So, have you ever heard of natural parenting? Well, basically, it's when a stepparent is wondering what their boundaries are when dealing with their stepchild. Listen, if you are the stepparent, it is not your job to figure out what your boundaries are with a kid. It is your job to go speak to the biological parent and say, how do you feel about me doing XYZ? It is their job to say, hey, this is what you can do, what you can't do, and maybe that will change later, but right now, These are the boundaries. But also, and this is key, include the kid, let them be heard. Because I remember when I had that, my mama boyfriend come in the house and he was trying to be cool and I'm like, I don't want to get to know you. I might have wanted to, but they didn't give me an opportunity to feel like I was being heard and that I was being seen. So, talk to your partner about what the boundaries are and never forget to include the child as well. That's how you create a happy home. And I'm Karamo, and that's my take.
