit.
