Someone describes drinking to avoid withdrawal sickness, then continuing to party. Karamo's guest shares a similar addiction cycle: intending to quit, feeling sick, craving more, using again. Both recognize the pattern despite knowing it's harmful.
I drank so long, so it's like if I don't drink, I feel sick. I'll wake up and I'll be sick if I don't drink. So I basically take a drink so I don't get sick. And then after that it's like, okay, well I drank already, let's party.
I understand that. So one of the things when we're having withdrawals, I used to do drugs, I used to be an addict, is that when I would want more drugs, I would say I'm gonna stop, but then I would start to feel sick. I would start to feel like, oh, I need one more of this, I need one more of that. And then I would say to myself, Okay, let me just do it to feel better. And now I'm on that pattern again. And that is what most addicts feel. That's all I'm trying to let you know. But it can't feel good knowing that to feel better, you have to drink something.
I mean, it doesn't feel good, but I mean, after, like once I'm drunk, I'm having fun either way. Can I just tell you something, Karamo?
I just wanna say thank you because I acknowledge when people make small steps and big steps. For you to acknowledge and say it doesn't feel good was something big.
