I'm now 36 years old and so many years have gone away. I've always yearned to know you as a child. I wanted a safety net, a protector. I wanted you to teach me from a man's perspective about life. I've always wanted a hug or just a kiss goodnight at bedtime. I know it's been a while since we spoke, but I wanna understand. I wanna understand you and I want you to be open with me and share your feelings, vice versa. I wanna listen to your perspective on where it all went wrong. I feel as though as I'm the monkey in the middle chasing after you to gain closure on if I'm yours or not. But whatever the results are, just know regardless, I'll always love you.
