My Dad Loves His Other Family More Than Me! | KARAMO

In this episode of Karamo’s talk‑show, 22‑year‑old Myana confronts her alleged father Michael about a lifetime of abandonment, lies, and the belief that he chose his new family over her. Myana recounts being told different men were her father, being left on the streets, and feeling ignored by Michael’s wife Lori. Michael defends himself, saying he was unaware of many details, admits he paid for a DNA test that never materialized, and acknowledges a strained relationship. Lori appears, claiming she tries to support Myana but is accused of contacting her only for money. Karamo mediates, asking probing questions, clarifying the three possible fathers, and ultimately presents Myana with a sealed DNA result. The envelope is opened and confirms Michael is Myana’s biological father. The host guides both parties toward emotional closure: Michael apologizes, promises consistent contact, public acknowledgment on social media, and to “call and check up” on Myana. Karamo reinforces the need for honesty, encourages Michael to admit his new family, and urges Myana to manage her hurt. The segment ends with mutual expressions of love, a photo moment, and a hopeful note for future healing.
Chapters
Karamo, I'm 22 years old and I've been hurt my whole life. Mike knew he was my father. He has done nothing for me at all. My mama was a hoe. She lied to me for years. I was told that another man was my father, but it never felt right. Out of 5 kids, I'm the only one that don't have a father on a birth certificate. Out of 5 kids, I'm the only one. When I was a little girl, Mike's mom used to tell me to call him Dad and not Mike. He knew that he was my father. He could have stepped up and fought for me. He started a whole new family while I struggled. He have pictures of his daughter on Facebook. Where's I'm at? Where's my pictures? Where's my daddy? I was put on the street and had nowhere to go. I slept outside for 2 days and Mike didn't do to help me. Lori is two-faced and playing both roles behind the scenes. She do not push him to be a father and the man that he needs to be. I feel like she only care about her and her family. These people don't care about me. Nobody does.
All right, well, before we talk to Myana, let's talk to her alleged father, Michael. So Michael, welcome to the show.
Thank you.
Is this how Myana talks to you?
Yes, the disrespect is just, it's kind of over the top. It's been going on for a long time, you know, and I'm here just to try to get some type of closure with this.
So why do you think she's disrespectful to you from your point of view?
I think it's coming from a point of what she's been told, a point of she's seen me with my other family, my wife, I have a 13-year-old now, and it's been a point of her seeing that, and I get where she's coming from, but she doesn't know the full 100% truth.
So tell me your side of the story, 'cause I wanna hear this, 'cause I'm sure she heard one side from her mother, and she also has her experience, but what is your side?
My side is she was stripped from me. I was there, and I always had doubt. I paid for a DNA test. They didn't show up 4 different times.
Oh, okay.
You know, so.
So you had the doubts, you stepped up and said, "I'll pay." Right. But the doubts got stronger.
Exactly.
Were you involved in Myana's life at all?
Yes, from the time she was born up until she was maybe, in that picture that you seen, she was roughly 6 years old. She got basically taken away from me. Things just took a left turn, you know? Got it. She moved outta state and all the while I'm raising my daughter. With my wife.
Your 13-year-old?
My 13-year-old. So, and like I told you, Myana, you know, the life that my daughter have now with my wife is the life that she had until she got taken away from her.
Got it. What's your relationship with Myana now?
It's bad. It's bad. I just got cussed out last night. Yeah, you know.
Got it.
It was.
So why do you want the DNA truth today?
I need to know.
Michael's wife Lori is also here. So everyone please welcome Lori to the show.
Hi Lori.
Hi. How are you?
Good.
You look pretty.
Thank you.
Did y'all coordinate?
Yes.
Okay, I like it. I like a little couple coordination, I can't lie. Okay, so why did you call the show?
I called the show because I am so tired of the disrespect set on my husband, us as a family trying to build with our 13-year-old, teaching her the right things in life.
Yeah. How's your relationship with Myana?
It's rocky.
Rocky. Okay.
I try, I put forth forward and contacting her. Sometimes the only time she answers me is when she wants money. That's the only time she really contacts me.
Got it, got it.
Or she wants to be disrespectful on her dad.
