Hey, Trey, 20 years from now. He don't got his diamond necklace on right now, but y'all know my best friend Trey. But normally Trey will walk out with a diamond necklace. It's going to be you in 20 years. Your father has 16 other children. Tell me about that.
He's always been around in our life.
16 kids? What in the Nick Cannon?
We are— we're not like this, but she was trying to—
she was literally trying to make her father look a little bit better because there's no way that a person can have 16 children and be in all of their lives. It's just not possible. Someone's going to not get enough attention. But I get it. She's like, well, we're not like this. Had you ever heard about Sarom before?
I never heard about Sarom before. Not once.
I felt so bad for Sarom. You ever done that with you or any of your other siblings? Just to be out here not even knowing the results, not even knowing the results. I just felt bad for Sarom to be like Damn, I am searching for these people and like someone doubts me. Can you imagine? You're searching just for someone to love you and all of a sudden you still end up meeting people that are like, nope, you're not it. So how did you first find out that you may have another brother?
Well, one of my sisters had made a Facebook group chat and she had tagged all my dad's kids that's on social media right now. And she had put us in there. She's like, we have a new sibling that reached out. And it's a possibility he might be our brother.
Sometimes I think about why women lie when it comes to paternity. And of course there's sometimes embarrassment, there's sometimes, you know, they might not know for real. But I think there is a stigma that we have in our country and just this world that if a woman has multiple partners, obviously we're gonna label her, oh, fuck, she's this, she's that. And thus, To avoid that, you then start to create a new narrative so that people don't think that. And when you create that narrative, it ends up hurting other people. So I think the fault is not just on the woman who could be lying, but it's also about us as a society of like, why do we put women in these situations to feel this? As if they can't just be honest about how sexual they are. Just my thoughts.
Me and my sister had messaged each other separately in our own little personal message. She was like mentioning about the DNA. And we had brought it to his attention in the group. And then that's when from there it like went up. So Rome was just coming like, he was just like very aggressive and being weird a little bit.
What do you mean by aggressive and weird?
He was just like telling us how he loves us and how he knows we his brothers and sisters. He knows my dad is his dad.
And at this point when he's saying I love you and making this declaration, had y'all met yet?
No, we never met.
You've never met him at all?
I've never met Jerome at all.
Oh wow. So you've never met him, but he was saying I love you all, I'm with you all.
Yeah, and he was telling all of us like, I love you sis, I love you bro. And it was like, whoa.
Them expectations are way too high. Let me tell y'all something, you can't come in nobody life and be like, we gotta be best friends. You know what I mean? It takes time to grow relationships. How long have you been searching for this, for your family? Well, for my— Or for this family?
Well, for my dad. It was only my dad at first. I didn't know about no other siblings. Yeah. So all my life.
All your life?
All my life.
Makes sense.
Really.
Y'all remember the group Kid 'n Play back from the '90s? So Rome looked like a cuter version of Kid. Y'all see it? Y'all see it? That's right, that's right. Like a cuter version of him.
And when I seen that picture, I'm knowing, I'm already knowing.
Yeah.
Now my mom's telling me, that's your dad right there.
Mom.
So there was another guy that I thought was my dad at first. Never had a relationship with him though. His name was Mike too. But on my birth certificate, which I've always had, Mike was on there. I'm not putting two and two together. I'm not really knowing what, you know what I'm saying, at the time and stuff. Then when I was about 15, my mom told me that this Mike isn't my dad. Other Mike is my dad, but she ain't helping me try to find him.
I mean, that's what bothers me. If like you're going to give your child and dump all of this on them, that this is not your father, this is not this, you have to be able to like give them some information. Just don't drop that and then like let them out there in the world. Look at Trey 20 years from now. Hey Trey, 20 years from now. How you doing, sir? Ah, I'll tell y'all the minute this man walked out. Come here, Trey. Come here, Trey. All right, listen, he don't got his diamond necklace on right now, but y'all know my best friend Trey. But normally Trey will walk out with a diamond necklace. This gonna be you in 20 years. I'm way better. That's gonna be you. That's gonna be you in 20 years. So what was your reaction when Serrone first reached out to you?
I don't know. My first reaction was, who was the mom? Because I mean, 37 years, man, that was a long time.
And for 37 years ago, he had a very good memory. It's funny, when he walked out, your reaction was pretty excited and you were pretty like mellow in your reaction. What was that reaction? Is it because you're still unsure?
That's what's messed up. I mean, you calling me dad, hell, I couldn't even pronounce your first name.
