I Came Back for the Truth… But My Family Came to Fight! | KARAMO

In this episode of Karamo’s talk‑show, Alexis returns seeking the truth about her biological parents after learning she may have two different fathers. She recounts being told at age 13 that her mother forced her to accept Darwin as a father, while Warren, who later died, was allegedly her biological dad. The show brings in Darwin, Alexis’s sister Carmelita, and a potential half‑brother Warren Jr. to confront the conflicting narratives. Throughout the heated exchange, Karamo attempts to de‑escalate, mediate, and guide the family toward clarity and healing. The participants trade accusations, reveal past grievances, discuss child‑support obligations, and express frustration over secrecy and manipulation. DNA test results are referenced but not explicitly disclosed; the focus shifts to emotional impact, family toxicity, and the need for boundaries. Karamo offers advice on calmness, personal responsibility, and suggests future sessions with the mother to resolve deeper wounds. The episode ends with a tentative reconciliation, acknowledgment of sibling ties, and a call for continued dialogue.

So Alexis was told she had two different fathers and came on my show asking for help. Take a look at this. You believe that Darwin was your father until you were 13?
Yeah. Well, one, he never want— the other dad, Warren, he never wanted to be my dad.
Got it.
But Darwin?
Yes.
For the last 23 years, y'all, he wanted to be my dad.
Oh, perfect. When did the relationship change though?
So when I was 13, my sister called me and my mom flipped. She was like, "She's not your sister. This is not your family. You are not allowed to talk to them." Tell me about Warren. Warren, he doesn't want to be my dad. And unfortunately he did pass away. So I didn't get to build that relationship, but I tried.
Yeah, seriously.
I really did try.
Got it. And your mother tried to force you to have a relationship with Warren is what my producers told me, right?
Yeah.
Like when he was on his deathbed, she was like, "You gotta go see him." And who's on your birth certificate? Nobody.
Nobody's on there.
Nobody, I know.
Got it, got it. It's time to meet Darwin and hear his side of the story. So everyone please welcome Alexis' potential father Darwin to the show. So what happened between you and Alexis' mom?
It was a complicated, complicated relationship. It didn't work. We had a running joke, me and her. So I seen her a few months after we broke up and she was a little swollen. And I says, so you broke up with me to get pregnant by this other guy?
Yeah.
And so that was a running joke for a few years and she like, "Yeah, yeah, ha ha." She would play it off. She would never admit that this was my daughter. She never did that.
Yeah. We've heard that there's this potential other man claiming her. What if the results come back that Alexis is not your biological daughter?
Man, I mean, I can't imagine. I can't fathom that thought. I mean, she's my daughter regardless.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Well, I think it's time to solve this mystery.
I kind of wanna open this together. So you grab this side. I'm gonna grab this side.
What it say? Show the truth, what it say?
Darwin is not your biological.
I'm not?
But it's okay because you have been my dad.
I'm your dad.
More than anybody.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
Well, listen, Alexis is back with her potential brother to find out if they are siblings. The search for the truth has caused real division in her family. And we'll hear from Alexis shortly, but first let's welcome her sister Carmelita to the show. So Carmelita, that was your first time seeing the episode Alexis appeared on, correct? And you're here because you wanna set the record straight about some things.
Of course.
What is it? What's going on?
My sister, she's, she's, She has some valid points, but she's a liar. Like, everybody knew.
Sure, bitch.
Okay.
Sure.
Anyways.
Yes.
She knew that Warren was her dad. She's known that her whole life. Darwin is who was there more recently, like more concurrent, basically.
Yeah.
But realistically, everybody knew Darwin was not her biological father. He stepped up. But he was not that dad. Everybody knows when you get a DNA test, you gotta, not a DNA test, child support. You get child support, right? You gotta get a DNA test to find out if you're the father. That's why you're able to basically be liable to pay that child support, right? How do you think that Warren was paying child support to my mom for 18 years? Everybody knew Warren is my sister's dad.
So why I have two dads then?
Because mama decided to put your dumb ass Darwin and have him take care of you because y'all dumbass wanna be accepted by everybody except by your real family.
Okay, okay, so I see there's tension.
100%.
Okay, so for the record, you and Alexis have the same mother.
