Charles Schwab Just Gave $12 TRILLION A Button To Buy Crypto

In this solo commentary, Kamilah Stevenson explains Charles Schwab’s launch of a "Schwab Crypto" offering—a simple in‑account button that lets the firm’s 38.9 million retail clients buy Bitcoin and Ethereum directly from their existing brokerage accounts. She emphasizes the massive scale of Schwab’s $12.22 trillion in client assets and argues that removing onboarding friction will unlock a new wave of long‑term, institutional‑grade capital for digital assets. Stevenson draws a parallel to the 2019 commission‑free trading shockwave, predicting a similar cascade as other brokerages scramble to add crypto to retain clients. She quantifies the potential retirement‑capital inflow (as little as 1 % of $35 trillion = $350 billion) and outlines why Bitcoin and Ethereum were chosen first—clear commodity classifications—while XRP’s future inclusion hinges on pending regulatory clarity (the Clarity Act). The video also highlights the settlement advantage of XRP over SWIFT, discusses tax‑efficient investing via a Roth IRA with iTrust Capital, and concludes with promotional calls to her coaching services and community. Throughout, she urges viewers to act now before the window closes.

Hey, it's Kamilah Stevenson, and around here we talk wealth. And I want to talk about how Charles Schwab opened up a waitlist, and I'm going to share what that means. You know, I just want to start off by saying that most people are looking for a big moment where they get permission to understand, uh, the type of assets that they should be investing in. And instead, they should be looking at moments like when the average American with a 401 and a brokerage account can finally buy digital assets the same way they would Apple stock, and those type of moments are missed. And so there's a lot happening that I believe are missed because people want their emotions to be rattled. They want their heartstrings to be satisfied. They want some big dramatic announcement, some regulatory green light, uh, with the headlines everywhere that just makes them feel like the moment is unmistakably historic. Now, first I do want to say real quick, go ahead and like the video. It does help the video and the channel, and I would really appreciate that. And also subscribe if you have not subscribed already. Uh, the subscribe button is right by the video. And then also I do want to say this is not financial advice. Everything I share is for educational and entertainment purposes only. Always do your own research and do not follow me to make your investments. Investing comes with risk, so do your own due diligence. Alright, let's get into it. Well, listen, if you're not catching the signs and the signals of what's happening every single week, you are going to miss out. And Charles Schwab gave us another signal, and I want you to understand what that really means because if this is something that you just scroll past the way most people did, then you're going to look back at this moment the same way people look back on buying Amazon in 1997, right?, right? And this is not about the price satisfying you at the moment, but I want you to recognize that this is another structural moment that connects to the largest pool of retail and institution investment capital in America directly to digital assets. And once that connection is made, it does not get unmade. All right, let me know in the comments, do you have a Charles Schwab account? Because I want to know How many people are about to have the easiest crypto on-ramp that they've ever had sitting inside an account that they already have? All right, I want to talk about what Charles Schwab actually did and why it is not what most people think. So let me give you a full picture because most of this coverage wasn't probably plain to people. All right, so Charles Schwab announced that it is launching Schwab Crypto, a dedicated account that lets clients buy and sell Bitcoin and Ethereum directly into their existing Schwab brokerage platform starting in the first half of 2026, meaning right now, through a phased rollout that begins with Schwab employees and then it moves to a select group from a waitlist and then opens to the broader client base. And even if we're looking at the starting point of what's allowed to be in that account, this is still moving in the direction that every other signal is pointing to. So on the surface, what this does sound like is a company adding a new product, and that's exactly how most people are going to read this. But here is what it is actually describing, okay? Charles Schwab manages $12.22 trillion in client assets. Not billions, trillions, okay? There is a difference. $12.2 trillion. I want you to understand this, and it's across 38.9 million active brokerage accounts. These are not crypto enthusiasts or people who already own a Coinbase account and hardware wallets and XRP stacks. Okay, these are everyday American investors, people with retirement savings, people with inherited money, people with 30 years of accumulated wealth sitting in a brokerage account that they trust because Schwab has been there their entire