If These Aren't My Babies...I Want A Divorce! | KARAMO

Kia's husband Eliza demands DNA tests, threatening divorce and claiming the children aren't his. DNA results confirm he's the biological father of both kids, but Karamo pushes past paternity to address the couple's pattern of physical violence and its toll on their 1-year-old and 7-month-old.
Chapters
I'm here today because I'm tired. Every time we get into an argument, my husband, he denies our children. He accuses me of cheating. Like, it's just overwhelming and I'm just, I can't take it no more.
What does he say about the children during your arguments?
Like, he was like, "Oh yeah, and make sure when we get a divorce, make sure you get a DNA test to come along with them kids." How does that make you feel? Like, it's heartbreaking because like, I know I haven't cheated on him or did anything wrong with him, So I try to be a good wife to him and the things I give you deny our kids.
Yeah, and also threaten them with divorce, right?
Exactly, 'cause it's not only affecting me, it's affecting our kids and they are little and they small.
And how old are the children?
They're 1 and they're 7 months.
1 year old and 7 months that he's questioning. So tell me, why does he believe Marian is not his son?
Like we had got into an argument or whatever and it got physical. So I was like, you know, Y'all got an argument and got physical? Yeah, so I was like, kill it, kill it. But I didn't know that I was actually pregnant until like a week ago. I took the test and I was pregnant. He was like, that put doubt in his mind about Imari.
So how often does he accuse you of cheating?
Whew. If I had a dollar for it, I'd be rich.
Oh wow, it's that much?
Yeah, it's been going on for like 6, 7 months. But you know, the only person that's been cheating is him. Mm.
So. How do you know he's been cheating?
Oh, he told me.
Oh. Oh, he told you.
Yeah.
And how long y'all been together?
We've been together for 8 years, married for 2.
8 years. And when was the first time he told you he cheated?
Let's see, a month ago.
A month ago, okay. And how many times did he say he cheated?
He said about 3.
3 times. Okay. So why does he think you cheated then?
I have no idea. I'm still trying to figure that out. But when I asked my mama, she was like, you know, I asked his mom and I asked my mom. So they both said the same thing. The accuser is the doer.
Mm. You went out with your cousins. Please tell me about that.
I had just went out with my sister and my cousins. I've been pregnant for 2 years straight. I finally got a chance to where I paid my grandma to watch my kids. And so like we just rode around and chilled. We pulled up at my house at 1:00 and then like he was like, "Oh, you didn't drop yourself off. This person told me that they seen you get out this car. You got out up the road." Why would I get out of the road?
Yeah.
I'm at my house.
So the first night that you get to go out after being pregnant for 2 years, It just starts?
I'm she.
Mm-hmm. Okay, why'd you separate?
Then we got into it, like it was too much.
Okay.
Like the police was called, too much.
Wow, how long ago was that?
3 months ago, oh, okay. So 3 months ago. Does he have other kids outside of yours?
Yes.
He does. How long have you two been back together now?
A week.
A week. And how's it been during that week?
It's, he trying.
And once you find out results today, what would you like him to do?
Like the accusations, the denial, like now he ain't gonna have no reason to throw a, oh, make sure you get a DNA test for them kids. I ain't gotta worry about it no more.
Yeah, it's done. Okay. Well listen everybody, I wanna meet Eliza. So let's meet your husband. Eliza, welcome to the stage.
If you got a husband at home, why are you coming in the house? 3 o'clock, 4 o'clock in the morning, then I see you.
Okay, why you do it? But why you do it though? Why you did it?
But half the time you were with me though.
But why you did it? Half of the time I was with you. But you stayed out at 4 o'clock?
Do you think she's cheating on you?
Yeah.
You do?
Yeah.
I don't know if I believe that response 'cause you smiling with it.
I can't, like, you know what I'm saying? I'm not no mean person. That's all I do, I do, I smile. So like, I can't just—
Okay, if you got access to my phone, like if you got access to my—
I don't got access to your phone.
Yes you do, it's unlocked. It don't got no unlock, it don't got no lock code. Like if you telling me that you sleeping with multiple women, why wouldn't I tell you that I'm sleeping with somebody?
Right, I'm gonna tell you I sleep with multiple women.
So have you cheated on her?
Yeah.
Okay.
How many times?
How many times?
How many times? Two. That's it?
But we was separated though.
But you married. What the hell? You married? We married. Don't mean that.
You stay at two different houses.
So?
You stay at two different houses.
And so that means go have sex with other people?
I don't know what you doing at that house.
So that mean go have sex with other people?
It's just honest to tell you.
Okay, honestly. But see, you honest. You feel what I'm saying? Oh, so it's okay 'cause you honest with me?
Hold on, listen everyone. We actually have a ping right now from Kia's mom, Felicia.