Mm-hmm.
Okay then. And why were you shocked that Alexis claimed Darwin was her father?
It's not a shock, it's the way she went about it. It's nothing to go get a $5.99 DNA test. Why go on the show to get clout? To slander my mom's name.
'Cause that's what you felt like she's doing.
That's what she wants to do. She'll say it herself. She doesn't give a fuck if my mom lives or dies. So realistically, realistically, I tell Lexi, stop living in the past, live in the present, move to the future. She fails to do that. And that's why she's gonna go down a never-ending downfall of failures and losses and heartbreak.
Just like you.
Just like you.
Just like you.
Just like you.
Have you been feuding?
Dismissed.
Have you been feuding?
Dismissed.
Since this show was on?
We really, my family, we really are just really a toxic ass family. Don't get me wrong.
Indeed.
But, bitch, bitch.
Sorry.
What do you know about Warren Sr. and their relationship with their mother? With your mother?
Nothing. Warren's with Warren. Nothing. Nothing.
Nothing. Nothing, exactly.
Nothing. So why are you here? Nothing, exactly.
Why are you here? Bitch, shut up. Why are you here? Why are you here, stupid? You trying to cause still more DNA tests. You want fame? You want money? You want clout? You want DNA tests? Let me do my show, bitch. Go be a hoe. Go hoe. You go home and stop chasing your daddy. Homeless on my show. On my show. What? This your show? This is Karamo's show. Come home for your dad.
I mean, we need to understand if this DNA test will solve these family issues. Before I bring Alexis out, I need a commitment from you because this is a show right here that we don't fight. My whole training is about de-escalation and also making sure that we can figure out, because I actually do see a lot of pain and I see your point. I actually do. I understand a lot of where your pain is coming from and I also do understand where your sister's pain is coming from.
Oh, don't get me wrong, I understand hers too.
Okay.
But it's just frustrating how she going about it.
Well, I just wanna make sure there's a commitment.
I ain't gonna fight her.
Okay, great.
Not here.
There's no commitment.
And if I get to that point, I'm gonna just go ahead and walk off.
Thank you.
Before I disrespect your show.
All right, I appreciate that. I appreciate that, I do. And Alexis, I just wanna make sure I know you can hear me. Do I have a commitment But from you, you're not gonna do anything?
Yes, but after the show, I need that, bitch.
All right, after this.
All right, it is time to hear from Alexis. So everyone please welcome Alexis back to the show.
Hey, Holita, how you doing?
What's up, Lexi?
So we got time today Not right here. I mean, it don't have to be right here. But we got time today since you wanna come try to spoil my DNA test. Sit down and talk. Sit down and talk. And I'll stand up.
Okay, then stand up and talk.
Right, so what about it? What about it? So, why are you calling Mama gossiping? I never asked Mama. That's my mama. She didn't even believe you. She didn't even believe you.
What she didn't believe me about?
Whenever you moved out, she took your texts. Good, good. Do you think I care? Good. So remember who you sticking up for. Remember who you sticking up for. I grew up. No, you're not. You talk about it every couple of days.
Do I really?
I swear to God. You don't even talk to me, stupid. We talk every day.
No, we don't.
You give me money every day. I do. I do. You pay for her house every day. And you ask me to pay your phone bill and pay your car note. When? When? When? One at a time. One at a time. You ain't never had no money. Are you sure? You're giving money to all your pimps. My pimps? Your pimps. Oh, God. Move, bitch. Move.
Move.
Get out of my face then, stupid.
Stupid.
Goofy.
Okay, so the unfortunate part is even though we're here for a DNA test, I really do wish your mother was here.
And she's not here 'cause she wants to be messy. So she tried to invite both of the bums in the family. Who need money every day?
Who?
Who? You come here every day. You don't even have nothing. You don't have nothing. You don't have a house, you don't have a car, you don't have nothing. You don't even have a job. Get a job, okay? Now she's gonna call the cops. But you ask me every 6 months.
My producer is telling me that right now that we actually have a message from your mom that she sent to you.