adult investing life.. And Schwab just told every single one of them, all 38.9 million people, that you can now buy crypto the same way you buy stock. So you don't need a new account, no new platform, no new password or anything, no explaining to your spouse what a seed phrase is. Because I know that that's what needs to happen often, right? Because they don't always understand, our family and friends around us. But Charles is just adding a button inside an account that you already have. That allows you to buy that crypto. Now I want to really have you think about what this really unlocks. Okay, so the number one reason that most traditional investors have not entered the crypto space is not because they don't believe in it, it's because of a lot of friction. Okay, so there's a process of going from I want to buy some Bitcoin to actually owning Bitcoin inside a regulated structure, and that has historically required a level of technical comfort that most 50-year-old investors just don't have. So they have to set up an exchange account, complete the KYC verification, fund the account from their bank, and then navigate an unfamiliar interface. And then after that, they got to figure out custody, and then they got to worry about whether the exchange is safe. And it's a lot of friction that a lot of people have to go through. And so that just got eliminated. For 38.9 million people. Schwab is not building a crypto exchange. They're building a button, right? And the people who press that button are not retail gamblers chasing meme coins. They are the same people who have been dollar-cost averaging into index funds for decades. These are also the same people who called their Schwab advisor during the 2008 crash and stayed invested, and the same people whose financial behavior is driven by trust and familiarity, not speculation and hype. So when those people press that button and they start buying crypto, then the capital that enters into this space is going to be qualitatively different from anything else that's come before. It's going to be patient, it's going to be long-term, and it's going to be enormous, of course. And this is what I want you to understand. Schwab is not doing this because they suddenly believe in crypto. I know a lot of people think all of a sudden when this rolls out, it's just because somebody started to believe in it. No, they're doing it because their clients have demanded it. And Schwab could no longer afford to send those clients to Coinbase to get whatever they wanted, right? So people are waking up in these infrastructures. Institutions are waking up. They know the risk. Why? Because they're following what's happening behind the scenes. So CEO Rick Werster said it publicly. Clients were asking. He said it. And so now they have the regulatory environment that has clarified enough and the conditions were right, right? So this is not enthusiasm. This is competitive survival. It's starting to happen now. And competitive survival is a much more powerful driver of institutional adoption than enthusiasm will ever be. And why? Because enthusiasm fades, but competitive survival does not. Now, here's why the starting point of Bitcoin and Ethereum only is the most important detail in this story. And why some people may have even gotten this backwards. Okay, so back in 2019, let's go back there for a second because this is the parallel that your financial advisor will never draw for you. So October 1st, 2019, Charles Schwab announced that it was eliminating commissions on stock trades. So that's zero and it's free. They're saying you can now buy and sell any stock on our platform at no cost. Within 72 hours, TD Ameritrade eliminated commissions. Within a week, E-Trade eliminated commissions. Within 2 weeks, Fidelity eliminated commissions. An entire industry that had charged trading fees for decades changed its fundamental business model in less than 2 weeks because one player with enough scale made a move that others could not ignore. So nobody planned for that cascade and nobody coordinated it. It just happened because when a firm with $12 trillion in assets makes a structural change to how it competes, the rest of the industry does not have the luxury of watching and waiting. They have to respond or they're gonna start losing clients immediately. So that's exactly what's happening right now in crypto, except the stakes are not trading commissions. The stakes are which financial institutions capture the next generation of digital asset investors before their competitors do. Morgan Stanley has already launched spot Bitcoin and Ethereum trading for its customers. Goldman Sachs restarted its cryptocurrency trading unit. Fidelity Digital Assets has been offering institutional clients crypto trading and custody for years. JP Morgan built its own blockchain token for payment settlement. And now Schwab, the firm with more retail client assets than almost any other institution in America, just opened a waitlist. So every traditional brokerage that has been sitting on the sidelines watching is now looking at a spreadsheet that shows how many of their clients are about to get a crypto button from