The Messiest Divorce Drama Of All Time | KARAMO

In this episode of KARAMO, host Karamo mediates two volatile family conflicts that culminate in a dramatic, forensic‑driven showdown. The first segment follows Raquel and William, whose marriage has collapsed amid accusations of infidelity, substance abuse, and physical violence witnessed by their children. Karamo brings in a phone‑forensics expert who unlocks both partners’ smartphones, exposing hidden messages, dating apps, and evidence of drug use. A lie‑detector test is administered, confirming many of the suspicions. A DNA test later reveals the true paternity of their youngest child, reshaping custody discussions. Throughout, Karamo balances tough questioning with empathy, urging both partners to own their roles in the breakdown. The second segment features Eddie, Candace, and Eddie’s mother Juanita, where similar themes of betrayal, hidden communication, and parental influence surface. The episode ends with Karamo guiding each couple toward shared responsibility, outlining concrete next steps such as counseling, legal advice, and safety plans for the children. The narrative underscores how technology, forensic evidence, and skilled mediation can surface truth in the messiest divorce scenarios.

Nope.
Okay.
Everything he does is a lie.
Are you cheating on him now? No. Okay then. So you saw that he cried when you looked at your wedding photo. How did that make you feel knowing that he was crying when he saw your wedding photo?
It made me feel good 'cause I know that the love is there and I know that the love is genuine.
I love you unconditionally, man.
Yeah, you told me the second week you met me, yeah.
I do two things.
The second week when I come home. I love you so much the second week I come home.
That's right, 'cause I knew I found the person I wanted to be with and that I thought in the beginning was gonna be genuine throughout until those incidents came up.
But you had a girlfriend when we met, but when we met you was asking for.
Yeah.
With a girlfriend.
That wasn't my girlfriend.
But you just said it was.
That was a one-night stand. Okay. Well, William turned over his phone because he wanted to unlock his phone. And so, Raquel, you want to know if William has been on any dating sites. You want to know if William has any explicit photos on his phone. And not the pfft. And then if he's communicating with any other women. Raquel, I gotta ask you, what's on the line?
Well, you know, he know what time it is. I done told him before, baby, I got the papers. I keep 'em ready, baby. They stay in the side drawer. You know what I'm saying? I ain't got no kids by him. I don't owe him nothing.
Okay, so I heard you say that earlier. I thought you was joking. You really keep divorce papers in the side drawer? Yeah, she got a pair. I seen 'em.
But he said he didn't see what I'm saying.
But hold on. Why you got divorce papers? It's as if you're hoping that this would fail.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
I don't know how long she got married.
How long have you had them? About six months.
Six months. About six months into our marriage or six months ago?
Mm, backtrack. Six months.
You know, July, what happened at six months ago that made you say, let me get divorce papers?
Cause he always show up bright and loud in front of other people and. And then he speak his truth.
Like what do you mean? Family, friends? He will talk about your relationship very boastfully or like aggressively?
Yes.
And then when he's with you, you don't communicate?
Shut down. Walk past me. I might talk Karamo and turn around and he gone.
We don't have communication. We have very poor communication. So why is it that when you're with other people, you're able to communicate about the relationship but you're not? 'Cause they ain't all down my throat like she is. Okay. What is he saying?
So he talks about his other woman. That they died and all this stuff together. He talk about the other one.
So he talks about exes. Okay, so it's not that he's talking about your relationship when you're around, when he's out with other people. He talks about things that you find inappropriate.
Yes.
Okay, I understand.
Yes.
Quit asking inappropriate questions then, you won't get the answer that you asking. Come on now. So are you asking? No. Are these prompted?
Uh-uh.
Okay, so, but when he's home, you're saying there's no communication with you? So what do you mean? Are you asking him about his feelings, what he wants in relationships? What are you asking him at all?
I love just what he said, pick his mind. It's not picking his mind, it's just wanting to know what's in there.
So when she asks you about yourself, do you open up? Sometimes. Why sometimes? Because it may not be the answer she looking for. You know what I'm saying? I told her once, I love the person that I am. I love the way I'm built. You know what I'm saying? It may not be the way that you like, Yeah. But it's the way I like. Understand. This is the way I am, this is the way I'm built. I get that, I get that. And you should love the way you are, who you are and as you are. But my question is, is are you, why are you not able to open up? Because if you're in a relationship, in a marriage, you have to be able to communicate. Man, I haven't been down that road, man, to where I don't been hurt so many times, man. I just rather be shut off. Got it. You know what I mean? I'm just, I'm tired.
You gave him a reason.
Uh-huh, I get it.
I don't wanna be hurt. It sounds like past stuff though. It sound like he put me with the past. And he's not allowing us to live in the future.
That does what it sound like, but we are about to unlock some phones to see if that past is in the future or in the present. So it's time to unlock the phone. William, it's time to unlock your phone. Because you wanna know if William is on any dating sites. Williams said he is not mind locked the phone. Investigators searched his apps and found he's telling the truth.
Finally, finally, finally, finally, Finally.
Man. Go ahead on with that, y'.
All.
Raquel, you wanna know if William has any explicit photos on his phone? William says he does not. Maya locked the phone. Investigator searches photos and found that William is. Zero. Telling the truth. Zero.
You a zero.
All right, Raquel, you wanna know if William is communicating with any other women. William said he did not. None. My lie detector phone investigator searched his phone and found? None. He's telling the truth. None. I'm that guy. I'm that guy. You know what I mean? All right, so how do you feel knowing that we didn't find anything in his phone?
Lame.
Uh-huh, lame?
He lame. I mean—
You want him to show you something? Lame?
Absolutely not.
Then what do you mean? Like you—
He's not giving me anything.
Uh-huh. So you're saying—
I get nothing.
So you're saying even the bad, even the bad would be something for you because you feel like it would give you some type of energy.
To work in, to work through. Yes, yes.
It's misguided, but I understand what you're saying. Okay, thank you. It's misguided, but I do understand what you're saying. Well, Raquel, it's time to unlock your phone. Yeah. Yeah. Well, William, you wanna know if Raquel's communicating with any other men. Raquel said she is not. My Unlock the Phone investigator searched her texts and found that Raquel is not telling the truth. What? Get the fuck outta here. Investigator found two conversations with a man named Baby. Who the fuck is Baby? Ooh, excuse me. Who the hell is Baby? Baby says, "When are you free again?" "I can get out now, boo. You ready to see me again, baby?" So that's what you be doing in the car then? Okay. So this, this. So this one says, "Call me on this number. I'm out and about. Call me when you get a moment, all right?" Ain't this a bitch? Okay. All right, I think I know exactly who the hell that is, man. Okay. William, you wanna know if Raquel is on any dating apps? Raquel says she is not. My Unlock the Phone investigator searched her apps and found that Raquel is not telling the truth. Raquel has two dating apps, Singles and Kendra G Singles Dating, downloaded on her phone as recently as August of 2024. Why you married, man? Why be married, man? Real talk. Why be married, cuz?
I don't do nothing to you.
Nothing. I don't do nothing to you, bro.
That's the problem.
That.
You do nothing. You do nothing.
You know what?
You're mundane. You know what?
You're mute. You know what? You can have all that noise, man. You can have all that noise.
Okay, period.
You can have all that noise. William, you wanna know if Raquel has been direct messaging with any other men. Raquel says she is not. My Lock the Phone investigator searched her DMs and found she's not telling the truth. Man, the phone.
Damn.
