The Payment Rule Change Every XRP Holder Should Watch

SWIFT is forcing banks to switch from legacy MT messages to ISO 222 structured format by November 14, rejecting any old-style unstructured addresses. XRP's ledger is already ISO 222 compliant, positioning it to work with the new system, though that doesn't guarantee price gains. Kamilah Stevenson urges crypto holders to set up tax-efficient accounts now before the deadline creates chaos.

All right, so there's a deadline coming up that you need to know about that I'm about to talk about. ISO 222, you may have heard it. You need to understand what is actually happening. I'm Kamilah Stevenson, and around here we talk wealth. We are going to get into the deadline, November 14th this year. This is a deadline where the messages that move money across borders are going to be forced to speak a new language. Or they're going to get rejected. Now, you may not know what that means, but I'm going to tell you what that means, and it's important for you and the digital assets that you hold. Now, go ahead and like the video, subscribe if you have not already, and I want to say this is not financial advice. Everything I share is for educational and entertainment purposes only. Here's what's happening. Let me help you to understand it because I think all of this is a learning journey and we just need to know what's going on. And, uh, there's just something new every day. There's something fresh every day that's happening., and you barely can keep up. It's so much stuff happening. But here is what I want to share with you today, and I want to keep it very plain. So when a bank sends money to another bank, it does not mail the cash, okay? Obviously, it sends a message, a little packet of instructions that says who is paying, who's getting paid, how much, and where they are. Now, for decades, those messages used an old format called MT. And the easiest way to picture an empty message is to picture a telegram or a sticky note, a cramped little blob of text where the address and the names are all crammed together in one little line with no labels telling you which part is the city, which part is the country, which part is the name. And you'll have to have a human look at it to try to figure it out, okay? Um, a computer can't really read it reliably because it's not structured for a computer to be able to read it smoothly, right? So a person has to step in and try to figure out what the message says. And again, this is the messaging between two banks communicating with one another. And that process, of course, is slow, it's expensive, and it's full of mistakes when you have to do it that way. ISO 222 is the fix. And let me define it cleanly for you because It just sounds like a bunch of numbers to some people. Some people may have heard it. Let me know in the comments if you've heard of ISO 222, and if you hold some of the coins that are ISO 222 compliant, let me know in the chats. Um, but ISO 222 is a global data standard, a shared rulebook for how a money message gets written. So it is built in a format called XML, and all that means is the information comes in labeled fields. Instead of one cramped blob. Okay, so instead you get a clean form. You have a box that says name, a box that says street, a box that says town, a box that says country. Every piece of information has its own labeled slot. So that is what people mean by structured data. These are labeled fields that a machine can easily read instead of a blob text. That has to be managed by a person to see what it all means. So just think of that as the whole metaphor, and I want you to understand that the rest of the way as I continue on. Right now, what's going on is money is learning to speak one common language. Okay? The old MT messages were the telegram, cramped and unlabeled. The new ISO 222 messages, the ones that they call MX, are clean, labeled,. And the technical names are not also as intimidating as they look. The new message type PAX.008 is simply the structured replacement for the old MT103, which was the basic one bank tells other bank to pay this person. Okay, same instruction. One is a sticky note, a blob, and one is a clean form. Now here is why November 14th is a hard wall and not a suggestion. Okay. As part of SWIFT's release on that date, every cross-border payment message has to carry an address that is either fully structured or hybrid, meaning the key pieces are in their proper labeled boxes. The old fully unstructured option, the run-on blob that we talked about, gets decommissioned. Okay, so it's gonna get turned off. If your message still shows up with an unstructured address, it gets rejected., and the minimum you have to provide becomes simple but firm: town name and country in their own fields every single time. So let me say this, this is not an optional guidance. The unstructured path is being removed and it gets sharper because the pressure already started from January 1st of this year. Swift began charging fees just to keep the old MT messaging, uh, you know, carried along. So there's a cost now for the contingency process and the inflow transition, which is the plumbing that takes the old style message and converts it on the way through so the rest of the system can read it. So the old language is now actively more expensive to speak. So you have a stick and you have a clock. You pay more to keep speaking the dead language and you lose the right to speak it at all on November 14th. And this is important, and it's really more important than it sounds because recently, roughly 65% of these messages were still using the old unstructured addresses. That is most of the traffic still speaking the old language, which is exactly why this is a hard cut cover and not a soft little nudge. So it's hard to gently migrate the majority of global payment traffic, right? At some point you gotta set a date and you