I'm Feening For These DNA Results! | KARAMO

In this daytime talk‑show segment, host Karamo mediates a heated paternity dispute between Imani and Busta. Imani recounts how she and Busta began a sexual relationship in early 2025, during which a condom was removed and she later became pregnant. She describes Busta’s initial support, his subsequent ghosting, and the involvement of another man (the father of Imani’s older child) who attended the birth and whose surname the newborn carries. Imani explains that she never had sex with the other man during the period in question and that a prenatal appointment’s sonogram dates seemed to align with Busta’s timeline, though Busta disputes the timing. After months of tension, Busta requests a DNA test, which is administered. The test confirms Busta as the biological father. The conversation shifts to co‑parenting, naming the child, and emotional closure, with Karamo urging both parties to move beyond demands toward empathy and shared responsibility for the child.

So how did you and Busta start hooking up? Let's start from there.
We knew each other for a while. Last year he came over for his birthday. One thing led to another, we started having sex.
Got it. And I'm assuming you didn't use protection.
We did, but in the middle of it, he decided to take the condom off.
Oh, okay. Okay, I didn't know we was still doing that in 2026, but okay. So how did Busta react when you told him you were pregnant?
He was actually there when I took the pregnancy test. He was okay with it.
So it sounds like he was supportive in the beginning.
At first.
And then what happened?
He just ghosted me. And then months later he texted me saying he wanted a DNA test.
Okay. Had you been with any other men around that time that you were with Wester?
No.
Okay.
All right.
And was Busta at the hospital when you gave birth?
No.
Who was at the hospital with you?
My other baby's father.
Oh, okay. Oh, okay.
Yeah.
Why did he come?
Because Busta didn't wanna step up and be there for his child.
So your other child's father's like, since we have a child, I'm gonna be there just to support you?
Yeah, so I wouldn't have to do it alone.
That's sweet, okay. Since Busta wasn't there, whose last name did the baby get? Did he get your name or Busta's last name?
My other baby's father's last name. Oh. Oh.
That was a choice.
Yeah, he stepped up and he did it.
Okay. Is he still stepping up for the child?
He is.
He is? Okay.
Yes.
Got it. Does Busta know that your child has this other man's name?
I haven't spoken to him about that.
Got it.
Let me just ask you, just to be clear, had you ever, during the time you were with Buster, had sex with your other child's father?
Um, no, it's no possibility that he's, anyone else is the father.
Okay.
He even, Buster went with me to my first prenatal appointment and the doctor even like specified the dates I conceived and it all added up. So I don't see where the confusion is coming in at.
But again, because you kind of hesitated and you said, um, you have never, I just gotta make sure. You're saying during that time you did not have any sexual relationships with your other child's father?
No.
Okay, got it. Okay. Y'all heard that um too, right? I just wanna make sure I wasn't alone. Okay. Has Busta ever tried to meet your son?
Around Thanksgiving he said he wanted—
Aw, that's adorable.
To see the baby, but then he came up with some excuse he got sick.
Got it. And how old is your child right now?
He's 2 months.
2 months.
Yes.
So all of this is very recent for you.
Yes.
This is all like happening now.
And even we took the DNA test, he didn't speak to me or the baby.
Got it, got it. So when you went to the place we sent you to, he didn't speak to you all. So you want this DNA test, why?
For my son. Okay. So he's not allowed to deny him anymore.
Do you want a relationship with Busta?
No.
Okay, well I think it's time to hear Busta's side of this story. So everyone please welcome Busta to the show. How you doing?
What's up, my son?
So why do you have doubts about this baby?
In the midst of our connection and the pillow talk, she admitted to me that a week before we connected, she was having intercourse with her baby father and he was attempting to get her pregnant.
Oh, so a week before? You admitted that?
That was not a week before.
How long before was it?
That was, it was a while before.
Like what's a while?
It was in the same month.
A week and a half, 2 weeks, 3 weeks?
Was in the same month, was it not?
Yes.
Was it not in the same month? Yes or no?
After I had intercourse with him, I did have intercourse with someone else, but I was already pregnant.
Was it in the same month, yes or no?
I was already pregnant.
Was it in the same month, yes or no?
I was already pregnant.
So I wasn't asking the right question, that's why we got the um.
I was already pregnant.
'Cause I was like, okay, so the um was for because there was another man after you two had sex together?
Yeah, a while after.
Okay. You use the word a while a lot. What is that timeline?
Like—
Okay, so February 2025, y'all began hooking up. March 2025, another man tried to get you pregnant. 2025 in March, you announced a pregnancy. April, the doctor appointment weeks don't add up in your opinion. Correct, Busta?
Correct.
Okay then. And the baby was born and has another man's last name. Did you know that?
I assumed the baby had her last name. And if it's proven that it's mine, it's gonna have my last name.
It's yours.
How do you feel about the fact that she gave your potential child a name?
It just gives me more reason to believe that he's not mine.
It makes sense.
You wasn't there.
How can I be somewhere I had nothing to know about?
