Old School Mom Kicks Teen Daughter Out | Karamo Reacts | KARAMO

In this episode of the Karamo talk‑show, host Karamo mediates a heated confrontation between 18‑year‑old Samaria and her mother. Samaria recounts being repeatedly kicked out of her home, placed on probation, and forced to couch‑hop and even sleep with men to survive after her mother’s “old‑school” discipline escalated to emotional and verbal abuse. The mother defends her strict rules, calling Samaria disrespectful and labeling her behavior as “manic” and destructive, while an aunt reinforces the mother’s stance. Karamo repeatedly interrupts, challenges the mother’s parenting style, calls out the audience’s misguided comments, and provides context about teen homelessness, the trauma of police involvement, and the need for external support. He urges Samaria to seek school counselors, social workers, and community resources, emphasizing that the burden of emotional regulation lies with the parent, not the child. The segment ends with Karamo condemning the mother’s aggression, highlighting the systemic failure to protect vulnerable teens, and offering practical advice for at‑risk youth.

You're very disrespectful.
Yes, I am.
You don't know I—
Yes, I am. Tell it.
I'm your mother. You're not my mother.
Well, you not act like a mama.
You're at the age of 18. That makes you partways grown. Not all the way grown. As long as you in my house, there are rules to follow in my house.
But I barely be in the fucking house.
Thank you.
In my house.
I barely be in the house.
I barely been in your house. So now you want to act like the two times I was in there, now I got to follow your rules? Girl, bye. Samaria, tell me about your mother kicking you out.
Okay, when she kicked me out a few weeks, it was just, I woke up that morning, I was very tired because I always take care of my 2-year-old nephew. Like I'm always taking care of him, doing everything for him when that's her responsibility.
Okay.
Which I just had a deceased niece that passed, so she's real up and overprotective about him. So I woke up that morning and she walked in there, she was like, "Well, get up and take your nephew to school." But she's not doing nothing. So I'm like, "Why you couldn't do it?" She didn't even say much. She just started arguing with me, yelling, then she called the police.
I think all of y'all got this wrong online when y'all watched this. All of y'all comments were wrong. Talking about old school parenting, it's what we need, all this stuff. All of y'all got it wrong, but we can watch this together and I'll tell y'all how I really feel.
Usually when she called him, she tell him I'm not supposed to be there, so I got real scared.
You said usually when she calls him, so this is a recurrent?
She called him all the time.
On you?
So when she called him this time, I knew she was gonna try to, oh, she not supposed to be here, send her there, send her here. But this time I had been and got put on probation.
So I need y'all to remember that anytime a child tells you about things that they went through when they were a kid, like, "I was in probation," yes, children have choice, but they are children who need guidance and they need someone to be there to show them what to do, to show them love, to make sure they feel secure enough to be honest, to know that they don't have to run away. These things, there's a lot of factors. Of why kids misbehave. And so a kid having police on them, all of that is wrong. I just want to make sure y'all had that context because y'all was in the comments talking about, yeah, she's too unruly, she ain't doing this and this. I want to have context. A child. So you sent my producers the video that you said you took that day. Um, can I see it?
All she did was kick me out this morning because I didn't want to wake up and feed my nephew. And I got the messages. I've been living here for months. I called y'all yesterday and told y'all the same that she keep doing.
Yeah, that stops today. Okay, but let me talk to the police officers right quick and unrecord me.
No, now I don't appreciate you lying, so I'm not gonna unrecord.
I don't want to be on social media, that's why I'm not gonna post it.
I'm just keeping it for my record if I get in trouble.
Yeah, ma'am, y'all come in.
Okay. I was very triggered by her coming to the door and switching up. I want to act one way when the door is closed, but when the door it open and people in front of it, then they want to be like, I'm just so sweet, and, um, and yes, this is, um, I just don't know what's going on. No, girl, stop. Get the same energy you just had when the door was closed.
Oh yeah, that's my stuff.
You said there was a— your police being called and all this stuff.
So yeah, like, she usually called them a lot, but the only reason she started calling them was because they put me on probation. After they put me on probation, she just called them every time.
Like, what are you on probation for?
Okay, my mom, she be putting me out.
Did you hear that? My mom puts me out.
Around the time that I was 17, when she first put me out, I had to go sleep with a man for somewhere to go.
