They Built Millions... Then Lost It All Over One Mistake.

Kamilah Stevenson explains why wealthy people lose everything despite building assets, citing brain wiring that makes them skip estate planning. The three main threats are probate, lawsuits, and taxes. She shows how layering an LLC inside a trust protects assets better than a will alone, using Prince and Aretha Franklin as cautionary examples.

Hey, it's Kamilah Stevenson, and around here we talk wealth. Listen, I just did a free training, and I'm telling you, it was so good that I had to put it here on YouTube so that more of you could experience it. Because what I walked through is something that most people who have spent their whole lives building wealth never stop to understand, and it's the one thing that decides whether everything you built actually makes it to the people that you love, or whether it gets handed over to a courtroom, to a tax bill, and to a fight. I promise you that by the end of this, you are going to see your own situation completely different. Go ahead and like the video and subscribe if you have not already. And just know that this is not financial advice. Nothing I say is instruction for you to make decisions. Everything I speak of is for educational and entertainment purposes only. Always do your own research. Now, real quick, before we get into it, the people who got to attend this training live got access because they were on the waitlist for my Inner Circle. So that is my private group where I'm personally working with just 15 people at a deep hands-on level. So if you are not on the waitlist yet, go ahead and join it right now using the first link in the description, because that is how you get first access to trainings like this one, and you will taste of the kind of value that we go even deeper on in that room. So go ahead and join the waitlist. It's free to join, and you're going to get value either way. Now go ahead and get comfortable, grab something to take notes with, and let's get into it. Here is the training. Yeah, well, we're going to get into it, and I love that you guys are here again. I'm looking at you. I see the excitement. I see everything that's going on. And, um, You know, I'm going to talk about something that I— somebody said very excited, I love that. And I'm going to talk about something that I think too many people ignore. And man, it's one thing to build your entire, uh, your entire plan, but it's another thing, you know, to, um, to ignore the, the, the pitfalls and, and the, the sabotaging mechanisms that will allow you to pretty much lose everything you've built. And so Uh, so I want to talk about that, um, the Inner Circle. I'm looking at one question before I get in about the Inner Circle. Is that about reprogramming my mind from poverty, uh, programming, uh, to the wealthy identity? Because that's what I need. You can't do it without that, Christina. It is impossible to do it without that. 100%, yes. And of course, the— again, the resources, the trainings, there's, there's deeper trainings um, that's involved in that. But you cannot do this thing outside of a reprogramming of the mind. And that's why I love neuroplasticity, and that's why I've studied it for years. You guys know I worked in Alzheimer's, so I studied the brain on every level, okay, um, for over 15 years, right? So I learned about neuroplasticity, and I, and I'm, I'm a heavy proponent that it does take a, a reprogramming of the mind in order to accomplish your goals. And in order to— here's that word, it's an important word, y'all— sustain. Sustainability. Most people don't have it, but I'm going to help you to learn how to get that, okay? And, um, and that is the system that I've also used all of my life to get, uh, to get— I'm praying I get in— to get the, the success that I desire. And, and I've seen tremendous outcomes from that, and I'm going to help you to learn how to do the exact same thing. Boy, it's to be amazing, right? So I'm excited about it, and, um, and I'm excited for you. I'm excited for everyone who is here who will learn how to protect what they are building. And I'm going to get right into it and help you to understand this journey, okay? And so, um, I, I am going to help you to understand, um, you know, the wealth building process and how to protect your assets, because a lot of people are failing at this. And, uh, I just learned something yesterday about, about the, the failure. There's a failure habit that a lot of people have that they don't know that they have, right? We got blind spots. There's something called the failure habit, and, um, and I won't get into that today, but it's a, it's a unique principle, right? So, uh, but I, I, I will go over all of that in my Inner Circle. I mean, trust me, it's going to be a tremendous process, and I hope that, you know, whoever desires to get in, get in, because again, I am capping it at 15 people. Now let me start with this. I want you to picture a man, and let's call him a version of someone that I've met, you know, more than once in my life. Because the person I'm about to describe, I have met this person several times, okay? Now he is in his late 50s, and he has done everything that the world has told him to do. He worked hard for 30 years, he built a business, uh, he bought a house, he put money into his accounts. Uh, every single month, every paycheck, he is storing away money. And somewhere along the way, he crossed into a kind of net worth that most people only dream about. So now he has his brokerage account, and he has his retirement money, and he has a home that is almost paid for. Uh, I don't know if you guys used to watch Dave Ramsey, and he would tell people to pay off their homes, okay? And, uh, that, that You know, that's a good process when you're starting off and you're learning how to be disciplined. You got to get them into that framework first. Um, but this particular person also has a will because years ago someone told him that he should, right? So he signed one and he put it in a drawer and he never thought about it again. By every measure, he can see he is safe, and most people in that, in that circumstance do feel safe, and They feel responsible. He is the guy who figured it all out. And then one ordinary Tuesday, he's gone. He has a heart attack. No warning, nothing happened, just has a heart attack. And by the way, uh, this happens, okay? I just want to say that you can't predict the