I gave birth to a 9-pound, healthy, light-skinned baby. The nurse was so excited how big the baby was. She said, "This is a 9-pound right here." 3 days later, I was handed a 6-pound, dark-skinned baby. I felt no connection to this baby. I believe my baby was switched at birth. Me and my friend, we was at the same hospital, and I think they gave me her baby. Adreia don't look like me. Adreia look like my friend. She's dark like her dad. She's dark like her mom. And my child's father, he's Puerto Rican, Irish, and African American. And Andrea, she's too dark to be our baby. I had 4 kids afterwards. All my kids are skinny, tall, and light-skinned. Andrea don't look like none of my kids. It's impossible that Andrea's my daughter. Deep down in Andrea's heart, Andrea know that I'm not her mother.
Everyone, we'll talk to Raylene a little later, but first, welcome Andrea to the show. Andrea, I'm so sorry. I know watching that video, I could see your body language and I could see it just bubbling up. Tell me what's going on in your head right now.
It's like, you don't know how it feels. Nobody knows. Nobody. What is wrong with her? All my life. I'm sorry, Karamo.
You are fine, you are fine. You're fine.
When I, the times I needed her, I needed, oh God, please help me, help me, Jesus, help me.
Yeah. So this has been going on your entire life where she's been rejecting you?
Yes.
When was the first time you remember your mother rejecting you?
I was 18. I was 18 and when she, when we first met each other, When we first met each other, then she still was like, "No." Yeah, so take us back a little bit.
So you said you first met her at 18. Where did you grow up when you were a child?
I grew up with, I have—
Yeah, take your time. It's okay, we understand.
She wasn't my grandmother, but they said, well, I wouldn't say they, I was raised as she my grandmother. Then as time went on and as I got older, she wasn't my grandmother. She was just a lady that was a friend of the family.
That raised you?
Yes.
Yes, okay then. And that's where you lived from birth till 18 years old?
Yes.
Had you had any contact with Raeleen at all when growing up?
No, no.
You knew who she was though?
Yeah, I knew, I didn't know what she looked like at that time, but I knew her name and I knew that that was my mom. That's all I knew.
What has Raeleen said about your appearance? 'Cause I heard what she said about that on that tape.
Well, I'm too big, I'm too Black. Come on now. She had a Mexican and Black child because that's what she said that she remembered. But me, I don't look the part.
Do you think you look like Raeleen?
I think I do. I just, I'm bigger. That's it. I believe I look like her, my face, everything. But we can't judge like that.
Yeah. So do you want a relationship with Raeleen?
No, I don't want no relationship with her. I just want my results today so everybody can know and she could stop talking about me. And I just, I stay gone away from the state and everything because of staying away from the family and not really having to be talked about. So I don't want no connection. I just want my results and she could go fly a kite for all I could care.
Do you?
Yes, that part.
Okay, I gotta ask you, and I hear everything you're saying, but do you believe you could have been switched at birth?
No, I don't believe it. I don't believe it.
You were born what year?
1987.
'87.
Yes.
I mean, I have it, you know, not saying this is not true 'cause I don't know, this is why we're here to confirm, but I don't hear a lot of stories at that time of—
Me either.
People being switched at birth. This is something you more heard in the early '50s or '60s, like where, you know, there was mistakes. Now a lot of that doesn't happen. Well everyone, it's time to hear the other side of this story. So everyone please welcome Raeleen to the show. Please take a seat for me.
Okay.
So I wanna know, how do you feel about what was just said?
Andrea, now, You know.
What do I know, Raeleen? What do I know?
Okay, hold on. When I met you at the age of 18, when I walked right by you, I asked the lady, where were you at? She said by the door.
You left, you went in the room, you slammed the door.
I went back to the bar.
That's a lie, 'cause I did not go in no room and slam the door. It was my birthday party. I was not out, I was not in the house. I was nothing, I was outside 'cause we had a jumper out there. And when you pulled up—
So you gonna sit here and say that? Yes, I am gonna sit here and say that because that's the truth. That's the truth. When you saw me, you did not accept me and you know it. And I'm tired of you talking about me. That's the reason why I called the show and to say everything that I had to say.