Ooh. Ooh.
That's where we going.
It's those little things that sting.
I didn't even know your mom was pregnant.
Do you remember his mother?
Yeah.
Okay, so you remember her.
Yeah.
Okay.
I didn't even know she was pregnant. She had something happen. She left. And when she came back, she had had him. But she was telling me that, well, yeah, like you said, she was gonna name you Michael Cerrone, whatever. And my kid's mom at the time told her if she did, she was gonna beat her ass. And she had got a hold to her before that.
So everyone watching this clip can automatically think that this father has no empathy. But it's ironic that it's like his honesty is brutal and he's actually not delivering it too hard. He's just trying to give the facts. But I think that in this moment, Sarom has so many emotions that it's coming out a little bit harder. Now I won't lie, you know, him coming out like, I couldn't pronounce your name. You did know how to pronounce this 'cause 5 minutes ago you pronounced it properly. That's shady. But now he is just trying to give him facts of like, it sounds at first when you came out here, like you said you didn't know her, you didn't remember her, it was 37 years ago. But now you're giving me details of, your child's mother at the time got called. She got called. Oh, because you're saying— because now if, if you have a kid, if you have a child and this other woman is calling your child's mother and saying, look, I got another child here, threatening to say don't name her Michael Jr., which now makes sense of where that came from. Yeah, you see the conflict in the story, right? Right.
I can understand how you Okay, but it is like when I was with her and what I said, what I meant was is that when he first came out, I didn't know who it was.
Got it.
Okay, I didn't know who.
Y'all think they look alike? Y'all think they look alike? They got the same eyes? 'Cause don't let the skin tone fool you. You remember having sex with his mother?
Oh yeah.
Okay. And the reason I asked that so bluntly is because like, We're questioning the paternity here, and if you remember having sex with the mother and then adding up with those other details, there could be a possibility.
You were with her for 2 years though. You were with her for 2 years.
I was around your mom for 2 years.
I'm not saying I know how that goes, but you were with her for, it's not about that. I know how that goes. I got 3 baby mamas. I know how that goes.
Not 3.
But you were with her for 2 years though.
Your mom was with me.
No matter whether it's 5 other women on top of that.
Well, I never even heard of your mom, to be honest. And I pretty much know.
Your baby sister though.
I'm not baby though. I'm not baby baby. I'm more towards the middle.
Your baby sister's in the middle.
And I never, I heard of all my dad's baby moms. I know pretty much all their names.
What would that feel like to be in the middle of 16 kids? I'd get away with everything.
I was with a friend, we was riding around. I had been drinking a little bit, ran into her and another friend.
Let me tell y'all something, this man right here was a player back in the day, okay? The way he giving this story, that we was riding around, you know. And back then, you know, like, we was kicking a little bit and then we was gonna switch partners, you know.
Ran into her and another friend. Now the plan was is that we was going to the motel or to the crib or whatever and we was gonna kick it and then we supposed to switch partners. So, I mean, well, I mean, I'm in my 20s, man, and I apologize, man, but that's how the shit was.
Pops, come on. We're not doing that. We're not gonna do that, Pops.
I get it, I understand. I appreciate that laugh. I understand your discomfort because this is your mother, but I think also what you're trying to share with us, that you're trying to give context of that we were young and we were—
It's cool, but we understand they were together for 2 years. There was multiple women. We ain't gotta do all that though. There's a lot of stuff that went down, you know what I'm saying?
He looking at the audience like, don't be saying that's right.
You know what I'm saying?
Escape.
Basically.
That's what your mom told you?
Escape from what?
And I ain't saying I know what's truth is truth, but I know how things kind of go and stuff. You know what I'm saying? Like he had multiple, come on, think about it and stuff. Yeah, I had multiple. She went on about her business. She moved on. You know what I'm saying? She thought she was protecting me and doing me a favor by, you know what I'm saying?
Wait, wait.
He just stay giggling.
You know what I'm saying? She got you all confused. She got you all confused.
I really didn't choose a side up until today. You let me know what it is today.
Okay.
Before then, couldn't nobody say nothing bad about my dad. I didn't care what you did. Not being there, being there, I didn't care. You're my dad, you feel me?
Well, see, that really don't matter to me because I'm not your dad.
Okay.
You know what I'm saying?
Now there, now there it went from not, not, before it felt like, did he have empathy? It's not that he didn't have empathy, he was trying to be factual. But now here, this is a man that's aggravated. He's like, you trying to attack me and my character when it was your mother this entire time.
