Tyrone, thank you for being here.
Yes, sir. Tyrone, you sharp in this purple now. Thank you. Okay? Thank you, you look good too, Karamo.
I appreciate it.
Yes, sir.
All right, so tell me about your relationship with Jessica's mother, Banky, that's her name?
Yes, her name was Banky. Okay. It wasn't a long time relationship. It was like about a week or two.
Okay.
And we both got together, went out for some little drinks. So we had sex. And she say, You know what? You got me pregnant. And I said, oh my God.
In that moment?
In that moment.
How long were you together before you lost contact?
We was together like a week.
A week and that's it?
Yes.
And how did you find Banky had given birth to a baby?
I was downtown catching the bus and I seen her sister. She said, you know, Banky passed. I said, what? Oh my God. I said, I wanted to see her again and ask her, What's going on? She said, I'mma tell you. She had a daughter, her name Jessica. She looked just like you. And I said, what? She got the dimple in her chin just like you. And I said, wow. Now I'm wondering.
Yeah.
What's going on here? I got to find this child.
Yeah.
If it's my daughter. Yeah. I said, I had a feeling it was.
Yeah.
I searched and I searched. And finally, I had a caregiver, was my nurse, which was my ex-girlfriend. She know the family. And she say, Tyrone, I found her cousin. And then on my birthday, I said, God, if that daughter's mine, I wanna hear from her today. So my daughter comes in the door, 'cause I'm partially blind. She looked through the text messages and she say, "Dad, who's this girl say she been looking for you, you been looking for her?" I say, "That's her, that's Jessica." This is on your birthday? On my birthday. Wow. Man, I said, "Call her right now." So she called her, she said, "Hello?" I said, "Is this Jessica?" She say, "Yes." I said, This is your daddy. Just like that.
Yeah.
And she say, wow, what a birthday present, Thanksgiving present, Christmas and New Year's.
Wow.
Huh?
Look.
So how was your first conversation with Jessica?
It was beautiful. Just like I know her forever.
Yeah.
Yes. Wow. Yes.
So have you met Jessica yet?
No, not yet.
You have not met her yet?
Not yet.
Not yet.
Okay. Well, I think it's time for Tyrone to finally meet his potential daughter. So everyone, please welcome Jessica to the show.
Yes! Woo!
How are you doing? Nice to meet you.
Thank you for being here.
Thank you.
Here you go, right here.
Hey, how are you?
I'm all right. How you doing?
So how does it feel to be meeting your possible father right now?
I don't know how to feel right now. This all happened within 2 weeks. He didn't really reach out until 2 or 3 days later. It took him a little minute, I guess, since he don't, you know, old people don't really be around they phones like that.
Oh, what?
So I guess he had to wait till Robin get there and she finally reached out to me. They called me that day or whatever and it's just been happening so fast, but I feel like it's, align for my purpose.
Okay.
You know?
Yeah. So we have the text message from your cousin who's the one who connecting all of this. Some guy says he want to talk to you. He says he is your daddy. If that's okay with you, blah, blah, blah. Okay, do you believe him? Because you're like, is this somebody we can trust? Yeah, it makes sense. Okay. Had you also been searching for your father?
Yes.
And how old were you when your mother passed? How old was I?
I was 4.
4 years old.
My God.
And who was it who raised you?
My aunt.
Your aunt was the one who raised you? Mm-hmm. So what was it like talking to Tyrone for the first time?
I was happy. You know, I feel like it was a start to get somewhere with me healing.
Yeah.
Maybe from here on out we can just possibly build a family. Like being, I need someone to be supportive for me, be there for me when I need someone to talk to. Maybe I can call and depend on you and you could be there for me. Built.
Do you want Tyrone to be your father?
I would love to experience like the moment of having a father. The way he came in and possibly my sister came in, it's so loving, supportive as is.
Yeah.
To the point where I don't even know how to take it because it's like, hold up, wait a minute.
Okay, you're not used to it. Yeah, you're not used to it. Makes sense.
Yeah.
Listen, Tyrone's daughter Robin is in the audience.
Please welcome her to the show.
Hey.
So did you have any idea that your dad could have another daughter?
He used to talk about it when I was younger, but I was like, this man, he playing.
OK, yeah.
Because I'm the baby, OK?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So I didn't know because I met my brothers when I was 16. So I was like, it's a possibility.
Yeah, it was a possibility. How did you find out about Jessica, though?
I do everything for him. I check text message, voicemails. And I'm scrolling through his phone. I see daughter. I say, how about who this woman?
OK. My baby.
And I was like, oh my God, I have to call her. So I called her.
Yeah.
Literally, we was supposed to meet Sunday and I mean, well it was supposed to be on Monday and I was like, girl, can you please come?
Yeah, now.
Like right now. 'Cause when I seen the pictures I was like, oh, she look like me.
