Thank you for being here and trusting us with your story. So you grew up believing that another man was your father. Tell me about that.
So, I mean, as a little girl, you know, you don't think about so much but just being a little girl.
Yeah.
So, is what we called him. And like, I was just very spoiled. So his wife and him, you know, they took care of me and they helped my mom and things like that. So of course I knew my biological mom, but I didn't see a difference. You know, so until I was probably like in my teens.
Yeah.
And then I was like, wait, you're not my daddy. You know what I'm saying? Wow. Wow.
How old were you at that point?
I was probably like, probably like in my teens, you know, because we started going over funeral arrangements and things like that, insurance. And he was just talking to me. He said, hey, you know, take care of this, take care of this. And he was talking about his sons. And I was like, I thought I was your only baby.
Yeah.
So, you know.
That's a lot for a 13-year-old to have to learn.
Yeah.
You know?
But you know, like I said, you know, I didn't see a difference or whatever or things like that. We didn't think about it like that. But eventually I wanted to know the other part of me.
Yeah.
You know, so. So that's interesting. That's how you found out that he was not your father. Did you confront your mother about this when you learned it?
She didn't really have much to say. She didn't really have much information. And I know by this time it was some time down the line, time has passed. So I was like, Okay, and I just kind of left it alone, you know, until I got a little bit older.
Got it. So what made you begin your search for your biological father?
You know, just wanting to know like who you belong to, your other half, you know, especially when you have children, you want your children to know who you're related to. You know what I'm saying? You don't want your children running out here and then they running up on people and then, you know, they're related to 'em. So I was like, nah, I gotta figure this out, you know? And then just, Overall, wanting to know, you know, you see different things in your bloodline, things going down generationally and you like, where'd this come from?
Yes.
You know?
Of course.
So that was a big deal.
And you ended up getting a big lead. Tell me about that.
Yeah, started searching and then next thing you know, I was, I found out that I could be related to about 6 men. They were siblings, I guess. So one of the 6. So I said, okay, you know what? Let me look further. And the more I kept trying to dig and things like that, then I came up with across a few names, a few relatives and things like that. So then I started looking into that. I found some numbers, emails.
So what happened when you contacted Lynn?
So he was just really nice and I was like, hey, look, I'm not looking for much. You know, I just want some, you know, information trying to figure out who my biological father is. I'm not looking for any money, you know what I'm saying? Or whatever. And he was just really nice. And so after that we started speaking more, you know, he'll call me, check in and things like that. And so I was just like, man, we gotta figure this out. And hopefully one day we could. And so, you know, I always watch your show. I always watch the show.
I do.
I appreciate it. I appreciate it.
Thank you.
I mean the ugly crying, everything. So I'm watching the show and I'm like, oh my gosh. So my kids told me not to ugly cry today. So I said, I'm not. So that's how I started. And I said, let me reach out to the Karamo Show. Yeah, I appreciate that.
that you felt safe enough to call us. So what did he tell you happened between him and your mom?
He didn't really have much to say either, 'cause I'm like, do you remember her? Do you know anything? Where are you from? You know, I was naming places where I know she lived and things like that. And at first he was like, nah, I don't know. And I'm like, you know what? This man probably think I'm crazy.
Yeah.
You know what I'm saying? But he was pretty cool. And then after that we was just like, hey, you know what? Look, we'll take the test.
And you find out.
You know, if we can.
Wow, okay then. And you showed your mother and Lynn a photo of each other, right?
Mm-hmm.
And what was their reaction?
I think both of them, you know what I'm saying? I'm about to be 43, so now they both looking like, who is that?
This skin is good.
Like, who is that? You know what I'm saying?
Well, let's take a moment for that skin at 43. Let's take a moment for this face, okay? This face at 43, come on.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay, yeah.
Yeah.
So both of them was like, I don't know who this person is?
Like, I was like, maybe they need to put their glasses on. You know what I'm saying? So yeah, neither one of 'em recognized him.
And how did you get connected with Lynn?
Once I got a little bit of information and then I went on Facebook and things like that or whatever, but I just was looking up stuff and then I got his number.
Got it.
And so I called him.
From like one of those Facebook angel groups? Yeah.
Like one of those?
Got it. Okay, that makes sense to me. And you had the chance to meet Lynn face to face. How'd it go?
Yeah, so last year around July, end of July, 2025. I rode up there, I had to take care of some business, go pick up my son, and I was like, hey, I'm gonna be in the area where you live. So I pulled up on him and I took a picture, we introduced each other and stuff like that, and then it was pretty cool.
Oh nice, okay, and you've had a relationship?
Yeah, so since then, like, he calls me, you know, I'll call him, hey, how you doing? You know, and things like that.
And what has Lynn missed out in your life?
For the most part, it always boils back down to my children. You know what I'm saying? Even for myself, you know?
Yeah.
After a while in my teens, I went through some things where there was rejection, you know? And then you wonder as a little girl like, dang, why am I not whole? You know?
Well, I think it's time to meet your potential father and hear what he has to say about this. So everyone, please welcome Lynn to the show.
That might be my dad.
Let me tell y'all something. I know an OG when I see an OG.
Hey, come on, give me a hug.
Nice to meet you.
How you doing?
How you doing, sir?
Thank you for being here, sir.
All right.
You ain't hear what I said, but I said I know an OG when I see an OG, okay? So what's going through your mind right now?
I'm just shocked.