Schwab. And that spreadsheet is going to force decisions. Vanguard has been the most resistant major brokerage to crypto. They have publicly resisted even offering Bitcoin ETFs to their clients. In the past, but Vanguard manages $10 trillion. And when their clients start moving assets to Schwab to get access to crypto that Vanguard doesn't offer, that conversation is going to change real quick. I mean, in a couple of seconds. Okay. And it's not going to be just because, oh, they decided suddenly that they believe in any type of crypto. But again, it's because Vanguard cannot afford to keep losing clients to a competitor over a product decision. So this is a domino effect that's already in motion and it's moving slowly. The 2019 Commission story took less than 2 weeks to cascade through the entire industry. The crypto integration story is moving on a slightly longer timeline because the regulatory and compliance infrastructure is more complex, but the direction is the same and the destination is the same. Every major traditional brokerage in America is going to offer direct crypto trading to its clients. Not someday, but eventually, within maybe the next 12 to 18 months. Because once Schwab opens the door to 38.9 million clients, the competitive pressure on every other institution becomes impossible to ignore. Now here's the number I want you to hold in your mind for a moment. There's currently approximately $35 trillion sitting in US retirement accounts, IRAs, 401s, pension funds, that money has been almost entirely locked out of direct digital asset exposure for the entire history of crypto. The ETF approvals last year cracked that door open slightly, but Schwab just kicked it significantly wider, and the rest of the industry will follow as the domino effect plays out, maybe over the next 12 to 18 months. Even 1% allocation of retirement capital into digital assets represents $350 billion of new demand entering into this space. And that's been very conservative with just 1%. That's $350 billion into a space where the total market cap of XRP today is roughly $70 billion. So that's not a price prediction, but it is math about what happens when a new category of buyer with a fundamentally different scale of capital gets access to an asset that they could not easily reach before. And let me explain the part that connects everything that we just talked about for your portfolio. And that is that the door that Schwab opened does not close for XRP, right? So Schwab is starting with Bitcoin and Ethereum, not XRP. That is the fact, okay? And I've heard people react to that frustration, like, why not XRP? When does XRP get added? Is this a problem? You know, and so we got to understand that it is actually the setup. Here's why. Because Schwab didn't choose Bitcoin and Ethereum randomly. They chose them because those are the two assets with the longest and clearest regulatory track record in the United States. Bitcoin was classified as a commodity years ago. Ethereum received its commodity classification more recently. Both of those classifications gave Schwab the legal certainty, um, that it needed to build a compliance infrastructure around those assets and offer them to clients. XRP received its digital commodity classification from SEC earlier this year, but remember, it also went through through the court case. So if you ask me, it does sit above a lot of the other cryptocurrencies just because of that alone, that it does have clearance in both of those different ways. So the Clarity Act, which permanently classifies the entire digital asset landscape, including XRP, under federal law, has been, of course, in Senate Banking Committee markup targeting late April, now maybe into May. So we will see what happens with that. But I want you to understand what it means for the timeline. So the exact regulatory conditions that allow Schwab to add Bitcoin and Ethereum are in the process of being established for XRP right now. So the classification just happened and the legislation is a little bit of time away. So the infrastructure that Schwab needs to add XRP to its platform is being built by the regulatory process in real time. And also, again, there's some institutions that will not go all the way in because of this one thing. But trust me, when you're in an environment of a crisis or, um, a strong necessity, then the rules change. I just need you to understand that. Okay, so Schwab did not say that they're only going to offer Bitcoin and Ethereum. They said that it is where they're starting. And when you understand why they started there, because of the regulatory clarity, then you'll understand exactly what needs to happen for XRP to follow., and that is the thing that's happening right now. All right, now let's add the other piece. Also, Schwab is building its crypto infrastructure through Charles Schwab Premier Bank. So this is a bank. This is not a brokerage account. This is a banking entity. And banks that want to offer digital assets need to settle those assets. They need an infrastructure that can move value across borders instantly at minimal cost with institutional-grade reliability. Japanese banks