Trying to be everyone's friend will make you an enemy to yourself at first. It is so hard telling people, no disassociating with people who don't do good for you. Leaving the people behind who don't push you forward. The people who say they care about you but really don't want what's best for you. But they're comfortable. They're people you've known forever. They're the closest relationships you've had. And since they've always supported you, you feel like you need to be their friend. But when you start to get things that they want, they subconsciously target you. They start to put stuff in your mind. Maybe you can't do it, maybe it's too good to be true. Or maybe they just go behind your back and talk about you. You'll be able to see that. But you cannot make excuses for them. And you can't justify to yourself why you should keep them as a friend. You have to move on. If you keep trying to make everyone happy and just stay in the same place you've always been, you're going to do nothing but hurt yourself. Because all the good opportunities in front of you, they'll put their opinions on that. And even though consciously they might not have mal intent, but true envy is subconscious and they will drag you down without even trying. And you justifying their actions and staying close friends with them, you become your own biggest enemy.
