The XRP Ledger Just Did Something It Has NEVER Done Before

Kamilah Stevenson breaks down the XRP Ledger's version 3.1.3 upgrade, which adds Single Asset Vaults and a native lending protocol that embed loan terms and collateral rules directly on-chain. Evernoth committed to deploying hundreds of millions of XRP into the system, marking the shift from a settlement network to a full financial platform.

The XRP Ledger just grew a brand new capability that the network has never had in its entire history, and I want to talk about it. Not too long ago, a network upgrade went live that activated a native lending market directly on the ledger itself. That means that people can now lend and borrow value on the XRP Ledger with the rules of the loans built into the network itself. So for years, XRP was called a settlement network and really nothing more than that. And that just changed. And one of the largest XRP treasuries in the world has already publicly committed to putting hundreds of millions of XRP to work through this new system. Yes, let's get into it even further. I'm Kamilah Stevenson, and around here we talk wealth. I want you to go ahead and like the video and subscribe if you have not already., and, um, some people look at the videos and they're still not subscribed. So go ahead and look at your video right now and see if you are subscribed. And if you're not, just hit that button for me. Now, I do want to say this is not financial advice. Always do your own research. And, um, drop in the comments for me, how long have you been holding XRP? How many years or months? Okay, or did you just get in? I want to know where you are, uh, with your holdings and just how long you've been in the game. All right, now let's explain what just happened, because I think it's a beautiful thing for the XRP community, uh, as there are updates being added along the way. So the update on the Ledger, it is called version 3.1.3, and it activated two new features. And the first one is called Single Asset Vaults, and the second one is called the lending protocol. So I want to break both of those down so you understand it and it makes sense to you. So a vault on the XRP Ledger is not a steel safe sitting in a basement, if you think of it that way. It's not that. It is a digital container with strict rules written into it. The rules say what asset can go inside the vault, what can be lent out, who can borrow, and what the terms have to be. A single asset vault means each vault holds only one type of asset. So one vault might hold only XRP, and another might hold only IRLUSD. Another might hold only some other digital asset, and they are kept separate on purpose. If something ever goes wrong inside of one vault, the problem stays inside of that vault, and it cannot spread across the rest of the network. So think of it like a building where every apartment has its own fireproof walls. If a fire starts in apartment 4B, it does not burn down the entire building. Okay, so that separation is what makes the system safe enough for serious capital to actually use. Okay, so it's built that way on purpose. Now, the lending protocol is what allows lending and borrowing to happen on the ledger itself. A protocol is just a set of rules. Think of it as the rules of a sport. So the rules of basketball say you cannot run with the ball without dribbling. The rules of the XRP Ledger lending protocol says what loan terms have to look like, uh, who can borrow, what the collateral has to be, what happens if someone defaults, and that type stuff. And the rules are not written by a single company that can change them whenever they want. They are part of the network itself, and every loan that happens on the XRP Ledger has to follow them. So if you put those two pieces together, the ledger now has digital containers that can hold pooled deposits and a rulebook that lets the system issue loans against those deposits with terms written into the network. And that is what Native Lending Market actually is. So here's what this looks like in practice. Imagine you have $1,000 sitting in your savings account doing nothing, and the bank takes your money and lends it out to someone who needs a car loan or a mortgage. The borrower pays the bank interest. The bank keeps most of that interest and gives you almost nothing back. That is the engine that has been powering banking for hundreds of years. Now, the XRP Ledger just built that same engine except you cut the bank out the middle. You can deposit XRP into one of these vaults. The system uses that capital to issue real loans to qualified borrowers. The borrowers pay interest on the loan, and the interest flows back to the depositors instead of disappearing inside a bank that you'll never see. So now this is the part that matters most for someone who is serious about this asset class. The loans are not handed out blindly. They are underwritten. Okay, underwriting is an industry term That just means somebody has done the work of evaluating whether the borrower can actually pay the loan back before the loan is issued. So that is what a real bank does when you try to take out a loan. And that's obviously what a serious lender does. So what it means here is that the borrowers have to qualify and the loans have specific terms and the collateral is real because of the underwriting. Okay, so that's the difference between a serious credit market and a crypto casino where anybody can just borrow anything and the whole thing collapses the moment someone defaults., and the institutional capital is already moving on it. Evernorth, a company holding more than 400 million XRP in treasury, has publicly committed to deploying its position through this exact lending protocol. Their chief business officer called it a multi-billion dollar yield opportunity for the XRP community. And so that's not just a press release talking about plans for the next year. That is real treasury holding hundreds of millions of dollars of XRP saying out loud, that they intend to put that capital to work