day that you're out of here, right? But here's what his family walks into if something like that is to happen, because we don't always know, we don't always plan for this type of stuff. We think we're going to be here forever. But in this situation, the accounts that they thought they could reach are frozen. Okay, hear me out. The home cannot, uh, be passed on to the wife the way that everybody assumes. Um, that, that will that he signed, the one that was supposed to protect everybody, sends the entire estate to probate. How did this happen? Which is the public court process that can take a year, it can take 2 years, it can take longer than that sometimes. While the family is grieving, they are sitting in the courtroom. It happens. Uh, the details of everything he's built, the value of the home, the size of the account, who gets what, all of that becomes public record that any stranger, any person can look up. And a chunk of that goes to taxes, and then you got another chunk of that that goes to legal fees. And then a distant relative that nobody spoken to for 15 years— y'all know they come out of the blue, and they suddenly get an attorney and a claim, right? So this person has built real wealth. They probably love their family, and they probably worked hard. Everything was real about this, but the structure, the structure, the structure— without structure, everything that he spent, um, 30 years building just got handed over to the court, a tax bill, and a fight. So around here we do talk wealth, right? And that means that we talk about the part that almost nobody wants to look at. Because what I'm going to do today is I'm going to show you something that matters far more than your next investment. I'm going to show you why what you have built may not be nearly as protected as you think, and what actually keeps wealth safe and intact, when most, uh, that most people don't know, and it matters the most. Okay, and again, this is true for so many people, trust me. Okay, now I see a couple of, uh, I see a couple of questions in the chats. I look at them at the end, right, because I want to make sure— some hope said woodworks. I, I got you on that, right? And yes, yes, MJ, he did. Now before, uh, before I teach you a single structure, I have to talk to you about your brain. I have to. Why? Because this is where I live. Again, my background is in neuroscience, and what I learned studying the brain explains exactly why smart, capable, successful people leave the back door open for their wealth. They just leave it wide open, okay? And again, I'm going to journey through this, but this is something that we will really dig into in the Inner Circle. This is something we will map out and change your entire identity, change your entire personality, and make it very, very easy for you to obtain success. If you ask any wealthy or successful person, was it hard obtaining success. I can guarantee you they will tell you that it was not. As a matter of fact, if you look at statistically, there's— you will understand that it, it takes more work to get from like zero to a million dollars in network than it does a million to 10 million. And I, I'm not just saying that. And you will never hear a successful person say that they are trying to become what— they don't try. They don't try. There's a secret, there's a master to all of this. Trust me, you will learn that. So here is the truth: your brain is wired for survival. It is a deep, like, like, protection mechanism that's engrafted and, and designed in how you think about money, investments, your health. Because the truth be told, this also works— y'all know I'm a health coach— this also works with your health. And I work with a lot of people who struggle to get their health together. I even work with people who had strokes. I have— I don't think a lot of people understand. I work with cancer patients, I work with stroke patients, I work with people who had cholesterol levels of 2,000. I know you ain't never heard of that. I know, I get it. Yeah. And we had to bring those numbers down, and it requires more than just a strategy when you're dealing with someone who has brain damage, who had a stroke, who can't move the left side of their body. There's a different strategy for that. And yes, I have gotten stroke patients who could not move the left side of their body to move their body, okay, to move the left side. And these type of secrets and principles, like I say, they will be learned. The same principle works for health and wealth, okay? So your brain is wired for a, a deep survival mechanism, not for legacy. It's— your brain is not wired for this. That's what most people don't realize. You have to train it. Against the grain. It is built to handle what is in front of you right now— the deadline, the bill, the opportunity, the threat you can see. It is not built to sit calmly with the reality of your own mortality, or a lawsuit that has not happened yet, or what your family will face one day, um, that you won't be ready for or there for. Okay, so when the topic of protection comes up, something in the mind turns away from it. That's why it's so hard to help people to understand this. People are just so excited about making money and getting money and everything, but when they, when they hear about protection and things like that, it bores them. Their brain drifts off. And I know it's not because you do not care, but it is because the brain treats it as a threat and it avoids the discomfort of it. Okay, right. Your brain is wired to put things off. I'll get to it later. I'll get to it after the next deal. I'll get to it when things slow down. I'll invest when I get more money. I'll work out when I get more time. I'll get to it when I get older. I don't need to deal with this right now. When I have more, when life is less busy. And let me tell you something about how the years go by and by and by and you haven't done anything. And the wealth grows and the exposure grows right along with it and the structure still never gets filled. This is how the brain is wired, because there is always something more urgent and more comfortable to focus on. That is the brain that you are dealing with. And like I said, I study this type of stuff. There's a second trap layered on top of that as well, and it is the illusion of safety. When you have money in good accounts, uh, when the numbers look healthy, your mind reads that as protected. But having