So from your perspective, you're a good father?
I'm a great father.
Okay.
Great. I don't know what they talking about. Yeah. Been taking care of these kids all my life, man. I got 8 kids, 9 kids.
Yes.
And I took care of all of them.
All of them.
Yes, I do got 9. Somebody said, "Ooh." Oh yeah. You know what I mean?
But you took care of all of them and you've been active in their lives?
Active. Military 13 years. I taught school for 7 years. I'm working at a job now for 18 years.
Yeah. And how involved are you in Misha's life?
Every day since she been born, I've been involved in her life. Every day.
Every day.
It ain't nothing she don't want she can't have.
And how's your relationship with Misha now?
It's great. Me and her, we great. She has like 9 kids herself. Uh-huh. So I gotta help her, you know, do what she needs to do and get done and everything else, you know, just happen to keep on making her work and do what she gotta do to take care of these babies.
Got it, got it, got it, got it. Does Misha think you treat her differently? Because that's what she said to my producers.
Yeah, that's what I heard. I'm mad, man.
Yeah.
I'm upset, highly upset.
Yeah.
I take care of her, I think 'cause she don't look like my other kids. You know what I mean? I got 8 other kids, man, she don't look like none of them.
Yeah, do the other 8 look alike?
Yeah, they look all alike.
Uh-huh, but she look different?
She looks different.
Okay then, so you think because of the look is why she felt like she was treated differently?
Well, I wasn't going around too much. Uh-huh. You know what I mean? 'Cause I felt like that, you know, back in the day, my parents was telling me, get a check, get a check, but—
Yes, sir.
I just didn't wanna get a check because of the love I had for her mom. And I loved her and I just didn't want, I just didn't think that she was mine.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Well, that's it right there. That's Misha, y'all.
Yeah.
Ain't she beautiful?
So take me back and tell me about your relationship with Misha's mother.
Well, I was in the military and I was coming on furloughs. You know what furloughs are? Yeah. I'd come in, on a Christmas furlough and— They talking about, "Okay." Hold on, hold on.
Let me show you how shady people are. You see earlier when they judge you for 9 kids, but now all of a sudden your younger brother come up, they talking about, "Okay." Who did that? I see all of y'all.
And I bet it was all right there, wasn't it? You see? They talking about 9 kids and then y'all like, "Oh, okay.
Now, yeah." Now y'all know why he got 9 kids, okay. Yeah. Okay.
So you used to come home from furlough I'd come home from furloughs and I met her mom and we'd do our little thing, you know, go out, take out, you know, we'd do our little thing and then I'd leave again. In the middle of coming on these furloughs, she said she had a baby. So I said, okay. So I come home and I finally gets outta the military. I'm looking, I'm like, whoa, something ain't right. So I go to asking her, I say, well, I don't think this baby, she don't look too much like me. Ain't nobody been in my stove. She talking about that right there. I said, she says, She talking about, she talking about, "Uh, uh, ain't nobody been in my store. I keep that lock." I said, "Well, who else got the key?" You know what I mean? I wanna know, you know? Had me upset. So there you are, you know?
So at some point, so when you first got home, you had a little bit of doubts.
I had a little bit of doubt.
A little bit of doubt.
I had a little bit of doubt, you know?
And what happened when Misha was 3 years old?
Well, I was at a club and the music going and everything going and we having a good time and the guy kept on looking at me like that guy over there looking at me. And he kept on saying, he kept on saying, he finally walked up to me and said, "Hey man, are you William?" I said, "Yeah, I'm William." He said, "You know Latricia?" I said, "Yeah, I might know her." He said, "Man, that ain't your daughter." I said, "What'd you say?" So I pulled him outside real quick. I had to get her out there. I had to hear what I was saying. Long story short, he come out, Karamo, he described my kitchen, my bedroom, whole nine yards. Now I ain't met this man, don't even know this man. And from then on, and that's when I come home and she talking about the store and the cookies. I said, somebody was getting them cookies, it wasn't just me.
'Cause if somebody gonna describe my house and I've never met them, they've been—
They've been in my house.
They've been in your house and they got a key, they might have a key to the store.
He had keys to the store.
Yeah, he had keys, okay.
I wasn't the only one shopping there.
Yeah.
I wasn't shopping by myself.
So where were you when Misha was conceived?
Man, this ain't fun. I'm mad at it in the spirit. I know you are.
I know you are. I know you are. I know you are. So where were you when Misha was conceived?
I was in Fort Benning, Georgia.
Okay, Fort Benning, Georgia.
Then I flew home from the military, flew home, and that's when my mom and them came to the hospital and they said, well, you need to get this checked. 'Cause she didn't look like me.
[Speaker:KARAMO] Yeah. So if you had doubts, why did you still raise her?
