They got another guy there. He on FaceTime, talking and everything, showing everybody. That's my baby, you know what I'm saying? I was like, cool. I said, congratulations, you know? Not knowing, not knowing at the same time. So I leave 'cause I'm waiting and see, I'm waiting. I go back to her room.
'Cause you waiting for your baby to pop up.
Yeah, I'm waiting to see when the baby come up, you know? So I go back to her room, the mama come back, we go walk back to the baby and everything. The mama say, that's Shanette baby right there. I like, no, that's that man baby, you know? We was just talking and everything and then, And that's his baby. I said, "You know we brought the baby out here." She's like, "No, I'm telling you, that's the baby right there." And at the same time, Shanette come rolling out. So, you know, I go to the room and everything. They told me step out, they talking to her and everything, getting her ready. So I get to go into the room. So I'm asking her, "Hey, what's going on? They got another man?" She like, "Not right now, I can't." So I'm like, no.
No, no, right now.
Like right now.
I need answers.
I need answers. I need to know, you know?
This the time for us to talk about that.
So, you know, I kept asking, I kept asking, her blood pressure go up, so they kicked me out.
Yeah. Did you see the guy again?
I seen him one other time.

And that was when they was at the store together and everything, so.
So did Shaunette ever tell you there's a chance that somebody else could be the father?
No, she was just consistent. It was mine.

So what happened when you finally spoke to Shanette about this and her blood pressure was down?
It was an argument. She kept saying, I'm like, okay, you saying this mine, but I don't know. I don't know.

Our relationship was good. We wasn't together, we was never in a relationship.

Okay, okay. And was Shanette with the other guy during that time from your knowledge?
I don't know the relationship status or what.

I got a brother that's incarcerated. He calls me and he said, "Well, they got this guy in here that says she's pregnant for him." And I'm like, "Oh yeah?" She's like, "Oh, he lying, he lying," and everything. So I said, "I need to know, you know what I'm saying?
What's going on?" That's not normally a lie that guys like to make. That's like, you don't really hear about guys lying to claim another child.

Right? You don't really hear that lie. The lie's normally, "That's not my child. I don't know nothing about her. I don't know who she is. I ain't never been there." The lie's normally not like, "Oh hey, that's my baby out there and me and her was messing around." Okay. Have you been involved with, in Carter's life since the child was born?
I have, but not as much.

Yeah, heavily. Every day. I'm a great father.

Oh, first I didn't know he was coming 'cause he said he had to work, he couldn't be there. So I needed someone there for support because I had a C-section. And my mom didn't wanna go in the room 'cause she's squeamish. So she didn't wanna go in the room. So my friend came to support. If I was craving anything to eat, something Damien didn't do, I could call Damien and say, Damien, bring me such and such to eat. Every excuse in the book.

He wasn't there at all.

Even, he wasn't there even before he found out about the other guy. He wasn't there, so.
Got it. So why are you sure that Damien is Carter's father then?

At the time that Carter was conceived, I was having unprotected sex with Shawnette. Throughout the whole pregnancy, Shawnette told me I was this baby's father.
