My Ex Is Sabotaging My Marriage! | KARAMO

In this episode of Karamo, host Karamo sits with newly married couple Lorena and Aaron to explore why Lorena’s ex‑partner appears to be undermining their marriage. The conversation reveals a rapid courtship—Lorena began dating Aaron three weeks after finalizing a four‑year marriage, and they married within a year. Lorena admits she contacted her ex for legal reasons during her divorce but continued texting, later deleting the messages out of guilt. She describes feeling emotionally cheated and codependent, fearing she was betraying Aaron. Aaron expresses lingering distrust, citing evidence from Lorena’s ex about messages and meetings, and worries about potential flirtations. Karamo brings in a “Unlock the Phone” investigation: Lorena’s phone contains three sexually explicit images that were sent to Aaron, contradicting her denial, while Aaron’s phone hides explicit content and a video with another woman from 2024, despite his claim of honesty. Both parties deny cheating but admit to hidden behaviors. Karamo probes Aaron’s insecurities about Lorena’s bisexuality, and both discuss perceived flirty behavior. Throughout, Karamo highlights foundational trust issues, codependency, and unresolved grief, ultimately suggesting a healthy separation for self‑discovery before attempting to rebuild the marriage.

All right, so how long have you been married?
We've been together since January and married since June of last year.
Last year, okay. So you're about to come together on a full year together. Yes.
Everything moved pretty fast, but I don't regret any of it.
Okay then. How did your ex sabotage your relationship?
So I fucked up. I contacted her with knowing that Aaron and I had came to the conclusion that he was okay with me contacting her seeing that we were in the middle of a divorce.
Okay.
So in the middle of contacting her for legal purposes, we communicated a little bit more than just those legal purposes.
Did you say anything negative about Aaron in those conversations?
No.
How long did it take for you to shut it off?
Like 2 or 3 conversations.
3 conversations, okay then. And then, but my producer told me that you deleted the conversations.
I did. I deleted my phone calls and I deleted any text messages messages where I was trying to reach out to her.
So if there was nothing going on, why?
Because I felt like I had betrayed my husband. I felt like I emotionally cheated.
Well, at least you could own up to that. Did you own up to that pretty quickly or did it take you a while to own up to that?
I had told her, "Don't let him know that we're talking to each other. I wanna be the one to tell him." And quickly she—
Told him?
Yeah, she beat me to the punch. Oh, she's toxic. Yeah, she— threw me under the bus on that situation.
And you were in the middle of the divorce when you got with Aaron, is that true?
Correct. And him and I moved really quick.
How long after your divorce? You said quick. How long after your divorce did you get with Aaron?
Like 3 weeks.
3 weeks.
And it—
Don't worry about them. They judging us for this.
No, it's okay.
My messy producers are already telling me they got a timeline of your relationship. So I know this about to be messy.
Let's do it.
Okay, so January 22nd, started talking. January 25th, Hooked up and you moved in that quick?
Within the first week, we were already talking about moving in with each other.
Wow, okay then. So if there was only 3 days in between started talking and moving in, it tells me that there really wasn't a foundation of trust built.
There was. I mean, we, 'cause I was open and honest with him like, "Hey, I'm exiting this relationship. I am still legally married, but her and I are not actively together." I would disagree that a foundation of trust.
Only reason I was saying is because from January 22nd, to y'all have already on the Karamo Show. So that means there was some foundational issues that weren't there. And I appreciate your vulnerability of being here because I want you to have the space to be able to solve it so you can have a happy marriage.
Absolutely.
But when I see this, it just tells me that there was some key things of the relationship that were missed. You know what I mean? Okay. So your ex-wife confronted Aaron in March then divorced your wife, then you got married to Aaron a couple of days later. Okay. And I get it, in between then the relationship. So I can see that during the relationship you were already done with her.
Absolutely.
And so I understand that you were done, even though it sounds quick. Right. You were done. And so it just, but also this tells me that there wasn't a lot of time for you to heal and grieve a relationship you were in. Yes. 'Cause how long were you with your ex-wife?
For 4 years.
4 years. Why didn't you feel like you wanted to take the time to like sort of be with yourself and find yourself in that time?
It's fair to say that I'm very codependent. Okay. But on top of that, I just feel like I know what I gave in my last relationship and I didn't wanna stop giving that. And if it had to mean finding the right person to give that to, then I'm blessed that I met my husband.
Okay, I hear that. I hear that. I appreciate your own honesty and vulnerability about the codependency.
Love you.
Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you, man. Thank you for being here. Take a seat for me. So why did you decide to marry Lorena after 3 days after her divorce?
Just getting to know Lorena, I fell in love with her and she became my best friend, so I thought it was a perfect time.
Why did you propose if you lost the trust?
I thought it was something we could work through and maybe build our relationship stronger, our marriage stronger, and yeah.
And how's that working?
It's a little difficult.
Yeah. And why do you feel like it's difficult to rebuild the trust from your opinion?