My investigator found 94 DMs between Raquel and 3 different men. And these were after you were married as recently as a year. "Love you, you're looking sexy." So this one was in January 2024. "Yeah, ma'am, so you ain't gotta get—" Man, get the fuck outta here, bro. "Let this warm you up." Really? Uh-huh. "Give me a blank oyster and food here." So we have the messages. That's how we living? So these are all— That's how we living, man. Really vile like, bro. Excuse my language, man. No, you're fine. You just found out your wife is not being faithful, so I understand it. So these are all the messages that we found. 4 years, dog. 4 years. 3, 3, 2, 1, whatever.
Right, zero.
It's going, it's down the drain. It's going down in the DMs. But Raquel, it's interesting because I've been tracking what you've been saying and you're saying, I'm gonna give you these to look at backstage. You're saying that you want him to fight for you, but your actions have proved this relationship isn't worth fighting for.
I don't want it, man. But this is the last year. All this within this year.
I think when I asked you the question earlier if you are in love, you said you're not in love anymore. You even brought divorce papers here. Mm-hmm. So you brought divorce papers here?
The same ones he told me that I never had.
Yeah, so the fact that you brought 'em here, and you know you're a very intelligent woman, So you knew we were gonna find some in your phone. And so this was sort of the last nail you needed in that coffin to say, "I'm done." Absolutely. Because you know he's done now too. Mm-hmm.
It's not a problem.
William, what do you have to say to Raquel? I ain't got shit, bro. Once again, he got nothing. It was a pleasure meeting you. You're out of this relationship. I hope that you actually take those divorce papers, y'all end this relationship. Relationship and y'all move forward and you find what you need in life. I really do wish you the best of luck. Thank you. I'm gonna ask you to leave the stage so I can have a moment with William. Thank you. Thank you so much. I'm glad you got your answers. I think you already had your answers in you before. I have given my all to women. I should be living my best life by myself. But I choose to be in a relationship. So hear me out and this is what I need you to know. I do believe there's a woman out there that's going to value you. But before you find that woman, you gotta do some work on yourself. And that work does not start with shutting down. It starts with opening up. Okay? I don't want you alone and I don't want you shut down. Okay? You deserve love and you deserve happiness, but you've gotta do the work to get there. All right? We actually have a ping right now from Kia's mom, Felicia.
Yes, I don't like him because of how he do my daughter. And how he treat her. He needs to move on and let her be happy. And the kids are his, and I'm 100% on that. And about the cheating, he got to be cheating because she don't cheat him. She do not cheat on him. She love him to death, and he should do that same thing. If he can't do that, he needs to pack his bags and get the hell on. Yes, and one more thing, who beats they wife in front of people and pull her hair out like this and have her crying and doing all this crazy stuff? You damn right he need to move on. She love him too much, baby, don't let that love break you down. Move on.
Oh wow. Wow. So you admit that you do beat on her? Nah, I don't beat on her. Okay. And she'll tell you that, but ask her why I That's why I hit her. So hold on, 'cause I'm confused. You said, "I don't beat on her," but then you just said, "I hit her." Yeah, I hit her 'cause she hit me. She would just jump on me, of course. You think I'm just gonna let you put your knee in my chest and just drill me out? No.
But that's the thing I don't get. I understand, yeah, I'm wrong for putting my hands on you, but you also wrong. But you can't just say, "I put my hands on you 'cause you made me." You a fucking man.
I be trying to walk out what you do, do, Kia. I be trying to walk out what you do.
Okay, but you walking out in an argument Okay, but if we trying to work stuff out, yes, you right, it don't supposed to get physical. We two grown people. Sit there and talk about it.
Right, talk about it the right way. Okay. Communication is key. That's what I'm trying to tell you. So what happens when you argue exactly? Like, he's got a gun?
Not every time. Not every time we argue.
'Cause I heard you say earlier that the police were called.
When he got out of prison, he came back home a totally different person. Like, totally different person. But I understand like, You know, I understand like this.
If you went to prison. This is what it was when I was in prison though. Like, fucking jumping on her every day. Beat her every day. She ain't gonna tell that. See, you ain't gonna get the whole part of the story. When I was in prison, ask who she was with. A dude doing her worse than I did her. When he was in prison, you were in an abusive relationship?
I wouldn't even call that no relationship. Like, the dude, like, he was staying there and he was helping me financially. Yeah, that's fine, that's fine.
I just didn't catch what was abusive. So what about outside? I'm not there, so who helping her now with financials? 'Cause I'm not there.
I went and got my CDLs. Is you not telling? I went and I'm trying to do something.
I wanna go back. Do your kids see you fight? Hmm? Yes. Do your kids see you actually fist fighting? That why I'm like.
Like he don't see the fist fighting, but only thing, like if he see us raising our voice, like he'll come, my 1-year-old, he'll come, jump on me, he'll hug me, but you know, his daddy be like, come on, Junior. He'll be like, no. Like, I feel like if we can't be adults for our children, then what are we doing?
'Cause you said earlier that you have one other child, and I think I remember the child's 13. Yeah. The child's 13. That's mine. That's your child? Yeah. Your child is 13. I got a little girl, she 9. Okay, does your 13-year-old child live in the house with y'all? Yes. Does the 13-year-old see Y'all physically fighting?
He don't see it, but he hear it. He hears it. Like he done woke up and he looked me in my face like, "Ma, what happened to your face?" And I'm like, "Nothing." Because you have like a black eye or bruise on your face?
Yeah, it was swole. Okay, it's swole. I'm ready to get to the paternity test. I'm ready. I'm ready. I already know what's up. Okay, listen, in this envelope we tested both of your children. Here's the DNA outcome from your oldest child. Are you ready for this? You go ahead and open this.
Now after this, now I don't wanna hear no arguments. Dead. It's dead. You ready?
You really, I told you what I'm gonna do.
There you go, baby.
What does it say? Okay. He the daddy. Unbox it.
He the daddy. That is your child.
He the daddy, y'all.
He the daddy. Oh baby. I'm ready to catch you on flour noodle.
All right, here we go. This is the DNA outcome for the 7-month-old child that you have. What is the child's name? Imariyah. Imariyah. Are you ready for this? Here you go.
Is you ready?
I'm ready.
You the daddy. Yeah, you need to put that— you need to put that— can you keep them?
Yeah, you can keep them.
OK, what the other name?
Where the other one at? I want him to put them in the frame. Frame them, baby, 'cause that's the end of it. How do you feel about these results? I feel happy. You feel happy? Yes, sir. Okay. So now I ain't got no reason to doubt in my head no more. No more. So now I can like, is she willing?
Boy, I still want to see them, your damn children. Yeah. You know that.
Okay. But you know, if we willing to make things better, I'm willing. Okay, I gotta tell you, so the reason that I got flustered right there and I got a little confused, I don't know if you can see see a shift in my attitude is because certain things trigger my own personality and my own sort of things within my life. On my show, I've been talking very transparently about the fact that I grew up in a house where my mother used to wake up, I used to see these bruises on her face. And for me, it just brought me back to thinking about me as a child waking up in a house where I saw my mama and daddy fighting, where I see bruises on her face, and I'm thinking about these kids that y'all got in this house. I don't know what has shifted, but the reason I had to get to these DNA results to see if this is, because there's a bigger issue here. There's two people that are supposed to be co-parenting, supposed to be in a marriage that are hitting each other, that are hitting each other and now have kids in the house that are witnessing this. Yeah, that's bad. It's bad. Yeah. And so as much as I wanna celebrate this, I'm so happy that y'all have the answer to this, there's a bigger issue here. Yes. You came from an abusive relationship where you were getting hit or we don't call it a relationship, whatever it is, situation.