Yes, I don't like him because of how he do my daughter. And how he treat her. He needs to move on and let her be happy. And the kids are his, and I'm 100% on that. And about the cheating, he got to be cheating because she don't cheat him. She do not cheat on him. She love him to death, and he should do that same thing. If he can't do that, he needs to pack his bags and get the hell on. Yes, and one more thing. Who beats they wife in front of people and pull her hair out like this and have her crying and doing all this crazy stuff? You damn right he need to move on. She love him too much, baby. Don't let that love break you down. Move on.
Oh, wow. Wow. So you admit that you do beat on her?
Nah, I don't beat on her.
Okay.
And she'll tell you that, but ask her why I hide. That's why I hit her.
So hold on, 'cause I'm confused. You said, "I don't beat on her," but then you just said, "I hit her." Yeah, I hit her 'cause she hit me.
Like, she would just jump on me. Like, of course. Like, you think I'm just gonna let you put your knee in my chest and just drill me out? No.
But that's the thing I don't get. Like, I understand, like, yeah, I'm wrong for putting my hands on you, but you also wrong. But you can't just say, "I put my hands on you 'cause you made me." You a fucking man.
I be trying to walk out what you do, do, Kia. I be trying to walk out what you do.
Okay, but you walking out in an argument Okay, but if we trying to work stuff out, yes, you right, it don't supposed to get physical. We two grown people. Sit there and talk about it.
Right, talk about it the right way.
Okay.
Communication is the problem.
That's what I'm trying to tell you.
So what happens when you argue exactly?
Like, does he just get out of prison?
Not every time. Not every time we argue.
'Cause I heard you say earlier that the police were called.
When he got out of prison, he came back home a totally different person. Like, totally different person. But I understand like, You know, I understand like this.
If you went to prison. I was in prison though. Like, fucking jumping on her every day. Beat her every day. She ain't gonna tell that. See, you ain't gonna get the whole part of the story. When I was in prison, ask who she was with. A dude doing her worse than I did her.
When he was in prison, you were in an abusive relationship?
I wouldn't even call that no relationship. Like, the dude, like, he was staying there and he was helping me with the financials.
Yeah, that's fine, that's fine. I just was trying to find out if he was abusive.
So what about somebody— I'm not there, so who helping her now with financials? 'Cause I'm not there.
I went and got my CDLs. Is you not telling? I went and I'm trying to do something.
I wanna go back. Do your kids see you fight?
Hmm? Yes.
Do your kids see you actually fist fighting?
Right, that why I'm like—
Like he don't see the fist fighting, but only thing, like if he see us raising our voice, like he'll come, my 1-year-old, he'll come, jump on me, he'll hug me, but you know, his daddy be like, "Come on, Junior." He'll be like, "No." Like, I feel like if we can't be adults for our children, then what are we doing?
'Cause you said earlier that you have one other child, and I think I remember the child's 13. Yeah. The child's 13.
That's mine.
That's your child?
Yeah.
Your child is 13, so—
I got a little girl, she 9.
Okay, does your 13-year-old child live in the house with y'all?
Yes.
Does the 13-year-old see y'all physically fighting?
He don't see it, but he hear it. He hates it. Like he done woke up and he looked me in my face like, "Ma, what happened to your face?" And I'm like, "Nothing." Because you have like a black eye or bruise on your face? Yeah, it was swollen.
Okay, it's swollen. I'm ready to get to the paternity test.
Yeah, I'm ready.
I'm ready.
I already know what's up.
Okay, listen, in this envelope we tested both of your children. Here's the DNA outcome from your oldest child. Are you ready for this? You go ahead and open this.
Now after this, now I don't wanna hear no arguments. Dead.
It's dead.
You ready?
You really, I told you what I'm gonna do.
There you go, baby.
What does it say?
Okay.
He the daddy. I'm biased.
He the daddy. That is your child.
He the daddy, y'all. That is your child. He the daddy.
Okay.
Oh baby.
I'm ready to catch you on fly with noodle.
All right, here we go. This is the DNA test. DNA outcome for the 7-month-old child that you have. What is the child's name?
Imariyah.
Imariyah. Are you ready for this? Here you go.
Is you ready?
I'm ready.
You the daddy. Yeah, you need to take this. You need to put that. You need to put that. Can you keep them?
Yeah, you can keep them.
Okay, cute. What the other one is?
What the other one is? I want him to put them in the frame.
Frame them, baby, 'cause that's the end of it.
How do you feel about these results?
I feel happy.
You feel happy? Yes, sir. Okay.
So now I ain't got no reason to doubt in my head no more.
No more.
So now I can, like, is she willing?
Boy, I still wanna see them, your damn children.
Yeah.
You know that.
Okay.
But you know, if we willing to make things better, I'm willing.
