If God Is Rich, Why Do His People Struggle? (The Real Answer)

In this live‑stream, the presenter tackles the paradox of a God described as owning all wealth while many believers live paycheck‑to‑paycheck. She argues the problem is not a lack of divine resources but human mis‑stewardship and misplaced beliefs about money. Drawing on Deuteronomy 8:18, 2 Kings 4 (the widow of the oil), 3 John 1‑2, and John 10:10, she refutes common church myths—such as equating higher income with wealth, viewing poverty as holy, and treating budgeting as bondage. She emphasizes that God gives believers the power to become wealthy, but they must remember the source, prepare proper “vessels,” and act obediently. A practical diagnostic (calendar, bank statements, language, legacy plan, order of priorities) is offered to assess one’s financial health. The widow’s story illustrates that miracles come from using what one already has and preparing containers for provision. The talk stresses holistic prosperity—spiritual, physical, and financial—and urges viewers to shift from passive prayer to active obedience, engage in a 90‑day Health and Wealth Challenge, and use provided resources for budgeting, investing, and legacy planning. Throughout, the speaker repeatedly asks for likes, subscriptions, and interaction, while apologizing for Wi‑Fi issues that will be edited out for the replay.

And I'll be checking out, uh, uh, the, the comments. What's up from Detroit? Yvonne from Detroit. All right, here is, here is the question that I can't get away from. If, if God owns the cattle on a thousand hills, if the silver and the gold is already his, why are so many of his people living paycheck to paycheck without ownership? Okay, somebody said Wi-Fi is getting better. Just pray, y'all. Pray, y'all. I'll, I'll pace it. Why are so many of his people living paycheck to paycheck without ownership? Think about it. How is it that the God of abundance, the God who created the heavens and the earth, um, has children who can't even cover an expected bill? How is that? That doesn't make any sense unless something is broken in the way we understand what God actually said about wealth. And let me tell you, this is not about God's ability. He is not broke. God is not broke. The problem isn't heavenly, uh, or heaven's supply. The problem is right here on earth. It's in how we think, how we live, and what we've been taught to believe about money and faith. Okay, and that's where we're going, um, to go today. We're going to talk about this because until you face the question head-on, you'll spend your entire life believing that lack is normal when God's word tells us a different story. Do you hear what I'm saying? Make sure you hit that like button so we can get into it. Hey, from South Carolina! I see you from D.C. From Africa, come on through. All right, all right, so let's get into this. All right, first I want to say this, uh, video is for educational purposes only. I'm not your financial advisor. I am just sharing my experiences. Again, this video is for educational purposes only. Listen, let's lean in for a second and understand this. If heaven is not on a budget, why are God's people acting like he is? Okay, um, remember again The, the silver is mine, the gold is mine, said the Lord. Okay, um, God is not debating whether he can afford your future. He already owns the raw materials of every economy that has ever, ever existed. So if God's— if God's side is abundance, why does our, our side often feel like scarcity? Okay. Now again, the issue is not God's supply, it's not heaven's supply, it's our stewardship. He's the owner and we are the managers, okay? Ownership lives in heaven, stewardship lives in your bank app, all right? Now let me push this a little because Deuteronomy— and this is, I think, where a lot of people lose sight of, of, of all of this— Deuteronomy 8:18 says Remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth. He gives you power to get wealth. Now notice what he doesn't say in this scripture. It doesn't say that he gives you permission to get into debt. It doesn't say he's gonna give you a lottery ticket and let money fall from, from the sky. But instead it says he gives you power. Uh-oh. So there's no excuse, number one, because God gives us power to become wealthy. And power is the same as ability, strategy, the grace to produce. That means that wealth is not an accident, it's an assignment. Okay, it's an assignment. But here's where we Gotta make sure that we refocus ourselves because the verse starts with a very key word and it says, remember the Lord. Don't forget— not, not forget, remember the Lord. Okay, and a lot of people are trying to grab the power, um, and have completely forgotten about the source. Don't forget about the source because when you forget about the source, you will abuse the strategy. The source is he, him, God. He has given you the power, and a lot of people are taking it into their own hands and they're not remembering where the source comes from. And if you do that, you're going to call panic wisdom, you're going to call fear stewardship. You'll be spending, um, all your money and spending and saying that self-care, uh, is, is what you're supposed to be doing when you're violating his