A young woman feels controlled by her mother. Karamo shares his own story: he grew up with a toxic father, then caught himself repeating that pattern with his son. Real change happens when you stop the cycle, not by mirroring the hurt back.
I ain't never disrespecting her mom. You ain't good for my daughter. I ain't never. It's these, it's these. Ain't nobody good, 'cause she don't wanna see me happy. She don't wanna see me happy with nobody.
She want me to be under her bitch ass.
The thing that I wanna encourage you to do is continue to set these boundaries. Yeah. But within these boundaries, I need you to break the cycle, meaning, However she reacts, you can't mirror that. My advice for you is, and is my encouragement to you, is to be better than that.
Yeah.
You're young, you're 24, and you can be better than this. I had a similar relationship with my own father where it was toxic and I mimicked that behavior. And then my son came around and I had to decide to stop mirroring that behavior and start to figure out how to set my boundaries and heal so that he doesn't do the same. So the advice I'm giving you is a journey that I had to go on because otherwise you're gonna be in this cycle forever.