Well, my momma the same way, like. Getting hit.
Yes. What's going through your mind when you hit her back? Because I understand that. I feel bad. Like, if she'll tell you, like, I don't like the argue or nothing. Like, when we get into it, I be like, baby, okay, you win. Stuff like that right there. But like, I see that like, that's make her mad. You know what I'm saying? So she'll take off on me. Sometimes I run, she'll try to hulk me down.
Like, she'll make me mad. No, what pisses me off is the fact that you know for, you know damn well like, I ain't sleeping with nobody.
Yeah, I don't wanna derail from the fact of the matter is that we're talking about abuse that your children can see. Right. So I understand we can go into all the semantics of what happened here. At the end of the day, I need to get to the core and some give you at least one step to figure out how y'all can walk off this stage and stop putting your hands on each other. Right. Because what I don't wanna see is that this generational trauma then go on to a third generation where now you just said you watched it in your house and now your child watches it and then you start, you become the grand— Yeah, my 1-year-old, like— We've been going together for years. He fight. Talking for years. Like she said, like, she was in a abusive relationship when I was in prison. Like, when I got outta prison, then when I had to start put my hands on her 'cause she would— But why? Because that's, I know, but what can we do with it? You go to the hospital. Like, I can show you right now, she just stab me, like, with my heart in. I'd hate to stop her, like, if she would've just went on through. I would've been a dead man right now. Why are you fighting so much? What's going on? I took him to the hospital. What? No, no, no, no, no, no, no. I'm not gonna joke with you right now. I'm not joking. I did. Yeah, I get it. I know you took him to the hospital, but now I know the coyness of that statement and I know it's shocking to be like, well, I took him and there's like a funniness that you probably shared that story before. But for me, there's a big issue of a young beautiful woman right now who has to be a mother to these kids that watched her mother get hit. Why are you fighting right now?
I don't wanna fight him. Like, I don't even wanna argue with him. I just want all of it to stop.
Do you think that you have the strength to walk away when you feel like you're being accused?
Yes, if it ain't alcohol involved, I can walk away.
Got it, okay, how often do you drink?
I don't, not, I push back 'cause like, once I realized, you know, that I had to put my big girl panties on and deal with the situation instead of drinking it away, I push back.
Got it. There's a lot of pain that you've been experiencing your entire life. Yeah. You ever talk to somebody about it? Nope. Do you want to? Kinda. You're not ready? Yeah, I just don't wanna be judged. You don't wanna be judged? Nope. I get it. This is why a lot of people come on this show 'cause they know I'm not gonna judge 'em. And because the things you're going through, I've been there and I'm never gonna judge you. And so everything you say, and most people at home not gonna judge you either. No one's gonna judge you. Because we understand and we see the pain of going through. I also understand for you, you just got outta prison, so something must happen and I understand. No, it ain't nothing happen. You just gotta be aggressive anyway. But like I say, like we've been staying in the house for 7 years, you know what I'm saying? I did like 2 years and a half in prison, but like.
And when he got out, like this is like his first time.
I was just aggressive, but I did not put my hand on her. Would you allow your sons to be in a relationship like this? No, sir. You wouldn't? No. So then why? If I have to put my hand on a woman, I tell her that all the time. If I gotta put my hand on you, I don't want to be with you. So can you walk away? I could walk, I do it all the time. All the time. But after, like— When he walks away, that triggers you? Yes. It triggers you? Yeah. Do it all the time. You didn't fight before you went to jail, right? No, we never fought until like I got outta prison. Like, and she could tell you like when I got outta prison, like, I talk, but like, I ain't never put my hands on her. Mm-hmm, I understand. But like she said, she get drunk, get to drink. Yeah. I wish that y'all didn't have to come here for the DNA outcome because there's a bigger issue here that it could really be detrimental to y'all lives if y'all don't get this under control. And I wanna help y'all to figure out who to talk to so y'all can talk to someone to figure out how to deal with this so y'all can both be able to walk away for yourselves as young, beautiful Black folks and also for these babies.
Will you take them? Yes, I will. Thanks.
That's all I can do. Is it true that you pulled off her wig in public? Yes.
But that's when we first got together.
A couple times we were together, I used to want to see her real hair. And I used to say, I'm gonna pull your wig off. Now, you a Black man now. And I just pulled it off. I pulled it off. I'm asking you rather than Brother David. I pulled it off because when I pulled it—
To do that in public, that's some That's humiliating. But she made me mad. And then at the same time— That's the type of stuff that you should've did behind doors with your mom.
She made you mad, so you wanted to humiliate her, so that's why you pulled it off.
Yeah, and at the same time I was messing with her. I said, I'm pull your—
I tell her first, I'm finna pull your wig off.
But you don't, you never take mom's feelings into consideration. Like you don't think that hurt her? Humiliated her to have that done to her in public in front of her friends? To everybody whether they knew you guys or not. Like, that's— listen, my wife, her mama is stronger than what she's saying. She is. Yeah, her mama is a strong woman, but she— that's why when me and her be doing that, that don't really phase her. Yes, it does. I don't think so. You don't think so? She don't let you— she would never show a sign of weakness to you because she is a strong woman, but deep down inside, that hurts my mom. To hear my mom on the phone crying and saying how you treated her and disrespected her, that breaks my heart. But she do that with y'all on little arguments. It doesn't matter how little or small it is. You're hurting your wife. Do you drink a lot?
Yeah. Okay. So there is substance abuse issues? Drinking. Drinking, okay. Eddie, thank you for telling me 'cause I need just to get your side of the story so now I have a very clear picture of everything. But now I think it's time to talk to your mother Juanita and get her side of the story. So everyone please welcome Juanita to the show.
He has no reason to believe other than something in his head 'cause he has no evidence.
Well, I heard earlier that every time you think she has somebody new in her phone that you buy her a brand new phone and make her change the number.
Yeah, because she, she stopped being on the phone with me. At night. You do. That's wrong. That is really wrong. For real. I've never heard of this.
You ever cheat on her? 'Cause you a ladies' man. You ever cheat on her?
I ain't cheat on her.
I swear I ain't cheat on her. How many ladies you got calling you? How many ladies you got calling you?
I ain't got no problem.
You gotta have a lady. You came out here with this smooth watch. Let me talk to you real quick. You came out here with this smooth watch, this hair. I know you got a bunch of ladies talking to you. How many ladies you got talking to you?
I love my wife, but still. I love you too, but the disrespect and the controlling aspect. You got some girlfriends. That player type. That type. We argue every day. We argue every day. Listen, it's important that you know, tell the truth. If somebody talking to you crazy, you gonna talk to them crazy.
No, I'm a little more involved.
That's what she do, she'll sit up and talk to me crazy. But he started. He started all day, every day.
He brought you here to unlock your phone to see if you're cheating. Fine. How'd that make you feel?
I don't mind, 'cause I'm not.
You didn't mind? Mm-hmm. And what do you hope? You think you'll catch her cheating? If I, if, yeah. You think you'll catch her cheating? I'm not gonna really be, I'm gonna just be real. I'm gonna be grateful and thankful to God, but I'm gonna be in a deep thought about her all over again. Why stay married? I tell him all the time.
Lately it's gotten so bad because we argue. Every day. Every day. Yeah. Everywhere we go, Karamo. Yeah.
