And you're not gonna tell me that I was wrong at that point.
How? Why? Why are you talking about yourself, bro?
'Cause you think you're being selfish right now.
How?
'Cause you're screaming at me.
You shouldn't be.
You should respect me.
Hanifa came to my show because she wanted help mending her relationship with her mother. She had recently become a mother herself and wanted her child to have a relationship with their grandmother. Haneefa was in a lot of pain, and we really started the healing process right on the show. This episode went crazy viral and really resonated with y'all. So I wanted to dig into some of those comments right now while you talk.
I cannot apologize for my past. You know why I can't apologize for my past? Because pain upon affliction causes addiction. I never meant to inflict any pain on her. I truly apologize if you feel some type of way about what I was traumatized about and how it may have been a reflection on you.
Yeah.
Because I—
That's your apology? Only—
Wait, wait, wait. The mother is so stuck in her own self-pity where she cannot have empathy for her own daughter. You are correct about that. Definitely the mom was not in a space where she could hear her child and where she could like acknowledge how she played a role in it. And be there to support her. And it was sad. One of the things y'all didn't see is that the young woman had so many panic attacks on this show that we actually had to keep taking her off the stage. And even with that happening, the mother still was coming with her BS. It just rocked me to my core.
She has not yet to feel how it feels to try to eat food and still be hungry and can't chew enough to eat. Suffice only, okay?
So this is what I say. I really, I really thank you so much for coming on the show. I appreciate you so much for telling me your side. Thank you.
Thank you.
Yes, have a good one now. I'm gonna talk to her. Thank you so much, seriously. I really appreciate Karamo getting the mom off stage once her daughter said she doesn't want her in the life anymore. Helping with those boundaries from the jump. Definitely, you know I'm all about a boundary. Let's set it, let's stick to it. Once I acknowledge that this mother can't give her daughter what she needs, It's about helping the daughter then heal without the mother being there. You can see that there's just a wall for some people and it's like, we don't need to go in circles. Let's say thank you for being here, but you gotta go because now it's about your child's healing. And if you don't wanna give it to 'em, I'm a damn sure support 'em in it. And that's what's going on, I'm telling you. And you're right for your pain.
It's like you were in pain. Why inflict that on me? Knowing that you were in pain and damaging your child.
So stop right there. Stop right there. Her screams are so powerful and potent. You can feel the anger and sadness in it. You have no idea. Sitting there right there hearing it, you actually hear more sadness. She did not know how to do it. So in your mind, you know how to do it now. So you're looking at her like, how is it that you didn't know how to do this? How is it that you did not know how to do this for me? She didn't know. You deserve to have it done.
See, that's where I'm saying again, like I understand, like she didn't know, but it's just like the love for my child, I got so much more than to damage her.
I know.
I'd rather cry it out, even through postpartum, I'd rather cry that shit out.
I know.
To hurt my baby.
I know. Her mother is nothing but a hurt child. She never grew past that or let it go, nor does she even have space in her heart to at least be proud of her beautiful, courageous daughter for breaking the cycle. There was a lot of pain in this mother. I normally always make sure that I acknowledge the pain that a mother have went through. I acknowledge the pain a father has went through because I think it's important to say, I see you just as much as I see your child. Now you don't have to feel like no one gets my point of view. We get your point of view. So now can you step up and be there for your daughter? But in this case, she just couldn't do it. She just couldn't do it, which was heartbreaking. Don't fool yourself into believing that somebody outside of you is your rock. You are your own rock. So just remind me again, what you gonna do when you leave the show?
Free the relationship so I can heal.
Then what you gonna do?
And shut the door and leave it there.
Boom. And then what you gonna do next?
Set boundaries.
Great. And then the third thing is?
And be my own rock.
Remind yourself that you always been. This is definitely Karamo's calling. Love it. He's not about the drama, he's about the healing.
Hey, see, I'm watching the show. Because that's what I'm about.
It is very important on this show that there is healing. Y'all can see drama, I see pain. And once I see the pain is when I can start the healing process. And that is my only goal on here, that people walk away a little bit better than I met them. Just giving them one step to be better. And so thank you for seeing that. And thank you for saying this is my calling. I've been doing it for a while now. So, you know, I appreciate you all so much. Continue to comment and know that I love you all, and let's keep talking and growing. Hold up, hold up, where are you going?