principles and when you spend it, every dime that you have, and then wonder why your future keeps shrinking back. Now I'm going to get into a, a key, a principle in here, so just bear with me for a moment. I'm just looking through the chats for a minute. Wealth is not an accident, it's an assignment. That's it, that's it. All right, all right, all right, y'all hear me? Remember the Lord, remember the source. I do want to break down a few myths, myths that we have baptized in, in church culture, and I want to get to the main scripture that I want to talk about, and it's, it's very profound. Myth 1 is that more income equals wealth, right? It doesn't. If spending rises with income, you're just a high earner, okay? Living small. Wealth is ownership, not overtime. Number 2, here's another myth, okay, that we baptized in church culture, okay? Poverty is humble and holy. If y'all don't hit that like button for me. Poverty is humble and holy. It is a myth. I just cannot stand when people feel like Christians should not prosper and be wealthy, and actually they get blamed for it. Show me that in scripture when John 1 and 2 says God desires that you prosper and be in good health even as your soul prospers. Right? Holiness is not lack. Holiness is alignment. Now here's another one, is that, uh, a lot of times because it— you know, we, we— uh-oh, I'm freezing. All right, I'm back, I'm back. I'll edit that out, I'll edit that out. I told you I'll help you out for the replay. I'm Okay, um, right, so another myth that, uh, we are taking on in church culture, uh, because of the gift of faith— and I get it, we should operate in faith and everything shouldn't be so rigid and, uh, rigid and static, uh, but a lot of people feel like budgeting is bondage. And to me, debt is bondage, not budgeting. And you know what I told somebody one time, because Um, you know, I, I love the, the, the gift of generosity, all right? I love giving, right? But there's a way you can even budget and you can structure and you can plan to be a giver. You can plan to be generous. The problem is it's not enough planning that happens, right? There's not enough planning. And what happens is people are a little bit overly spontaneous and they don't plan to set themselves up to be, uh, flexible, to be generous. You can plan for that, okay? You can have a budget to give. You can have a budget to be generous. Don't, don't overcomplicate this and feel like everything has to be like out the box, you know, you're unaware, you're giving, you know, you emptying out your entire bank account, and if you don't do it that way, then it's not God. That's not the truth. Budgeting is not bondage. Debt is. And if you're in debt, trust me, God wants you to align yourself and clear that debt. And then the other myth, the last myth, is that God will do it all. Okay, listen, okay, because it's so many people that just think God gonna do it and won't he do it, won't he do it. Okay, well, won't you, won't you do it? Because he gave you the power to become wealthy. How about you? Won't you do it? Okay, won't I do it, right? Because God gave me the power to do it. God provides, but he partners with prepared people. And we're going to see this in a minute, right? Heaven sends the resource, but stewardship sets the container. Now let me give you a quick diagnostic that you can do tonight, okay? 5 questions that expose whether you're aligned with a budget, uh, with abundance, or if you're disciplined, um, or I say not disciplined but discipled by scarcity, I would say, right? Number 1, look at your— because you can assess these things in your life. Your calendar, does your time reflect learning to multiply? Reading, planning, building? Again, you can structure these things. Or only earning and consuming? Your bank statement, how many times have you looked at that? How many automatic payments go to liabilities versus assets? All you got to do is look at your bank statement. Your words, Are you constantly saying, I can't, it's too late, it's too hard? I'm learning, I'm building, I'm, I'm, you know, I'm gonna get it one day, you know? Because your language— and I did a whole message on this— is steering your life. What about your legacy plan? Hear me out, you guys. If you died tonight, if you died tonight, are you handing your family assets or a stack of bills? And a GoFundMe link because that's, that's what we do. And I'm not saying that there's nothing wrong with, you know, having— you need— being in need of help. I'm not saying nothing's wrong with that, but that can't be the only plan that we have. And guess what? It's in the culture. So now we see one person doing it, and so now everybody doing it. Now we just gonna— we, we just leave. We don't have no, no responsibility, um, for what we leaving to the people behind us. They already got a mourn and grieve because we're out of here, and now we're handing over debt. We don't have no assets, we have nothing to leave them. Now they gotta go and do a GoFundMe link and ask people to donate money, and because they don't have the money. And, and I get it, it's hard and stuff, but now because this person doing it, now this person doing it, now that person doing it, and now this is just our— this is the, the way people are living. Instead of saying, you know, to me I would think that when you see this type of stuff happening, that you say something like, oh no, I can't do that, I need to go get my insurance and set myself up real quick, I can't, I can't do this. But no, that's not what people doing. What people doing is they're looking at it and it, and it sets a temperature. It's setting the temperature for, for the, the mundane, for the, the comfort zone. Like, you know, almost like, well, if I leave out of here, I ain't got nothing to do with it, I ain't gonna have no thoughts about it. But we gotta plan better. We gotta have a legacy plan. And then the last thing I want you to assess is the order, the order of your life. Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all these things will be added. Are you seeking the kingdom first, or are you seeking the lifestyle first and then asking God to bless the leftovers? Okay, abundance is not an amount, it's an order. Okay, and when you get the order right, when you remember the Lord, when you seek first the kingdom of God, when you steward well, provision will start to flow. When the order is wrong, increase can actually magnify dysfunction. More money won't fix what mismanagement will break. And what I want you to shift in is I want you to, to, to make, uh, before we go any, any further, what I want you to do is stop asking, does God want, want me to have enough? And start asking, am I willing to be the kind of steward he can trust with the more? Because God doesn't have a resource problem, he has a readiness problem in most of us. And I'm gonna, I'm gonna show you exactly what readiness looks like because the next piece that we're about to unpack is a story where a family loved God, served God, and still landed in financial crisis. Not because God failed them, but because stewardship and owner— and order, okay, stewardship and order were missing. It was missing. And when God moved, he moved through their preparation. So stay with me with this, okay? Now I want to read really quickly, am I willing to be the kind of steward he can trust more? Yes. I want to read very quickly, uh, 2 Kings chapter 4. Somebody said this is good. All right, come on, y'all. Yes, Lord. All right, all right, all right. Budgeting is not about— I'm happy y'all listening. I'm happy y'all listening because here is the meat of it, and this is going to blow your mind. Okay, first, uh, 2 Kings chapter 4. Let me, let me find— I'm gonna read it. I'm gonna read just the first, um, it says this. Listen to this, uh, the wife of a man from the company— we in, uh, 2 Kings chapter 4, and I'm reading it— the wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, your servant, my husband, is dead. And you know that he revered the Lord. He re— he revered the Lord, right? He's a prophet. He's in the— he's in the company of the prophets. You know, he revered the Lord, okay? But now his creditor, the people who he owe money to, is coming for his money— his money that he owe, right? The creditor is coming to take my two boys and his slaves. Imagine being married to a man of God who revered the Lord. I mean, a praying man. I mean, he just, uh, going in. He loves God. He loves his family. He's with the company of the prophets. And when he dies, his creditors come and ask for the payment through trying to take your kids from you. Now this may seem kind of like, whoa, that's, that's, that's crazy. But I'm gonna tell you right now, this is where most people are, okay? This is what— as a— especially as a Christian, you really want to take care of this because there's nothing worse than being a Christian and leaving behind your debt for the, for the, for the creditors to come. I mean, the woman already a widow, the husband ain't— obviously left her with nothing. Matter of fact, he left her with debt, and now they're coming to take her kids from her. This man has so much debt that he owed that they, they want to take the kids as slaves. All right, now, so her husband's a prophet, uh, a man of God. He's a spiritual leader, but when he died, he left her debt. And not just debt on paper, collectors at the door threatening to take her sons as slaves to pay it off. Family, let that sink in. This not okay. This is not okay. Let this sink in. This man was godly, but his financial life was godless. Do you hear what I'm saying? Hit the like button for me. Do you hear what I'm saying? His financial life was godless. We cannot do this, right? Somebody said, thank you for teaching. You are so welcome, right? We do not want to be Christians praying and fasting, prophesying and all, and going and all that we doing, and we have a godless financial life, right? Let that sink in. Because, because he loved God We know that and we love God. See, so I'm trying to explain to you, loving God ain't enough to get your house in order, okay? In, in a sense that the Bible says that this man Virg, I'm getting stuck again. All right, I think, I think the Wi-Fi kind of just totally went out. All right, all right, all right, can you Can you hear me? I think my, my internet completely went out. We gonna get through this, we're gonna get through this. All right, all right, can y'all hear me? I'm trying to, I'm trying to work this thing. All right, it left for