Do you drink every single day? Yeah, I try to. See?
I try to. It's so bad. I have something to say. I'm my mom's daughter too. And it's really to you, Eddie. First thing I wanna say is, Eddie, you haven't fooled me since day one. I seen those red flags before y'all even said I do. I was supportive when y'all got married. Y'all picked me up on the U-Haul. I partied with y'all and everything because I also thought too for a second that y'all getting married would make things a little better. But from the day you said I do, it has been 10 times worse. But really the red flags was there before even I said I do.
What were the red flags you saw before? Talk to me about it.
Eddie just being all the time accusing my mom. He even accused my mom with her son, with, and my brother, Keith's like 20-something years old. Her friends accused my mom for sleeping with my husband just to start turmoil for my mom coming over my house. I live in Pennsylvania with my mom. My mom— Eddie, is that true?
You accused her of sleeping with her daughter's husband? Is that true? I've seen her do some things. So that is true. That is true. I've seen when we was in Dallas.
Okay, okay. My mom catches the bus to my house. She gets dropped off by the police to my house probably like every other day. 30 days out the month, they fighting 28 days. And like I said, you wanna say we're not in it and this your wife? Well, that's my mom and I was here first and you put me in it.
We ended up unlocking both of your phones. But we've just heard that every single time you do something, you get a brand new phone. But I don't do anything. I know, I understand what you're saying from his perspective. So my unlock the phone investigator went through both of your phones, researched your apps, your text, your GPS, and there was nothing to be found on either of your phone. So I'm going through that quickly because that's not a concern of me and it shouldn't be a concern of y'all's either because obviously as adults, we already know that he's already controlling the phone situation. So having it unlocked here is just for show because you already know what's going on her phone. You get it on your phone every single day. Yeah. Yeah. Yes. And he don't ever know what I— But there was something that I thought was very suspicious. I didn't understand how it was that your neighbor kicked in the door and now hearing you, you said that you left the door unlocked for this neighbor you're sleeping with. That's true. So that's what happened. Okay. That's true. So, and I hear you, but for me there's inconsistency 'cause me, I'm all about tracking stories. Yeah. You know what I'm talking about? Tracking facts. I'm all about facts over feelings. So I asked you if you'd be willing to take a lie detector test so that we could get to the bottom of some truth of this. 'Cause I really want to know, and this is a good gauge for me of where I'm going with this. Our lie detector examiner asked Eddie, regarding the damage done to the door, when it was broken open, are you in any way responsible for any of the damage? And you said no, that you are not responsible in any way for the damage of that door. So I wanted to unlock the truth of this matter. What do you think this truth is gonna tell me? Is it gonna tell me that you did nothing to do with this door?
Nothing to do with it. They left that door unlocked. Okay.
Well, the truth is, Eddie, that you are not telling the truth, that you were the one that damaged that door. I knew it.
I ain't break that door down. How dare you do that? I had children. I had small children in the house.
Them lying, them lie detectors lying. You messed up their—
Them lying, for real, them lie detectors lying. What about the safety for my kids? So now welcomes you into my house?
My question is, what else could you be lying about? Eddie, let me tell you something right now, brother. I'm a fair person. I gave you an opportunity to come out here and tell me your side. I did. And from the beginning, you have told me your side and what you believe. The picture that you painted for me from outta your own mouth is that you humiliated her at the beginning of your relationship because you felt hurt, that you said you have been verbally abusive, that you said that you don't mind controlling her, that's why you take the phones. These are your words, I only wrote it down.
Well, listen, bro, it's not that I try to really be that way to her, I'm like that with everybody.
You said— That doesn't help your case any. On top of that—
Thank you, thank you so much.
You said you got substance abuse issues. Now I gotta talk to you right here because you have your two daughters right here that are pleading. I see the pain, I see their body language, and I see that they're worried for you. Hearing you go through things like you have to get in the police cars, you are scared to tell your man that you're going on a trip with your daughters. Yes. Breaking doors, setting lawns on fire. Yes. Your daughter is not lying what she says. This is dangerous. Yes. Love has been outta this relationship for a very long time. I think so too. You know it's true. Yes. What is keeping you in this relationship? I'm hoping he'll change.
But it's gotten to the point we argue every day.
Well, Juanita, I gotta ask you this. You can't listen to that crowd, honey. Juanita. Juanita. Yes. I'm watching him do what he's doing at home and I'm gonna say this to you. The same way you just said you can't listen to your daughters, you said you can't listen to the crowd. Next you gonna tell her you can't listen to me. Because people can be influential.
That's why he's saying wear a hat.
And that's what I'm saying, they be like, I know what's right. Well, let me tell you, that's part of control, is you want her to only be influenced by you. But I don't say nothing like, when I say, when they talking about control, I'm talking about the way we eat, the way we shop, go places, stuff like that. It ain't controlling like dog, sit down, and that type of control. Yeah. So because your definition is limited in what control is in a relationship, I just, well, we used to having to think a certain way and they wanna be around us. Being controlling in a relationship doesn't mean that you just only command someone to do one thing or another. It also expresses the way that you treat her, the way that you express her to be in relation to other people, the way that you allow her to live her life, the way that you interact with each other. Other. Control is more than just commands, and you have exhibited control in everything that you have done with her. Do you understand from that definition how you're controlling? Yeah, you do, 'cause you're a smart man. Hey, I, I don't— I still don't think I'm controlling.
I think I'm better for Juanita.
I need to know, can we switch spots with your mom for me? Yes. Thank you. Because This is beyond any talk show we're on now. Your daughters have come here because they're pleading for your safety.
Right. I understand.
This is your daughters that are pleading for you.
And I've been trying to get out and I'm going to get out.
That's— What is stopping you from getting out? I have— 'Cause she with a good. That's what's stopping her. I'm gonna ask you— I have love for him. I'm gonna ask you right now. I'm gonna ask you a clear question before I go any further. Do you, you're not in love. Do you want to end this relationship right now or do you wanna stay in it? The answer is leave or stay. Leave. You wanna leave? You wanna leave. A lot of it is me sitting at the end of the bed. I'm an injured worker. I have a bad back and a bad neck. I had 300 pounds of rebar struck me and really injured me pretty bad. So I can't sit up in a bed like a normal person. I sit like this normally.
He does it all the time though.
All the time, yeah.
And there's nothing to hide. He leans back in the bed and looks at his phone. But then when he knows there's something gonna be there, he turns his back.
Is that true?
And goes up to the edge of the bed and leans over.
I don't try to hide anything. I just go to the end of the bed to check my phone. If she ever wants to sit next to me and check my phone for me, I'd gladly give it to her anytime. No, you don't. Do you really delete messages on your phone? I only delete—
Yeah, you do.
Text messages that are like old, you know, like Verizon shopping things like that that send me text messages. Yeah, Verizon, give me a break. You don't buy any of that.
No, I don't.
So for the record, Have you ever cheated on Candace? No. Not once? Not once. Well, I wanna see what the audience has to say about this. Y'all got some comments? We're gonna take it to the comments real quick. Period. Come on, tell me what your thoughts are.
Girl, I'm sorry. Candace, if he was married to someone when you first met, you already deserve better than that. Like, give yourself some credit and give yourself a backbone because you need to get outta there. You need to get away from him.
In all fairness though, in all fairness though, you did make a choice as a grown woman to get into a relationship with a man that you knew was getting out of a relationship. Sure did. So sometimes I feel like the insecurities that come up in us is like, especially the way we get 'em, sometimes the way we lose 'em. So that will start to come into your mind.
