Protect Your WEALTH from TOXIC People — They’ll Keep You Broke

In this live‑style YouTube talk, Kamilah Stevenson urges viewers to protect their wealth by recognizing and distancing themselves from three toxic personality types that sabotage financial growth: the Victimized, the Entitled, and the Mis‑manager. She frames wealth‑building as both a practical and spiritual endeavor, warning that systemic structures (government assistance, caregiving institutions) are designed to keep people dependent and that even well‑meaning loved ones can become financial drains. Drawing on her psychology and counseling background, she explains how each personality type operates— the Victimized clings to a narrative of powerlessness that pulls others into guilt‑driven stagnation; the Entitled believes others owe them and surfaces when the individual starts to succeed; the Mis‑manager mismanages money, health, time, and relationships, creating a slow‑burn erosion of wealth. Stevenson stresses the importance of firm boundaries, stewardship, and intentional community, citing biblical proverbs to reinforce her points. She repeatedly prompts audience engagement (likes, comments) and concludes with a promotion for a 90‑Day Mindset and Wealth Challenge, offering resources for health, habit reset, investment education, and accountability. The talk is positioned as motivational, educational, and faith‑based, with clear calls to action and practical advice for protecting one’s financial future.

Listen, uh, we have been taught— okay, we've been taught to look at poverty as a lack of money, but sometimes it's, it's really a presence. The presence of people who drain your vision, who, uh, sabotage your boundaries, and who can poison your peace, right? And the truth is, most of us are surrounded by them— people who don't want us to break free because our growth would, what I would say, confront their stagnation. It's not about you, it's about them often. And in this video I am going to— and I'm telling you, I really feel like if somebody miss out, they're missing out on a blessing, because in this video I'm going to walk you through 3 types of people that quietly destroy your wealth. And, um, I don't want you to sabotage your next season. Especially as we're building wealth and understanding, uh, what it takes to start even investing, right? I've been talking a little bit about that. I've been talking about what wealth— the wealth transfer really means. If you don't know it, go back and look at the other videos. I— and I want to say this right away because I'm going to hit on some, some toxic personalities, and I want to say right away, I am not here to judge, but I do want to help you to protect your vision, your energy, your money, and your legacy. Because if you do not protect what you are building, you will leak value trying to keep everybody comfortable, and that's not what this is about. All right, all right, I'm looking at the comments. All right, listen, um, again, if you're on here, uh, on YouTube, hit the like button right away because I know you're gonna like the video. Um, I know you're gonna like the training. It's going to be a blessing. And before I go any further, I do want to say this, and I want to say it loud and clear. This is not financial advice. This is for educational and informational purposes only. I am not your financial advisor. I do not know your financial situation, and you could absolutely lose everything from any investment you make. So if you are looking for a professional, uh, plan to hopefully retire in 40 years, then go talk to your licensed financial advisor. Probably has like that little pie chart waiting on you and everything. But me, hey, I'm just a crazy person who happened to watch my portfolio jump $40,000 in the last 3 days, right? Right, because cryptocurrency is running right now. But don't listen to me, I clearly do not know what I'm doing. So again, do your own research, talk to somebody with a license, and only invest what you're willing to lose. Okay, all right, cool, we got that out the way. Let's dive into this. It's going to be Awesome. All right, listen, there is a— and, and I got a passion to talk about this because I had a conversation with somebody on the phone today that made me really want to talk about this. First, let me explain to you that there are systems that are designed to keep you dependent. Hear me clearly. Share this video with somebody. Hit that like button. There are systems designed to keep you dependent. All right, so let me say this before we even get into the, the different type of personalities that I want you to watch out for. We have got to start with the system, okay? Because here is the real setup. Most of what we've been taught about, um, about help wasn't really built in a way to empower us. It was built to control us. Any type of help, any type of assistance, any type of aid— there are systems that look like they want to save you, but they are really, um, trying to shape you into something or someone who will not leave the system, okay? The system wants you dependent, obedient, and quiet. You know how I know? Because I sat and watched this happen with one of my relatives, my granddad. Um, I remember when he was, um, headed to the— I guess the nursing home or whatever. And in order for him— in order for them to keep helping