a while, but I'm gonna edit this out. I'm so sorry, you guys. Thank y'all for sticking with me. Um, yes, thank y'all for sticking with me. All right. All right, I'm gonna continue where I was at. So we have a man— I'm— somebody said I'm slipping. I'm back, I'm back, I'm back, I'm back. I hope I'm back. I think, I think the Wi-Fi just completely went out. I got to get this fixed right away, y'all, right? So, all right, so we're gonna let what I said sink in for a minute because you loving God is not always enough to necessarily say, okay, Well, just because I love God, my finances are going to be in order. That is not enough, right? He loved God, but he left no legacy except liability. He left his family liability. And how many Christians are doing the exact same thing today, right? How many people are doing the exact same thing today? You can— like I said, you can pray in tongues, you can serve in church, you can, you can, and you can still pass your kids nothing but bills, and that is not inheritance, that is bondage. Faith without stewardship leaves your family exposed. The prophet was faithfully spiritually— okay, he was, he was spiritually faithful, but he was negligent financially, and his family paid the price. His family paid the price. Now I do got good news. You know why? Because for anybody who's ever done their finances wrong, or who's gone in the wrong direction, who don't have it all together perfect, guess what? God's mercy will show up. The widow cries out to Elisha, and Elisha gives her an instruction that sounds really crazy. As a matter of fact, he says, go and borrow vessels, as many as you can, and then take a little oil And then you have to start pouring. Okay, now I wanna, I wanna point out 3 things about this miracle because it was a miracle that happened, right? If my father is to leave an inheritance, I surely don't want to inherit debt. That's right. Now I want you to notice 3 things about this miracle because there's a miracle coming to you. I promise you there's a miracle coming to you just like the widow. Number 1, God didn't— let's, let's remember, God didn't drop gold from heaven, okay? This miracle, what he did was— and pay attention to this because I always tell y'all this— he used what she already had, a small jar of oil. That means your miracle is not coming from some outside, like lottery ticket, outside just explosion of money coming to you. Is coming from the little that you're willing to steward. Don't despise the day of small beginnings. He told her to go get something she already had. He didn't tell her, wait for this, wait for a new job, wait for open door, uh, wait for somebody to give you, wait for somebody to hand you something, wait for the opportunity. No, no, no, no, no. He said, go back to your place and get, get these bottles of jars. Number 2, what I, what I know from this miracle, and I want you to catch this, is that the provision matched her preparation. So the oil flowed only as long as there were vessels ready to be filled. No jars, no miracle. Okay, no jars, no miracle. That means God's abundance is limitless. But your container isn't. Gotta know that. If you don't prepare accounts, investments, businesses, systems, there's nothing for him to feel. You don't open up a brokerage account, there's nothing for him to feel. You don't open up a, a high-yielding savings account, there's nothing for him to feel, right? The provision is going to match the preparation. Okay, his abundance is limitless, but your container isn't. And he's gonna fill according to the instructions that you're following. Okay, then the number 3— what you notice from this miracle is that her action is what unlocked the overflow. She had to borrow, gather, pour, and sell. It wasn't and passive. It wasn't passive. She didn't just wait on the Lord. You know, so many people, I'm just gonna wait on the Lord, if the Lord will. You know, I used to always hear people say that. It's like, okay, well, I'll see you tomorrow, if the Lord will. Okay, you're gonna open up that, if the Lord will. If the Lord will? What about if you will? I'm sure the Lord already wants you to do what he called you to do. All you can do is go in the scripture and read that for yourself. And I've given you power to be wealthy, right? So why— what are you waiting on the Lord for? The Lord is waiting on you, okay? He waiting on you to go get those jars. He already gave you some type of instruction that you're not following. But thank God that God is a God of miracles. Thank God that he's a God of mercy, right? So, so she didn't just wait on the Lord, she worked the instruction. Obedience plus action equals provision. And here is the most powerful detail. The Bible says she not only paid off the debt, okay, she not only paid off the debt that her husband left her— see, she ain't even had time to be whining and complaining and all of that at the, at the time when she has to do what she has to do. Now don't get me wrong, I know it took a lot of faith for her, but in the action, you just, you can't— you got to let all that go. Hey, We gotta forgive and we gotta move on. Some of you may not have a financial blessing because there's unforgiveness in the way. Maybe your situation or your circumstance, you feel like