Did My Girlfriend Get Pregnant With Another Man's Baby? | KARAMO

In this episode of KARAMO, host Karamo mediates a heated discussion between Mike and his partner (Speaker C) about their tumultuous relationship that began on a dating app. Mike admits to past casual encounters and a lack of clear exclusivity, while his partner claims they agreed early on to have children together. Their relationship is strained by trust issues, especially during an extravagant trip to Rome, Monte Carlo, and Spain, where arguments, accusations of secret accounts, and a dramatic incident of the partner jumping out of a taxi occur. After the trip, the partner announces a pregnancy, leading to doubts about paternity. Both refuse to unlock their phones, but a DNA test is performed, confirming that Mike is the biological father. The revelation triggers mixed emotions—Mike feels blessed, while the partner feels vindicated. Karamo explores their views on monogamy, commitment, and co‑parenting, concluding that while they may be ready for co‑parenting and commitment, they are not prepared for monogamy. He advises them to have transparent, hard conversations to avoid future toxicity and wishes them success as co‑parents.

So I gotta ask you real quick, do you often just meet women online and take 'em on exotic trips? 'Cause I got a couple of homegirls, by the way, just, you know, wouldn't mind a trip.
No, no, no, no, no.
Okay, okay.
You know, it's, we met online and I was looking for love, right? Just like, you know, every, everybody wants love, right? It's hard in New York City to date and find, you know, loyal women that are, willing to be exclusive.
Got it, got it, got it.
It felt like she was like, you know, perfect, right? Yeah. So I asked her to come on this trip with me. It's like a once in a lifetime type trip. You know, you hit up 3 different countries in a very short time.
Yeah.
You know, all inclusive.
I have to challenge something though. You had said that it's hard to find loyal women, but you also admitted to having 250 women. So how loyal does that make you?
Well, in college.
Okay, okay.
Partied a lot and—
Okay.
I had a lot of encounters, if you will.
Okay, okay. So you started having trust issues in the very beginning?
Yeah.
Why?
Because New York City's a unique place. It's a lot of partying, a lot of clubs, dinners, online apps. Everybody's dating everybody and it's hard, it's difficult. So I assumed that she was dating multiple people at the time when I met her. I met her and I was talking to other women. So, you know, I wasn't really dating per se. I wasn't really kind of sleeping with other women at the time, but I was communicating with other women.
So did you have some type of agreement saying that like, hey, we can both talk to other people or was it we're gonna be exclusive?
Well, that's the thing. It's my fault, right? So I kind of played the part where I was like, you know, let's be exclusive, trying to get her response, trying to see how she thinks and how she kind of acts and kind of how she takes that. 'Cause if I ask her to be exclusive, like, you know, I wanna be with you only, and she comes back saying, you know, let's kind of date, let's see where it goes, then I'm gonna understand she's not that type of woman, right? But she was saying, yeah, let's be exclusive. So I kind of started to trust her a little bit more, and then certain things happened that kind of—
No judgment, honestly, but as this show is all about growth, You do understand by starting a foundation of playing games when trying to establish a relationship does cause there to be these issues now that have turned into trust issues for you.
Well, yeah.
Okay, okay. So what happened on the trip when you two were together?
Well, it started, it was a disaster from the get-go.
Okay.
So just going to the trip, getting on the plane, we got into a huge argument. It was really like one of our first arguments that I remember, we're talking about our accounts online for dating. I told her that I was off, she said that she was on, but then on getting on the plane, she, you know, I told her that I had a secret account.
Oh wow.
'Cause I was spying on her.
Oh wow.
'Cause I wasn't sure if she was like really interacting.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And I would notice, that she was online a lot of times.
Did she ever interact with your secret account?
No.
Okay then. But you would just see that she was online?
Yeah, I would see that she was online. I would see that she was active and she would fly out to other countries. She went to different countries and not pay for the flights, right? So I was assuming that she was out there not on business.
Yes. Okay. Right. I think I understand why you were hesitant of saying the name. Is this sort of like a sugar baby, sugar daddy type of deal? 'Cause you're getting me to the conclusion, you're getting me to the conclusion that she's flown out on other ones, she's on the site. Listen, we don't judge here at this show, okay?
I wouldn't say that specifically.
But the thing is that it did make you question why are you still on this app and why are you still engaging with other people when we have now said we're going to be exclusive.
Where we're exclusive. Yeah, we're trying to be exclusive.
Okay then. And she left you during this trip, my producers told me earlier?