Got it. Well, I think it's time to meet Myana and hear her side of the story. So everyone please welcome Myana to the show. Hi, Brianna.
I'm not fake shit, and that's a lie.
Oh, okay. So who you saying is being fake?
Both of them.
Okay, tell me your point of view.
Hurt people really do hurt people, and I wasn't, you probably call it jealous, but I wasn't ready due to the fact that you just went and started a new family. You forgot about, you let her take me. You didn't, you knew I went to North Carolina. You didn't try to fight for me. You didn't try hard enough at all. You went and started a new family.
Myana, look at me. I'm telling you.
I don't wanna sit next to you because this is like, last night you called me and asked me about this person and you know that she put me out and I didn't have shit. And you didn't know.
And I didn't know she put you out.
I'm talking. You didn't know that she put, 'cause she turned my phone off and I couldn't get in contact with nobody. I told her and she went back and told you. So how you didn't know? Yeah, I said you fake and you be too fake to this shit because it'd be times where you be playing both roles or you only like come and say something to me like for in a moment and afterwards it's like I don't hear from you. I don't like nothing.
Let me ask you, why do you think I didn't fight for you? What makes you think that?
If you would've fought, if you did fought for me, you would've been in my life. You didn't fought for me good enough.
So you feel like Michael wasn't there for you as a child?
No, he wasn't, never.
Did he ever claim you from your point of view?
He claimed me for a minute, but he, no.
Okay.
If you claim me, I would've been on your Facebook just like your other child was on there.
We talking about, hold up.
If you claim me, it wouldn't just be one child on there. I would be on there as well.
Hold up.
How is it, it's you on your Facebook picture, then it's her in the background? Why is it not both of y'all?
That picture that they showed, where you think that came from? That's the only picture I have of you.
But why, that's the only picture you got of me, but is it on Facebook with your other daughter?
Where you think it came from?
Okay, when you go on Facebook, you don't see that picture.
But how you think I got that picture?
But when you go on Facebook, do you see it? Yes or no?
Myonna, it was on my Facebook page.
When you go on Facebook, you don't check up on me, you don't send a text, you don't, how could you sleep at night knowing that I'm not okay?
I don't sleep at night. I don't sleep at night. That's the thing you don't see.
But when I'm talking to her, or I'm up talking to your wife, she's saying that you sleep. So how is it you not sleeping? Uh-huh, uh-huh.
So Myana, were you told that someone else could be your father?
Yeah.
You were told that?
Two people, yes.
Okay, and you were told that by your mother or by family members?
Both.
By both, okay.
Myana, I've always tried to be there for you. I text you often. Sometimes the only time you do respond to me is when you need money.
You repeating that, but I heard that before I came out here. So it's just like, what is we really talking about here?
And we fought for you to come out here.
I asked you for money because it's like, that's the only thing.
And I understand, I've been in your shoes. I've been on the streets as a kid.
So let me ask you this. I wanna be clear with everyone. So there's two other men plus Michael that are in question that could be your father, correct?
Mm-hmm.
So there's 3 total, okay. 'Cause it sounds like from them that you only call when you need money. Is that true for your perspective?
That's not true. I call them when I need, I call them when I physically need them.
Okay.
They don't pick up, but like—
I always answer you. If I'm not at work, I cannot answer my phone at work. But then I always reach out to you in a text like, "Hey, I'm at work, you know, is everything okay? Are you okay?" I always check on you. I send you texts. I just tried to text you 3 days in a row and you never answered me.
No, listen, that's the thing. Clapping all that, that's cute. But you was only checking on me, you was checking on me because they need the money, they only want the money. Y'all kept texting me the same thing. Did you receive the phone? Or is you at the hotel yet? Or is this, this and that and the third. Y'all was like, you was only checking up on me or talking to me because of the show.
I have a job, I work 5 days a week. I don't need nobody's money and I don't depend on nobody.
Okay, okay, so it shouldn't be going that deep if you know you don't need the money. Who told you that Michael was your father when you were a child?
His mother.
His mother told you that?
Yes, my grandma.
And why do you call him Mike?
'Cause he was never there, like physically. He never, I never had him. I never had—
We didn't know where you were at. Your mom took you and left. We went through the courts. We fought for you.