You don't know and something wrong with you. Something is truly wrong with you. How could you sit up here and say something like that?
What makes you believe Andreia is not your daughter?
I seen my baby.
I pushed my baby out. My baby was 9 pounds. My baby was light-skinned.
You understand what I'm saying?
Why are your other kids not light-skinned then? Why, why, why they not light-skinned? I pushed my baby out. My baby was light-skinned when I pushed my baby out. My baby was 9 pounds. They told me, they told me, they said, "I'm going to wash your baby up." My baby vanished. October the 7th, October the 8th, October the 9th, they brought me back a baby. I said, "That ain't my baby. That baby is too dark to be mine." But now you got a whole different story. Now you got a whole different story. Let me tell my story.
Can I tell my story?
Can I tell my story? Don't nobody know my story but me.
I was discharged with a baby that wasn't mine. I got home, I was told by someone, said, you have the wrong baby. The lady that I was living with at the time, she was my guardian. My guardian said, I know, I'mma take care of it. I end up getting in trouble, she hit me. She told me she want me out her house in 3 weeks. I left with the baby. She came, my brother gave her the address where I was at. She came to where I was living with the police from Pittsburgh. The police came where I was at. The police said, "I need to talk to you because a baby is missing." When the police officer came there, he said, "This is not your baby. This baby is too dark to be yours. Get up." They put me in the car. The police said, she said, "I'm taking the baby." They said, "Well, you go ahead and take the baby. We got to see what's going on with this." Right after they took the baby, I end up searching and searching and searching. I went to the hospital. The hospital, they was like, we trying to help you. You are right. I've been on this for the last 30-something years looking for my daughter, okay? It wasn't no disrespect to this young lady right here, but I knew when I met this young lady out, when I seen her, when I seen her, I showed her the pictures of who her mother and her father. This young lady broke down.
She said, I do look like her, I do. I started crying because I wanted you to feel good. I broke down because I wanted you to feel good, 'cause constantly you kept saying that you're not my daughter, you're not my daughter. How you think that made me feel? How do you think that made me feel? You can't even answer me. How do you think that made me feel? How do you think? How do you think that made me feel all that time? All that time? How long do you think that made me feel, you crazy bitch? I understand how you feel, I really do. You don't understand shit. You ain't never tried to work on me. You ain't never tried to check on me. Me. You ain't never nothing. Even if that wasn't your daughter, you could at least ask me, how are you? Are you okay? Are you okay? Why you couldn't call and ask me? I struggle by myself. I stand alone, and I even came alone by myself, 'cause God is with me, and he always been with me.
Have you ever tried searching for, for who you believe is your real daughter?
Yes, we talk. Yes, me and her, we talk. And my private investigator, yes, we have talked.
You hired a private investigator?
Yes, I sure did. He's working with my case, okay, so.
So how long is they supposed to be looking for your daughter?
We found her, so yeah.
You found her, so why she ain't here?
Why she ain't here?
So they found someone potentially could be your daughter?
Okay, so she feels the same way. She's messed up. She's like, what is going on here? She was like, tell me what's going on. She said, you saying that you my mother? And I said yes.
How much do you think you spent on this private investigator?
Actually, he haven't gave me the price, but he have done.
Oh man, come on now. You really making yourself sound real dumb.
Okay, anyways.
So you don't think any of your other kids look like Andrea?
No, uh-uh.
Okay.
No, I don't.
And so how many years have you been searching for your real daughter?
From day one, 1987, October the 7th, when they vanished with her.
Raeleen, The woman you believe to be your real daughter may be watching right now, you told my producers. Is there something you want to say to her?
Yes. You know who you are and I'm looking for you and you are my daughter. You are. And I've been searching all these years and it's like, I mean, you know, it took a toll. It have, it took a real big toll on me. I just wanna say, I want you just to try to reach out. I mean, or try to call or something. I don't even know what else to say. It's just, I'm looking for you and you know who you are. I just want my daughter to reach out. I'm looking for you and you know who you are. Please, please, please.
Don't that seem crazy after you said that You found her already, she know who she is. Like, what? Your daughter's right here. Your daughter's right here, man. And your daughter been here the whole time. And you gonna feel so— I just can't wait till this result and see how you feel and how everybody feel. My family, everybody.