him, they had to drain all his resources. I don't know if somebody understand that. If you haven't dealt with a loved one going into, you know, a nursing home or something like that, you may not understand. I was just talking to somebody about this. They have to drain your resources in order to help you, okay? So whatever he saved, whatever inheritance is left, um, if somebody was wanting to give him something, is gone because the cost of their help was his independence. So think about this. If you leave money, if you get wealthy and you leave money to someone who's under uh, the assistance of the government, for example, they don't let you keep it. I do, I do want to warn you about that, okay? So as you're building wealth, you need to understand this, okay? Because you're gonna have to— if you're leaving it to somebody, you got to get them out of the system in order for you to pass it on. That wealth, that inheritance will get stripped away. They will drain down every asset before they are going to continue to help that person. In other words, Hear me, the system says, we'll help you, but only if you stay poor. And if you try to rise, we will penalize you for it. Now, why am I saying this? I'm saying this because if you don't see how external control creates internal dependence, you'll never understand why some people who are close to you keep sabotaging your growth. You may not understand it. If you are stuck, if you are stuck in any type of way and you're like, man, I can't break past this cycle, or what— I'm telling you, 9 times out of 10, there is something about your environment that is keeping you sabotaged from growing. And these systems that are in place, they do not just hold people down, they mold you into personalities that resist freedom and resist change. And that's where we start, because the wrong environment will slowly rewire you into something or someone who is afraid to build, afraid to move, and afraid to rise. Okay? And if you're not careful, you can start to shrink, not because you failed at something, but really it's because you stay loyal to a system or a person that only expressingly loves you when you stay small. Hit that like button. We're going to get into these 3 type of personalities that I want you to stay away from and to guard your wealth. And if you have not encountered them, trust me, you will. And do not become them, because these are also the 3 personalities that will keep you stuck and keep you in scarcity. Okay, share this video with somebody who needs it. Number 1 from the 3 toxic personalities that will sabotage your wealth is the victimized. Now let me break this down for you guys, okay? All right, um, I want to break down these 3 different personalities because I really believe I have a gift to catch operating systems or motivating factors behind personalities. I love the study of human behavior. I have a, a psychology degree and an advanced counseling degree, and I've worked with a lot of people in leadership roles, so I understand this. But let's first talk about the toxic personality called the victimized that will sabotage your wealth, your peace, and your purpose. It is the victimized. Now let me explain this personality so that you don't become it and you can identify it. You are going to be so good at this. All right, now this is a person who, who is emotionally addicted to the story that everything is harder for them, and anyone who grows, anyone who breaks through must have had it easier. Okay, don't get me wrong, uh, when we go through trauma, it is so real. Somebody said, whoa, this is good. I'm telling you, it's gonna, it's gonna age like fine wine. Just keep listening. Okay, um, trauma is very, very real, all right? But when someone becomes so bonded to their pain that they can't see beyond it, they, they won't just stay stuck, they're gonna try to keep you stuck too. All right, and here is the trap. I want you to understand the trap. They don't even realize that they're doing it, but every time you talk about an opportunity, maybe an idea or an investment in your growth, they shift the energy. Okay, you got to be able to identify this, y'all, because sometimes when people are close to you, you can't identify because you love them so much. But I'm telling you, sabotage comes because of this. Okay, so the energy starts to shift, and, and they remind you um, that they didn't get a chance. It may not be in literal words, but I'm talking about it's an energy. It's not always in words, but in energy. Um, they'll, you know, talk about how lucky you are. Man, you lucky. You love— you got— oh, you lucky. Okay. Um, and they'll talk about maybe how they've been held back. And sometimes, sometimes when you're in the midst of this type of personality, you are compelled to slow down out of sympathy. And I want you to know this is very, very dangerous because if you don't catch it, you're going to start shrinking. Listen, just to match their limitation, not because they're right, but because you feel really, really guilty for having hope. And that's why Proverbs 13:20 says, he who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm. Okay, and some people just have foolish ways about them. I'm— and I'm gonna— you're gonna see the Fool in all of these different personalities. And listen, what's wild is that you could be— you