And I had to sleep with a man for somewhere to go. For all y'all talking about in the comments, she really— imagine being a kid getting kicked out and having sleep with somebody for somewhere to go. Ugh. You know, I'm over y'all. I'm really over y'all, because how y'all was in the comments.
Okay, that man, he slept with me that time and he didn't give me anywhere to go. He put me right back outside after we slept together. That made me real uncomfortable, because I slept with you to have somewhere to go, and now I still don't have anywhere to go.
Let me go to the comments. I want to see the comments, because that's what I more preferred about it. I already know what I'm going to feel about this. Let me go to this thing. They can still keep talking. I'm going to find that Karamo show. And where are you staying right now? Okay.
Okay. I'm like basically couch hopping.
She said, I'm couch hopping still. And y'all know how old she is? Sometimes I think y'all see this girl, think she's 25, she's 30. She's still a kid and talking about she's still running the streets. Oh, so hold on. On YouTube, y'all have some sense. Oh, on YouTube, y'all had no sense, not gonna lie. The way the mama did not care about her child having sex. Oh my gosh, so on YouTube, I take everything I said back. On YouTube, y'all had sense. It's the other people in them other comments that had no sense. You know what, I take that back. Thank you, Mike, for letting me know that y'all did have some sense. So I'm back open, 'cause I was over y'all for a second. People talking about I hate the old school, thank you. Oh my gosh, you're not ugly, you're beautiful. This is what I'm talking about, encourage her. Oh my gosh. I need to go to YouTube comments. Okay, good. I was so over y'all for a second because I remember when this video had came out, y'all were really online acting like y'all was on this mama's side and I was over y'all. But Mike has just saved all of y'all and now we still have a relationship and we still friends. 'Cause we weren't gonna be friends for about a week. I just wanna let y'all know that. It was a wrap for about a week between us. But now we're back. Sorry, forgive me, it's my bad.
If I'm put out, I'm your daughter, you love me. Why you don't care about the fact that I don't have nowhere to go? Why you don't care about what may happen to me while nobody, you know?
Could you just tell me that your mom did know when you were 15 that you were sleeping with men to get by?
Yeah, she knew that.
She did know that. Do you have an Aunt Shalonda? Mm-hmm. Let me hear what she's saying.
Karamo, I'm telling you, you got your hands full with Samaria. I'm not gonna let a child disrespect me the way that Samaria disrespects her mom.
You kicking me out at 15, telling me I'm a hoe, doing all this stuff? No, uh-uh. That old school antiquated. Because you're my parent, I still gotta love you and respect you is dead. We're not doing that no more. You don't wanna respect me. You don't wanna show me love and security. Then I'm going to have to find community that's going to love me, heal me. And I'm going to— I don't need to be disrespectful to you, but I'm gonna learn to walk away from you. What do you want from your mom today?
I want for her to understand me. I want for her to talk to me better. The way she's talked to me like bitch, hoe, I don't want her doing all that 'cause I'm a bitch and hold you right back. Like, I'm gonna say the same shit to you, so it's gonna forever be conflict. We gotta learn to fix the problem. And another thing, like, she be calling me ugly. I don't think she know that that make me feel some type of way. Like, I be feeling like that shit true. I feel like she don't love me, but that's why we here.
I like that blouse on her though.
Hey, Karamo.
Hey. I like her hair too. Everything that was just said.
You very disrespectful.
Yes, I am.
You don't know.
Yes, I am. Tell it.
I'm your mother. You're not my mother.
Well, you not act like a mama.
You're at the age of 18. That makes you partways grown, not all the way grown. As long as you in my house, there are rules to follow.
Thank you.
In my house?
I barely been in the house.
I barely been in your house. So now you want to act like the two times I was in there, now I got to follow your rules? Girl, bye.
The reason for me putting you out—
what's the reason?
And it is towards me.
What's the reason? What's the reason? You're putting your daughter out.
Regular though?
You have destroyed—
Regular, not just when we're arguing, when we're going through it on a regular basis.
You have manic behaviors to where you destroy property. I do not have to tolerate that from you.
Do I have manic behaviors because you—
Baby, I'm old school raised. You understand me? Old school. I could stand up.