Have you ever called me, girl?
Your mom would never show up.
You knew I was in North Carolina because you—
We didn't know until you came back.
You knew where I was at. No.
No. And I'm telling you.
Well, hold on, I wanna ask Myana this. What do you need from them?
I want him to step up and be a father.
What does a father sound like to you?
Oh, is you okay? Do you need anything? Have you ate today? Is your mental okay? Like, just why do I have to come and text you first? You my parent.
So I'm gonna ask you this. I'm gonna ask you this because we don't know the DNA truth, but I have a lot of factors. Your hurt and pain is valid. It's very valid. I'm an outsider, so when they see disrespect, I understand why you have the pain. But can you commit that if they are your parents, if this is your father, that you will try your best to manage the hurt so it doesn't come out as disrespect?
Like I told him, like the anger that I have for my mama, I take it out on him.
Okay, so that acknowledgement is very healthy. And for a 22-year-old to be able to acknowledge that, that means there's room for growth. So I give you your flowers, baby. It's time to get the answers and unlock the DNA truth. Myanna, come with me. So, Maya, in this envelope is the DNA truth that you deserve. You are a young woman, and you deserve to know who your father is your entire life. And because of choices adults made, you have been left out here with no answers, confused, unsure, and feeling alone. So this is your truth to open. So here you go.
I appreciate you. Before I open these, I just wanted to fully make sure, I hope it's safe that you is my father. And if it's not, hopefully we can try to move on. With a better solution.
Just know I love you and we'll welcome you anytime into the family.
Myanna, Michael is your biological father.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry. I love you. You hear me?
Yes.
MyAnna?
Yes.
I'm gonna tell you something. In this moment, it's okay to let go. You have had to be strong and you have had to build up so much to protect yourself. You finally have clarity. You finally know. You finally can be validated. I can still see you holding on tight because you don't trust the world. But I'm telling you right now, you got your answers. So take a sigh of relief. Take a little bit of like, whew. Now, while you're doing that, good, I saw you take the first breath. Good, good. Michael, I need you to understand this. Listen to this. When your distrust happened, her abandonment happened. And there's something you kept saying. You said, "She thinks that I moved and started a new family and I keep telling her I did not." What I'm gonna tell you right now is from now on when she says that, never say no.
Say, "Yes, I did." Yeah, it's like, "Oh, I'm trying." Who wanna hear that?
No, no, no, hear me go. Hear me out, hear me out. The reason I need you to start saying, "Yes, I did," is because that is the truth. You did start a new family. And that's what continues to make her feel like I'm still gonna be out here alone. Because you not acknowledging the fact that yes, you did start somebody new. And when you can admit that, that's when she can start to trust that maybe you'll start being honest going forward. Right.
Myanna, from this day forward, whether you believe it or not, and like I said, my actions can prove it, I'm gonna try to put everything forward to make you understand that you are my daughter and I love you.
Will you give her the support she needs? All the time. She wants support. All the time. She wants you to call and check up on her. I got you back. But no, 'cause this is why we got her. I want you to repeat after me. Say, I'll call and check up on you.
I will call and check up on you.
I will be consistent.
I will be consistent.
I will acknowledge you publicly by putting your photo up on Facebook.
I will acknowledge you by putting your face You going on my Facebook. You going on the Facebook. This is my firstborn. I love you.
I love you, man. What do you wanna say to that?
I love you too. Can you hold her hand?
I'm gonna keep her.
Thank you.
Can I see your phone? Can I see your phone? I'm taking a photo of y'all right now. Get in close. You get in the middle. And you gonna put this on your Facebook immediately backstage. You hear me? No, sit down. Y'all can sit. Your makeup is cute, so girl, you putting on a little thing. Before you take it, no, you ain't gotta smile. What I want you just to do is I want you to take a deep breath. My tools for you is to breathe. To breathe. Now here we go. You ready? I'm saying this to you immediately. You look good. This can be healed. It just takes a couple of steps, all right? I wish y'all the best of luck. I'm glad y'all got your answers, all right? Thank you for calling the show. All right, everyone, make sure to come back next time, friends, so we can keep talking and growing. I love you all.