Yep, I agree. Just saying.
But that does lead to a bigger question. Why are you not divorced yet? Seriously. The reason why is because I'm waiting for the paperwork to be finished. Should be done in 3 months.
6 years of this. 6 years. That is an excuse. 6 years.
So why are you not divorced? Because there's, it can't be paperwork because you could get this done.
He wants his wife to pay for it.
Can you see how you being married could be affecting the trust issue that you have in a relationship? I don't see why it would. Because if I have one foot in and I have one foot out, at some point I'm gonna not know what direction my man is going on. So just let you know, I found out, my producers are always on it. We found out that the filing fees for divorce in Washington State is only $280. I'll give you that myself. Thank you.
I will. Thank you.
Because my only goal here, my only goal here is for y'all to have a healthy relationship. So if that could be a piece that would get you a healthy relationship, brother, I'll pay that myself. So what is your response now? My response is I'll get a divorce. That never stopped me, you know? It never— But you said it was the fees, so— Yeah. I'm going to pay the fees for you. Okay. So will you get a divorce? I will. Tomorrow? Yeah. Okay, you heard that. Candace, do you believe it?
No, because I'm always told one thing and it's always another.
Well, listen everyone, it is time to reveal the unlock the phone results. So we look for DMs, apps, and text messages. When it came to DMs, Candace, we found zero DMs. When it came to apps and any suspicious behavior in your apps, we found Zero apps. When it came to text messages, Jason, you specifically wanted us to look for messages between you and two other men. We did find three messages, but those messages were actually found from you, Jason, consistently accusing her. So these are your text messages to each other. You say, "Why do you treat me like this before I have to go to work?" And then you say, "All I did was ask a question." Yeah. And then you say, "No, you started to blame me for everything." And then you said, "I ask a question?" And then you say, "Yeah, but you still talk to him behind my back and that will never change." Which is not true. So you are still concerned and talking to her about these two people. Yeah. That we went through the phone and there was nothing suspicious or any messages with these men in a way that could alarm us in any way. Did you check Facebook Messenger? We checked them all.
They checked it all.
We went through DMs, we went through everything. And you gotta remember with our phone investigator, we do go through things that have been deleted as well. Yep. So we see now that a lot of the accusations are coming from you. I've been burnt in the past. Yes, so have I. And so is she. And I understand that. She's had a lot of people that have treated her like crap. And I never wanted to get to this point. I never wanted to come on a TV show and tell everybody.
Yeah, you did. You're the one that called.
Yeah, you're absolutely right. You're the one that called. This is the final straw. Yeah, it is. Because I'm tired of being blamed all the time. All right. Well, Jason, now we have the results of your unlock the phone. Jason, here we go. So we checked DMs, apps, and photos. Photos? Yep. When it came— Yeah, we checked photos. Okay. Whoops. When it came to DMs, we found 3 suspicious messages from other women on Facebook. Yeah. Yep. You wanna explain that to her? Yeah, because women DM me all the time.
Yeah, you interact with them too. No, I do not. You're adding them and going through their TikTok.
I erase them because I know they're gonna keep getting onto me. Every single time they DM me, I will erase it. All right, when it came to apps, we found 22 sexy TikTok accounts that you are engaging with. Engaging? Like talking? Following, following back, commenting. She followed a lot of the women on my page. No, it ain't all those.
Only put 4 on your phone.
Well, the rest were there before we even got together. That's fucked up. No, it's not. Sorry. All right, well listen, we're gonna continue on. When it came to photos, we went through to look for any sexually explicit photos. Uh-oh. We did find 100 photos. Wow. Now the sexually explicit photos, yes, we went through, were between the 2 of you. Of course. Yeah. There was a lot of, I didn't see him sending any explicit photos to anyone else. Or anything else. There was, in those messages, there was ones where you sent your photo though to other women.
Really?
I sent my photos to someone? Yeah, I have one in there.
Really? Can we see that one? Wow. Wow.
Wow. So here it goes right here. Thanks for the compliments. Can I have some pictures of you?
Oh, of course.
So these are the messages that you sent. Who? And this one's from Instagram. Where a photo was sent and it was liked, but we can't see what it was.
Oh, that was my best friend.
I didn't even know they were friends at the time. Oh yeah, you did. Why would you send a photo to a friend? 'Cause she asked for a photo.
She already knew you, why would she need a photo?
Yeah, I know that, I don't, freaking, I don't know. You all came here 'cause you want my opinion. Yeah. It's unhealthy and Very unhealthy. You two are grown, grown folks dealing with the things that I've talked to clients or guests about who are in their 20s. Instagram, Facebook, these things, sending photos. The lack of trust, I already see where it started. It started from the way that you all got together. You were in a relationship, you were in a relationship. That already sets off you on a path of unsteadiness, mistrust from the beginning. Because it's like, I already think, like, I already know what you were doing with me when I had a wife and you had a boyfriend. We were flirting and talking to each other. And so that mistrust has grown beyond that. And you all are just in a cycle of accusing each other over and over again. Yeah, over and over again. You're with this, no, you're with this woman, you're with this woman. What needs to happen is if you really wanna stay together, because I can already tell that I could tell y'all to break up, y'all not gonna do it. There's a codependency here that's not gonna happen. I could see that. But if you want to get back on the right path of trust, you gotta be able to look at her and say, I'm sorry for accusing you. I'm sorry for self-sabotaging. "Hey, I do apologize to you, and I'm sorry for that. I don't want you to be hurt. I don't want you to think that I don't love you either." Commit to doing more.
"You gotta do a lot more. You gotta pick up the pace.
You got to." Hold on, we're back on you now. We back on you now. You not writing this either. "I know." Okay. "I know.
I've done my part." Because at the same—
Because at the same time you say you want this, you love him, you say that I need this, you're accusing him left and right too.
Well yeah, because I have reasons too. Right there just told me.
In the beginning you didn't have reasons. I didn't see anything in his phone where he's actually slept with someone. And so you have to understand that you can't accuse him either and make these things and say, oh my gosh, you're sleeping with every woman out there. You're wanting to stay. I do. You're wanting to stay. So if you're wanting to stay, then you have to say, "I'm not gonna keep accusing you either." I'm not gonna keep accusing you either. You know, at the age of 12, my mom had me texting a man that wasn't my father. What do you mean when you say she had you texting a man that wasn't your father? I guess this is the man she was cheating with? Yes. And what would you be texting? Just odd words. But basically how I know it was a man man was because I was reading the texts. The text message. And certain words she couldn't spell, she wanted me to spell it for her. Yeah, and so you would see the relationship that was going on. Exactly. Knowing that your mother was in a relationship with someone else. Yeah, the whole time I'm reading it. Got it, got it. And what happened once when your dad found the evidence? My dad basically moved on with his life. How long were your parents married at that time? 27 years. 27 years. Wow, okay, 27 years. Before the show, the producers met with your mom, Tanny, so let's take a look at what she had to say.
My son Jeremiah is a compulsive liar. He lies to make him feel better about himself. Jeremiah was spoiled. He was rotten. He was devious, yes, and still devious. I don't think it was Jeremiah's place to tell Dad Mom cheated. It wasn't his business, and it was not true. Jermiah did say I didn't raise him. I don't know where that came from, but both of his parents was in the house. I have 3 kids, and I am a great mom, a good mom, an awesome mom. But Jermiah's the one I'm very concerned about. He is the only one I have problems with. I am very worried and concerned that Jermiah is still doing drugs. I want Jelmya to get a job, stop lying, and respect me.