money and protecting money are two totally different things. One is about accumulation, and the other is about structure. You can be excellent at the first, accumulation, and then completely exposed on the second. And most successful people are because nobody ever taught them the difference. And there's one more thing happening underneath all of this, and I have to name it because it is human and it is real. To protect your wealth, you have to face two things that you would rather not face. And it's the truth. You have to accept that one day you will not be here, and you have to give up a little control today in order to gain real protection for tomorrow. Those two things are very, very uncomfortable. Very uncomfortable. And so because they are uncomfortable, people avoid the entire conversation rather than just sit with the discomfort. And the avoidance feels like peace, but it's not peace. I'm telling you, it is exposure wearing the costume of peace. It is a tragedy, as a matter of fact. So if you have been putting this off, I'm not here to shame you at all. I'm here to tell you that the very thing that your brain wants you to avoid is the thing that determines whether what you built survives you. And once you see this clearly, I'm gonna tell you, you're not gonna unsee it. And it is the first step to actually doing something about it, and I want you to do something about it, okay? And it— Hope said it's got all the excuses. Program, program, sabotage. Now let me organize the danger for you because I want to lay this out so you can see it, okay? Uh, and because most people lump all of this under one boring phase, uh, estate planning, okay? And then their eyes glaze over and they tune out because it don't sound as exciting as the bull run. Okay, and I don't want you to tune this out. I'm telling you, if you're going to be successful, this is one of the greatest things that you're going to work on. And guess what? You're going to work on it for the rest of your life if you plan on being wealthy. So I want you to see this clearly, okay? So I'm going to break down the danger into 3 separate threats, and I promise you, most people only ever worry about one of them, if that, if that, okay? Now, Evan said I'm being exposed today. The first one, and we, we mentioned this just a little bit, is a probate. The first one is probate, and, and I don't, I don't think people really understand how devastating this is, and I'm going to give you some examples to make it real for you. Probate is the court process that your estate goes through when you pass, uh, to validate your wishes and to transfer your assets. And here's what most people do not understand: a will does not avoid probate. A will is your ticket into probate. It is a letter to a judge telling the court what you wanted, and the court still has to oversee the entire thing. A lot of people don't know that. That means delay, often about a year or more, while everything is completely tied up. How's that for your family? It means cost, um, because the legal and court fees come out of what you leave behind. It's going to come out of that, trust me. Ain't nobody paying for that. And it also means exposure, because guess what? Probate is public. Now, if you are wealthy and you got everything exposed, people can see that. And let me tell you how sophisticated the scams are right now. You guys see it. They are— they study you. They come after you. You're not just targeted randomly. No, there are sophisticated scammers that target you. And when you make your stuff public, you have put, put a big target on your family's back, okay? And so now you have anybody who can walk into a courtroom or pull it up online, see what you own, who got what. Your private financial life becomes a public document at the worst possible moment for your family. Most people don't know this, so they think a will is okay. Number 2, the second threat is lawsuits and creditors. Now this one almost nobody sees coming, and it does not wait until you die, trust me. This is exposure while you're still very much alive. If you own things in your name, a rental property, a business account, uh, real estate, uh, real assets, Um, and somebody sues you— a tenant, a business dispute, a car accident— those personal assets can be reached. Yes, they can. So the wealth that you worked, uh, for can become the target of a claim that has nothing to do with how hard you worked. And I know a lot of people have lost a lot of money just based off of lawsuits. And most successful people are just walking around with everything, titled in their personal name, uh, just completely exposed because they have never separated themselves from their assets in a structured way. It happens to most people, okay? So we gotta take care of that also. Somebody said, dang on leeches. Yeah, the leeches will come. And then the third threat is taxes and transfer. This is what gets eaten when wealth passes without a plan. Okay, so when assets move from one generation to the next without any structure, they're going to get hit with taxes, fees, and friction that strip away a meaningful piece of what you've built. Okay, so the transfer itself, the simple act of wealth passing from you to the people you love, becomes a taxable, very messy, sometimes brutal event when there is no structure to carry it through smoothly. And I'm telling you, before your second eye closes, they are coming for your money. Now let me make these threats real so you can understand that it is not about being wealthy when it comes to this. There are real people who have experienced this. And because I don't want this to become abstract to you, I need you to understand that real people go through this. And the history has already given us some painful and very public Very public lessons. How many of you all know Prince? You know Prince? I, I know y'all know Prince, right? That guy was brilliant, by the way. My goodness, that guy was brilliant. He was very brilliant. One of the most brilliant artists who ever lived. Okay, I see y'all know who he is. He passed away in 2016 at just 57 years old, and he left behind an estate valued at well over Y'all ready? $100 million. Yet he had no will, he had no trust, he had no plan. And as a result, everything he built was pulled into— guess what? Probate. And remained tied up for years. Of course, people came out the woodwork again, okay, claiming to be heirs. That's my cousin, that's my cousin's cousin's cousin. Uh-huh, I'm related. Who are you? We ain't seen you in 10 years, 50 years. The estate that he had became entangled in legal disputes and tax battles and family conflict, and it was a really nasty battle. What should have been a legacy became a public court case. So y'all know how, how the courts do. All that talent, all that success, and ending up in a position where there were years of litigation because the structure just was never built. How about Aretha Franklin, y'all? Y'all remember good old Rita? Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul, passed away in 2018, and initially it appeared, uh, that she had left no estate plan at all, right? But later there were multiple handwritten documents that were discovered, including one reportedly that was found beneath her couch cushions in her home. Y'all know them old school people. Family members spent years in court fighting over which documents should control the estate. The process again was public, expensive, and emotionally draining. The tragedy— it was such a tragedy, um, and I was really astounded when I saw this. But the tragedy, of course, was not a lack of resources. She had access to advisors She had attorneys. You know, it's interesting when you have access to all of these people and they don't, they don't really care about you. They don't care. They want your money most of the time, so they're not even gonna— they don't really care. You got to understand, you got to care for yourself. All they want is access to your money. And I'm going to tell you guys, I have spent so much money on lawyers and fees and professional, like, I can't even explain it. I am— I had to recently, uh, spend over, over the, over the last, let's say, year and a half, I spent over $50,000 just trying to amend mistakes that my accountant made. Left over $2 million on the table of expenses. Getting paid though, not really caring, just get paid, right? It had lawyer fees, tens of thousands of dollars. I mean, I had lawyers, I'm talking on the phone with them for 5 minutes and they charging me like $1,000. Like, get a $1,000 bill because I had— I'm on the phone with them real quick, like, okay, tell me right quick. I'm like, I wish I could talk as fast as, you know, them people who be trying to, uh, sell the cars and stuff. We got here, we got there. I'm trying to talk that fast because I don't want to heavy bill. But with Aretha Franklin, the problem was that the plan just was never completely, uh, developed. All right, and most people don't think about that because remember how the brain is wired. We got to rewire. We got to go against the grain, okay, for a moment. Okay, we got to go against the current, but the current shifts. Trust me, when you rewire this to think about the future and the planning part and the, the part that you have to build a different personality for— that's why you see a lot of people can gain money but they lose it very quick because there's a different personality for wealth accumulation versus wealth preservation. Okay, and this is not just an old problem. Let me give you one more. Chadwick Boseman— have any of you all seen the Black Panther? Tragedy. He died of colon cancer. Uh, one of the most beloved actors of his generation. 43 years old, he passed away. And I was heartbroken. And I was heartbroken because I'm so connected to Black Panther and the actors. I don't know if you all remember the technology, uh, woman. Her name in the movie was, uh, is it Shuri? Letitia Wright is her name. That's what I know her as because I mentored her for a period of time. Black Panther, right? We got, we got pictures together just like this, me and her. And I used to talk to her very often. We both got very busy, but I was so glued to Black Panther. And so I was so devastated when, um, when I found out that he was sick. He knew he was sick. I've seen interviews of him and he talked about that he wouldn't even be around. I've seen interviews where they said, hey, what do you think, you know, will happen in the future? And he was doing an interview and he was like, I, I don't think I'll be around. And I think the, the interviewer thought he was joking, and she was like, don't say that, you know. I think she was caught off guard. And he said, no, I, I don't think I'll be around. So he knew that he was sick. He died without a will. His family was forced to navigate probate while grieving, grieving an unimaginable loss. So sad. 43 years old. That is the lesson that probate lawsuits and creditors, taxes and wealth transfer— most people fear maybe one of these threats in the back of their mind, but there are three, and all three are very well active, and all three are waiting for anyone who spends years building wealth but never ever take the time to properly structure and protect it. And once you do it right the first time, I mean, at that point you're just you're just, uh, tweaking. And, and it's so much easier when you just lay, lay the groundwork, okay? So the question is not whether something will eventually happen. The question is whether you will have a plan in place before it does, okay? Now here is the map. So what actually protects you? Aha! Okay, I will answer that question. I'm happy you asked. I've shown you the danger, and now I want to hand you the map, okay? Because you deserve to understand the pieces, even if you never build a single one for yourself. Knowing the landscape changes just how you think, and it changes the questions that you know to ask. And so I want to give that to you. So let me start with the will, because almost everybody reaches for it first, and almost everyone misunderstands it. A will is simply a set of instructions to a court. That is it. That is all. It says, here is what I want to happen. And again, the court takes over and makes it happen through probate. I have to repeat that. So a will is not a shield. Anybody— and I know a lot of people who think, oh, I got a will, you know, I'm good. No, you're not. It's not a shield. It does not protect your assets. It does not avoid the court. It does not keep anything private. And it does not save your family from delay. It is better than having nothing, because at least your, your wishes are written down somewhere. But please do not make the mistake of having a will for being protected. A will is the beginning of the conversation, not the end of it. You must go on. Now let me give you the piece that