[Speaker] Loved her.
[Speaker:KARAMO] Yeah.
[Speaker] Loved her, I did, I loved her. I couldn't, I couldn't, thank you. Couldn't get past that she cheated on me or whatever have you, whatever you have, 'cause I was out doing my thing, but you know, she just didn't look like me and I just loved her. And then once she started getting older, I just said screw it.
[Speaker:KARAMO] Yeah, and that's what it was, okay. [Speaker] That's right. Did you provide financially?
Yes, I did. I even got locked up 2 months behind it.
Oh, wow. 'Cause you saying child support, you missed some child support payments or something?
Well, no, I didn't miss none. I wasn't gonna pay her no more money 'cause I was mad at her. I was like, no, this ain't my baby. She said, them police gonna come get you. I said, let 'em come. And they did come too. Oh Lord. I said, my goodness. And so I was in jail for about 3, about 3 months. About a month and a half. It wasn't about 6 months, but I knew I had the money to get out, so I went and paid and got on out.
And then you got back on, you went on child support at that point?
I got back on child support.
Perfect. And that's $80,000 in total that you paid?
$80,000.
$80,000.
I won't fuck nowhere else.
Yeah. I hear you.
You know what I mean?
So why is it important now to get the DNA truth?
We were watching your show, believe it or not, and she was like, "Well, Dad, Mom showed me 3 other guys." Oh. That could possibly be the father. I'm like, "What'd you say, Miesha?" She said, "Yeah." She started showing me pictures of these guys. And it crushed my heart at first.
Of course.
I mean, I'm sick.
And I'm like, "What?" Because now you've spent your entire life raising her.
Entire life.
And her mother has never showed you other men to say, "Hey, these could be." Never said it, never gave me no kind of hint or anything.
Never disrespected me. I never had no guys coming other than that one guy.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But, and it was all love. And she showed me there just recently here about 3 weeks ago before we come here. Wow. She showed me those guys.
So what did you notice? Did you recognize any of the guys?
Yes.
You did?
2 of them.
2 of them you knew, right? Wow.
Ain't that an ooh?
Yeah.
Girl, I'm mad. Y'all think y'all ooh and I'm mad. Karamo, I'm really mad.
I believe it.
I'm telling you.
Listen, I believe it.
I'm smiling, but I'm mad.
Listen.
This is the mad face, y'all.
Listen, I understand and respect that. $80,000. I've raised you your entire life. I've been there for you.
That was for one. I had a boy by her too. That's how I know that she's not, well, 80% of me saying she's not.
Oh.
80%, the other 20 is hanging in there saying she might be.
Yeah, yeah.
But I don't think so.
You don't think so, okay. Well, I think it's time to hear Misha's side of the story. So everyone please welcome Misha to the show. Hi, Misha.
Hey, how you doing?
Thank you for being here.
Oh, Misha, you do look nice.
So from your opinion, was William a good father to you?
When he wanted to be, he was. When he wasn't, he was not. Daddy, you wasn't all the time. I would call and ask for rides to work and stuff. Misha, I'm gonna have to pass on that one. I remember I used to have to walk down there. I had to do this, I had to do that. Okay, I'm doing it.
Well, that doesn't sound like a bad father.
No, it doesn't. But if you gotta pass my house to go to where you gotta go, why not?
Stop it. Okay, okay. Do you remember William being there for you as a child though?
I do, but it was very limited. Like, I don't even know how his siblings.
You don't know all of his siblings?
I do not, but my brother does.
Yeah, you told my producer that you felt like he treated you differently. How?
Because like, still to this day, Daddy, I go over your house, I be asking, he'd be cussing me out just going away. He could be going on like, on the way here.
I know you mad.
No, Daddy, on the way here. You didn't even wait for me to go take the DNA test.
To run my ID. He did not. They told me to be nice. I'm holding back.
Yeah, I know you are.
Oh boy, I'm holding back.
Daddy, to take me to go do the DNA test, you waited for me?
I didn't wait now.
You didn't wait for me to go take the DNA test?
The DNA went out. No, I didn't. I didn't.
Do you see him often? William often?
He stay right around the corner.
So you see him all the time?
Well, he don't allow me to. Soon as I come through the door, they hollering. It's lined up, grown everywhere.
So you live near each other?
Yes.
And do you feel like that now as an adult that there's a connection?
Daddy, sometimes, sometimes.
Okay.
Misha, you have a life, you have a man.
And you do too.
You have to be structured, you have to grow. That man has to take care of you, your kids, your family. If I do it, you ain't gonna do it.
How old were you when your mom passed?
I was 20 years old.
20 years old.
I was 20 years old.
Okay.