Yep, and mind you, I'm enjoying my peaceful day, Karamo. And next thing you know, every 6 months they wanna hit me up starting problems because they miss me so much. They miss using me. So my mom had the nerve to text me, Alexis, I hope you find people that never gave a rather than whether you lived or died make you feel better. At the end of it all, you will see I did anything and everything for my kids. Okay?
Okay.
Please go get the help you need and never contact me again. When I die. You're not walking by my funeral. So they want to get disrespectful. I got disrespectful how? I told them all Josh to be talking.
You got me you sitting up here.
I don't want you guys in my life. You guys wanna be around me? You're here on my DNA test. Why are you here?
'Cause y'all taking my DNA. What is your name, sir? What is your name?
Joshua.
Your name is Joshua? Yep. And you're their brother?
That's one of my sisters. The other bitch, I don't know that bitch.
Yeah, I got some stuff to say, y'all. Were you raised together?
Yeah, we was all raised in the house all the way up until she was 18. You know everybody lived there.
I bought him a house when I turned 18.
Oh, she did? And he sold the house.
How did she buy me a house at 18? Who has enough money to buy a house at 18?
And I did.
Well, you bought your house at 18.
And I was trying to protect her.
I was trying to show you the check.
She bought her $500,000 and they flipped it.
Was it $500,000 or was it $50,000?
No, $50,000.
$50,000 when she hit the lick and stole it from the old shit. And you gave him the house and we flipped it.
And y'all know what?
Yeah, we flipped the house. No, she moved out on bad terms.
That's why I got what I got now.
And he fixed the house.
He employed people. He employed people in that house to get them houses fixed up. While she lived her life.
He put the time, the patience, the money and everything. You don't even know your dad. You've never even heard of your dad. You don't even know, so why are you on my DNA set?
Because my mom raised me more than anybody else. Why would I need another motherfucker?
But she raised you to be disrespectful and a thief.
When you know who your dad is, you know who your real dad is, you know who the fuck you wanna be your dad is, and you know who the fuck raised you is. So why the fuck is you looking?
Why don't you believe your mom when it comes to who your father is? 'Cause she, what I'm hearing from your sister is that your mom has always told you that Warren is your father.
No, my mom told my grandma, on God in heaven, that she was my grandma.
She told Darryl, you weren't even around. And if you call my grandma, she'll prove it.
So did Warren pay child support for you? 'Cause that's what she said earlier.
Yeah.
Warren did pay child support for you?
Yeah, and when I called the child support to see if there was a DNA test, they told me, That is not none of my business. I have to get it through my mom.
Got it. So we have Warren Jr., who is your potential father's son, and he's joining us remotely. Everyone, please welcome Warren Jr., Alexis's potential brother to the show.
Hey, brother. Hi.
Warren Jr., what do you have to say about what you just heard?
It's a lot of hostility going on between her and her family I did not know about. I just wish for them to really just get past and then, 'cause everyone needs a family in their life.
[Speaker:KARAMO] First of all, thank y'all both for being here. And we are here for Her DNA Truth. So I appreciate your perspective, I really do. I wish this was a different show where I could actually sit y'all down with your mother's help. I know that's not something you want, but help y'all to figure out how to heal some of this tension. But hopefully some of the, I hope some of the things I shared has given y'all some perspective and see that I do see you. But I'm gonna ask both of y'all to leave the stage now. I appreciate both of y'all. Thank y'all for being here.
Don't ever talk to me again.
Stop texting me, stop calling me, stop asking me for help. Stop talking. You text me in the group chat. Ain't never been like that with a guy though. Shut up.
I'm gonna see you again soon.
You know who I am.
Disrespectful.
They don't deserve to be around me.
I get it.
I live a peaceful, healthy lifestyle and they don't.
I get it. But if you gonna be peaceful, if you gonna be peaceful, you gotta like mimic that. Like, let me tell you something. I'm gonna share something with you again because I see a lot of you in me. I'm telling you, in my family, I'm the disruptor. I'm the one that's constantly like, no, we talking about it. We gonna speak the truth. We're gonna, no, we're not gonna pretend this. I'm telling y'all, my father had a child outside that we didn't find out till later on in the life. All the information, I'm always the one that's like, no, everybody, we getting it. No, no, no, we figuring this out. Y'all talking about this.
And they're mad at you?
They were.