changes everything— the trust— because this is where real protection starts. A trust is a structure that hold your assets, separate them from you personally, okay? So instead of you owning everything directly in your own name, the trust holds it and you set the rules for how it is managed and how it is passed on, okay? And it can be a very detailed process, so you really want to know what you're doing, okay? And there are two main kinds, um, and understanding the difference between them is one of the most valuable things that you can learn today. So please stay with me because I talk to so many people who don't even know the difference. So the first kind is a revocable trust. Sometimes it's called a living trust. Revocable means that you can change it, you can undo it, you can stay fully in control of it. You move your assets into it while you are alive. Don't make that mistake. It's just like when people open up brokerage accounts and HSA accounts and they don't move the assets in, okay? So you do it while you're alive, and because the trust holds them instead of you holding them personally, when you pass, those assets transfer according to your rules without going through probate. I love it that way. No court, no long public delay, no exposure of your private financial life. So the transfer is very smooth and it is private. That is the gift of a revocable trust. The trade-off is that because you kept full control, those assets are still considered yours for certain purposes, which means a revocable trust is wonderful for avoiding probate and keeping things private. But, and here's the but, it does not shield those assets from creditors or remove them from your taxable estate. So the second kind we're coming into is an irrevocable trust, and this is where the deepest protection lives, okay? Irrevocable means that you give up direct control. You place assets into the trust and you no longer personally own them in the same way. Now, giving up control sounds very frightening. I know that, and that's a lot of people's fears, and that is actually why a lot of people never go into that direction. But listen to what you get in exchange, because there's an exchange for this. Because those assets are no longer yours in the eyes of the law, they can be shielded from creditors and lawsuits, and they can be removed from your taxable estate. So the irrevocable trust trades control for real protection. It is the difference between holding everything in your own two hands where anybody can reach it and placing it inside a vault, okay, that you design but you no longer have to carry, okay? So that's the contrast, is that the revocable, you keep control, you avoid probate, and you gain privacy. And the irrevocable, you give up control and you gain genuine protection and estate removal. Neither one is better than the other in the abstract, okay? In the abstract, they do two different jobs. They— there, you don't compare them, okay? Like this or that. They do two different jobs. If you desire this, you do that. If you desire that, if you desire both, they do two different jobs. And sophisticated families often use them together in layers, so each one doing the work that it is built for. Okay, now I want to clear up the single most common confusion that I see because so many business owners get this wrong. People think that because they have an LLC, they are protected, because I know maybe some of you guys are thinking, well, what about the LLC? And an LLC is a very beautiful tool, I love them, but an LLC and a trust are not the same thing, and they do not do the same job. An LLC is built to separate your business activity and its liability from you personally, so that if something goes wrong inside the business, it does not automatically reach into your personal life. Okay, that is liability separation, and it matters a lot. Trust me, it matters. Okay, but an LLC is not an estate tool. An LLC that you personally own is still part of your estate. It still passes through probate. It still gets exposed and taxed on transfer if there is no trust above it. So the LLC protects you from one kind of threat, and the trust protects you from another. And the people who are truly protected Y'all know what I'm about to say. Use them together. The LLC holds the asset, the trust holds the LLC. Let me say that again. The trust— I'm gonna say it backwards— the trust holds the LLC that holds the assets. Okay, let me say it, let me flip it again the other way so you can hear it. The LLC holds the asset, the trust holds the LLC. The trust holds the LLC, the LLC holds the assets. Okay, I want to say that like two different ways twice so you get that. That is layering, and that is what real structure looks like. So I say flip it and repeat it. And here is the piece that ties it all together, the piece that separates people who think they are protected from people who actually are. A structure only works if it is actually built and actually funded. I gotta say that again. I have met people who's— I got an HSA account that gives 6, 7%. What's in it? Hmm, never funded it for 7 years. There have been people who opened up estates and never moved their assets into it. Huge mistake. A structure only works if it is actually built and again, actually funded. I want to say that again. Let me say it a third time. A structure only works if it is built and funded. I cannot tell you how many people sign a beautiful trust document. They feel relieved. They put it in a drawer and they never move a single asset into it. That's a process. You got to learn how to move the asset into it. An empty trust protects nothing. A trust only protects what you actually place inside of it. So what you also retitle into its name, you, you have to move it in there, y'all. So it's not enough to sign papers. The assets have to live inside the structure. And that detail, that one detail, is where most plans fall apart. I promise you, people have done this. They died and they had assets, and then their family realized they had nothing inside of the assets. Had irrevocable and revocable but they didn't know to move the assets. This is why this has to be done correctly. This is why it's also good to be educated even before you talk to your estate planner, because most estate planners are just paying you to create your estate. They're not here to tell you— they're not, they're not a PhD teacher. They're not going to counsel you and instruct