Just 'cause I didn't think, there's a whole not being honest with me and being real from the start. Now I just have it in the back of my head that she's lying about something.
Got it. Can I ask you a question? Have you ever dated a bisexual woman before?
I have not.
You have not?
No, yeah, I have not.
Yeah, okay then. No, it's a very clear question because I think sometimes People don't understand how to have healthy relationships with someone who identifies as bisexual because if you have insecurities about one sex, now you start to play mind games with yourself about other sexes. And I'm not saying you're doing that because one of the things that I know about most bisexual people, they're probably some of the most loyal people because, you know, not all. Let's not justify that. Not all. But I ask that because also as a man, I'm thinking to myself, has there ever been a moment where you're like, well, could she be doing something with him or her as well? Does that ever pop into your head?
Yeah, no, it does.
It does.
Yeah.
One thing that I have explained to you is that identifying as bisexual or being into women, it's not that. For me, it's if I'm with him, I'm with him.
Mm-hmm.
I only have eyes for him. If I'm with her, then I'm all for her. I only got eyes for her.
So what exactly did the ex tell you? 'Cause you know that ex was messy for calling you.
Yeah, well, she showed me all the messages that Lorena and her were talking about and like the phone calls and that they're meeting up at the gas station. And she was saying other things that weren't really in the text. So I really didn't believe her on that part, but everything else was there, like proof right there.
So do you think Lorena still has feelings for her ex?
I feel like she does 'cause they barely went through divorce and they were together for 4 years.
Yeah.
I think that it's fair to say like, I didn't leave that relationship initially 'cause I wanted to, you know? I got cheated on. So with that, that was like a forced forfeit.
You told my producer you think she's too friendly in public. What do you mean by that?
I feel like she's flirty with like some people. I feel like that's not, I feel like that's cheating or like not cheating, but like.
Yeah, I get that.
Are you flirty?
I guess I can be. It could seem flirty, but that's not my intention. I'm just super friendly.
Okay.
Aaron, have you ever been married before?
I have not.
You haven't, so this is your first marriage.
Correct.
And did you not trust her the day you got married?
No, I trusted her. I just, like I said, I was hoping we could make our relationship stronger and build that trust again.
Did you hear me earlier when I told her y'all have some foundation issues?
Yeah. Okay.
And you agree with that?
I agree, yeah.
Okay then. How do you feel about the fact that she doesn't, she thinks you're cheating too?
I don't know how. I just, 'cause I'm loyal. She knows where I'm at all the time. And I'm not, I never talk, or she never found me talking to no girls or nothing like that, so.
Let me ask you just point blank, have you ever cheated?
I have not.
Okay then. Not at all. Okay. Do you want this marriage or not?
I do. I just don't think I, or it's just the trust.
I know how much he wants.
Well, I need you to hear this. Don't fill in the blanks.
Okay.
Don't fill in the blanks. Listen to what he's saying. But he's telling you right now he's having serious doubts. Talk to your wife.
Yeah, just with everything that I, 'cause I come to you and tell you everything I don't like and that I see you doing and you never change it. So it's just, I feel like you're not listening to me or you don't give a shit.
Do you feel like that happens a lot?
Yeah, I do. I feel like she justifies a lot of things, or like things that I'm concerned about or that I don't like, I feel like she justifies it or then I have to sit there with it and think it's okay. But really it's not. I don't, it's not.
Got it.
And there's things that I feel that he's justified too as far as like who you on your phone with or—
Well, you know what? Let's find out who both of you on your phone with. It's time to unlock the phone. Lorena, we unlocked your phone. All right, Aaron, you wanna know if Lorena is sending sexually explicit images or videos. Lorena says she is not. My Unlock the Phone investigator searched her photos and found that Lorena is not telling the truth. My Unlock the Phone investigator found 3 sexually explicit images in her phone, but they were all sent to you, Aaron. We have to make sure that we know. We have to make sure they know. Because the thing is that if we don't say that you sent them, you'll be like, Wait, how you ain't find the one she sent to me? So we gotta tell y'all, you know, I've been on the show for a while now, okay? So there was 3 videos sent to you, nobody else. How does that make you feel?
Feels good.
Okay then. Aaron, you wanna know if Lorena is having inappropriate communication with her ex. Lorena says she is not. My unlock the phone investigator searched her phone and found that Lorena is telling the truth. My unlock the phone investigator searched her phone and found that she has not been in contact with her ex and she actually does not have her contacts saved at all. Aaron, you wanna know if Lorena is having inappropriate communication with anyone else during your relationship. Lorena says she is not. My Unlock the Phone investigator searched her texts and found that Lorena is telling the truth. I'm so happy for you. What's going through your mind? 'Cause you don't look relieved.