Okay, I gotta tell you, so the reason that I got flustered right there and I got a little confused, I don't know if you could see a shift in my attitude, is because certain things trigger my own personality and my own sort of things within my life. On my show, I've been talking very transparently about the fact that I grew up in a house where my mother used to wake up, I used to see these bruises on her face. And for me, it just brought me back to thinking about me as a child waking up in a house where I saw my mama and daddy fighting, where I see bruises on the face, and I'm thinking about these kids that y'all got in this house. I don't know what has shifted, but the reason I had to get to these DNA results to see if this is, because there's a bigger issue here. There's two people that are supposed to be co-parenting, supposed to be in a marriage, that are hitting each other, that are hitting each other and now have kids in the house that are witnessing this.
That's bad.
It's bad. And so as much as I wanna celebrate this, I'm so happy that y'all have the answer to this, there's a bigger issue here. You came from an abusive relationship where you were getting hit or we don't call it a relationship, whatever it is, situation.
Well, my momma the same way, like.
Getting hit?
Yes.
What's going through your mind when you hit her back? Because I understand that.
I feel bad. Like, if she'll tell you, like, I don't like the argue or nothing. Like, when we get into it, I be like, baby, okay, you win. Stuff like that right there. But like, I see that like, that's make her mad, you know what I'm saying? So she'll take off on me. Sometime I run, she'll try to hunt me down. Like, she'll argue.
No, what pisses me off is the fact that you know for, you know damn well, like, I ain't sleeping with nobody.
Yeah, I don't wanna derail from the pack matter is that we're talking about abuse that your children can see.
Right.
So I understand we can go into all the semantics of what happened here. At the end of the day, I need to get to the core and some give you at least one step to figure out how y'all can walk off this stage and stop putting your hands on each other.
Right.
Because what I don't wanna see is that this generational trauma then go on to a third generation where now you just said you watched it in your house and now your child watches it and then you start, you become the grand—
Like to be honest, yeah, my 1-year-old, like— We've been going together for years.
He fight.
Talking for years. Like she said, she was in a abusive relationship when I was in prison. When I got outta prison, that's when I had to start put my hands on her 'cause she would—
But why? Because that's— I know. But what can we do?
Would you move up in the house? I can show you right now, she used to stab me with my heart in. I'd hate to stop her. If she would've just went on through, I would've been a dead man right now.
Why are you fighting so much? What's going on?
I took him to the hospital.
What? No, no, no, no, no, no, no. I'm not gonna joke with you right now.
I'm not joking. I did it.
Yeah, I get it. I know you took him to the hospital, but now I know the coyness of that statement and I know it's shocking to be like, well, I took him and there's like a funniness that you probably shared that story before. But for me, there's a bigger issue of a young beautiful woman right now who has to be a mother to these kids that watched her mother get hit. Why are you fighting right now?
I don't wanna fight him. I don't even wanna argue with him. I just want all of it to stop.
Do you think that you have the strength to walk away when you feel like you're being accused?
Yes, if it ain't alcohol involved, I can walk away.
Got it, okay, how often do you drink?
I don't, not, I push back 'cause like when once I realized, you know, that I had to put my big girl panties on and deal with the situation instead of drinking it away, I push back.
Got it. There's a lot of pain that you've been experiencing your entire life.
Yeah.
You ever talk to somebody about it?
Nope.
Do you want to?
Kinda.
You're not ready?
Yeah, I just don't wanna be judged.
You don't wanna be judged?
Nope.
I get it. This is why a lot of people come on this show 'cause they know I'm not gonna judge 'em. And because the things you're going through, I've been there and I'm never gonna judge you. And so everything you say, and most people at home not gonna judge you either. No one's gonna judge you because we understand and we see the pain of what you're going through. Going through. I also understand for you, you just got outta prison, so something must happen and I understand. No, ain't nothing happen.
You just gotta be aggressive anyway. But like I say, like we've been standing in the house 7 years, you know what I'm saying? I did like 2 years and a half in prison, but like.
And when he got out, like this is like his first.
I was just aggressive, but I did not put my hand on her.
Would you allow your sons to be in a relationship like this?
No, sir.
You wouldn't?
No.
Nothing.
Like if I have to put my hand on a woman, I tell her that all the time. If I gotta put my hand on you, I don't want to be with you.
So can you walk away?
I could walk, I'll do it all the time. All the time. But after like—
When he walks away, that triggers you? Yes. It triggers you.
Sometimes.
Yeah.
Do it all the time.
You didn't fight before you went to jail, right?
No, we never fought until like I got outta prison. Like she could tell you, like when I got outta prison, like I talk, but like I ain't, you know, put my hands on her.
Mm-hmm, I understand. Listen.
Like she said, she get drunk, get to drink. Yeah.
I wish that y'all didn't have to come here for the DNA outcome because there's a bigger issue here that it could really be detrimental to y'all lives if y'all don't get this under control. And I wanna help y'all to figure out who to talk to so y'all can talk to someone to figure out how to deal with this so y'all can both be able to walk away for yourselves as young, beautiful Black folks and also for these babies. Will you take them?
Yes, I will.
Thanks. That's all I can do. That's all I can do. Want more unlocked phones, DNA reveals, and family drama? Then make sure you're subscribed to the Karamo Show YouTube.