could be walking in purpose, you could be managing your money, you could be showing up for healing, doing all that you're supposed to do, but if you stay close to someone who constantly rehearses their powerlessness, it will wear on your confidence. You can love people without letting their narrative become your reality. Because here's what's going to happen. People who stay in the victim mode, they cannot even envision breakthrough. And if you cannot see breakthrough, then you will not believe that it's for you. So if they can't see it for themselves, they're not going to believe it for you. So you're not around somebody who's going to believe for you in that way. And this is why God spoke to Abraham, and he pulled him out of the tent, and he said, look up as far as your eyes can— what? See, that will I give you. Because your future is not determined by your surroundings, it is determined by vision. But victimized people cannot look up. They're emotionally married to the pit. And these are the type of people that sometimes you stay around, and anyone who climbs out of that becomes a threat. So they're not going to encourage your investment habits, they're not going to celebrate your discipline, they won't even understand why you building something for the next 10 years. You want You know why? Because they're too busy trying to survive the next 10 minutes. And if you don't set boundaries, their victimhood will quietly affect and infect your mindset, and you're going to confuse self-sabotage with loyalty. That is what the victimized personality will do for you and your wealth. Do not enter into it and have strong boundaries around that. I'm going to go to personality type 2. Hit the like button if you are enjoying this. I'm looking at the comments for a moment. Hit the like button. Somebody said that's good. All right, yes, powerful truths, uh, truthful points made here. Yes, I'm looking at some old comments. All right, good. I love that you're enjoying it. Now let's go on to the second type of personality. Okay, the second type of personality that can destroy your wealth, and this is important, y'all, because we are building wealth. There's a wealth transfer coming. I'm teaching on investments. I'm trying to help people to practically come out of scarcity and out of this place of being stuck and limited, okay? And we're trying to— we're trying to break boundaries in this next season, okay? So the second personality is the entitled. This is the 'you owe me something' type of personality. You owe me, okay? That's that kind of— that personality. Don't— first of all, nobody— for yourselves, nobody owes you nothing. All right, but love— the Bible says nobody owes you nothing. Nobody don't need to come save your day, okay? This is how you need to walk around life understanding this: nobody is responsible for where you are. Nobody. Now, if somebody helped— because there's a lot of entitlement, and when you stuck in entitlement, you can't even be grateful anymore because there's such an expectation on people. It done went from a desire to an expectation. See, desires— when desires are kept desires, you appreciate them better. But when they go into like, I expect you to do this, That is when we have a problem, uh, women and men who are watching. Okay, so this one is sneaky, and the reason why is because the entitled, they don't scream, they just drain. It's the entitled, it's the person who believes that your growth is their gain, that somehow you owe them. They show up when you start winning. Okay, where you been all this time? All these people coming around, you know. You think about it, look at all of the, you know, NBA players and athletes and people who just make— all of a sudden all these people come. I ain't talked to you in years. Where you, where you come from? Okay, they show up when you start with— and I'm not— there's some people who are there the entire, entire way, but even then it's not about— I'm— you know what, y'all, I'm just say this. I'm so happy I don't deal with this in my family. I got such a loving, laid-back family. My family and friends are are not like this. Let me just say that first of all, because they wouldn't be. I, I would distance myself. I wouldn't have friends like this. But they show up when you're winning, and, and when your discipline, um, turns into fruit, here they come. When you start investing, saving, building multiple streams of income— listen, and if it ain't came, it will come. If you plan on being wealthy, they will come. I'm telling you, you got to watch out for this. They are right there with the energy of must be nice. Oh, you should help me. You wouldn't have this if it wasn't for me type of attitude. You gotta watch out. They may be family, they may be close friends, um, but they don't want to build with you. They just want the benefit without responsibility. Have y'all watched the documentaries? It's the same story over and over, how all you do all the work, you doing all the concerts and all everything, and then you got to hire this person in this family, and you got keep working so that they can get paid. It's the same story until they die, until they have a heart attack. They want the benefit without the responsibility. And this is dangerous because guilt— a lot of times people feel guilty when they're so wealthy and everybody