just gotta turn off the old thing. Now, you probably heard me or people in the crypto community talk about XRP being one of those assets connected to ISO 222 because it's ISO 222 compliant. So let me tell you what that means and what it does not mean. It means the asset and its ledger can speak the same structured language. Okay. So that means that they can plug into the upgraded messaging system. All right. That is very, very useful. But let me also just clarify, this is the messaging and data standard layer. Okay. It is how the instructions are written. It is not the switch that hands settlement over to any one coin. And being compliant is not a guarantee of a price catalyst. Okay. But it is telling you a story. Okay. And this is always going to be an infrastructure story because it is an advantage to have certain digital assets that are already ISO 222 compliant. All right. Hey investor, Kamilah Stevenson here. Quick heads up for all you smart investors watching this. If you're serious about investing in a digital asset portfolio that brings you financial freedom and you like how I've been breaking down crypto but want more than just my YouTube content, I'm putting together something really cool. On July 22nd, I'll be running a free online event called the Wealth Architecture Masterclass, where you'll learn the exact roadmap I provide my high-end clients with to structure their accounts and entities so their wealth is protected, and tax plays to stop handing most of your gains to the IRS. I've never done a free live masterclass like this before, and it's completely free, but we might have to limit spots to keep the quality high and give everyone proper attention during the Q&A. So if you want in, just click the link below this video, grab your spot while you can. And now back to the video. So here's what I want you to understand from the fact that there is a deadline coming, um, is that first of all, it has nothing to do with the chart. You just have to be educated on the assets that you hold. It doesn't make sense not to be. And if you're not, then it's going to be hard to have conviction through this if you're not constantly learning about the assets that you hold. The more educated you are, trust me, the more intelligent you are with the decisions that you make as an investor. So with that being said, I do want you also to know a deadline does one valuable thing. It forces the careful people to get their house in order early on their own terms instead of scrambling at the last minute in panic. Okay? The banks that are ready for November 14th are not the ones who will throw together things on the 13th. They're the ones who set it up right, structured it months ago, calmly on their own timeline. That's what they've done, right? And it's a lot easier when you do things on your own timeline. Do things when there is calm and there is peace, because it's hard to run out of a burning building where you still trying to figure out where the exit is. Okay? You can also do the same thing with your money before anybody forces you. That's the whole reason why I already set up the structure for crypto I hold for the long term. I make that decision early enough where I'm in calm and peace and I can do it right and not have anxiety. Because trust me, you make bad decisions when you're doing it under stress. So I hold a portion of my XRP in a Roth IRA through iTrust Capital because I would rather build the right structure for it now on my schedule than wait until some tax rule or some life event forces my hand and now I'm doing it under pressure. You have to get your house in order before the deadline picks the date for you, right? So if you do not have your asset structured right to protect you from tax implications, then I would suggest that you take a moment and figure that part out while you have the time to do it. And while it is affordable for you to do it, right? There's not always going to be this window of opportunity for you to get in in this type of way. So the link to that is in the description. They have a $100 funding bonus when you fund the account. It is never too late to get your house in order. Trust me. You'll thank yourself later. And, and the things that you're doing now, you should be doing it for your future self, not for your today self. Your today self wants to be impatient and want everything to happen right now, but trust me, your future self is saying, hey, you better get things in order. All right, so I encourage you to do that. And if you do want more hands-on guidance about your portfolio, your tax strategy, what you should be invested in, maybe what you shouldn't be invested in, and how to make it all make sense for you and your family to align with your future and where you want to go, then that is what my clarity calls are there for. There are limited seats available for that, but the link is in the description if you are interested. And I want you to let me know before you go, what is your greatest tax strategy for your digital assets? I would love to hear how you're thinking about things. Maybe you might share something that a lot of people need to consider. Uh, maybe it is a Roth IRA, maybe it is a borrowing strategy, maybe it is the type of businesses or real estate that you might acquire to have tax write-offs. I just want to hear from you. I do I do read the comments. We all read the comments and we learn from them as well. So drop that in the comments for me. And listen, never stop figuring out tax strategies, uh, because that's the one thing, uh, when you become wealthy, that's going to eat away your wealth. And I don't want that for you, and I don't want that for your family. All right, until next time, go ahead and like the video, subscribe if you have not already, hype it if you're feeling extra special. And as always, I want you to stay wise, stay wealthy, and I'll see you in the next video.