How does that make you feel about what she said? [MASKED] What do you want most from your relationship with your mom? I want my mom. Like, I truly want my mom. I need her to act like a mother. I don't need her to act like an enemy. And what does act like a mother mean? Nurturing, you know, what a mother's supposed to do. You know, you're supposed to be there for your son, you know? So I gotta ask you this. When was the last time you hugged your mom? Here you go, brother. I don't even know the last time she told me she loved me. Like, I know she love me. I know she do. But it's the way you gotta show it. Like, tough love. It's just the tough love, man, it's just, it's kinda strong. I said a million times on this show and I always teach people, love should never be tough. And this is nothing to bash your mother because I know 'cause I don't know her and I haven't met her yet and I want to hear her side. But I know sometimes when we experience stuff in our own childhood and that's the way we are raised, we think the tougher I am, the tougher I am on you, I'm showing you that I care. But what we realize, and especially through what you said, you said, "I need nurturing." You said, "I need support emotionally. I need encouragement." Those things are the exact opposite of toughness. And so I think sometimes we forget that, that love shouldn't be tough. But I think that it's time to talk to your mom 'cause I really wanna hear her side. So everyone, please welcome Tanny to the show. Tanny, thank you for being here. Hi. I see that you're crying as well. Yes. I know you heard a lot of what was said backstage. And I want to hear your side, but one of the main things your son said is that he need more nurturing because it was tough love. And I witnessed you come out here with your tough love, but your son is crying and you're crying. Do you know how to show that nurturing love right now? Yes, I love my son. Do you feel like you can do that in actions? Yes. So what does that look like for you?
I show my love to my son every day. I might go tell him, How him?
I don't know him. What could it look like in this moment? What it look like right now?
What could it look like?
Love. Could it be a hug? Yes. Yes. Was that a little hard for you to do?
No. No. Okay. He's not a hugging person. He's not. He's not a hugging person at all. Yeah. Okay. No. I tell him I love him.
I'd ask you, do you blame Jeremiah for— My marriage? Yeah.
No, I don't blame Jeremiah for my marriage. I think Jeremiah should have stayed in a child's place.
Right. Now, I'm glad you said that. I didn't mean to cut you off, Mom. How can you tell me stay in a child's place?
A child's place 'cause I had you texting stuff.
Yes, Mommy did. Okay, so you can't say that then.
I did not know you actually went to Dad and say, "Dad, Mom cheating on you." I never told my dad that.
Yes, you did.
I was sitting in the backyard.
I know exactly what I told him. And your dad came back there. Mom, hold on. I told my dad, to go through your phone? No, no, he didn't. No, I told my dad that.
But I didn't either have, I had my own phone, so he couldn't go through my phone.
Exactly, he got your reaction. No, he didn't get no reaction, son.
Mom, can I ask this?
I mean, it's just very hard. How did you expect a 12-year-old to keep a secret? Exactly. Pardon me? How did you expect a 12-year-old to keep a secret?
I guess I wasn't thinking. Yeah. I was not thinking.
Yeah. No. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I get it, I get it. Now, I can say this. If he wasn't my dad, of course I would've never told him. It's my mom. But you gotta understand, I'm in a tough position. You're my mom, this is my real dad. So for other people on the outside that heard about it, they can't even say nothing about it because they not in my shoes because these are both of my parents. If I would've held that moment and not said nothing, I would've been hurting my dad 'cause I know my dad is a good man. Yeah. So in your opinion, what is the root of the problem?
The root of the problem with me and Jeremiah, Jeremiah's hard-headed, he don't listen. Mm-hmm. Jeremiah's aggressive too. Like for instance, if Jeremiah wish to call me and say, Mom, come give me take, Take me to get my hair cut. I will come, but I won't do it right then and there, but I will take him. But before we can get back to his destination, we done got into an argument about something.
Mm-hmm, right.
And what do it be about? 'Cause you not doing what you supposed to be doing. Well, do I supposed to? Get out there and get a job and take care of Jeremiah. Mom can't continue to keep holding your hand.
Right, you take care of me, right?
Yeah, I'm doing what I can help you out. I mean, you doing whatever you doing, but I'm there.
What's taking care of somebody?
What you mean, what's taking care? I don't mean I have to jump every time you tell me to.
I didn't ask you that, Mom. I said, what do taking care of somebody mean to you? Helping you. Can you tell him right now what you love about him?
I love who he is. I mean, I guess it's so hard for me to grasp onto Jeremiah because the way Jeremiah talks to me. And I wish our relationship would be like that.
She's not telling a lie about that either. Oh, I already knew that. I already knew your breakdown of communication. Boundaries, communication, the first thing. But again, these two things broke immediately at that age. Exactly. But again, Karamo, go back. 'Cause I asked you what you love about him and you said, well, I just, you know, I like Jeremiah, I love Jeremiah. You don't have specifics. And what I'm showing you is that has to be worked on. Yes. Because if you want a shift in the relationship, there's a little 12-year-old boy that still is looking and reaching out for the nurturing of his mother. When you came out here and I got you to hug him, he didn't want to let go. See, in that monitor right there, I could see his face and his face did not want to let go. It didn't wanna let go.
He don't have to let go 'cause I'm not gonna let go of him. Regardless what he do, I'm not gonna let him go.
I know you're not gonna let him go. You not, but eventually I'm gonna have to let you go. I'm gonna give you a homework assignment. I'm gonna give you a homework assignment. Can you be more nurturing and just in one week, I want you to say 12 nice things about each other? Yes, I can. And I want you to hold onto that hug as long as you can. As he needs it. And I want you to be responsible of telling her, Mom, I'm gonna be better. You understand? Say, Mom, and this is the language I need you to use, Jeremiah. Mom, I don't need you to see me as who I was before. See me as now. And this goes from 12-year-old you to 24-year-old you. So we gonna start right now. Say, Mom. Mom. Please don't see me as before. Please don't see me as before. See me as now. See me as now. Okay. And Mom, what I need you to do is say something nice to him and give your baby a hug.
I love you. I love you too.
Were you married when you all got married? It was supposed to have been a divorce. Yes. But at that time, if I would've known it wasn't, we would've never got married.
You knew you wanted a divorce. No. Stop telling that lie.
Okay. I had sent the money up there to Atlanta.
He was supposed to make sure she did the right thing.
She said she was gonna do the right thing and do what she had to do. And didn't do it. Okay. So what's going on with the girl from Taco Bell? Nothing. Nothing at all? I don't even know the girl. Okay then. And then this picture that we sent, is it of you? How you feel about that picture? I have never been with another woman, Karamo. Okay. Never. Never. Never. Never at all. Never at all. You know, I lock my phone, everything. You won't see nothing in there. Okay then, why, why?
Okay, you like this whole relationship, you don't touch me? We go long months without, months without having sex.
If you getting accused of cheating all the time, you ain't gonna be in the mood.
Well, you should make me feel that way. You ain't got to worry about me saying nothing if you were true. You treat me like a woman, Po Beachy. I can come home. That's the God honest truth. If you constantly cheating on me.
You don't have to worry about none of that. You cheated all the time, constant 24 hours a day.
No, it's not, not all the time. You was not cheating on me. I'm done with that now. Okay. Nothing's going on. If you didn't make me feel that way, Lord, no.
I'm gonna tell you what it is, Karamo. Nothing is going on. I have never conversated with another woman, none of that. Well, that's not technically true because you do have a child from another woman.