you and let you know what actually exists. I've talked to so many people who don't even know what they I'm like, do you have an estate? Yeah. Do you— what kind? Is it a revocable or irrevocable? I don't know. You don't know if it's a revocable or irrevocable? What, what's in there? I don't know. I know I signed a notarized paper. They don't, they don't know. Me— so somebody paid them to send them some documents and put something together. They don't know. You have to know this. Because this is your estate. And this is why people wind up on the short end of the stick with this. Now let me, let me take apart the stories that people tell themselves, because these myths are the reason smart people stay exposed. And I want to pull them out all the way from the root, okay? All the way. So let me cover some myths for you. The first myth is, again, I have to restate this. I have a will, so I'm covered. You now know this is backwards. At this point, I'm hoping at this point you know a will does not protect you, again, from probate. It commits you to it. If avoiding the court, the delay, and the public exposure matters to you, a will alone will never get you there. So if your entire plan is a will in a drawer, you do not have a protection plan. You have a set of instructions for a courtroom. Myth number 2: I'm not rich enough to need this. I'm going to tell you, this one breaks my heart, uh, because it keeps regular families exposed. Probate doesn't check your net worth before it takes a year of your family's life. A lawsuit does not wait until you're wealthy enough to be worth suing. The truth is the opposite of the myth, okay? The less margin you have, the more it hurts when a chunk gets eaten by court costs and delay. Structure is not a rich person's luxury. It is a responsible person's foundation, and it matters at every level. And I can tell you now that if you don't feel rich but you start to understand this and start to build a foundation, there's something about you that's going to change, and you're going to start making better decisions that's going to lead you into success. I can promise you that. The third myth is, again, I'm going to restate this, my LLC protects everything. We just covered this, but it's still worth saying again because it is so common. Your LLC handles business liability. It does not handle your estate. It does not avoid probate on its own. And an LLC you personally own is still sitting in your taxable estate. Uh, it's one tool. It does one job. Do not let one tool give you a false sense of total safety. 4th myth: trusts are only for the ultra wealthy. Now we're going into the trust part. It's for the ultra wealthy, and they are really just about dodging taxes. No, no, no. And I know, like, I know some people have their take on, uh, wealthy people. You know, a lot of people got a lot of bad things to say about wealthy people. If you got a lot of bad things to say about wealthy people your brain is going to wire you to not become wealthy, and you're going to self-sabotage because your identity won't allow you to become what you think is a bad person. How does that work? You think wealthy people are bad, and your identity makes you become wealthy, then now you equate yourself to bad. So there's something about all of your habits that will block that from happening. You won't know this consciously, but it happens subconsciously. So first of all, let's make sure that that's not something that you say, because I get a lot of comments, you know, when in my YouTube I see a lot of comments. I see how people feel, and they get very, very upset at wealthy people for having products or still working. They get mad. How much wealth can you have? My goodness, you're just being greedy at that point if you think that just because somebody gets wealthier, they're greedy, you will not get wealthy because you're going to think you're greedy and you're not going to make yourself do that. So your identity is not going to be aligned with wealth. So let's make sure that that's, that's not something we struggle with. Let's, let's break that, okay? But no, it is not about the ultra wealthy, and it is not about dodging taxes. A trust is about control, privacy, protection, and a smooth transfer to the people you love. Yes, certain trusts have tax advantages. But if you reduce a trust to a tax trick, you're gonna miss the entire point. The deepest reason to build one is so that the day you are gone, your family steps into a structure that carries them instead of a courtroom that drains them. So make sure you understand that. And I could tell you, just based off of my time with multi, multi hundreds of millions of dollars. I'm in partnership with billionaires, okay? Some of my real estate, I partner with them, and I've been coached by them. They are the most generous people in the world. That's why they don't want to pay taxes. They'd rather give. They'd rather give back. I'm not, I'm not saying there's no bad people in the world, but the majority of them rather reinvest back into their own businesses to hire and to provide jobs, and they'd rather give to charity, and they just want things on their terms. Why? Because this my money. Okay, fifth myth is that— and this is the most dangerous one at all. Again, I will deal with it later. I want you to remember the names that I just gave you: Prince at 57, Chadwick, um, Boseman at 43, Aretha Franklin Okay, later is not promised to anybody, y'all. Later is the most expensive word in this entire subject. The whole reason this works is that you build the structure while you have the time, the clarity, and the calm to do it right, long before you ever need it. And this is important because even— I know most of you all are invested. You're invested in— maybe it's the stock market or cryptocurrency or real estate or whatever, silver and gold and precious medals and arts. And you know, you don't— you want to do this stuff when you have the, the calm time to do it. You, you don't want to be on the back tailwind of some kind of economic impact. And you guys know we are entering into some very uncertain times. You guys see the environment that we're in. The trust is leaving the economy. We see it. We see it in the treasury bonds. We watch the bond market. You watch the bond market. To know where things are headed. And let me give you two more because these are also the gaps that catch even the people who think they did their