it's somebody else's fault, but you gotta just get rid of that. You just can't play the victim anymore. You just gotta let it go. Let it go and forgive. If God can have mercy on you, then you're gonna have to have mercy on whoever put you in the circumstance that you in, if it came from somewhere else, right? So we got to give this— we got to give the same amount of mercy that God has given us. If he is willing to make a miracle happen for you, let it go. I promise you, let it go, and, and you won't be stifled any longer, right? The Bible says she had enough not only to pay off the debt, but she and her sons lived on the rest. So God didn't just cancel the debt, he created generational provision for her. But let's not miss this warning. Why was the miracle even necessary? Because a man of God failed to align his finances with God's order. His neglect left his family very, very vulnerable. And that is the tension. That's the tension that we all wrestling with. You can love God and still leave your kids and your grandkids in a crisis. Okay, that's the truth I want to share. Or you can love God and you can leave them a legacy. So let me ask you, what jars are you preparing right now? Okay, are you praying for more, or are you creating vessels for God to fill, right? Because sometimes we use prayer as a means to, like, It's, it's almost like to make ourselves feel good for what we're not doing, okay? It's just like God didn't say to pray for the sick, he said to go lay hands on the sick, right? He didn't say pray for their salvation, he said go preach the gospel. Everything he said for the breakthrough comes in an action, an assignment, an instruction. I feel like I'm getting some back. There we go. Everything that God wants you to have on the other side is on the other side of an action. It's on the other side of an instruction. It's on the other side of obedience, okay? So don't pray for stuff that you need to be doing, okay? That, that's a cop-out. Out. It just makes you feel good about yourself. It's a cop-out, right? So what jars are you preparing right now? Are you just praying, or are you creating these vessels that you need God to fill? God will not pour into empty air. He pours into prepared vessels. That's who he pours into. Now remember I mentioned this, that, uh, was it John I don't, I don't know the location. 3 John 1 and 2, I think. Beloved, remember, beloved, I wish above all things— listen, above, you know, I'm trying to think because I think the Bible talks more about money than it do sin, but that's for a different day. I gotta, I gotta go back and research that. But beloved, I wish above all things, all things, that you prosper and be in good health even as your soul prospers. Now notice these three points. I wish that you would prosper financially, that you be in health physically, right, and prosper as your soul prospers spiritually. And that's God's will for your life. It's holistic prosperity, okay. Now not just a fat bank account while your body breaks down, or not just a healthy body while your mind is tormented, not just a, a spiritual high while your family is drowning in bills. God's vision is complete, complete, complete abundance in every area. And John 10:10 reinforces it because he says, I came that you may have life and that more abundantly. But the catch is abundance just don't fall from the sky. The bowl didn't just sit in her house and wait for the jars to fill themselves. That ain't, that ain't gonna happen, y'all. That ain't the woulda, shoulda, coulda praying for— that ain't gonna happen. And I, and I love prayer. I believe in prayer. The Bible talks about prayer, praying without cease, right? But intercession— I told somebody this at one point— there's a, there's different expressions of intercession. Okay, intercession is interceding, you know, in the mercy of God, in the stands of God, in the position as an ambassador of Christ. And you can do that through different means, right? If you— I, I interceded when somebody needed to sell their house and they couldn't afford it anymore because they, they had a dad that just passed away and the mom was in a nursing home and the daughter had her house and her bills and she couldn't afford her mom's house and bills anymore. So she needed somebody to come and buy the house and and I interceded, all right? That's, that's intercession in action. I interceded and I was able to purchase the house for her and, and get her out of a bad situation, right? We all— we, we look at intercession as just— no, nobody cares about somebody praying all day that's gonna wind up broke and sick and evil and mean and don't— you know what I mean? Like, that— I, I get the most— I, I've encountered the most, like, mean, nasty praying people that I've ever seen in my life. And I'm like, how in the heck can you pray this much and prayer not somehow hit your life to where you have the character and the characteristics of God, where you're not doing the things that God told you to do? You know, like, it doesn't make sense. All of these theories that we live by don't make sense. I love God. What? How? How do we know that? What does that mean when you say I love God? What does that mean, right? How do you show that? Peter, will you feed my sheep? Will