Exactly. And then he swear he hate her so bad, but he be messaging her on Facebook and all that.
Have you heard of the fact that she's telling people that she's having another child by you? Yeah, he know. Yeah, yeah. So you know that she's saying that? So, what happened? I confronted her too. Okay, what else? On the phone.
Yeah, you got that girl fear. Did that girl fear you? She know what to say. She know what to say. 'Cause I feel like that lady would've never said that. She might not be pregnant, but she be letting me know he be coming over there.
I never been over there.
She wanted me to know that he been creeping over there.
That's the only time I have ever been over there is when she was pregnant.
I'mma tell you, Karamo. Okay, the baby, right? I would never keep him from his child, Lord knows I wouldn't. But the little girl badly mess with him. Okay, ever since the baby birthday party last year, we go to the party, right? Oh, he up there snapping pictures of her mama. No, she was— Yes, you do, tell the truth.
She was right beside her mama.
I would never disrespect you. Like this?
She was right beside her mother, so I was taking pictures.
Okay, he could have been taking pictures of that little girl, right? By herself. He taking pictures, got picture full of, phone full of pictures of her mama. Only her mama? I feel like that's disrespectful. Only her mama? And the baby? Yeah, and her mama. And the baby mama mama. That is one stop. Okay, okay.
They right beside each other at the time.
Well, I don't care, that one right. At the moment she was— What do you want with that girl in your phone, for one? I don't want her in my phone. Boy.
I was just taking a picture of myself.
I would've assumed you were taking it like you were a photographer.
So why did you tell Deena there was mustard in your underwear? 'Cause at the time when I was on the bed of my truck, I was eating mayo and mustard that night.
You ain't say nothing about no mayo. This man ain't say nothing about no mayo now. Lord have mercy. Man, you a mess. Yes, it was. Oh, you doin' it wrong.
I have never messed with another woman. You are a liar. Never.
You a liar. Never. You can't make that up, Karamo.
I'm the one that called the show. Okay. Yeah, but when it's too late. In the moment where your woman is telling you, I feel insecure about a situation, why wouldn't you just say, listen, there's no other woman for me. I only wanna look at you. I done told her that. I done told her that. Okay, yeah.
You're asking his, I don't care what he said.
Hundreds of times. I done called, I done told her that hundreds of times.
I don't care what he say. I don't care what he say. 'Cause he acts totally different. It ain't matching up. No, no, no. He acts totally different. This man been leaving me off and on ever since we been together. If you really love somebody, you will sacrifice for them. He left me while I was pregnant. He come back home and he went again. And then he come at home and now he on the road. I'm tired, I'm tired, I'm drained, I'm emotionally, spiritually, all of the above, I'm tired, I'm really tired. And he know that. That's why he brought me to this show, 'cause he know I'm through with him. I am, I'm through. Trying to get him, man, so many chances, he still. Hurt me. I don't try to hurt you at all. That ain't right.
You might not try to, but you do. I did not hurt you at all. I don't try to hurt you.
Y'all, come on, man. You a straight manipulator.
How old is the child you have together? He's 5. 5 years old. Okay then. Are you a good father? Yeah. Great. Sort of. Sort of. Okay, what do you mean? Tell me.
Sort of, 'cause he don't need to spend time with his other children, for one. And then I be telling him, I haven't been without my baby for 5 years. He never gave me a break or anything. He don't never say, "Huh, baby, go get your nails done," or nothing. I keep telling the man, "I need a break, I need a break." He don't even give me one. He the father. He supposed to get help me. When I come home—
He's supposed to help me. When I do come home—
No, no, you don't. You gone. I tell you all this at home, even before you even call this show or anything. You know we been going at it. He did last past year. 'Cause I been telling you I want you out my life, man. 'Cause you done drained the hell out of me. Oh, I'm sorry. No, you fine. But he have. And I feel like he called your show because that phone he got, he ain't had it but a couple months. But I wanna know what happened 17, 18, 19, and 20. And he know y'all don't have access to that. Yeah. Nothing. Nothing at all. I ain't no fool.
Well, since you brought up the phone, it is time to unlock the phone, so, you know. Deena, you told our Unlock the Phone investigators that you want to know if Sean was using any dating apps, if he's sexting members of your family, and if he's talking to any other women. Sean, we unlocked your phone. All right, so Deena, you wanna know if Sean is using any dating apps. Sean says he is not. My Unlock the Phone investigators searched his apps and found that Sean is telling the truth. We didn't find any dating apps. Deena, you wanna know if Sean has been sexting any members of her family. Sean says he has not. My Unlock the Phone investigator searched his texts and found that he is telling the truth. We didn't find any explicit message between you and the family members. Like I said, that's all. Deena, you wanna know if Sean has been communicating with any other women. Sean says he's not. And my Unlock the Phone investigator searched his DMs and found He is telling the truth. I told you, I told you. But hold on, let me say this. Hold on, for years. Let me stress this. Let me say this. Hold on, let me stress this. So what our investigator did also share with me is that this is a brand new phone. Yeah, exactly.
That you've only had for a few months.
Exactly, exactly. I will say this, and I'm not here to accuse you. I'm not here to accuse you. I don't know if you noticed I have not tried to accuse you. Because I don't want to accuse you just based on what she's saying. And what we have found, nothing. So let's be honest about that. But if there's been a history of years that she's expressing, you've been together 12 years and you have a brand new phone, it doesn't give us much to be able to search, but it also doesn't create a foundation of saying, well look, in the past years that you were in question, here's the truth. We don't have access to that. He knew that. You also want us to unlock her phone because you wanna know if Dena was communicating with other men. Dena, we unlocked your phone. Actually, we did not because you refused to unlock your phone.
Because I feel like I ain't gotta prove nothing to him. 'Cause I tell him the truth about everything. I am 100 with this man. Only thing I ever asked for him is just to treat me like a woman should be treated. If we got kids together.
That's the most important thing.
And you can't even be the man of the house though.
Yeah, I can. Yes, I can. If you wanna know my opinion since you called the show, the phone is new, but this relationship is old and it's time for it to end. And that is the truth. That is the truth. There's nothing here to hold onto. You all would have an opportunity to live happier and healthier lives apart. Yeah, apart. And the thing with sometimes in unhealthy relationships is when someone else is your anchor, You forget that an anchor also pulls people down. And this relationship is doing nothing but pulling you all down, even though you feel like she's the one that's holding you down. No, I don't feel like that. Well, when I say holding you down, I don't mean like pushing you down, but being the one that's saying, okay, I'm here, I'm gonna still keep up with you, I'm gonna still put up with things, I'm gonna still be there. But she's telling you she's exhausted. So my question is, is that why? You're not happy. You're not happy and you have an opportunity to be happy. You have an opportunity to heal, to be with someone who's gonna wanna talk to you, who's gonna wanna have sex with you, who y'all are going to wanna engage in these things. Y'all are both in your 40s. We're still young. You're not old. You get an opportunity to still live. This is not what it has to be. You don't have to live the next 40 years unhappy, sad, arguing, crying. Stop holding on. You gotta be real with yourself because she is being real with you. Don't hold on anymore. I wish both of y'all the best of luck and I will remind you, you deserve happiness. Seriously. Thank you for calling the show and I hope this resonates with you because if you keep holding onto this, all you gonna do is keep holding onto something that's unhealthy and tearing yourself down. Time to build yourself up, all right? And give her an opportunity to build herself up. All right, I wish y'all the best of luck.