I've been trying to hold back and talk to you. Try to have some kind of empathy, man, but you're not my kid.
If I had my phone, I could show messages where he was saying different things though, so.
Exactly, exactly, because I do have a heart.
Hold on, I just heard a ping, so let's see what that is.
I am 100% certain that Michael is Jerome's father.
Mama, don't come on here talking about 100% certain if you ain't really 100% certain.
I am sick of this.
It's time for Michael to step up and say, "I'm your mom, like a son once was." That look, that look, that look.
There's no way. I don't believe it. I don't believe it. And if I'm wrong, I apologize, but I do not believe it. And I'm positive, I'm 100% it's not.
All right, well listen, we said it already. It's enough about feelings, it's about the facts. And we have the DNA outcome right here that has the truth in it. We are all about unlocking the truth on this show. And in here is the DNA outcome that will tell us will tell you after 37 years if this man is your father or not. This is yours to open, not mine. What will it be?
It's been a long time, long time coming.
Okay.
And I just wanna say regardless, you know what I'm saying? I mean, I believe that you are my father and if this test says that you are my father, I'm mad at you right now.
He has such a beautiful light inside of him. I mean, literally, he's full of love. Through anything he's been through, that man is full of love.
You are not the father.
Hmm. Devastating. I'm sorry, man.
We done.
Ooh.
Jerome, man.
Jerome's mother owes this young man more than just an apology. Jerome?
I told her don't love you on this show. Karamo, Karamo, Karamo.
So right here, the sister called our show and apparently I found out after that he had hesitation on coming on the show because of the fact that he was like, well, I don't wanna be embarrassed in case. And the sister was sort of like, well, this could also be a good way for us to celebrate. And so he was a little felt betrayed, like you brought me on here to embarrass me. Which broke my heart even more because it was like, I know that the sister wasn't doing it intentionally. I know that wasn't what her intention was, but the impact was devastating for him. You could see it. And in that moment, you see a little bit of his light go out. Like you see a little bit like, damn.
Can I talk to you?
Jerome, I wish you the best, man.
I'm sorry.
I really do. I wish you the best.
I'm sorry. You didn't waste our time.
You didn't waste our time. Poor Jerome. If you need any other help or guidance, all right, I'm gonna let you talk to him. Jerome.
Jerome, I'm so sorry.
Ooh. Your daughter called us and asked that we do this DNA test here.
I had misgivings about doing it because I knew what the results was gonna be.
Give me the results.
And he—
I mean, come on, his mother has to step up. But the problem is that he had said to me his mother is not gonna step up and she's not going to give him the answers. And so this young man is gonna be lost for the rest of his life because he's never gonna get the truthful answer from his mother. Clearly she just stepped there and said, I know for 100% facts. I feel sorry for him because as you know, as somebody who has multiple children, you've been there for your children. Your child, your daughter said that you've been a great dad for all your other kids. And it's sad because he's just searching for that love and he's searching for love.
Yeah, it really is.
His heart is broken. I really just hope that Sarom is doing well right now. I mean, Sarom, if you're watching this, if you ever need help, I'm here to help you because you just deserve, you deserve a lot more than you received on this stage. You deserve more than you received in life. Like again, the main thing I saw about Sarom was that how much love and light he had in him. And I see a lot of people and not everyone has that light in them and he has it. And it was so devastating that this moment broke him a little bit. But I know he's strong enough to build past this. If he ever needs our support again, we'll be here for him. Thank you for being here so much. He did tell me something that he said that he's remembering that time that he believes that your mother does know.
He just talking, man.
I think his mother, no.
She can never tell me another name again and I will ever believe her.
Yeah, he's sad now. Heart, baby.
Okay, I got my family at home, my kids. That's all I need.
I know the world—
I don't need the world. I know getting in my house, that's what I know.
I get that, but I don't want you to be off from the world because you had a lot of love. And I know this is hard to hear right now. I'm just giving you the one piece of advice that I can give. I really appreciate it because you have so much love and light in you, man. Amen. So much. And I'm sorry that this could be a catalyst that could break that, but I want you to try to be stronger than that break. And if you need any support, anything you need, I'm here for Seriously?
Oh, for sure.
Yeah, it's all right, man. Thank you. Yeah, good luck with everything, all right? Ooh, Trey, you better not take me on a TV show later on with some baby because you remind me of that guy. It's the outfit that makes me remind you.
Mm-hmm.