Well, no, I knew she was like being honest and not talking, no, I believed her the whole time, I just—
But like you believe that, you need to believe too that I don't go out, I'm not getting special attention from nobody, I'm not, fulfilling myself sexually with nobody else. I don't look at nobody else. I don't want nobody else. I'm not attracted to women in that sense. Like, I'm all for you, puppy. I love you so much. I would not come out here and do any of this if I did not want my marriage. Like—
I hear everything you're saying. I really do. And I understand your desire to want to have a healthy relationship. But I'm also looking at your husband's face and I also read body language. And I know that most men on this stage, when they found out their women have not been cheating, have a completely different reaction. And so I'm not gonna fill in the blanks of what you're feeling, but I do know that that wasn't enough to make you feel secure. I do know that for sure.
I don't know if it has anything to do, but like this is a new phone of hers And then on top of that, just, I feel like there's—
This is one of many issues.
Yeah, exactly.
I got it. Well, listen, let's go ahead and unlock your phone as well before we get anywhere else. Are you worried about finding anything in his phone right now?
A little bit, yeah.
You are?
I mean—
Well, Aaron, we unlocked your phone. So let's go for it. Lorena, you wanna know if Aaron is texting other women. Aaron says he is not. My Unlock the Phone investigator searched his texts and found that Aaron is telling the truth. Lorena, you wanna know if Aaron is communicating with women on social media. Aaron says he's not. My Unlock the Phone investigator searched his apps and found that Aaron is telling the truth. Lorena, you wanna know if he, Aaron, is watching sexual explicit content on his phone. Aaron says he is not. My Unlock the Phone investigator searched his phone and found that Aaron is not telling the truth. Aaron has a hidden folder with sexually explicit content in addition to a video he made with you. There's one video from 2024 that appears to be with another woman that is especially explicit in nature. But if the timeline is correct, you weren't together in 2024.
Correct?
No. You weren't together. Or when were you just starting? That's when you were just starting the relationship?
No, we started in 2025.
2025, yes, you're beginning. So, okay, so, and it did show that you had viewed that video. So you've watched that video since y'all have been together, just to be clear.
I have gotten rid of all of past family photos because my ex is involved in those photos. Like, why can't you delete that? Like, why couldn't you? Why can't you? What do you have it for? I'm not enough for you? Well— And you're worried about me? Like, I'm it, I'm it. So it's like, we gotta get rid of shit like that 'cause those things are fixable.
Like, okay.
So you say those things are fixable. Yes, those things you can figure out a way to delete them. But what you can't delete is the fact that there are some, exactly what I caught within the first 5 minutes of you you being on this stage, clear foundational issues. I have seen it in the way your husband has communicated and even in the things you've shared with me. This relationship unfortunately has a lot of cracks in it. Your husband is unhappy. You are unhappy.
So what, are you gonna leave me 'cause you're not happy with me?
No, I'm not gonna leave you. I wanna—
So can I rephrase that statement? Instead of him, you talking about, are you gonna leave me? Why is the conversation with yourself? When am I gonna find myself? I want you to hear this again. Instead of saying, why are you gonna leave me? When are you gonna say, how do I find myself? One more time. Instead of you focusing on why are you gonna leave me? Why don't you say, when am I gonna find myself? Because your lack of ability to find yourself is the reason that you're reaching for somebody else to be with you. You are reaching for somebody else to make you happy.
And I get that.
Aaron, what would you like? What would you like? Please be honest with your wife.
I wish she would've found herself and like processed all that hurt and everything she went with her ex. 'Cause I do feel like it was just, she just jumped in a relationship with me to feel better or to not be alone. 'Cause now she crushed everything with me or like hurt me on the way. Doing this, so. Okay. And now I'm a mess and it's just, then I'm treating her bad 'cause I lost trust in her and now I think she's a cheater and all this other, so.
So do you think a healthy separation to find yourselves then to come back together could be an option?
I feel like this—
You feel like if I separate then I'm done?
No, no, I feel like we could do it together 'cause I do care about her, I do love her and I feel like 'Cause I wanna be there to support her and I don't want to like—
So let me say again, a healthy separation. I'm talking about separately being able to focus on yourselves so you can actually say, this is actually what I need from this relationship. Can you give me this? Are you healing?
If we can't trust each other when we're up each other's ass 24/7, how are we gonna trust each other when we're not around each other?
Well, I think you just answered your own question. If you want my advice, I think that you two should separate. I don't believe that either of you wanna be with other people. Hear me out, hear me out. And I don't mean to divorce. Hear me out, I don't mean to divorce. I don't mean to divorce. I don't mean to divorce 'cause I wanna make sure that you're hearing exactly what I'm saying. And so what I'm recommending to you is to be healthy in separation so that you can talk about the foundation that needs to be rebuilt and then hopefully come back together. If you stay together in the same space, I do predict, and I'm pretty good at this, Within a year, you will be divorced. And how I know I'm also right, when I said that, your husband shook his head yes. So I'm just giving you this advice because I want you to have a first step to keep your relationship. But if you don't go find yourself, you gonna lose everything.