Good luck, all right? Because when I filed for divorce, the whole boyfriend thing, I don't have boyfriends. I don't have an emotional connection with anyone else. I go— But you have a physical one with him. I do, you're right. And I— You're right, I do. Yes, sometimes I do drink. Yes, I do frickin' do stupid stuff. But every day I wake up and I'm putting the grind on for my family and my children. And sometimes I come home and there's, hey, guess what, I went out with so-and-so and, He's way better in bed than you. You've said that. I've never said that. Nope, I've actually said the opposite. I've told you the opposite.
So you've never said to him that other men are better in bed than you?
I've never said that, nope.
Sean, I wanna know from you, what do you think is missing in your marriage?
Everything. I mean, yes, he works, and kudos, but when you come home and you have to take care of your children, he doesn't do that. He doesn't clean up after himself. He thinks that a divorce, I think a divorce might be good, but then it's just gonna be me being a single mom. He doesn't take 50% of the help now, why would he take it then? He will emotionally detach himself from us, and then I will get angry and physical, and then it just, he tells me he loves me, and then it just starts all over again.
It's a huge loop. But you haven't said you're done either, so.
I think I pretty much put in He just owned that I was done when I filed for the divorce papers.
Did you file? Yes, I filed. You filed? Yes. Yeah. Okay, and what happened?
He was advised by his lawyer not to leave the house.
To not leave the house, why?
Well, I mean, we own the house together and she said once you leave, you're leaving your domain and she could change the locks and she can have— Because he doesn't wanna take care of the kids 50%. No, it's not that at all. No, because when you're with me, when you're at my home, your bills are paid, your kids are taken care of, your dishes are done, your laundry's done, everything's done for you. You don't wanna grow up. When I met you, you still lived with your parents.
Rocky, do you wanna save this marriage?
Of course I do, but we can't continue to do this this way. We gotta continue. I'm, I'm done. Got it.
I'm done with this. I got a question for you. She said to you, she just needs you to look her in the face and say that I'm sleeping with other women. She said she just wants the honesty. You wanna tell her right now you're sleeping with another woman? No, 'cause I'm not. Have you in the past slept with other women?
No, I haven't.
So you're telling me this entire time you've been on the road that you've not slept with any women even though you've had dating profiles?
Absolutely not. Never? Never. But he says that, but he stayed the night with somebody in Oklahoma City and he lied about it to our kids' face. He said, "I'm going to work," kissed our kids goodbye and went and stayed the night with a woman. I did, I stayed. So what did you do? Slumber party? Pretty much. And I got to the airport early. No. I'm seriously so emotionally broken from everything. How could I? I couldn't even get my— That is such a lie. It's not a lie.
There is a lot going on in your relationship. And when I asked you about the divorce and what's going on, you said that your lawyers advised you not to leave the house, which makes complete sense to me. But what I wanna know from you is why didn't you leave?
I can't have a career. I can't raise 3 kids on my income. And I know from past experience that he's not gonna just start paying child support. He's not. You don't know that. You don't pay your bills. But the money's in the account for every—
So who pays the bills right now? So you're saying you maintain the house right now? I'm done with this. So, so, okay. So, so you're saying Do you pay the bills right now?
I pay all the bills. I do everything. I mean everything.
Okay then, so why do you think that you won't? I'm mom and dad. So you don't make your own money right now? No.
It's all his? I would love to have a job. I was working up until COVID hit.
Is it his money that you're doing? Is that why? Are you using him for that?
No, of course not. I don't get any of that money. You don't think I want the divorce? Here you go. Silence. All he knows is lies. His whole being is around lies. So you don't think this is real?
No. You don't think these papers are signed? No, I don't. Let's see. Open them, open them.
No.
So there is drama to it, okay.
Nope. Okay. Everything he does is a lie.
You ready to sign? I'm serious. So you came out here. Do you— are you ready to sign these divorce papers? I'm—
yeah, I am ready, but I, I don't want to, but I am ready. I, I can— I just want to find a way to make— to get past this.
Okay, if you want my advice, y'all are in a cycle of emotional cycle of manipulation. You're in a cycle of hurting each other and destroying each other. I do believe if you're going to man up and step up and give her these papers, then you man up and step up and sign them because there's nothing about that that's gonna be healthy. And that's just my honest opinion for you. And I believe that if the concern, and again, and I'm not calling you the bad guy and I'm not calling you the bad woman because you're equally, you equally are destructive to each other. If we flip the, this on the other way and we saw a man saying this to a woman, we would all empathize with her. And so I'm empathizing with you as a man. Your wife is telling you she's sleeping with other men. She's telling you to your face.
Yeah, it's tough.
It is tough. Yeah. Now you have children together and I think her concern is valid that there has to be support there for the children. Of course. So I really hope that you will do that. Of course. Listen, he's making a commitment right here on television. And that he will support you and the family. Like—
He's also made that commitment in life and he doesn't do it. I mean, I can only do so much.
But I only think, I don't think, well, it's signed. You wanna give it to him? I know this is rough for you because there's a part of you that is so used to this function that it's like, what else do I do? This is all that I know. I know this dysfunction. I saw how young y'all were. What are you thinking about over there right now? What are you thinking about?
That I don't know if I've made the best decision or the worst decision right now.
You made the best decision. You made the best decision. Take a deep breath. You're gonna process this. Take a deep breath. You're gonna need to process this. You're still in shock. I am. Yeah. And I know there's a part of you as well that as much as you want this, you would've pulled the trigger as well before because you're in the same cycle as well. You could've pulled the trigger.
Yeah, I asked for this 2 years ago. I've known it was coming.
Well, like I said, you could have pulled the trigger, but you didn't for a minute.
I can't. There's no way. I would have to leave my children and I don't think he's ready for them 100% of the time.
So listen, what I've heard from this is that even though he wasn't there physically, he has 100% supported you and your family. And so that, I believe financially, yeah. So if he was doing it before, I already feel that it's gonna be done after. Sean, I wanna know, do you wanna apologize for anything?
Yeah, of course, of course. I apologize for not being strong enough to get through the emotional part of it. I apologize for having to reach out for physical and emotional contact. I apologize how it all played out. Just didn't see that coming.
Rocky, do you wanna apologize for anything?
I apologize for everything. Everything from the get-go, everything that went wrong. It's always been my fault.
What did you just say in that last part?
Everything, I take responsibility for everything because at the end, everything is my fault. I should have been able to do better.
No, no, no, no, no, no. I stopped you and said that you can't. You can't do that. It's not your fault. There are two people in this relationship, and you both made decisions throughout this relationship that were unhealthy. You both made. You weren't there to pick up her phone and make her go to another guy. I know. So that's not your fault. That is her choice. Right. It was your choice to choose a job where you had to go away. Right. It was your choice and that did cause you to start moving on. But don't ever again put that, you need to start practicing right now to start not putting that full guilt on yourself. Can you say, "I'm sorry, but it was both of our faults." I'm sorry, it was both of our faults. Can you say that as well?
Yeah, absolutely. I'm sorry, it was both of our faults.
I think y'all have taken the first step You took the first step here to honestly communicating, and I really hope you heard that. Both of your faults. You heard her say it as well. Both of y'all's faults. Leave this. Start to rebuild your self-esteem. Start to rebuild your self-esteem. Both of y'all get healthy once you're not having this relationship break y'all down, okay? I really do wish y'all the best of luck. Stay strong. Keep this divorce, all right? You can give it up for them.