I'm sorry to hear.
But the reason, but when and why I said I see myself in you is because I realize, oh, I don't need to match their energy. If I wanna disrupt this for there to be growth, I need to model it. But I understand you're younger. So right now when they piss you off, it's like quick. You like, oh no, no, I'm gonna get you back. But what I'm trying to help you to see is like if you really wanna live in your power of helping them grow, helping them see the truth of their situations, You gotta say, "All right, listen, I'm gonna show y'all by example. I'm gonna grow." And you've been doing that by coming here and trying to find your truth.
I've been doing that. I have peace to myself.
But there is still growth that can happen.
Yeah, and I'm not mad at it.
There's still growth.
But I need them to leave me alone. Every time I try to leave them alone.
If they do come back around, that's where you stay calm.
I'm gonna try.
That's where you have to fight within yourself and say, "I have to be calm." Yes. "I have to control myself." You can't control their actions. You can't control what comes outta their mouth,, but you can control you. And again, the power of what you're trying to do comes in your calmness, it comes in your clarity. And so that's also what I'm trying to tell you. Now you're here for one reason, because you wanna know if Warren Jr. is your brother or not, all right? This is your truth to open. You've been here before. You deserve these answers, you deserve to know. I'm gonna stay right here. Since nobody's on the stage, I'm gonna stay close to you.
So this is very important to me 'cause It really is bothersome when you're just trying to become an adult, and I'm only 23, y'all. In the last 5 years, I feel like my family is my enemy, and I'm tired of it. It's disrespectful and it hurts my feelings, and I'm very thankful to Warren and to Darwin and to everybody, my grandma, for allowing me to speak my truth and allowing me to get to know my truth without being rude to me. Alexis Warren Jr. is your biological brother. And there's nothing wrong with that.
Okay. So this is your family. Come sit with me. Okay. Okay, good. You got your answers. You got your answers. You know for sure now. You know for sure now. Warren Jr., how do you feel knowing this is officially your sister?
I'm actually happy about it. You know, we always want to talk to her and everything, make sure that we, stayed in contact with each other. So we finally know now that she is our sister. Me and my other brother and sister, they will be happy to know about this.
What's making you emotional right now?
It's just frustrating that I feel like I gotta lose one family to gain another family. And it shouldn't even have to be like that. Especially if they're preaching, oh, you knew Warren was your father, then why is it a problem? Yeah. Why, you know?
I get it, I get it.
But what I want you to hear is that based on what I heard, is that everyone is not growing at your pace. I heard a lot of disassociation, a lot of, I'm not willing to hold people accountable, but they're not growing at your own pace. And so you gotta remember that because what's aggravating for you is that you want them to grow and when they don't grow, you start pointing out the ways that your mother did not show them the love that you think they deserve. You keep showing 'em like, this is where she wasn't wrong. But they're not ready to hear it yet. They're not ready to accept it yet. And so if you can learn that, it could be a pathway to you all having calmer conversations. I think right now it is best that you set some boundaries, that y'all don't talk. But I think if you can listen and take my advice, y'all can get to a place where y'all can talk and be better. And what I would like to do, and I am trained in this very well, if your mother would like to come on this show, I would like to have just a conversation with you and her and I can help you to figure out how to fix that relationship. Because the source of all this pain is not you, it's not your sister, it's not your brother, it's your mother. That's the source of this. So if you're watching this and you would like to come on this show, I am not holding anything against you. I am not, I don't have any prejudgments against you, but I do believe there's a pathway for you to be the conduit to help your children heal heal and your family heal, and I can help you with that. So I'm so glad you've trusted me twice with your story. I see your strength, I see your beauty, I see what's going to come for you in the future. And if your family wants to come back for more help, I'm here to support you, all right? But I'm glad you have this family now. Congratulations, Warren, on getting your sister. Congratulations to you as well. Everyone at home, make sure to come back next time, friends, so we can keep talking and growing.
I love you all.
What's all this for, dummy? So go be with your family, stupid. And Lexi, just so you know, go be with your family. Nobody can stop you. You're a grown-ass woman, but you gotta stop this shit with us in the meantime. At this point, we don't care if you're around or not. Make your decision, live with what you decide, and move forward.