Like I said, My daddy told me first. At the age of 7, I went and asked her.
Your mama's twin?
Yeah. I went and asked her. When I asked her, she told me. She said, "I'm gonna tell you." And she told me. She kept it 100 with me. She said, "You keep it 100 with me and I keep it 100 with you." And ever since then, I knew about the possibilities. I knew about him and anything else that happened.
That was a good woman, y'all. This woman would get child support from me and give me half of it back. That's why I'm tearing up, 'cause I ain't never had a woman that, really just well-grounded. She was gettin' taken care of for the kids, but this woman would give me the half of child support back. And she just, it was just sad. I mean, she was just driving and lost control of her car. And that's the way it went.
Yeah, got it, okay.
She was a good person, sure.
Do you think William is your father?
I don't know what I want it to be. I just want it to basically help us deal with each other, you feel me?
Why'd you say, you know what?
I don't know what I want it to be. I want it to help us deal with each other the right way. If you gonna structure me, you need to structure the rest of them.
Got it.
You feel me?
You want it to be equal treatment.
Right.
Okay, I hear that. These other two guys, are they alive? Do you know them?
Yeah.
You know how to get in contact with them?
Yeah.
Oh, okay then. Did you know that she knew how to get in contact with them?
I told them.
Okay.
You ain't told me that.
Well, we sat at your table and I showed you them pictures. I did show you.
You just showed me some pictures of them people.
And I told you, how I gonna know where the pictures at if I don't talk to them?
Well, listen, I think it's time to unlock the DNA truth.
Okay.
William, my brother, you come with me. This yours to open. William, in this envelope is the DNA truth. As a young man, you had doubts, your family had doubts, but because, and I can see this, the love of her mother, you just fell in love with the daughter as well.
Yeah.
And you've raised her. From your opinion, it's been a great relationship. From hers, there's been rocky moments, But what I can see is that there is a relationship here, and I do believe that relationship is based in some love. But I think that everyone has questions in the back of their mind. Are we truly related? This is your truth to open, not mine.
Well, Misha, I love you no matter what. This ain't— I may not have been there like you said, but I love you regardless. And gonna help you with them 9 kids. Regardless.
And not just bring them candy.
Well, yeah, we can work on that, but I love you. Misha, William is not your biological father.
How you feeling, Misha?
I feel like we already knew.
It's okay, guys.
You feel like you already knew?
Okay.
That's why, you know, that's why we here.
Yeah.
You felt like you already knew.
Yeah, we both already knew.
Yeah.
Man, I was hoping it was leaning the other way though. 'Cause you look like [MASKED].
You said I didn't look like none of them. [MASKED] We're the same mama.
I know it, but that's what I'm saying. Even with the same mama, you would think that y'all would, my son and her looks alike.
Yeah.
We don't look alike though. That's what was keeping me—
Hoping.
Hoping like, okay, But, got it.
I know that for you, you're probably like, we already know. And that there was some doubts there. But I do believe that you're in shock. I do believe, I do believe. What happened?
I just, I don't know.
I believe you're in shock and let me tell you why. Because it's one thing to hear rumors. It's one thing to think it could be. It's one thing to even feel like maybe there's different treatment, but there's one thing to have confirmation. Right. And though he might not have been the best father to you in your eyes, he was the father you knew for 29 years.
Right, right.
And so that's why I said there was a bit of shock there because you're going to have to grieve the only man that you know. And vice versa, there's 29 years that you've known this young woman as your daughter, that you've been in her life. And so though, You're like, well, we kind of had the doubts. We kind of knew, we kind of was saying things. There's still a part of you that's going to have to like grieve this relationship that is not it.
Karamo, you know what a father feels when you know your kids is doing something and you, I might not be around her 24/7, but I'm in protect mode. Anything happened to her, I'm in protect mode.
Okay. Well, so with these other two men, would you like us to help you to see if they are your fathers?
Right.
Okay, have you ever talked to any of them?
I do.
You talk to both?
Mm-hmm.
Okay, how long have you been talking to them?
Since I found out it was a possibility.
Well, tell 'em they need to give me $80,000 back child support.
You said mama gave you back $40,000 of it.
Yeah.
You said my mama gave you back $40,000.
And 2 months in jail.
So listen, any support any support you want from us, we'll give it to you. We'll give it to you, okay? If you wanna talk to these other men and get them tested, we'd be more than happy to support you. I'm sorry for this because I actually was hoping that it would've leaned the other way.
I was too.
Yeah, I really was.
I was, I really was.
I really was. But you know what? You deserve, as a child in this situation, to get your answers. You deserve to feel complete. You deserve to get your closure. So any help we can give you, give, um, we're here for you. And thank you both for being here and sharing your story with me. Seriously.