homework off guard. Here is one that almost everybody gets wrong, and that is, I named beneficiaries on my account, so I'm fine. Let me just say this, naming a beneficiary on a retirement account or a life insurance policy, it's good, and it does let that specific account pass directly without probate. But that only covers the accounts, um, the accounts that were, uh, that you actually named someone, and only as long as the names are current as well. So you have to do an audit. It does nothing for your home, your business, your real estate, or anything that's titled in your own name. It does nothing for that. I just need you to know that. And I've seen the heartbreaking version of this where someone got divorced, remarried, built a whole new life, and never updated a beneficiary for— from like 15 years ago. So guess what? The money went to an ex instead of the family that they love. How about that? I know for certain this has happened. The ex came and claimed it. They didn't update it. Beneficiary Designations are one small piece. They're not the plan and they are not the protection. So do understand that. And here's also a huge gap that most people don't often talk about because everybody assumes that this is only about death. It's not. It is also about incapacity, okay? What happens if you're still alive but you cannot make decisions for a while, or an accident, or illness, or a stroke? Who manages your business? Who pays your bills? Who can access your accounts to keep your family afloat? Without the right documents, a power of attorney, the right authority built into your structure, your family may have to go to court to get permission to manage your own affairs while you are lying in a hospital bed. Protection is not only about, uh, the day that you pass. It is about every day in between, including the ones that you never planned for. A real structure protects you living and not just gone. So, and I, and I just want you to know, I have— I've seen this happen in my own family. Let me just say that. I won't go into it. Now, let me— let— hear me very clearly with this. I want to say one thing because I'm an educator. I'm not your attorney, and I will always tell you the truth. Everything I'm teaching you today is education, the what and the why, so that you understand the landscape and you can make informed decisions. Uh, when it comes time to actually build this thing, you do that with— remember, you, you're going to go to a qualified estate attorney who knows the laws of your state, okay? Because this has to be done correctly, um, to work at all. It does. My job is to make sure that you walk in understanding, okay? Of what you're doing and why, instead of just signing off on papers that you don't understand and you hoping for the best. And again, in my Inner Circle, I'm going to make sure you understand this stuff in ways that even your estate planner probably will not help you to understand. They're working, okay? They're doing their job, they're doing their tacticals, but that doesn't mean that they're there to teach you this stuff. You, you have to learn on your own, okay? Lawyers are not going to take time to educate you a lot of the times. Now if you got a really good one, they will, but you got to pay for it. And, um, and I'll even tell you the things to ask them, the things to look for. You won't have to worry about that. You'll feel real confident. And the more, the more you're confident, the more you know if they right or if they're doing right or wrong by you, okay? It's just like the way I built my business, um, unfortunately I've had some, um, some unfortunate situations that, that's happened years ago. That I just had to fire everybody. Guess what? When you fire everybody, you don't have nobody to do it but you. So I know how to do everything in my business. I mean, I can do— I can build funnels, copywriting, I can use Zapier and tech and techie stuff, I can build my own website. I, you know what I mean, I can do it from beginning to end, the closing, everything. Anything you get, anything techie, I know how to do. I know how to work all the software devices. I know how to edit. I know how to do everything. Not that I should, that's bottleneck in your business. But because I understand how to do things so well, because I've done it all myself, I'm just that person. I know if you doing a good job or not immediately. And that's a problem too, because that, you know, I'm gonna be hard on people probably. But I know if you're doing a good job because I've done what you're doing, okay? The better educated you are on this, the better you'll be able to scrutinize and know if they overcharging you, if they doing what they supposed to do, all of that, okay? So let me tell you this also, uh, let me tell you the other side because I don't want— I don't want to leave you with just, uh, with the wreckage, okay? I want you to see what it looks like when it's done right, okay? So let me just say that. Thank you so much, Valerie, I appreciate you. Picture a different family, same kind of wealth, same kind of life's work, but this person at some point decided to face the discomfort. They built the structure, the right trust, funded properly, the assets were actually moved inside of it, the LLC holding the property, the trust holding the LLC, each layer doing its job, beneficiaries are named, instructions are clear. And then one day that person passes too, because that part comes for all of us. And it's okay to talk about death. I know some families don't want to talk about it, but you have to. But watch what happens to this family. There's no courtroom. There's no year-long freeze on the accounts. There's no public record for strangers to come running through, hey, cuz, remember me, y'all? Because a properly structured estate passes privately outside of probate. Nobody even knows what's going on. The family is not handed a fight in the midst of grieving. They are handed of foundation. The transfer is smooth, the assets are intact, the protection holds, and the people who were loved are cared for exactly the way that person intended, without the world watching and without the wealth getting stripped on the way down. And you watching it in real time. And here's something that I want you to notice. You have heard the horror stories that I've told you, okay? You almost never hear about the families who do it right, and there is a reason for that, because privacy is a