I told you the week before. You asked for that address. Then you asked for that address.
You knew my due date. No, I don't.
Yes, you did. You was there at my first appointment. How you didn't know my due date? The doctor told us. And we spoke the week before I went in the hospital.
Didn't we speak? How am I supposed to remember all the way in November when y'all told us?
We spoke the week before. Didn't we speak the week before? And I sent you the message.
We didn't speak nothing.
You sent me a text message. We spoke the week before. You asked for the address.
Didn't you ask for the address?
Let me ask you this.
You went to the first prenatal appointment. What happened when you were there?
The doctor, she gave us a timeline on when the baby was conceived. But the sonogram said she was 7 weeks pregnant. We only been together for 6.
I was not 7 weeks. It did not say 7 weeks.
What'd it say? What'd it say on the sonogram?
When we went in March.
You tell me when we went.
It was not 7 weeks. It was probably 5 or 6. It wasn't 7 weeks.
So you're not sure of what it says either 'cause you're saying 5 or 6?
No.
Okay. What did Imani say when you asked for the DNA test?
She told me, her first thing she said to me is, "How can you fuck somebody and not claim what you did?
But at the same time, you had intercourse with the baby father the same month you had intercourse with me." So you had sex with your other child's father, then you had sex with Busta, and then in between that you had sex with another man? No. I'm just going on timeline he's saying. I'm just going on timeline he's saying. So what are you saying?
No, it was weeks.
Weeks before, weeks in between?
After.
Okay, after.
Timing doesn't add up. You spoke to me, you pillow talked and said, "Did he try to get you pregnant?" You gave me all of the doubt that I need that that's not my child.
Did you ever say that? That your child's father Wanted to be pregnant.
That was way before. That was way before.
It was a while.
Yeah, that was way before.
A while.
That was way before.
Your timelines, girl. I don't know. I don't know. I get it. I see the confusion now, okay? So how did you find out that she had the baby?
My son came in the room and showed me an Instagram picture that her oldest son had posted on Instagram.
Got it.
I received no phone call to know that you was in hospital.
I called you twice. And I screenshotted you the call.
Your number is not in my call log and I sent you my whole call log.
No, you didn't. I sent you the screenshot, I called you, you said you ain't get no call.
I have no call in my call log.
I sent you the picture of the two calls.
So either you called me and it never went through or—
You said your phone was full.
Well, besides that, why haven't you met this baby at this point? Is it because you don't, because she said that even when we sent y'all to go do the DNA test, you didn't even speak to her or the child, why?
I refuse to give a child that I don't believe is mine the energy that I give my own kids.
Savage. Savage.
Okay.
'Cause I mean, it's a baby. You could be like, oh hey, you know? Not like, I ain't say you gotta pick it up and take it home and you know, but like, you know. Well, Busta, are you ready for the DNA truth?
I am fiending.
I'm fiending for it.
I'm fiending.
Well, Busta, come with me, brother. Well, in this envelope, Busta, is The DNA truth. It says if this is your child or not. I know you've had questions. We've heard that there has been, in your opinion, some discrepancies in the timeline, and you wanna know for sure. You don't wanna have an emotional attachment with this child or with the child's mother until you know the truth. This is your truth to open, not mine. Good luck.
I am the father.
Oh, okay.
I want him to have my last name. Okay.
So what happened?
I raised mines, so now I want him to have my last name.
First of all, I mean—
Well, hold on, before we start with the last name, which I do believe the child should have your last name, is there anything you wanna say to her as a mother? Because I think this is, the reason I'm stopping you and pausing is because I think with the hurt that's already been here, that if we don't start this co-parenting journey on building a new foundation of empathy and truth and vulnerability, what happens then, the relationship will always become about demands or desires versus it being about the child. 'Cause for instance, you came over and the first thing you said was a demand. I want the child to have my last name. Versus it being, "Hey, I'm sorry, I'm sad," you know, any of that.
I do apologize, but I'm just saying from a man's point of view, if you're involved with multiple women, you leave the option for it to be possibilities.
So he was yours, you believed he was yours in the beginning.
I think for the sake of the child, if I can encourage one thing, is replaying those parts of this relationship anymore is only going to keep you all in a cycle that will only fester and affect the child in the end. So I will tell y'all, whatever doubts you had from your point of view, I understand, I see it. Like I said earlier, I heard the timeline thing. Whatever frustrations you felt, we have to release that. You both have to grieve that and let that go because now it is confirmed, this is your child and this is your child's mother. Make sure she feels connected and welcomed and loved and vice versa. So this child know he's growing up in a household where both parents, they might not be together, but they love me and they love each other and they can at least respect each other. That's all I wanna make sure. So anything you wanna say to him? Anything you wanna say back before we go?
I told you that was your baby.
You got it. You got it, OG. I apologize.
All right. Well listen, it's gonna take some time. At least you processed. You got your truth now. You got your truth and I wish y'all the best of luck. Thank you for trusting your story with us, okay?