Yeah.
She, I see it.
Yeah.
And then so she came living, she stayed till about 2:30 AM. We just was talking, talking and just to have like, I just pray that she is my sister. 'Cause I got older sisters. But to have a little sister do TikToks and stuff, yeah. That'd be great though.
I mean, how does this feel knowing that like literally this is just love all around? There's nothing but pure acceptance.
It makes me feel great. I love it. I don't have no other words but say that I just love it and I just pray that it continues to, you know.
Yeah. Yes, yes.
How far do you all live from each other?
Probably like 20 minutes, 25 minutes.
But still, everybody's close.
Yes. Everybody close.
Wow. OK.
Yes.
Wow.
So this entire time, your potential father and sister is 20 minutes away.
That part, that's what I said.
This entire time.
Yeah, but nobody, it's like nobody didn't have any, like, when I asked my auntie, like I tried to ask around, it's like either they didn't wanna give me the information because they feel like I was just too young at the time, or they were just trying to bury it and hide it 'cause they didn't want to, you know, face it. But when God feel like it's time for you to, you heal and you ready to heal.
Yeah.
And he knew that this is something that can heal me. It's gonna all line up perfectly. Yes.
Yes.
Well listen, Jessica, are you ready for the DNA truth?
Yes, I am.
All right, Karamo. Oh my God. Here we go. So Jessica.
Yes. In this envelope is the truth of your identity. You've had a man who had a relationship with your mother that was a very short one, but in that short time, he believed in that moment and from every moment since that you were his daughter. He even told his other daughter, his biological daughter, that like, "Listen, I have another one out there." So this was not a lack of somebody not wanting to claim you. Someone has always wanted you. And in this upper moment, you'll find out if this is your father and if that is your sister. This is your truth to open, not mine.
Okay. But before I open it, I would like to say, if it come back either you're my daddy, you're my sister, if not, I would just wanna say we already met each other and from here on out we can be brothers, sister, cousins, aunties.
Yeah, I'm still gonna love you.
Whatever. I would still love the both of y'all no matter what 'cause the type of energy that y'all came and brought into my life, I never really felt like that.
Yeah.
From nobody else. So. Ready? All right, here we go. And it says Jessica Taron is not your biological father.
Oh my God.
So it's okay.
Oh my God, yes.
It's okay, if you still wanna be my father, you still can be. Yes, I am.
Yes, yes.
Come on down here, love. Come on down here.
Come take a seat for me. Come on down here. Oh my God. Come on down here.
It's okay, girl.
I will tell you something. I know that you're right now, you're in shock. And even though this has been a short period of time, I know that the feeling that you're feeling, and I could hear from when you were saying of where you're at in this moment, at this moment in your life, it felt like it was meeting for a reason. And I actually still believe that to be true. There is a reason that that whisper went in his ear and he never left it. We sometimes don't realize that that whisper that he got might not have been for him to be your biological father, but it was a whisper for you to remember and to always realize that you deserve family and support because you, like you said, in 2 weeks you have felt something you have never felt before. And it sounds in the way that they're holding onto you as if they're not ready to let you go either.
No.
And I'm still gonna be here.
You're still my daughter.
I don't care.
We already built a bond. It's okay.
You still my daughter.
Don't cry.
If they are truly willing to have a relationship with you, are you open to it?
Yeah.
You are?
Definitely.
Are you all willing to continue this relationship?
Yes, most definitely.
Yes.
I'll be at his house Thanksgiving.
Hey, hey, hey, Auntie. He has a son, so it's still my grandson.
Yes.
I do believe, I do believe, I do believe. Because for you to be a young man and for you to say in that one moment you felt like there was something, and for this, for you to hear this and for you not to let it go. We've all had people in our lives who have said, oh, I've seen people on this stage who have said, oh, you could be the father. And they let that thought go. It's gone. It's not in their mind ever again.
That's right.
This man didn't let that go.
No.
And he's talking about it. He's still ain't letting go.
He's not letting go.
Never.
And I believe that there is a reason for this.
Yes.
And I know there's gonna be a moment of grieving, of figuring out, of processing.
Yes, God.
But I do believe there is a bigger reason for this. What are you feeling right now?
Um.
Yeah.
Oh baby.
We still gonna be together.
Yes, we are. Yes, we are.
I got a lot of love. Yes, look.
Hey Karamo. I would like to thank you for your show and for everything you do for everybody on this stage that come through with all kind of problems. Thank you. We thank you so much.
I appreciate that, brother. Thank you. That's what I'm here for.
Thank you.
Thank you.
You're welcome. Listen, any support y'all need, I'm here for y'all. And just thank you for trusting me with your story. All right.
Thank you for everything.
Everyone, make sure to come back next time, friends, so we can keep talking and growing. I love you all.