around them is not. That cloud your wisdom. And if you don't recognize the entitlement trap You're gonna spend years funding someone's dysfunction while they resent you the whole time. Because you don't, you don't realize people have really deep insecurities when you wind up wealthy, okay? Listen at how people talk about wealthy people now. Like, some people just don't like wealthy people. Why they got all that money? They need to do this. Who you, who you to tell somebody after they've been waking up every day hustling and bustling and working while you watching Netflix and sleeping all day? Now you gonna tell them what to do with their money? Are you kidding me? I'm telling you, it's entitlement. And if you don't recognize this, it's going to be a big problem for your wealth. Let me be clear, it is, it is okay to help people, y'all. I'm not saying that. As a matter of fact, I have a gift of generosity. And I, I'm— again, my family is beautiful, and I can't, I, I, I can't wait to bless them in even greater ways than I have in the past. Like, I've done some things, but I want to do even greater things, okay? And I will, you know. So Right now I am, I'm just focused on what I'm focused on right now. But I'm telling you, um, there are some blessings coming, and I love blessing people who are not entitled, okay? So it is okay to help people, but not on their terms. You hear me? Not on your terms, boo. Not on your terms. You are supposed to help with wisdom and not emotional pressure, okay? You don't want emotional pressure to help people. Proverbs 11:15 says, whoever puts up security for a stranger will surely suffer, but whoever refuses to shake hands in pledge is safe. Why do I say stranger? You might be like, that ain't no stranger, that's your family, you got to take care of them, and all of this other stuff. But guess what? You don't— sometimes they are a stranger. You don't even know them. You don't even know how deep their insecurity run. You don't know the, the the hidden anger that they may have in their heart because you have come upon something. Especially, they're judging you if you're not helping them. If they are entitled, they will judge you for not helping them. You don't know how stuff, uh, how deep that stuff runs. You don't understand. They pop off like that. You don't know who you dealing with. You dealing with some instabilities. You just— you won't know until you wind up in a place where their insecurities come to the forefront. Okay, so sometimes they are strangers. They're just strangers that's family members and friends. Okay, and then you realize what, what really has happened. But again, I'm only talking about toxic personalities, so don't take this and run with it. Because honestly, you should be— the reason why I do what I do is because I do want to help so many people. I do. I got the gift of philanthropy on me. I love to be generous. I love to help. I'm an intercessor. But I'm not just— I want to pray for you, but I also want to intervene for you. I want to intervene, and I got the money to buy your house because you're in a situation. I've done that before, and people don't understand, like, even going into real estate, it's a, it's a, it's like a, a manifestation of intercession. When somebody— I remember one time, uh, one lady's house who I bought, um, and I did a fix and flip on it, she was in a, a really bad situation. Her mom was hospitalized, her father had died, she had her own house, and now she had to keep up with the rent for that house. She needed to let that house go. She needed somebody to buy it right away, and here I come. I interceded. It's the— it's intercession. Intercession is not just prayer. Intercession is when you can intercede and you can bless somebody on behalf of their situation. You have the resources to intercede and bless them. There's different manifestations of intercession. And so we need to be in a place where we can intercede that way, but it's difficult to do with toxic people. And that's why I want to warn you. So, um, Don't try to build wealth, or try to, um, it's— it may be some people trying to build wealth now, or who will try to build, who are building wealth now, or who will try to build wealth, and they, they're dragging dead weight and they're calling it love. No, time to let the baggage go. Love without boundaries isn't love, it's sabotage. Love without boundaries is sabotage. You got to see it that way. Entitled people will not do the work, but they will demand your reward. And if you keep paying for their laziness, they will never change. You will go broke and they will still blame you. That's the interesting thing. They'll still blame you even though you— if you go broke, they'll blame you for all of it. All right, number 3, toxic number 3. All right, I wanna, I wanna try to bring this home. Toxic personality number 3. Watch out for this because this is overlooked. That is what I call the mismanager. The mismanager. Make sure you hit that like button if you like what I'm saying, okay? You have a gift with words. The way you speak on these financial topics just hit different. Thank you so much for that. That is so encouraging. Thank you. And I'll keep doing it. I'll keep doing it because that's what God wants me to do. All right. So the mismanager, um, the mismanager— the way I would summarize this