Yeah, so we flew into Monte Carlo and this hotel was like $1,500 a night. Beautiful hotel, right next to the casino. We literally touch down, get to the hotel and she's upset. I was speaking to someone, I guess in the lobby, and she didn't like the way I was speaking to that person. And she got upset, she broke my sunglasses, she threw wine glasses on the floor in the lobby. And it's, in this type of place, like that type of, you know, for that to happen, it was, I was embarrassed.
My producers also told me, which I couldn't believe this, that she jumped out of a moving taxi.
See, it wasn't moving. It wasn't moving, but it just literally like stopped.
Yeah.
And she was upset with me and she jumped out and just disappeared.
Did she fly back home at that time?
This was, no, we were in Rome now.
Yeah, okay.
This is Rome and I couldn't find her. She was upset and she was gone for a couple hours. And then she shows up in the hotel and I'm like, what's going on? And she's like, you know, I'm flying out. We broke up that night. We kind of decided to kind of go in our own direction. We got back together and then she told me that she was pregnant on my birthday.
Oh wow. Wow.
So she ended up moving in because I wanted to take care of my son.
I tried so hard for this man. The problem with what he was doing was that I felt very played because he was always making me, I guess, jumping through hoops and then coming back and being like, "No, no, no, it's okay, stay." You told my producer Zoe that when you first met him that you had an agreement.
What was that agreement?
So when we first met, we both agreed that we both wanted kids. That was one of the first conversations we had. 'Cause I mean, I guess maybe he doesn't know this about me, but I was taught like when you are going on your first date, you talk about the things you want. You talk about marriage, you talk about kids, you talk just to, if they're not, if that's not it, don't invest your time. So he said he wanted to do, he wanted to have kids and I wanted to have kids and you know, we ended up having a kid.
[Speaker] Yeah, yeah, yeah. But what happened on this trip? Because the whole thing that's causing the trust issues beyond what was going on is that you disappeared. You know, you jumped out of a taxi cab or a moving cab He says that before you started the trip, he knew that you were still online. I'm gonna ask you first, is there truth to that? Were you still online talking to other people?
So only reason why I was even green dot was because I was checking on him.
Oh, so you were checking on him as well?
I wasn't even talking to anybody. And on top of that, he told me that he had a secret account at the gate at the airport. And not only that, He had messages in his inbox from other women.
Oh.
I didn't have that. I showed him all my inboxes. I showed him all my emails.
No, no, no, no, no. It wasn't me. That's not even fair.
But it wasn't me on them. It wasn't my picture on them.
He did put a different picture, but he still had other messages in his inboxes interested in him.
Why still go on the trip?
Like, listen. I'm sorry.
I mean, don't get me wrong. It sounded like a cute trip. It sounded like Rome, Monte Carlo, Spain.
Yeah, like let me question my morals for this.
Okay, okay, I'm not gonna lie to you, I don't even know why I asked that question 'cause I'd have got on the plane too.
Yeah, like I'm trying to have fun, hot girl summer.
I'm not gonna pretend.
It was a good trip. Even though we had like these things that happened, it was still a great trip.
I mean, there's a reason why I'm taking a selfie and us together smiling, like 'cause we did, we had good times.
So there were some good times on the trip. So what else happened? What caused the bad things for you to actually get out that car and leave?
So what he's not mentioning is that we were on a group trip group trip and there was a girl on the group trip who had a man and she was talking to him alone, not even talking to her own boyfriend, rubbing his leg, rubbing his arm. And basically—
Listen, I didn't even notice it. I didn't even notice it, but—
We could see his face.
I guess she, I guess—
Let me tell you something. When Mike is about to say something that he knows is wrong, he does this. I mean— This is your body language right here. I mean— Uh-huh.
I didn't notice though. I didn't notice. She noticed that for sure.
I literally was like, I'm not dealing with this. And I just went like that to let him know that I was serious. Yes, it's embarrassing. I'm embarrassed about it.
How old is your child now again?
9 months old.
9 months old. And did you sign the birth certificate?
No, I didn't.
Why not?
She told me not to.
Oh wow.
I said, if you wanna be his dad and you are, you're gonna be there for us, then you need to step up. We're on rocky roads right now and I don't want you signing this birth certificate I'm not gonna sign the birth certificate unless, you know, unless A, we're married, B, that you're actually gonna step up.
But Mike, I can understand now why there would be doubts. If I'm showing up and I'm in the delivery room, I'm supporting you, and all of a sudden I try to sign the birth certificate and I hear a no, I could see a bit of where doubt creeps in.
No, there's been doubt.
Even before then, yeah.