Yeah.
You know, still surprised.
Yeah.
Shocked.
Yeah.
You know?
How shocked were you when she contacted you?
Oh, wait. Words can't describe it.
Yeah.
I mean, like I say, I'm still blown away.
Yeah.
You know? I ain't never heard nothing from my mother.
Yeah.
From the first day I met her.
So what do you remember about Talisha's mother?
Like, I only knew her for like, 2 days.
Mm.
I ain't heard nothing.
And you ain't grown.
I forgot her name.
Yeah, yeah.
I mean—
Okay then. Wow. So you go through your entire life and then all of a sudden 9 months ago you find out.
Right, right.
Okay then.
That's the thing. They was out there doing they thing back then, you know?
Uh-huh.
And they wasn't thinking.
Yeah. So let me ask you, how many— you have brothers?
Right.
How many brothers do you have?
Yeah, 6.
So it's 6 of you total?
Right.
Only reason I'm asking you that is because she, the reason she found you, as you know, is because a hit that said one of you, she's related to one of you. How does it make you feel hearing that?
I'm the one.
Yeah, okay.
Yeah.
So you told my producer that when you first saw her on this day that you knew she was your daughter. What about when you saw her told you that?
Just, you know, We would recognize, you know, whatever there before anybody.
Yeah.
You know, the resemblance.
Yeah.
You know, high cheekbone.
Yeah.
I got that in my family and she got it a little bit. I don't know, I just feel it. Sometimes you feel things, you know, I might be wrong, but you know, sometimes you feel things.
Do you have any other children outside of Talisha?
I have a son.
You have a son?
Right.
How does he feel about this?
That's a different show. Okay.
Okay.
I got you. We'll leave that one alone. Well, listen, Talisha, are you ready to find out the truth?
I am. I've been waiting.
It's been 42 years.
Yeah. Are you ready? Well, come with me.
Yes.
Oh.
Here you go.
Woo.
Okay.
Talisha, in this envelope is the truth of who you are and where you come from. You have said that you have questioned it once you found out in your teens. You have questioned it, you've wondered, you've asked your mother, you didn't get any information but your own search. And as you went on that search, one said, it is me. And you have said that this is not even just for you, though you want to have that closure, it is also for your children. Well, the closure you've been seeking is in that envelope. That's your truth, though, not mine. So good luck.
Okay. Yeah, my kids said no ugly crying, okay? No ugly crying. But I mean, here I am, you know, I'm 42 now, you know, and I had a great support system. The man that raised me, I had a really great support system, you know, and I know that that can't be replaced and things like that. So, But there's still that, that, that piece, that hole that you wanna know who you belong to. You know what I'm saying? All right, y'all.
Okay. Okay.
Y'all, I'm nervous now. I don't usually get too nervous. Oh, wow.
Okay.
Glenn is not my biological father.
Oh, okay.
Oh, wow. Sorry.
That's okay.
It's okay. You know, we still family.
Right, right, right.
We still family. What's up?
So. So, you said it. Wait a minute.
That's impossible.
It's impossible.
Whatever, like wherever you guys hung out at, I don't know, you know what I'm saying?
I'm the only one there to hang it.
Yeah.
It's impossible, you know?
Right, okay.
Another one stayed in Memphis.
Yeah.
Okay.
Another one stayed in California.
Yeah.
Another one stayed in Minnesota.
Yeah.
I'm the only one that fooled ever seen.
Is there any time during that time that any of them came and visited you?
I thought about all that, threw it all together. Believe me, I'm the only one.
But I thought—
And for what her mother said, I remember her mother vaguely.
Yeah.
Her mother even told her it was like a 2-night stand, and she right.
Yeah, same thing.
How would she know that if it weren't us?
I know she said that wherever she was hanging out at, it was towards, you know, where they used to live when they were younger or whatever, and I guess, Well, what we do know to be true is that your mom has more insight. Mm-hmm.
And I will also say that though you have done your own, there is something that has happened that maybe you weren't privy to. It could have been a day, one night, or something that could have happened because somebody has not told their truth or shared their truth. And we are here to pay for it and give you the support because as she said, she's looking for her closure and she deserves it. And the fact that you were able to step up, we appreciate you so much. And hopefully that will give others the courage to understand that this is bigger than them. This is about a child that deserved this years ago.
Right, right.
So if you're able to talk to them or you need our support, we would love to support you because there's some secret that has to be revealed. Clock it.
All right, well.
Yeah, there's some. So if there's any support we can give you in this, we would love to support you in this because you deserve your answers. But again, I really do appreciate you for stepping up and just saying, I'm gonna be here and I'm gonna be here for her. Because a lot of people after 42 years might've said, oh, I don't want nothing to do with this, I don't know. And it shows the character of who you are. I know that at least y'all will have a good relationship 'cause he showed you that he's gonna step up for you always.
Yeah, yeah, definitely.
Yeah.
Yep.
I'm always be there for her.
You always, I believe it. I can tell you flew out to this show after 42 years. I know you gonna be there for her, okay?
Oh yeah, oh yeah.
But any support that we can give you, because again, there is some secret and it's what we know. People like to keep secrets and then you be like, oh no, it couldn't be. And then it's something going on.
Right.
So we would love to be here to support you, but thank you for being here, all right?
Thank you.
I appreciate you having me.
Thank you so much.
Everyone, make sure to come back next time, friends, so we can keep talking. And growing. I love you all.