is their life is really the issue, okay? Whatever they trying to make is the issue. Their life is the issue. And again, make sure you don't fall here, all right? So this is a, a, a life of a pattern of mismanagement. They mismanage money, they mismanage health, they mismanage their time, they mismanage their job. They mismanage opportunities, their relationships, all of it, okay? It goes down because how you do one thing is how you do everything, okay? Y'all don't know that. That's, that's— see, when you understand that, you start doing things with integrity, and you understand again how you do one thing is how you do everything, right? So the mismanager is not necessarily malicious, but they are destructive, make no mistake about it. And when you're connected to someone who does not value stewardship, they'll slowly wreck your, your progress as well. And may not know it because it's a slow burn. Y'all gotta understand what the slow burn mean, right? It's like, imagine giving your, your, your keys, um, your car keys to someone, um, that you know they drive with their eyes closed. Like, every time they drive, they drive with their eyes closed. They fall asleep. They don't pay attention. You love them, but they dangerous, okay? Um, again, Proverbs. I love Proverbs because it's just so many wise nuggets in Proverbs 27:12. The prudent see danger and take refuge, okay? But the simple keep going and pay the penalty. You cannot keep giving the keys to someone who won't learn how to drive. That's, that's, that's the bottom line. They don't— you can't keep giving money to somebody who don't want to learn and be educated how to manage their money better. You know, if you loan money— if you— first of all, I don't like loaning money because it makes them the slave to the— to the— the slave is the— I mean, the borrower is slave to the lender. And so it does make them a slave. But, um, if you do, you know, hey, I'm gonna give you this money and you can give it back or whatever, and you see that every time you give money, they, they spend their money on whatever they want, they don't, they don't value the money that they have, what makes you think they're gonna value yours? If you see that cycle and that pattern, you gotta pay attention to it. And because the thing is, people, they, they treat your money a little even different than they treat theirs half the time. But you got to start paying attention because you may be enabling them and you may be shaping them. You got to make sure you're not just— if I'm to keep handing somebody money, first of all, I'm investing in you. So if I'm investing in you, I need to— I need some research. What do you invest in a company without having any research? Like, the companies in the stock market that you invest in, they have to come up with quarterly reports. They have to come and talk about how much they made, how much they short. No. So if I'm gonna keep giving you money, we're gonna sit down and talk about your finances, okay? You're gonna let me in on some stuff, or you know, you don't get help. I have to be let in because something— just, just doling out money to you is not working. So let's just try to figure out, you know, I can keep giving you fish, but like they say, I need to teach you how to fish. That's— there's a lack, there's a gap of education that needs to be talked about. But see, y'all, people don't want to talk about this stuff. They just want to hand money over because they feel guilty and they feel like, oh, you my friend, you, you close to me, you this, and I'm just supposed to keep giving money away like that. No, that doesn't— it doesn't work that way. That is toxic. And these are people who want— think about the mismanager, um, you can tell in their conversation. I listen to what people say because, uh out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth begins to speak and say things. So these are people who always want to start a business, but you ain't never research. Yeah, I'm gonna start that, I'm gonna do— okay, when did you research? Is it written down on paper? Have you looked up your competition? Have you done anything? You know what I mean? These are people who complain about being broke, but they blow their paycheck every single— you, you complain, but every single paycheck you going to buy new stuff. These are people who say, I want to change, but they just live on autopilot, stuck completely in their cycle, okay? They're not coming out. The hard truth is, if you surround— listen up— if you surround yourself with mismanagers, they're gonna drain your urgency. You hear me? They're gonna drain your urgency. They're gonna normalize inconsistency. They're gonna always have a story, a crisis, a reason, and no result. You gotta be able to protect yourself from people like this, you know. And that's why you really got to get around people with the same values. And you're gonna think— if you're around a mismanager constantly, you may think you're being loyal, but you're going to slowly become one of them. I'm telling you, birds of a feather flock together. Ain't nothing new under the sun, y'all. That is why a part of wealth building is protecting your environment, right? This message is not about inspiration, it's about insulation. You have to insulate to protect the temperature. That's, that's what happened when you