Everybody. It's time for the DNA outcome.
Please.
Don't walk away, don't walk away. I want you to hear this. You've been walking away from my life the whole time. Too long, too long. Stay right here.
Stay right here.
Have a seat. Have a seat.
Have a seat.
You can sit. You can sit.
Oh, I thought you said, I thought she was the father.
No, you gonna have a seat and you gonna hear these results. Yeah.
All right, in this envelope is the DNA outcome. This is the truth that you all have been searching for. Brayleen, because you are the mother, I'm actually going to give this envelope to you. So this is for you to open. Please read the results out loud to us. What does it say?
It say Andrea, 15 years, biological daughter.
But they, but they, but the DNA, the medical records and stuff.
So can I see?
I'm your daughter.
Hold on, hold on.
I'm your daughter.
So this is your biological daughter. This is your biological daughter. This is your biological daughter.
Okay.
Oh my God. Okay, like I said, I need you to understand this is where you have to process because there was trauma that went on in your life and this girl has been searching and has been dealing with the effects of your trauma. This is your daughter. This is your daughter.
Oh my God.
For real?
You come down here too.
This is your sister. This is your sister. This is your sister. This is your sister.
Your mother experienced a lot of trauma as a kid, and this is it.
Yeah. Thank you, Lord. Thank you.
Oh my God.
Oh my God.
Oh, my God.
I know you're in shock.
Oh, my God.
You're in shock. You're in shock. You're in shock. You're in shock. You're in shock. In shock. You're in shock. You're in shock.
Oh, that is crazy.
Come here.
I know it seems. I know it seems what you're witnessing right now is her processing trauma, And it's turning into shock. And I know for us as an outside audience, it's like, how you switching up like this? What's going on? I'm explaining to you what happens mentally when somebody experiences trauma as a child and then has been telling themselves a story because they had to disassociate from the trauma and now is receiving the truth.
And—
This is your child.
And if you say you—
'Cause I'm—
Oh my God.
This is your child.
This is your child.
It's your child.
Yes, yes, yes.
We've been going through this forever. That's it.
This is your child.
Oh my God.
This is your child. This is your child.
Oh my God.
Sorry, Andrea.
Sorry. Come here. Oh my God.
I know.
No.
Raped me, and I was in a relationship, and raped me, and I was in a relationship.
That makes sense.
And he raped me.
Okay.
Oh my God.
Okay, okay.
Oh my God.
I know you did.
I went through so much. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God.
Let me tell you something.
Okay.
Mm-hmm.
Okay.
Oh my God.
I think we got good answers.
Yeah, me too. Me too.
Okay, okay. You got your answers. Your mother just shared with me quickly.
You did.
You did. The mother, your mother just shared with me the trauma. It started to come out. —of what happened. Oh my God. Of what happened. She needs to share that with you backstage. She just shared the trauma of what happened. OK. Oh my God, this is real. This is not for you to fix. You continue to protect yourself, OK? But you're on a journey now. OK, you're on a journey now. You're on a journey now.
Oh my God. Oh my God.
I know. Listen, we got a lot. I'm going to walk y'all backstage. Friends, we got answers. I'm glad that you could be here. I'm glad I could be here to support y'all in this moment. There's a lot of work that has to happen after this. So I just want to tell y'all really quickly, this show, I don't know if some of y'all could hear what she said. So the man that at 16 raped her, she went into shock. That's why. And as the shock started coming out, she started processing it. It was like wailing and like, oh my gosh. Because whatever trauma she went through, poor baby at 16, she ran from. And looking at this little girl was a reminder of the trauma. And so that's why she tried to reject her entire life. 'Cause she didn't wanna face the trauma. Trauma, so she couldn't face this little girl. And it breaks my heart because so many families, instead of facing the trauma, it's easy for them just to push people away and say, let's move, let's move away from the trauma, let's do this. And the trauma will find you. So Lord, I wish them the best of luck. Honestly, I wish them the best of luck. Yeah. But what we're gonna do now is we're gonna make sure they get tons of aftercare. That's like the beauty of this show. So I think it's gonna work out. It's gonna work out. It's gonna work out. Want more unlocked phone? DNA reveals and family drama?
