In this episode of KARAMO, host Karamo interviews Ariana and a second participant (Speaker C) about Ariana’s troubled engagement. Ariana recounts multiple red flags that emerged in her fiancé’s behavior, including repeated lying, discovering his Grindr profile, derogatory comments about ex‑girlfriends, and notifications from Facebook Dating, indicating ongoing secret dating activity. Despite these betrayals, Ariana stayed in the relationship, citing her deep capacity for forgiveness, vulnerability, and Christian values. The conversation explores why she chose to remain, the decision to remove sex from the relationship in hopes of fostering deeper intimacy, and how the lack of physical closeness (cuddling, sharing a bed) eroded their connection. Speaker C adds perspective on the importance of sex as a relational foundation and the breakdown of simple togetherness (lying on the couch). Karamo probes whether either party is “playing games,” leading to Ariana’s admission that her fiancé is indeed playing games. The dialogue highlights themes of trust, deception, forgiveness, intimacy versus sex, and communication breakdown in a romantic partnership.

So what were the red flags for you that popped up?
Just the lying.
So like tiny little things that you think are white lies adding up to you to say like, this is not okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Because I gave him 3 chances.
Yes.
The first time was when I found the Grindr and I was like, okay, if you say that you're gonna change and do what I ask, then I will give you another chance. Then the second time after that, he was, I talked to his ex-girlfriends and they were saying that he's a consistent liar. Always talking crap about them and being very, very derogatory towards them. And then the third time was when I found out that he had notifications on Facebook Dating. You don't have notifications if you're not on there.
Sorry.
Got it.
I understand. So there was like a lot of red flags that constantly were coming up. And then why did you stay though? I know you keep saying that it was vulnerable, but I just, because he was vulnerable and he was nice to talk to, but then why did you stay?
I'm a very forgiving person. I love. Very deeply and very hard. And it was hard for me to let that go because I really thought that he was the guy. I really thought he presented that to me. He showed that to me.
I kept trying and trying. And I was okay with you taking sex off the table. I really was. As much as I could be at that time, yes, I was very okay with it. But every time we got to a point where, okay, hey, we're both happy, we both feel happy, you took cuddling away. We couldn't lay in the same bed and even just talk.
Because of tensions. You know what I believe. You know that I'm a Christian woman. You know what we're supposed to do.
And I understand that.
So if you couldn't do that, then you should've said that.
But if we can't even just lie together or sit on the couch next to each other.
You're impatient. Why did you take sex off the table?
Because I wanted to have an intimate relationship, not just be about sex, always having sex all the time.
I feel like a relationship is more than that. I feel like a relationship was built off sex. A foundation of sex, you take that away, your house crumbles.
Well, the house already crumbled.
Do you think Ariana was playing games with you?
I do not, no.
Good.
I felt that—
Do you think that he's playing games with you?
Oh yes.
I felt the first time she broke up with me, it wasn't even really breaking up, we were just talking. She was like, you know, I'm not over my ex, I just need some time. I was like, that's okay. And then we started dating and then she's like, you know what, I feel like we can't be together. That is okay. If we are broken up, let me go be broken up. I'm gonna go have sex.