just proved not long ago that XRP settles 60% cheaper than SWIFT in under 4 seconds. And that data exists now. It's public, it's verified. They were letting people know, okay? And every compliance officer at every major financial institution that's building a crypto on-ramp, including Schwab, can read it. So the Schwab announcement didn't just open up a door for Bitcoin and Ethereum, it started a process, a process of traditional financial infrastructure connecting to digital assets at scale. That process does not stop at two assets. It follows the regulatory calendar. It follows the proof of concept data. It follows the competitive pressure of 38.9 million clients asking for more. And the asset that was built specifically for institutional settlement, that has live proof of 60% cost savings, that has just received its commodity classification that has a federal legislative vote coming soon, that asset is not at the back of the line. It is next. So here's what I want you to understand while you're watching this and understanding your positioning in this, because this is positioning in infrastructure, okay? Financial infrastructure. Most people are waiting for something that feels like a signal. Again, a big old dramatic headline, an announcement, something that makes the moment's so obvious. But the Schwab waitlist opening was an announcement. It's just that people can't read between the lines often. The Japanese bank data was proof of concept. The Swiss institutions moving $120 million in a single week was the positioning signal. Now, the people who are going to understand when they look back at this period of time in one of the most important financial windows of their investing life, are not going to be the ones who waited for the certainty. And I know most people want that because it makes them feel good, right? They're going to be those who understood that these pieces are coming together and there's only one direction that it's going in. Okay? And so this is not a coincidence, and I cannot stress this enough. Now, uh, everything that we're discussing about Schwab opening up that door for 38.9 million, the domino effect already in motion across entire brokerage industries and the regulatory calendar moving toward XRP's addition and other cryptos. Because don't get me wrong, I love a lot of other cryptos. I love XDC, and I invest in Ethereum and even Solana and Flare and Chainlink. And there's some other ones that I invest in. If you follow me long enough, you know what they are. And so all of that appreciation that is going to come, it has to land somewhere. And where it lands determines how much you're going to keep of that. If your XRP is sitting in a taxable account, when this plays out, uh, when Schwab adds it, when the Clarity Act passes, when $350 billion in retirement capital starts finding its way into digital assets, listen, the IRS is going to come and they're going to want their portion. So I do hold a portion of my digital assets inside of a Roth IRA through iTrust Capital. It is tax-free growth. I also hold gold and silver in there in the same same account in the same structure backed by real physical gold and silver. And so I am building a position in there and maxing out that Roth IRA so that when I get that asymmetry appreciation, I do not have to owe anybody. I get to keep every last dime, every last penny. And so that window to establish that cost basis inside a tax-free structure before all of this stuff really catches up up because trust me, it's going to catch up to where we are. Like, the price and the value is always going to eventually match. And so this window will not stay open forever. Now, the link is in the description. There is a $100 funding bonus when you fund the account. Just get structured before the door opens all the way and not after. Like the video and subscribe if you have not already. And also, understanding this macro environment is something you need to understand. But knowing what it means for your specific situation, your structure, and your timeline, and your position size, and your protection against these assets, all of those things is a completely different conversation. You need a game plan for that. And that is what my one-on-one clarity calls are for, where we can go through your personal financial design and build you out something that can enter and usher you into financial freedom. I also do have my community open for those who want to be coached, and we are moving together in that. I share all of my plays and everything that I'm doing, and I help you also to construct your own personal plan in that environment. There's accountability, there's training, there's live Q&As and coaching times. And so the links are in the description for that as well. And so check those out and also leave me in the comments What is the one thing that you're doing differently with your positioning this week? With after everything that we've been talking about, what are you doing differently, right? I believe that there's a chance for you to get 1% better every single day. And as always, I want you to stay wise, stay wealthy, and I'll see you in the next video.