It's just, you know, I've always had it in the back of my mind that something is missing. Something happened on that trip. Like, I really feel like something happened on that trip.
Did anything happen on that trip?
No, no, nothing happened on the trip.
Before we get to this DNA outcome, 'cause we're about to get to the truth of this matter, is there anything that you wanna say to him?
You know, I hope that once everything comes out that you can trust me more, you know?
Mike, can I ask you a question? And I'm gonna be serious because on this show, I've talked about this many times. Do you want a monogamous relationship?
Yes.
You do?
Yes.
Okay, okay. Because I think sometimes in relationships, and I'm not saying this is the case, but sometimes they're afraid to have conversations about like, what are gonna be the bounds of our relationships? And what I've been doing here is I've been taking notes, is tracking patterns. And from the timeline when it is, I understand that you want trust and you want commitment, but commitment doesn't equal monogamy. Those are two different things. I can be committed to you and wanna call you every day and be next to you every day, but it doesn't mean that I wanna go not sleep with someone else.
Sometimes when I'm trying to tell her something specifically and give her my thoughts, my thoughts, my emotions, my feelings don't matter. It's just her and her emotions and her feelings, her boundaries are the only thing that matters.
No, I just wanna step in though. The thing is is that I've always told him that if we could co-parent, I'm totally fine with that. I've always opened the conversation to co-parenting. Doesn't want to ever have that conversation. It's no, no, no, I want to stay together, I want to stay together, which I'm happy with. But when actions don't start matching up with words, like for an example, like he invited someone else on the trip as a joke. He says it as a joke, but if you're gonna invite someone else on the trip, that kind of gives me a little like insecurity because like, is your— is everything genuine? Yeah, at this point.
So if he was to say to you that I wanna co-parent, but also I wanna be in a relationship with you, but I don't want monogamy, would you be okay with that?
I would rather just co-parent.
Got it, okay.
My feelings are gonna get hurt.
Well, I think it's time to get to the DNA truth, so at least you know if this is your son or not. Here you go.
Okay.
Let me see.
Mike is Avery's biological father.
Thank you. I don't know. How do you feel knowing this is your biological child?
I feel blessed.
Yeah. Good, good, good. How do you feel? You feel vindicated?
Well, I do feel vindicated because there was a lot of questions. Like, you don't even know the questions I had to deal with. So I got, okay, so another thing too is he's saying I got paid to go to different countries I am an event hairstylist. The fact that my hard work is being misconstrued for nonsense.
Got it, got it, got it. Karamo. Yeah.
Like he got a winner right here. Like he got a winner. I'm just saying. I worked hard for everything that I have.
Yeah.
It's hard for me. I've been burned so many times within relationships with women saying they're doing one thing. That has nothing to do with me though.
That has nothing to do with me.
I mean, I wanna mention this 'cause it's obvious to all of us The trust issues are deep in this relationship and y'all have been together now for what, I'm assuming 2 years?
Yeah.
Almost 2 years because of the timeline with the baby. All right, the thing is that I know that on this show we unlock phones because that gives us clarity of like who you've been talking to, who you've been talking to. And you both refused to unlock your phones.
Yeah.
Okay, and the reason we do that is not to go and tell your business, but we ask you specific questions that you're looking for that would give you the clarity. As if she's talking to other guys. And so at the end of the day, what I realized is this, is that even though the DNA mystery has been solved, the real problems in this relationship have not been solved yet. And so that's why I was trying to give y'all a little bit of encouragement to start real conversations, real dialogue, because at the end of the day, y'all gotta go back to day one. The foundation was screwed from day one. The fact that you had your trust issues that you brought to the relationship, the way that you met on this site, you've been manipulating, gaslighting, and hurting each other from day one. And it continued through the pregnancy and it's continuing even until this stage where there's not answers. And so if you do decide to be together, be aware that unless you have some real, real hard conversations, this will continue and it's gonna get unhealthier. It's gonna get unhealthier.
Yeah, I know.
And if I could give you, I'm pretty good at, I have really good discernment. If I can give you a real, my real thoughts. I think that you two will be great co-parents. I don't think you're ready for monogamy. I think that you're ready for commitment. I don't think you're ready for monogamy. And I don't think that you're ready for the relationship that he actually wants to be in. What I do see here is a man that's gonna love his child and I do see a mother that's already been doing the work. So great. And both of you have been doing the work. So I wish you both the best of luck raising your kid, co-parenting. And I just hope that you have really transparent, hard conversations. Wish you both the best of luck, all right? Thank you.
Yeah.