insulate a, a space, a room. You have to protect the temperature, the urgency, the momentum. Listen, put in the chat, you will not slow me down. I don't know what that you is, but whatever that you is You tell, you will not slow me down. You will not slow me down. Put in the chat, you will not slow me down. I love you, I'll be there for you. Hopefully I can help educate you. See, I don't like to just give away stuff. Like, I like to educate, you know what I mean? Like, I don't want to just, you know, I want to help you. Hey, what are you struggling with? Let me see if I can help. Let me see if we could talk through this. If they don't want to talk through it and they just like, no, give me your— no, I don't need to hear all lad in the scene. Here you come judging me, talking about— okay, okay, all right. Well, guess what? You gonna stay in the same cycle and I ain't got nothing to do with it. All right, call somebody else there who gonna listen to it, right? Boundaries are not mean, y'all. I'm being funny about this stuff, but I know y'all know some people like this, right? And I'm telling you, I'm talking as if you about to become multi-millionaires. I'm not talking to no chumps right now. I'm not talking to people who still stuck on a dollar here and a dollar there. I am speaking to your future. I'm speaking to your success. I'm speaking to your tomorrow. That's why I'm being this passionate about it, and I want you to be passionate about it. Boundaries are not mean, they are wise. You can love people without following their patterns. I just want to help you to understand that. I see it in the chat. You will not slow me down. You can serve people, you can bless people without sinking, but you have to be honest about who is in your circle, y'all. Be honest about who's in your circle. Don't be mean. I'm not a mean person. I— anybody who, um, me— I'm being overly passionate for some of you right now, but I am a very calm, peaceful, loving person. I give the shirt off my back, um, to you. So I'm I'm much nicer than maybe what this even sounds like, but I, I need to come across strong because I do know that this situation happens with so many people, right? And so listen, um, whether you are— whether you, you're around people who are playing the victim, whether they expect a payout without investing in anything, or whether they simply mismanage every single thing they touch, the results are always the same. If you're around them and you're exposed to this day in and day off, your wealth is going to suffer, your peace is is going to suffer. Your potential is going to suffer, and your vision is going to get smaller by association. So you got to come outside of that. The Bible says that bad company, uh, bad company corrupts good character, and it will also corrupt good stewardship. And this is why it's not just about what you're building, it's who is close enough to ruin it. That's what I want to tell you guys. Who is close enough to ruin it? That's what you got to protect. And you know what, as I, as I, uh, in here, I just want to say the reason why this sometimes hurt when you're dealing with this stuff is because it's not just about money. Sometimes it's about the pain that comes when you, uh, when the people you love most don't celebrate your growth. Sometimes they don't. Uh, most of, most of them are close people. Again, family members, friends, co-workers, um, people who may have once laughed with you, prayed with you, lived broke with you. Um, but now they may side-eye your breakthrough. If you haven't experienced it, I'm telling you, you're going to experience it. People, every time they get married, they come into a new relationship, they're in celebration, there's always this seed, the bad apple in the bunch, that's like coming to spoil everything. Like, it always happens. Any, any person who gets married, I'm telling you, they have the same story. Um, and, or, you know, you change, you got with him and— no, you didn't change. What you did was evolve. Evolved and they didn't. Okay, to them— listen, let me help you with this real quick— to them, your evolvement, or, or evolving, or evolution— that's the right word— your evolution feels like betrayal to them. Your evolution will feel like betrayal to some people because your progress, what it is, is it's a mirror and it shows them what they have not done. All right, that's hard for some people, and that's why sometimes they can make the sly comments or they guilt-trip you. Um, and that's why even for some people, success feels so lonely. But hear, hear me out. You're not too much at all. They are just, uh, used to being around people who are okay with being small, and when you stop shrinking, they didn't know how to adjust. You cannot walk in divine increase while surrounded by emotional immaturity. If someone feels safer— hear me out, this is where I'm gonna close— if someone feels safer watching you stay stuck than watching you rise up, then they were never aligned with your purpose in the first place. They were just familiar with your past. They were never aligned with where you're going, right? And so, um, I wanna, I, I wanna share this with passion. We're not just in a wealth transfer. This is a great opportunity that we're in. We're in a mindset transfer. We're in a culture shift. We're in a season of separation.