through a system that just got turned on. Now, for years there's been a particular criticism on the XRP Ledger that came from a certain corner of the crypto space. That was that the ledger was too plain. No yield, no lending, no flashy DeFi. And I've said many times that the absence of casino-style yield was a feature and not a flaw, because institutions screen for risk before they can screen for return. They will not deploy serious capital into a protocol where the smart contract code is unaudited and the developers are anonymous and the yield is too good to be real. That kind of yield is just retail investors getting paid to absorb risk that they cannot measure. What the XRP Ledger just shipped is the opposite of that. It is underwritten loans, isolated vaults, written rules into the network itself before a single dollar of capital ever shows up. That is what institutional-grade credit market looks like a settlement network and a network with a native credit market are two different machines. A settlement network moves value from point A to point B, and that's useful. That is what XRP has always been positioned for. A network with a native credit market does that and lets value sit and work while it waits. Your capital is just not parked anymore. It is producing income while it stays inside the system. When a treasury like Evernorth puts hundreds of millions of XRP onto a protocol lending pool, that is the ledger graduating from a payment rail into something much closer to a full financial system. Hey, fellow investors, Kamilah Stevenson here. Quick heads up for all you smart investors watching this. If you're serious about investing and growing a digital asset portfolio that brings you financial freedom and you like how I've been breaking down crypto but you want more than just free content, I'm putting together something really special. For the first time ever, on June 13th, I'm opening the Wealth Architects Inner Circle, where I'll be working with just 15 investors on a much deeper level. This is for investors who want structure, a deep understanding of crypto beyond what I share on YouTube, and a personalized wealth plan built specifically for you. Not just more random information. So if that sounds like you, click the first link in the description to join the Inner Circle waitlist now. Spots will be limited once enrollment opens, and the waitlist members get first priority. So be sure to check the first link in the description and put your name on it. Now we've seen this exact same pattern before back in 2021. The first Bitcoin Futures ETF was approved, and a lot of people in the Bitcoin community were disappointed They wanted the spot ETF. They wanted the real direct product. What they got was a regulated, controlled, slightly boring futures wrapper instead. And that disappointment masked what was actually happening. That controlled institutional first step was the doorway. It taught Wall Street the rails were safe. It set up the spot ETF approval that came years after, and it set up the trillion-dollar institutional flow that followed. A native underwritten risk isolated lending market on the XRP Ledger is the same kind of first step. It is the the controlled institutional version of a brand new capability arriving before the noisy retail-facing version ever shows up. The people who understand what a controlled first step looks like are not waiting for the headlines. They are watching the machine get built. Years of holding XRP through all the noise, lawsuits, and everything that you've held through. I keep saying this because I want to remind you that you have been holding for those who are, okay, and those who didn't get fudged out, all right. I do see some people in the comments that think it's a Ponzi scheme.. And hey, go ahead and sell. You can sell it to me, by the way. The architecture that's being built around this asset, I'm gonna tell you, it is moving faster than retail conviction can usually keep up with. And when an asset reprices to reflect the system being built around it, the structure underneath your position determines how much of that result actually belongs to you. So holding the right asset in the wrong vehicle is gonna cost you a lot of money. And a lot of your gains, you will pay the IRS depending on your state, your tax bracket, where you stay. And after all of the waiting for the architecture to mature, that kind of structural leak is not the way you want to find out that you were wrong about something. And for that reason, I keep a portion of my XRP inside a Roth IRA through iTrust Capital. And the reason why is because the math on long-term term compounding only works if you actually get to keep the compounding. Inside of a Roth IRA, every dollar of appreciation belongs to me and the IRS does not get a cut. So iTrust Capital will let you hold digital assets like XRP, uh, HBAR, XLM, Quant, and other digital assets along with silver and gold backed by real silver and gold and a long of other digital assets inside of that account. They do have a $100 funding bonus if you use the link in the description, and you will get that funded to your account so that you can use for investments. Again, the link is in the description. I want you to know that the Ledger is growing capabilities in real time, so get structured before the next reprice and not after. And let me know, what is one thing that you would actually do with extra yield if it started flowing into your XRP position? Would you pay off debt? Would you stack more? Would you fund a Roth? Or something else. I would love to see, uh, what you would do with that extra money. I want you to like the video if it added value, subscribe if you're not already, and just understand that The Ledger is growing and the architecture is being built in real time. And I want you to be on the winning side of this. So whatever you got to do, don't procrastinate any longer with the steps that you need to take. And as always, I want you to stay wise, stay wealthy, and I'll see you in the next video.