reward when it is structured well. There is no public drama to report to the news and on social media. There's no courtroom saga, nothing for the headlines. The silence is the success. So the absence of a story is, in, in this one case, the best outcome there is. And that is exactly available to you. Not just avoiding disaster, but building something that carries your family fully and intact on a day that you will not be there to manage it yourself. So let me just bring this all home for you, because now you understand something that most people who have built real wealth never even take time to understand. You understand 3 threats probate, lawsuits and creditors, taxes and transfer. You understand that a will is not a shield. You understand the difference between a revocable trust and an irrevocable trust— control versus protection. You understand that an LLC and a trust do different jobs, and the strongest families layer them together. And you understand the detail that wrecks most plans, that a structure only protects what you actually place inside of it. That's a lot. I'mma tell you something, I promise you that is more clarity than most people ever get on this subject in their entire lives, and you got it today. You at least know that framework. And now I have to be honest with you about where the line is, because I respect you way too much to pretend otherwise. What I can give you in a training like this is the map, the what and the why. What I cannot do from here is tell you which structure is right for your specific situation, for the assets that you actually hold, for the state that you live in, for your family, and for the season that you are in. I cannot tell you what to build first and what to build second, what order protects you fastest. And how to make sure every piece is funded and connected the right way. That's not a teaching. That's the work. And that work has to be very personal because your life is not a template. It's just not. That is exactly the work that I do with the people that I walk alongside privately. So we take everything that you learned today and we make it real and specific to your life in the right order. Built correctly so that what you spent years building is finally protected the way it deserves to be. And I'm even putting the horse before the buggy because we're also going to help you to build. If you feel like you're at a place where you need to build, we, we got you, we got you, okay? So there is going to now be a framework built for you. You have to know how money moves based on the phase that you're in. I love studying behavior patterns. Money has behavior patterns. The behavior of the economy— behavior patterns. Behavior patterns with decisions and habits and things that you will do and not do. Behavior patterns based off of trauma. Um, most of the decisions that we make are created all the way back from our childhood. The environment that we grew up in. There's a lot of things that compete for your attention, your decisions, your disciplines. There's a lot that's competing that you have to overcome and override. It takes an identity shift. We go through it all. So I hope you guys got a ton of value out from this live. And listen, I enjoyed it, and I hope you guys did too. I see you in the chats. I looked at a lot of your comments. Let me know if you enjoyed it. I see yes, I see yes. Uh, I said, okay, let me read this. Dr. K, my mom and uncle both had wills. My sister was back and forth in probate court for 2 years. Do y'all hear this? My uncle left my brother a house and a relative got a lawyer to try to get the home. My sister was handling both estates at the same time. Years later, she told me she never had time to grieve. When I— thank you for sharing this. My heart goes out to that situation because it is hard to grieve at the same time and have to wrestle with all of this. I, I'm just so appreciative that you shared this, and I want you guys to see that what I'm saying is not a joke. This happens all the time. It is time to get busy, and let me tell you, I'm, I, I'm an exciting person, so I'm gonna make sure you excited along the way. Because what I learned about journeys is that you do it best when you have a better experience, okay? When you have a better experience. I tell my daughter when she was studying for her finals, because she just graduated, I said, you know, when you study and when you do things, you got to enjoy it. Why? Because enjoyment brings energy, and energy allows you to do things efficiently, and efficiency requires less like energy for more output and more productivity. The more efficient a car means that it can, it can do things without a lot of ramping up, okay? And that's what we're here for. So it's all about the environment, the community, the journey of it all. And let me tell you, I already know because I understand human behavior. I understand that people got to be entertained, and so I'm always here to entertain you. Because I understand behavior patterns. So I'm telling you, some of this stuff could seem boring, but I'm telling you, you— it's gonna feel exciting to you because that is what the journey is about. You want to have a good time doing this. You don't want to be a drag like you sit up in some science lab somewhere. You remember that science teacher like, this is the solar system? No, we don't do that. We don't do that around here. Around here we talk wealth and we do it with excitement because this is an exciting time. So I hope— thank you guys so much. I see all the love and the appreciation. And, um, and we're not going to respond to life. We are going to continue to create because we have the, the capability to create our world. Most people are reacting. If you're reacting, you're not creating. And we are made in the image of the Creator. So yes, there is a power to create. Now, whether you work with me or not, okay, I do not want you to walk away from what you felt today, okay? Do not let your brain file this information under later, we get to it later, okay? The structure is what turns the wealth you built into the legacy that you intended. And the best time to build is always before you think you need it. Okay, I see the roses. Thank you so much. You have built something. Now I want you all to go and protect it. And y'all know how I end this. As always, I want you to stay wise and I want you to stay wealthy. Y'all have a beautiful day. I'll see you later. Bye-bye.
