In this Karamo segment, host Troy interviews Christina, a 10‑year‑married wife and social‑media influencer, about a recent TikTok crush she pursued online. Christina explains that feeling emotionally isolated and unsupported by her husband—who rarely expresses affection or acknowledges her beauty—drove her to seek validation through a fleeting online connection. She describes the crush as a “TikTok crush,” a brief, attention‑seeking interaction that she kept hidden because of poor communication in the marriage. Troy acknowledges the couple’s long‑term “build mode” focus on goals and admits he could do more to show love. The conversation highlights Christina’s need for public affirmation, Troy’s emotional reticence, and the tension between striving for shared life goals and nurturing emotional intimacy. The segment ends with a typical Karamo call‑to‑action encouraging viewers to subscribe.
So tell me about that online relationship you had.
Oh man, it's just a TikTok crush. It wasn't, you know, anything too crazy. I mean, like anyone that would find someone kind of attractive on TikTok, you're like, "Ooh, I'm gonna follow them." Then you see that they follow you back and you're like, "Oh man, they must kind of like me," you know? Well, at that time I was like, you know, really emotionally just overwhelmed. I felt really alone. Troy's not very, like, he's not a very emotional person. There is lack of, like, attention for me. You know, when we first got together, he was like, I mean, I was his everything. And over the last, you know, years of being like, you know, a mother to his children, I just felt like I didn't have, like, that support from him anymore, that love. Like, you know, he's never, not once, told me I'm beautiful through our 10-year relationship. [Speaker] Really? He doesn't like post me on social media and that's what I do. I'm a social media influencer. You know, I post myself so I can have like, you know, feedback from people to know that I'm a good person. I had a like really rough growing up. So like, you know, knowing that I can do something in my life and come from nothing makes me feel really good about it.
Yeah, I understand.
You know?
Do you wish that Troy would've found out about the online relationship from you?
Honestly, no. Probably not, just because we're not very good at communicating. I think that it would've like been more, it would've been really hard for me to bring that up. It was something that I was kind of trying to hide, you know, something that wasn't, I was being sneaky and I shouldn't have been, but at the same time, I just like really needed attention at the time.
Well, were you thinking about him at all during that situation?
I was thinking mostly like, you know, this is wrong, guilty feelings, but at the same time I felt really good, you know, I had somebody showing me attention, somebody, you know, talking me up. Like I said, we've never been on a date. He's never like called my dad and said, you know, can you please watch the kids so I can take Christina out? True, is that true?
Yes, to an extent. But I think a lot is left out in the aspect of it kind of goes back to my working and my working shouldn't be my excuse and I should do more. But we've been kind of in this build mode in our relationship for 10 years now. You know, we started with nothing, you know, and It's really been like a mission to reach goals, you know? But just because you're building doesn't mean you can't tell your wife she's beautiful. Hold up, hold up. Where are you going?