See all this, I'm old school and all this, all this aggression and intimidation. Stop all that. Stop the aggression, stop the intimidation, and then don't be surprised when she come back at you with aggression and intimidation, especially since you've been kicking her out.
How you talking right now? You don't talk like that at home. When I get in trouble, I talk—
I'm not going to use any profanity on this show. Me as a character. If I call her bitches—
I call her bitches. You heard her.
Hoes.
I'm just being honest with you.
That's what I do in the heat of the moment.
So normally on our show, we do sometimes see mother and daughters who use very colorful language. And I actually appreciate that more. And I say this in the sense of, that's real. I'm all about transparency and real emotions because when I see that, I'm able to give you some type of tools to help you to be better. When you try to hide and pretend who you really are, that's what gets me. This goes back to when the police were at the door and she turned into this whole other woman like, I don't know what's going on. And I hate people who do that. Keep the same energy you had every day, every minute when people around because people need to see the real you and need to see why you kicking your 15, 16, 17, 18-year-old daughter out and forcing her to sleep with men. And yes, I use the word forcing because if you are not encouraging her to be in your house to keep her safe, then yes, you are forcing her out and having to survive.
I do want a relationship with her. Yes, I do.
I mean, it's hard to believe.
Your daughter says something, and this is real. She said, "I want you to understand what I've been through, what I'm going through." Do you think that you ever take the time to really to understand what she's been through?
I have took the time out to understand her and what she goes through.
Yeah.
But to be honest with you, that's some fairytale stuff.
No, this ain't how they talk to each other at home. Everybody know this not how they talk to each other at home. She just said I call her bitches and hoes when I'm at the house. And you see these tears streaming down this little sweet girl's face? Your little baby has had those situations and those situations are traumatic.
They are.
15, she didn't understand that. And as much as she's nodding her head, tell your mama what you've been through.
Yeah, like, and it ain't even just like, it's like I done been through a lot of stuff. Like it's a lot of stuff you didn't tell me that I was supposed to know. I'm supposed to know? You ain't never came to me and sat me down and told me how I was supposed to be as a woman or anything like that.
I don't think the mother received anything that was said on this stage. I'm glad that the daughter was able to say her piece. I believe that this mother has her opinion set about her daughter and how she parents and she believes it's right. And she's being reinforced by her sister, the aunt, telling her that this is how you gotta do it and this is how you gotta be. And so instead of having people around her saying, hey, maybe evaluate your actions when it comes to your teen child, She is instead acting as if like, this is what I'm supposed to do. This is how it's supposed to work. Thanks, Karamo, for telling this girl she a child. I'm not taking you away. This is not your fault, and it also does not have to be your story. It's not gonna be your story, girl.
I'm gonna commit to this. I can't say I'm gonna not have them talk about you because I can't control anyone's action, so I'll be—
I can't say— I can't have anybody talk about you. Girl, ugh. This triggers me. If you're 15 and if you are in this situation where your parent treats you like this, the only thing I can suggest to you is like, if you're still in school, please talk to like your school counselor, social worker. Because if your entire family has created an opinion of you in their mind, unfortunately they're not gonna be a safe space for you to go to to talk to. You always have to be able to be in control of your own security. And that's so sad. I'm so sorry. But what I would encourage you to do is find people outside of the home that can help you and can get you real resources. I want anybody who's 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 to know that there are resources. You don't have to live on the street. You don't have to sleep with men. All right, good luck to y'all. All right? Thank you. So when you have a parent who goes into that heightened emotion, you know, we want is for children to say, well, they're the child to like control the emotions. But it's not the job of the child to control the emotions. Is the job of the parent to control their emotions. So I don't really have advice for kids because kids are going to feel, they don't know how to process what they're feeling. And especially with this type of emotional abuse, you just can't, I don't have tips for a child whose brain is not developed to say, you know what, in this moment, walk away, find it. Like, of course, that's the thing we wanna say. But if mom is screaming at me and I feel unsafe and I feel like I gotta protect myself, they're gonna do what they need to do. And I understand why. And I think we have to start remembering that it's about the parent. Now parents, why are you getting yourself to some level? And how do you walk your ass away and say, you know what, this is not for my child. My frustrations is for me to talk to another adult about and then figure out a solution to come back to my child and speak sweetly, kindly, and with love with. And even in my most aggravated moments, you gotta speak with love.