you feed my sheep? Will you feed my sheep? You say you love me, will you feed my sheep? Action, action. Love is action. It's not this theory. So when people talking about I love God, I love God, like, we don't know you love God. We got to look at your life. You better have your life like an open book, ready to be read by others and inspired by others. And we not inspired if you're not financially or you're not physically living in abundance. That's not inspiration at no— by no means, it's not. And so if we really want to inspire the world, we need to align these ideas of of our love for God and these ideas of our love for the Bible and our love for— we gotta like— heaven and earth gotta agree, y'all, right? Heaven and earth. First natural, then spiritual. Because you got to give some— God something to work with, first of all. And God, if he can work— he— if, if you can do— if there's something natural— the jars were natural. That wasn't a spiritual— the miracle was spiritual, but he told her to go get some natural things, right? So you need some natural things that you need to be doing. Everything ain't all spiritual. First natural, then spiritual. That's what a parable is, is being able to bridge the gap of truth between the known and the unknown, right? He that got ears to hear. Anytime you encounter Jesus, he started with natural things. He started with a natural story, something that people can understand. You got them jars with that oil that you can pour that— oh, you understand that, right? As a— what you, you got that? Go get that, and then the miracle can happen. Get some education, learn about financial wisdom and intelligence, and I can— God say I could work with that, okay? Go open up a brokerage account. God say I can work with that, okay? Stop, uh, get, get you a budget together. Stop spending on— God can work with that. God— these natural things that you should be doing in the natural order of your life, God said I can work with that. But everybody's so deep, y'all so deep, y'all praying, you know what I mean? And everybody's so deep that the natural not standing out. So, so John again, 10 and 10 reinforces that, right? And that's how abundance work, is that you create the vessel, you put in the discipline, you remember the source. Don't forget the source. Remember the Lord, he is the one that gives you the power to get well, and then God feels it. Let me say it plain: abundance is cultivated. It's built day by day in the way that you think, the way that you speak, the way you handle what's already in your hands. How are you handling it? So if you tired of— I'm just tired, I'm stuck, I'm living paycheck to paycheck, I'm tired of praying for miracles but never the, the preparation of multiplication never seems to fall in my lap— it's time to shift. Stop measuring wealth only by numbers, also in an account, okay? Start measuring alignment— spirit, soul, body, and yes, finances. Because when those align, that's when you step into real prosperity, the kind that doesn't just bless but it outlives you, okay? But guess what? Your debt can also outlive you. So we got to make a choice, y'all. We got to make a choice. And I wanted to inspire you on this. How can you intercede righteously if you are not touched by the feeling of infirmity? You're You were touched by the plight of that woman to pay off her home. What a blessing. Absolutely, absolutely. And I was so happy to be able to do it. I was so happy to be— and guess what? You know what? That speaks more volume, you guys, than me telling her, well, you know what, girl, I'ma just pray for you. I know you're going through a rough time. It hits a little different when somebody can step in and say I can, I can step in and I can intercede in this situation and give a real solution. That's a real solution. And I'm not saying— I mean, we should, we should pray for people. The Bible talks about it. But I'm saying we got to go from, we got to go from level to level, y'all. We, we can't stay at just one level. We're going from level to level and from glory to glory, okay? So you got to change your approach. If you don't change your approach, the system— and I always talk about the system— it will still um, keep you making everybody else wealthy but you. And God wants you to prosper, right? But the, the moment when you remember the source, when you prepare the vessels, when you take action, uh, when you stop being the borrower and you start being the lender, then you'll start leaving behind a legacy. You won't be leaving behind bills, you're going to leave behind a legacy. And that's what we all want, right? Now I want you to hit that like button. I wanted to remind you of this because God is our source and he is the one that do miracles. He is the one that gives you the power. The power is not in your own strength. It's not in your job. Don't rely on, you know, uh, don't rely on your own, uh, resources. He is the source, and he can really bless you. And I really think I said it in the last— you got to go back and watch the last video to understand. I said the anointing of the snowball is coming upon you. The snowball. You got to go back and watch to see what that, that means. But I want you to be reminded, and I want you to also be encouraged, okay?
